Brittleshade, a city nestled in myth and legend. Magic and science walk hand in hand in a city unlike any other. Once ruled by dragons, the capital of a great nation, but now it was a conquered city in the Alfar Nation. It had become home to all manner of creatures from the friendly Golbry to the ingenious Tibareni.
But everyone knows there is more to Brittleshade than meets the eye. Technology offers convenience but the true lifeblood of Brittleshade is magic. Possess the right kind and you could carve out your place in the brightest jewel in the land. But beneath the shiny veneer of a city that never sleeps lies secrets that many would keep buried. One such secret is that of your sister.
A single life hardly matters in the grand scheme of the five million that live in Brittleshade. Will you find the answer or will you too end up as just another foolish tourist who got lost in the dark.

Why does the MC start off so weak in their power?
Plot has gotta plot. But outside that, I wanted it to feel more like the player is developing the character the way they see fit. It’s why things like age or exactly when the MC left the family (if that route is chosen).
Will the MC get more powerful?
Yes, the more the power is used, the stronger the character will get.
How powerful can the MC become?
Powerful enough to be a threat. Pyrokinetics for example, with a very specific chain of events, will be able to create fire instead of just controlling it.
Why only those three powers?
I wanted the powers to be mostly mental-based but nothing too revealing (like clairvoyance and telepathy) and are not already a power belonging to an NPC. If I can think of other powers that fit, I will add those in.
Will the MC’s powers affect the story?
Depending on power choice, there will be different story bits to reflect that power. Empathy is the exception as this will provide additional information at certain times about other people’s emotions.
Will the MC’s power affect the ending?
Yes and no. It depends on how the game gets played. The narrative will differ depending on player choices which means a different ending for someone who embraced their powers and someone who avoided them.
What is MC's age?
The MC is at least 1 year older than their younger sister who is considered an adult. Otherwise, this is up to the player.
What profession did they do when they leave the family?
This was left vague as I want to leave it up to a player's imagination and it might end up with too many options if I programmed in all the potential options for professions. There will be an opportunity for the MC to discuss what they did after they left the family (or what happened in the time between Catherine leaving and going missing) and their age if they did leave the family.
Tumblr media
Will we see more of Brittleshade?
Yes. There will be options to venture into different parts of the city.
Will we see more of the world outside Brittleshade?
Not really. It might be referenced or seen in flashbacks/memories but the game is set in Brittleshade.
One of the options is to go to the police station. How does that work in a world of magic and abilities?
For the most part like it does in the real world. Specialty units deal specifically with powers and magic. Think magic SWAT team. There are also bounty hunters that specialize in hunting magic users.
Will we see more of the MC’s family?
Currently, the MC is the only one who came to Brittleshade. However, I don’t have the individual scenes plotted out in my head (just the main story points) so it may be possible if my story ends up going that way. Most likely it’ll be a no as the MC is persona non grata with the family and baby sis is now considered part of the Goldmans.
Who are the MC’s siblings?
Currently, they're non-entities and are only mentioned in passing. The only other sibling that has anything defined besides MC and Catherine is the oldest child if MC is not the oldest. In that case, it's an older brother who's a Telekinetic.
Will we learn/see more about other powered human families?
They may be mentioned later but there won’t be any main characters from the other families.
The game mentions Golbry, Tibareni and Alfar. What are those?
Golbry and Alfar are two of the races you’ll encounter in the story. Tibareni are a race that is responsible for most of the modern technology in Brittleshade. Find out more about races here.
What other kinds of races are there?
There are shapeshifters, Northmen and Helfar. If I continue past Catalyst, these would come into play in a second story.
Tumblr media
How many love interests are there?
Currently 6. If I have the time (and interest) I will program in additional ones. The background stats will be there already in the game in case development goes that way.
Will the love interests be non-human?
Yes. Only two are fully human, three are non-human and the last one depends on player choices.
Are the human love interests Zachariah and Rebecca?
Yes, they’re the human love interests. There can be a third depending on player choices.
What are the genders of the love interests?
Currently 2 male, 2 female, 1 non-binary and 1 genderfluid.

The Green Knight 2021 reminds me of the short story "The Middle Prince" by Dean Francis Alfar in how it follows someone who isn't a great hero (unlike his family member) and is from the very beginning incapable of embodying the fairy tale. It also has dreamy fairytale sequences that LOOK like a test, but don't reward him:
"With a smile and an open heart, he gave away every viand and fruit and sweetbread, every egg and nut and pickle, every wrapped, dried, stewed and preserved bit of food, everything he had, to the delight of every fish.
Within moments, all his provisions were exhausted, consumed by the disbelieving fish that were used to a certain paucity of comestibles. Each one, in turn, began to speak in its own clear and distinct voice, spouting prophecies and oracles, legends and secrets, maxims and ancient sayings, descriptions of things buried for thousands of years underwater and of things that fell in or drowned only hours earlier.
They pronounced the names of every ship that had sailed the Celibate Sea, enumerated the lost loves that sailors pined for, and repeated every word of every poet, privateer and passenger who had ever known the ocean, exhaling sighs and hopes and dreams and curses in the precise language in which it was first spoken.
The middle prince soon found himself unable to bear the weight of the fishes’ declarations, and clutched at his bleeding ears vainly in an effort to stifle the power of the multiple assertions."

Elves: Mythical Creatures and Real-Life Encounters
visit my blog to read in detail-
Origins of Elves in Mythology
The origins of elves can be traced back to ancient mythologies and folklore. One of the earliest references to elves can be found in Norse mythology, where they were known as "alfar." In Norse mythology, elves were seen as supernatural beings associated with nature and fertility. They were often depicted as beautiful and ethereal creatures, living in enchanted forests or hidden realms.
Elves in Literature and Pop Culture
Elves have been a popular subject in literature for centuries. From William Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novels, elves have played significant roles in many stories. In Tolkien's works, elves are portrayed as wise and noble creatures, skilled in arts and warfare. Their depiction in popular culture has influenced the modern perception of elves as graceful and mystical beings.
The Connection Between Elves and Fairies
Elves, fairies, and other magical creatures are often closely related in folklore. In fact, the line between elves and fairies has sometimes been blurred, with the two terms being used interchangeably. However, there are some key differences between elves and fairies. While fairies are often associated with nature and magic, elves are more commonly linked to forests and enchanted realms

Elves: the magical companions of mankind
Elves play a significant role in contemporary popular culture, especially in the realm of fantasy. In the Lord of the Rings trilogy, J.R.R. Tolkien Tolkien, elves are depicted as elegant and wise creatures who possess incredible talents in archery and sword fighting. They are also known for their connection to nature and their ability to communicate with animals. But where did these myths come from?
Elves are part of the folklore and mythology of different cultures on our planet. In Norse mythology, elves were known as "alfar" or "alfr" (singular). The Norse Alfar were believed to be deities inhabiting one of the Nine Worlds. They also had physical representations on Earth that were described as tall, slender beings with pale skin, pointed ears, and long hair.
The Norse believed that the Alfar could be benevolent or hostile, depending on how humans treated them. They also acted as guardians of the natural world, and their presence brought happiness and prosperity to all those who respect nature.
In Celtic mythology, elves were known as "Sidhe", "Tuatha de Danann" or "Aos Sidhe". They were considered a supernatural race of beings living underground in a land inaccessible to humans. Elves in Celtic folklore were associated with beauty, grace and intelligence. They were also believed to possess magical powers such as healing, shapeshifting, and reality manipulation.
In Germanic mythology, elves were known as "Elben" or "Elfen". Their imagery here was very similar to the Norse Alfar in terms of physical appearance. Most messages, however, depict them as more malicious beings. Germanic elves were known for playing pranks and causing chaos. However, they were very helpful, if only someone won their sympathy.
In some stories, elves were depicted as skilled blacksmiths or locksmiths who assisted craftsmen in exchange for gifts or favors. According to Germanic mythology, elves have the ability to shapeshift and can take the form of animals or even humans.
These mysterious creatures even appear in Japanese mythology. The elves were known there as "Yosei". They were considered ethereal, fairy-tale beings with a delicate, unearthly beauty. Japanese elves were associated with the natural world and were believed to live in forests, rivers and mountains. Like elves in other cultures, Yosei had magical powers, including the ability to grant wishes, create illusions, and communicate with animals.
But that's not all. In many regions of the world, the belief in these mysterious beings has been preserved until our times. On the Malaysian island of Borneo and the nearby Malay Peninsula, there are still legends about ethereal beings called Orang Bunian. In the local dialect, it translates as people of sound or wheezing people. These characters are popular heroes of local fairy tales and are known especially for having pointed ears and amazing beauty.
Legends about this circulate even in distant Iceland. At the end of 2013, one of the judges from this country even stopped the construction of one road, justifying it with the nearby habitat of elves. A little earlier, at the end of 1996, the work of bulldozers that carried out work on the Kópavogur hill was banned there. The site designated for the graveyard was thought to be home to another group of elves. The inhabitants of the volcanic island, when asked why they believe in elves even though they have not seen them, usually explain that they feel their presence.
In Slavic mythology, elves are identified by some researchers with rusalkas and rusalkas. In Greek mythology, elves are identified with nymphs by some researchers. Most of the above creatures had unearthly beauty, magical skills and... tendencies to kidnap people. Regardless of whether we are talking about the Irish Wild Hunt or Slavic fairies, Greek nymphs and Scandinavian rusalkas rousing men to a deadly dance, encounters with Elves often ended in death or disappearance for people for many years.
These days, elves are ubiquitous in literature, movies, and games, and their popularity continues to grow. Although they cannot be found in the real world, their legendary stories and cultural significance raise many questions about the source of these legends. Isn't it strange that almost identical beings have appeared in many different cultures and have almost always been associated with magic, beauty and an otherworldly nature. Whether they are known as Alfar, Sidhe, Elben, or Yosei, elves still capture the human imagination.

Happy WBW, Tiss!
How did all the sentient species in your setting meet? How accurately is the first contact remembered? Is it taught in schools, did it turn into a legend, or something else?
Thanks for asking! Now, how to answer this in a non-spoilery way . . .
The various peoples in The Tectomancy Saga knew of each other for a long time before coming into contact with one another. Ultimately, the world is not very large, so it was an inevitability that eventually, as populations grew and took control of more land, they would run into each other. Humans especially had a lot of early encounters with other species during their alliance with the Dragons, as the monarchs of the time were warlike, and very into expansion of territory. Let's talk about some specific pairs of neighbours:
Humans and Alfar: The Alfar build their towns in a sacred pattern that spreads from their capital city. This inevitably led to them building on land that humans had already decided belonged to them. This led to some brutal skirmishes between the two. Between Alvian illusion magic, and Humanity's use of Dragons as weapons of war, the border moved a lot and landed in a position that nobody was really happy with. They've been on uneasy terms since, and the conflict is taught very differently on each side.
Humans and Orkus: First contact with the Orkus is hard to pin down. They live in small tight-knit communities that aren't well-connected, so it's hard to say which village was run over by dragonfire first. Whoever it was, it was soon common knowledge that Humans were bastards and you should take them for all they've got. After Humans and Dragons parted ways, Orken opinion changed a little - Humans are dopey, good for raiding or trading with, but best for leaving alone. They haven't forgotten.
Droichs and Dragons: After Dragons and Humans had their less-than-amicable divorce, the Dragons headed north and found the nomadic Droichs. The Dragons needed people who could dig out precious metals and gems to repair themselves. The Droichs needed protection, and by extension, unlocked a whole new world of trade and commerce. The two communities have been interwoven ever since, with Droichs and Dragons forming partnerships of every kind. The story of how the two communities came to trust one another (involving a Droichish girl nursing an injured Dragon back to health, and the two of them becoming inseparable partners once she was well) is a popular legend often retold around campfires.

From the north side of the tower, tourist can enjoy an overview shot of the President's House and other landmarks like the Gordon Gardens and the old General Post Office.Other places of attraction in Colombo are Gordon Gardens, Jami-ul-Alfar, the New and Old Kathiresan Kovils, St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Pettah's bazaar.Kandy The charming town of Kandy presents the royal history of Sri Lanka. The Temple of the Tooth is a major destination for Buddhist pilgrims. As per legend, the temple was the royal home of the Kings of Kandy. Evidences can be found with a visit to the nearby Royal Palace, which has a two storey Bathhouse, a central courtyard and the Queen's Palace.Besides, other tourist places of note are Henarathgoda Botanical Garden, Cadjugama, Elephant Orphanage at Pinnewala and Kandy Lake.Dambulla Dambulla is the most important place in the cultural tour circuit of Sri Lanka. With an imposing 160-meter height, the rocky place treasures five impressive cave temples. All the temples are dedicated to Lord Buddha and hence tourist can see His statues inside the caves. The first cave or Devaraja Viharaya is dedicated to Lord Vishnu; the second cave or the Temple of Great Kings is the largest one and is treasured with good number of sculptures; the third cave is the Great New Temple or the Maha Alut Viharaya.Galle Located in the South Coast of Srilanka, Galle attracts tourist from all over the world. The imposing Galle Fort is the key attraction for tourist in the city. Visitors can feed themselves at the Amangalla, the oldest hotel in Sri Lanka. The nearby Groote Kerk, an old Protestant Church is also worth-visiting. Other places of visit are the National Maritime Museum, Unawatuna Bay, Koggala and Weligama.Nuwara Eliya The salubrious climate of Nuwara Eliya is worth-experiencing. This charming place was discovered by Sir Edward Barnes in the year 1828. It is situated at an height of 1, 400 feet and tourist gets a chance to explore the place on foot. This is a page out of my sketchbook that I drew over the top of because I didn't want to subject anyone to the mess beneath. Just trust me on this. Most of what I have on Huldufolk, the Hidden Folk, or Icelandic Elves, comes from both Icelandic Folkatales & Legends and The World Guide to Gnomes, Fairies, Elves, And Other Little People. One day I'll get around to writing a proper Myth Stuff Entry for them, but for now here's the limited information from the sketchbook: "Instead of a philtrum (the small indent line on your upper lip) they have a small cartilage ridge. Or, they have no division between their two nostrils. Or not, they seem to appear human for the most part with one single trait giving them away. Their dress, when not explicitly hiding among humans, is green and reminiscent of local flora. For instance, the Elf Queen Hild is drawn with puffy shoulders of hvönn, or Angelica archangelica. Unlike English fairies, Icelandic elves bare no resemblance to insects or other animals and are usually humanoid, like their ancestors the alfar. Not mentioned is the fact that huldufolk tend to be described as tall for humans. Not giant, just tall. And, in some other, mostly modern portrayals, elves are described as quite small. Which shouldn't pose too much of a problem for them. The problem is mostly on our part, as we fail to see how an individual can exist at two different sizes at the same time. Elfs don't seem to have any trouble with it though. Neither do giants. In a lot of old stories, Norse sagas and the Eddas especially, giants are simultaneously enormous giants and human-sized enough to interact with the gods on a personal level. Three individuals are drawn up top: the forlorn elf lover from the story of the same name, the Elf Queen Hild, and Thievin' Kidhus. The Forlorn Elf lover is a story where a romantic/sexual relationship between an supernatural being and human is actually wholesome, even if it has a bitter ending for the lovers. The lover is a tall, richly dressed man, travelling with a smaller man that turns out to be his half-human son.
Hild is stated to be the queen of the elfs, or at least a faction of them. There doesn't seem to be a ruler of /all/ of the elfs of one contiguous area as we'd expect in human nations. She was cursed by her step-mother to work as a servant for a human family. Only one night of the year, Christmas, could she return to her elf family and live an hour or two of luxury before being forced back, until her curse is broken that is.
And Kidhus is just an asshole that steals stuff. That's it. One time someone caught him invisibly stealing stuff, so he gave the guy who caught him a ladder that would carry him and his wife to Heaven. Presumably as a moral test, as they die before they get there by a lack of oxygen making them fall. (Not making that up either, it's in the original text that the got light-headed and fell from the ladder).
One not illustrated, but still interesting was a tall elfin bride who cursed her good for nothing baby daddy after he refused to baptize their child. In return, he leapt into the ocean mad, turning into a Rauðkembingur, or Red-crest, an evil whale.

Do you mind if I send in another slightly complicated question? I'd like to work and ally with various nature spirits and hidden folk. I've read that faeries, for all the gifts they could offer, can be very capricious or tricky at best and must be approached very carefully. In regards to elves or alfar, so far I get the impression that they can be relatively welcoming and safe as long as I treat them with respect. Would that be correct at all? I do feel a desire to bond with nature.
Hey Pengee,
It’s true that Fae and Alfar can be very different, just like all creatures from different mythologies. Just because they may have a resemblance doesn’t mean their interchangeable and I feel it’s important to preserve individual beliefs and traditions rather than having pagan religions added to a watered-down melting pot. Perspectives on Elves may be slightly different from one region to another in the Nordic world. Across the various perspectives, there are similarities to Fae but also stark differences.
In myths and in folkloric interpretations, Alfar are often depicted as being extremely beautiful, skilled, human-looking beings of light. They were very similar to human beings in appearance and capability, but like the best that humanity was capable of. In fact, humans that achieved a level of skill and greatness in life often were given the title of “Alf” after their death as an honorific. This also fits into Alfar in their roles of Ancestor veneration. Alfablot is only mentioned in one text by Snorri but folkloric legends/practices around the Alfar seem to tie them to Ancestor work often. Some scholars posit that views of Alfar may have to do with the reincarnation of souls into higher realms. These things indicate that it may be possible to become an elf eventually? Whereas no such indication exists with Fae.
I should note that some regions vary greatly in their modern cultural perspective on elves. In Iceland, they’re seen as small hidden folk that live under the ground and in hills, for example. I’m mostly going off of what we know about the Old Norse view and my own interactions.
Fae are pretty different than ALL the depictions of elves though... the original Celtic peoples who upon their death were buried in mounds, became one with the land, and developed various uncanny appearances. Fae seem to have more of a love/hate relationship with humans, enjoying them for sport and entertainment but also resentful of our treatment of nature. Even the elves in Iceland that also inhabit mounds don’t seek out humans to taunt. Norse Alfar don’t seem to share the Fae’s conflicting relationship with humankind. They’re mostly depicted as amiable and even helpful to humans. There are quite a few stories of Alfar falling in love with humans and marrying them.
That being said, all spirits can have their faults, prejudices, and may become angry or frustrated if disrespected. There are stories of Alfar being very angry and vengeful when wronged. Usually it’s not a case of “let’s really mess with this person” but rather seeking retribution though, which can be different from the Fair Folk. As a whole, Alfar aren’t tricky or deceitful whereas Fae are known for using doublespeak and illusion to confuse or disorient humans.
The Alfar I’ve met and worked with were very loving but stoic and all about maintaining right relationship (especially with nature). As long as I’ve treated them with hospitality and respect, all of my interactions with the Alfar have been very positive and healing. And if I do say so, Tolkien’s depiction of elves was pretty damn close to the Alfar I’ve seen and their culture.
💙 Fynn

Survey 16.
Favorite beverage: Well, Water I guess.  I like drinking Mt. Dew or Coffee but I’ve cut back on all that stuff (but I will have a cup of coffee every morning)
When was the last time you had ketchup? On Saturday.  We made Sweet Potato Fries but they don’t really good with ketchup
What is the most recent gift you've been given? My co-workers gave me a GrubHub gift card for all the help (they’re working from home but I still go into the office so they e-mail what they need to do to me so I can do it for them - I actually hate doing it but..we don’t really have a choice).  Anyway, they wanted to give me something as “Thanks for all the help” and I told them a simple “Thank You” is all I want but people don’t listen. (Not to be ungrateful but I don’t like receiving gifts from anyone other than family and NO ONE listens and gives me things anyway).
Did you leave the house today? Not yet, I’ll be leaving about 8:10 to go to work
Are there bumper stickers on your car? Yes :) a “Straw Hat” pirate one from the anime One Piece and an EXO sticker for the kpop group.
Are you watching tv right now? Kind of.  “Dark” on Netflix.  I paused it briefly though to read these questions - its in German so I need to read the subtitles.
Are you wearing anything blue? No
Do you have a job? Yes..but I’ve been thinking about quitting so I can move back to the city I loved.  Life is too short to live in a place you don’t like and I’ve seen other jobs I can apply for so I’m not worried.
Is your car messy? No, I like to keep it clean.
When did you last have whipped cream? This morning..I like using heavy whipping cream in my coffee (as opposed to the other creamers that are all sugar).  My husband uses the canned/aerosol whipped cream in his coffee though.

What is the most recent picture on your phone/camera of: UGH OMG so I forgot I took a picture of this DISGUSTING roach that I found in our apt on Friday night.  They’re not the tiny/infestation ones, they’re large “Palmetto Bug” roaches that tend to wander into houses that have cracks and our vents.  Since I live in an apartment, theres not much I can do about it. I can’t wait to move!!!
Have you ever shot a gun? Oh definitely, we like to go to the gun range with my father-in-law.  Its a great way for us to bond and I hope to God I’ll never ever have to actually use one but I like the idea of not being completely defenseless if someone breaks into my house (as I’m small and could easily get overpowered)
What temperature is it? Maybe 70 in the apt but probably 80s outside? Do you know anyone with a third nipple? Uh..no.

About the Land Spirits 002
Musings on what I have studied as Tuesday was a free day we were given to study anything we wanted to from our research list we made in January. I decided to start my research more intensely about the landvaettir and other land spirits. These are the ones I have researched today so far which many I already knew about but want to digest the information and place it here to process properly: Landvaettir / Land Wights -- The Old Norse word translates directly to “land wights” so I use both in describing them. They are spirits that inhabit different places of land, like location spirits. They inhabit things like fields, or even stones or trees in particular. They are typically associated with your fae folklore about those that inhabit the hills, stones, or stumps, etc. There was even a story of an airport that had to wait for their construction as they allowed the landvaettir to move out of a boulder sitting in the new airfield. It is considered customary to speak and ask persmission of Landvaettir and to give them ample time to move out of a location if one decides to remove a stone or tree from the space in order not to disrespect them and destroy their home(s). This also aids in not garnering bad luck, as Landvaettir take it personally if you are so rude to push them out of a home without asking. It also was customary in Iceland to not have dragon prows in place when coming into harbour and to take them down as to not scare the local landvaettir by the seashore. I imagine it might transfer into current day where one should be careful how they approach land areas to not scare away Landvaettir especially if traveling to areas undisturbed by humans typically, i.e. when hiking or exploring unbothered natural spaces.
Húsvættir / House Wights --
As the name implies they are the house equivalent to the landvaettir but of the home. Wights of the home are oftten helpful around the homestead if respected and the act of gift giving and the gifting cycle is taken, as with all spirits. To say things like “Look out” when throwing out hot water or urinating is helpful to both Landvaettir and Husvaettir. They dwell in your every day world but are invisible to the eye. It is good to interact respectfully overall with either type as Landvaettir are commonly not far from a stone’s throw away outdoors. The House Wight are often helpful in finding lost things, keeping up on chores, or doing other things around the home for a simple respectful gift cycle exchange. It is thought to be respectful to create an altar in their honour in your home just as one would make outdoors for Landvaettir, the Husvaettir are commonly forgotten.
Elves -- The most well known of nature spirits as Tolkein adapted the term into his interpretation of Elves in the Lord of the Rings, of course, which fed into the standard high fantasy interpretations of different species of humanoids eventually as many things pulled from Tolkein. They are considered demonic in some interpretations even, but typically are actually neutral parties of the land. They have often linked to Freyja and Freyr themselves as the Vanir are considered elves as well, considering Freyr is the king of Alfheim (land of the elves.) It is said that the magic of Seidr that Freyja began and teaches is that same magic the Elves commonly used as well. They are considered spirits of nature and magic both, things the Vanir are linked to intrinsically.
Alfar and Landdisir -- Considered the masculine and feminine (respectively) spirits of the land but not necessarily directly from the Earth itself, they come from our ancestors spirits having been buried for so long that they become part of the Earth themselves and in turn become land spirits. ‘Alfar’ directly translates to ‘elf’ but their origins are different than traditional Elves in the ancestral lines they come from. They both are protective and often inhabit stones and land masses, sometimes old farmsteads, similar to Elves and Landvaettir. What differentiates them from the Landvaettir and Elves is that they watch over the kin and family, versus the Landvaettir watching over the land itself. Though the lands the Disir and Alfar might watch over are specific familial lands, it is still with the need to watch over a family instead of simply a piece of land itself for land’s sake.  Dwarves --
Considered Dark Elves or in Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda, the ‘Dokkalfar’ and ‘Svartalfar.’ These are the craftspeople of the Earth and are skilled in many things, often credited with crafting all the magical items that the Vanir and Aesir have collected over time in their stories. There are four dwarves that named the Four Directions, North South East and West and hold up the sky - akin to how in media you see “four giants that hold up the corners of the world.” the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask directly pulls from this story to fuel their Four Giants lore. Dwarves differ in how they are depicted in common media thanks to the Tolkein  interpretations of short and squat individuals, they are rather instead similar if not the same as Elves. If anything, Dungeons and Dragons’ Drow/Dark Elves are the closest that come to the traditional Dwarves in any media. You could also consider Night Elves properly interpreted from World of Warcraft too, as they are just as similar to High Elves (Light Elves) in the media too. They are spirits of the land, regardless, in their true origins. Personally I give offerings to them in hopes of being blessed with creative spirit and inspiration to finish projects with good craftmansship and eye for detail as they have been known to have. These are the most common but not all of the types of land spirits. I actually have a book on the fae folk and land spirits that I have been slowly reading to learn about each type, too. I will probably collect my thoughts on them here to share in little bursts as much as I can or maybe draw some of them.
