It’s been a long time and there’s been a LOT going on personally and with my full-time work that’s made it hard to find time to keep up with Scripture Type. It’s always been a balancing act, but as Carly and I regularly talk about how to prioritize the time we always come back to the importance of prayer and being faithful to what He calls us to each day. I can sometimes feel discouraged by the things that I don’t get to in a day, but God is so faithful to make clear what He requires of us which is simply to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Testing a new process which consists of hand-pouring colored epoxy into the engraving of our designs on salvaged local timber. So far, I’m loving the results of being able to bring out all the natural grain of the walnut wood and still have the focus be the Word. This simple, but profound Truth puts so many things into perspective. When we’ve had a long day at work, when we’re reading the news, when we feel discouraged or that all of our labor is in vain, remembering where our treasure is (ultimately, Who our Treasure is) really does change everything. We’ve been freshly reminded lately of how important and what a privilege it is to memorize Scripture as a family, to have God’s Word hidden in our hearts. We’re thankful for the encouragement of our church to be memorizing verses each week following along with @fighter_verses and also for the reminders of why we memorize Scripture and how vital it is for encouraging one another and in our fight against sin and temptation. These verses in Philippians come to mind often ever since we memorized them together as a family when our now 9-year-old daughter was 3.
