Oh, brother...aka keeping it in the (royal) family
I recently realized that for some reason “multiple brothers one girl” seems to be a popular category in costume dramas. I am not sure why such sharing is necessary in a polygamous society for fancy royals each of whom can get himself a whole harem, but I am not complaining that it appears any remake of the Hollywood classic “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” would clearly be changed into “One Bride for Seven Brothers, and Some of the Brothers Spit Blood and Die” if it were a cdrama. Here are some of the dramas at issue.
Liu Shi Shi appears to be the queen of this subgenre to such an extent that I am vaguely wondering if it’s in her contract. We are gonna start with THREE of her dramas:
Bu Bu Jing Xin - Liu Shi Shi has not one, not two, but THREE hot royal brothers, played by Nicky Wu, Kevin Cheng and Lin Gengxin, pine for her time-traveling self. Since this is an exquisite (no, seriously, it’s amazing) period piece about loss and longing, she ends up with none of them, instead of a hot vagely-’cesty gangbang as one might expect from that set-up.
Tumblr media
Lost Love in Times - poor Liu Shi Shi, she’s a sexy witch having to pick between William Chan and his shady brother Joe Xu. To make it even trippier, the two actors look like each other, to really hammer the whole “siblings want her” theme.
Tumblr media
The Imperial Doctress - why bust what’s not broken? It’s the true and tried Liu Shi Shi and hot royal brothers formula. She’s a doctor who spends most of her time practicing medicine, escaping barbarians and creating feminism, not noticing that as she pines for one royal brother played by Huang Xuan, another royal brother, played by infinitely hotter Wallace Huo, is pining for her.
Tumblr media
Gong/Jade Palace Lock Heart - if Liu Shi Shi is the queen of that set up, Feng Shao Feng is the king, what with this and Military Seal, both of which star Yang Mi. Clearly, there are worse ways to make a career than stealing Yang Mi from a royal brother. Here, Yang Mi is a spunky time traveler in the middle of Kang Xi’s sons’ fight for the throne. She first falls for Four but ends up with Eight. In between, she offers to bang Four to save Eight as one does. Gives a whole new meaning to sharing is caring and “have you brought enough for the entire class?”
Tumblr media
Legend of the Military Seal - Yang Mi and FSF strike again. FSF is madly in love with his brother’s wife, and since she’s not afflicted by blindness, she shares his feelings. Surprisingly, but delightfully, happy ending ensues.
Tumblr media
Who Rules the World - more like which brother rules awesome Zhao Lusi’s heart. Going by the rule of “hottest brother wins,” Yang Yang gets the girl in a drama that is pretty yum yum.
Tumblr media
Colourful Bone - one hot seriously whumped out royal brother and one whiny immature one, oh who should the heroine pick? This drama stands for the proposition that you should protect and save abused people, especially if they are hot men, since they will always turn out to be an emperor in disguise. This drama btw is one giant kinkfest for yours truly.
Tumblr media
The Eternal Love - you could make THREE whole seasons out of timetravel and brothers into the same girl, who knew.
Tumblr media
Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty - if you’ve seen Gong or BBJX, you know the drill. Horde of queued brothers queueing for the heroine.
Tumblr media
(Mine and all my brothers’, that is -Ed.)
Princess Jieyou - Yuan Hong narrowly escaped the curse of fancying his brother’s woman in BBJX, being about the only sibling not in love with LSS in that one. But clearly, you can’t fight fate and shortly thereafter he’s got to be a sister-in-law luster in a drama of his very own. He is a barbarian general who falls in love with a woman only to discover she’s to marry his brother. Angst and deliciousness and eventual happy ending (the husband fulfilled the uglier brother’s duty by eventually kicking the bucket.)
Tumblr media
The Promise of Chang’an - if you want to watch brothers with the same woman but no happy ending, and have already watched BBJX, I present this recent drama where Cheng Yi gets to, as always, suffer beautifully watching the woman he loves marry his annoying brother. Pretty much everyone dies at the end of this one, going off to a great big threesome in the sky.
Tumblr media
Twisted Fate of Love - will Sun Yi pick the delicate Tan Jianci or the sexy as fuck bastard that is Jin Han? Being a smart woman, she picks the latter and my hormones rejoice.
Tumblr media
Go Princess Go - this is a drama that parodied every cliche there is, so why not brothers into one woman? Who is actually a man in a woman’s body making it even more delightful!
Tumblr media
Ashes of Love - even being divine, with women from three separate realms available will seemingly not prevent love interests being a scarce resource leading to sibling love rivalry. Deng Lun and Luo Yunxi duke it out ostensibly for Yang Zi but in reality for who can suffer more prettily. Deng Lun might get the girl, but LYX wins the suffering crown, so it all more or less evens out.
Tumblr media
Princess Silver - are siblings in love with the same woman not spicy enough for you? How about TWINS in love with the same woman? One awesome (Aarif Rahman) and one psychotic (Jing Chao) want our heroine and both marry her at one point. Only the awesome one gets to bang her though. (But the psychotic one gets to stick meathooks through his brother in compensation for not being able to stick...ummm...meathook through the heroine, so it’s all OK.)
Tumblr media
Secret of the Three Kingdoms - and now we are gonna go REAL PERV! If twins are not enough for you, seekers of strong sensations, how about IDENTICAL twins? Ma Tianyu replaces his dead identical twin brother as the last Han emperor and gets to woo Wan Qian (whose plan it was in the first place.) At least she doesn’t need to get used to a new face?
Tumblr media
We are gonna end here and not get into father and son sharing the same woman a la Empress of China.
Tumblr media
(Congrats to Aarif Rahman for getting to bang both his brother’s and his father’s wives on screen. That is an interesting niche.)

U.S. Navy SEAL, Chris Kyle, takes a moment to pose for a photo with his sniper rifle during one of his four deployments to Iraq. He remains the deadliest sniper in American military history with 160 confirmed kills.
Kyle survived his 4 tours in Iraq, but would be killed at a Texas gun range on February 2, 2013, by a veteran he was trying to help overcome PTSD.
Fair winds and following seas, Legend. You will never be forgotten.

Reporter: So you’re the hero of legend, is that right?
Hero: I’d better be. Or else I got sealed in a tree for a thousand years for no reason.
Reporter: That makes sense.
Hero: What’s that thing?
Reporter: A microphone. It records sound.
Hero: Records?
Reporter: *whispers* Are we still sure waking him up was the best idea?
Hero: I have good hearing you know.
Reporter: Oh, sorry.
Hero: Look, I don’t know what anything around here is. I don’t have a plan. I’ve never had a plan. I just get pointed at things and do my best. Now, what do I have to kill?
Reporter: I see. Is that going to be your method for defeating the lord of evil?
Hero: I don’t know anymore. He and I have been locked away for the same amount of time. Say, do you have any of those… those fast fire things? With the stick?
Reporter: Guns?
Hero: Yeah that’s what they’re called. Why do you need me if you have those?
Reporter: The military scientists tell us that they’re not effective against… magic.
Hero: What’s a scientist?
Reporter: Look, I think it’s gonna be a long day for both of us. How about we talk about this over lunch?
Hero: Now that I understand.

With Halloween approaching it's time for a spooky wee tale......
Legend says that when Edinburgh Castle was being set up as a more modern military barracks a couple hundred years ago, an opening to a small tunnel was found.
It's not unusual to find tunnels and counter tunnels dug around castles, but nobody knew where this one went.
Legend says that when Edinburgh Castle was being set up as a more modern military barracks a couple hundred years ago, an opening to a small tunnel was found.
It's not unusual to find tunnels and counter tunnels dug around castles, but nobody knew where this one went.
With the tunnel being so small and orphan children so numerous, it was decided to send a wee boy down to explore.
To make sure the men above could hear where he was heading, the lad was handed a small set of bagpipes.
The plan seemed to work as the officers followed the tune down the Royal Mile, thinking they might end up all the way down at Holyrood Palace!
However, when they got to the Tron Kirk, ight where the tunnel might have met the South Bridge, the music suddenly stopped.
They waited and waited but the music didn't start again and the wee boy didn't reappear at the tunnel entrance.
The only option they could think of to find out what had happened was to send another orphan in, but who knows what would happen to that one!
They couldn't just leave an opening into the castle, no matter how small, without knowing what was at the other end, so a decision was made.
It was bricked up and the poor wee piper's fate was sealed.
While the sound of bagpipes is a regular one on the Royal Mile through the day, it's said that late at night when the town is quiet, you can sometimes hear them playing from somewhere underground.
The ghost of the piper boy is still trying to find his way out...

Philadelphia Experiment, UFOS?
According to legend, on Oct. 28, 1943, the USS Eldridge, a Cannon-class destroyer escort, was conducting top-secret experiments designed to win command of the oceans against the Axis powers. The rumor was that the government was creating technology that would render naval ships invisible to enemy radar, and there in the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, it was time to test it out.
Witnesses claim an eerie green-blue glow surrounded the hull of the ship as her generators spun up and then, suddenly, the Eldridge disappeared. The ship was then seen in Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia before disappearing again and reappearing back in Philadelphia.
The legend states that classified military documents reported that the Eldridge crew were affected by the events in disturbing ways. Some went insane. Others developed mysterious illness. But others still were said to have been fused together with the ship; still alive, but with limbs sealed to the metal.
Carl M. Allen, who went by the pseudonym, Carlos Miguel Allende. In 1956, Allende sent a series of letters to Morris K. Jessup, author of the book, “The Case for the UFO,” in which he argued that unidentified flying objects merit further study.
Jessup apparently included text about unified field theory because this is what Allende latched onto for his correspondences. In the 1950s, unified field theory, which has never been proven, attempted to merge Albert Einstein's general theory of relativity with electromagnetism. In fact, Allende claimed to have been taught by Einstein himself and could prove the unified field theory based on events he witnessed on Oct. 28, 1943.
Allende claimed that he saw the Eldridge disappear from the Philadelphia Naval Yard, and he further insisted that the United States military had conducted what he called the Philadelphia Experiment — and was trying to cover it up.
Jessup was then contacted by the Navy's Office of Naval Research, which had received a package containing Jessup's book with annotations claiming that extra-terrestrial technology allowed the U.S. government to make breakthroughs in unified field theory.
This is one of the weirdest details. The annotations were designed to look like they were written by three different authors -- one maybe extra-terrestrial? According to Vallee's article for the Journal of Scientific Exploration, Jessup became obsessed with Allende's revelations, and the disturbed researcher took his own life in 1959.

The boys in branches of the military
I talked to an actual Marine and did some research, and decided it would be cool to put the boys in the Military!
Time: Army. The oldest and largest branch of the military, front and center, just like the Old Man himself. He’s a Lieutenant Colonel!
Twilight: Also Army. A Sergeant, Twi works in a K-9 unit, with his military working dog, Wolfie.
Sky: Air Force! 1st Lieutenant. Sky is a pilot, and flies jets, tankers, whatever—he’s got all the training.
Warriors: Again, Army. A Captain, of course.
Legend: He was a Navy SEAL when he first joined the military, but something happened and he requested a transfer to a different branch. Now Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Legend works in recon, which is basically the SEALs of the Marines.
Wild: A Marine Corporal. Wild was a rifleman, but after the base he worked on got bombed and very nearly led to his medical discharge from the military, he switched to food service.
Hyrule: A Navy medic who serves with Marines (the name for this position is corpsman)! Hyrule holds the rank of Lieutenant.
Wind: a Navy Seaman!
Four: A 1st Sergeant in the Marines, Four works in intel!

What are the overall arcs you imagine for the magical girl scar au?
OKAY SO. good question. currently it goes something like this:
early days/learning the ropes arc. the first few episodes, scar learns the ropes, this is scar's early days when it's just him trying to put the spirits back in the jar he broke. arc ends with grian's first appearance, heralding the existence of other enemies.
shadow organization arc. this is the arc where cub joins scar partway through. we have spirit attacks being clearly manipulated/exacerbated by an enemy jellie calls the 'shadow organization', as well as a mysterious magical girl.
city opinions arc. basically a short arc where the episodes start bringing in the fact that the city has opinions about them and this is getting in the way of their stuff, as well as the slow appearance of magic. this leads directly into...
military arc. yep we talked about this one.
bdubs arc. one of the darker arcs because scar and cub are in a state of heightened paranoia. in addition, there's some more about the slow appearance of magic, and someone doing stuff from the shadows for them? this culminates in bdubs joining the team kicking off what's like, the 'second half' in my head.
pearl arc/support group arc. cub gets possessed and grian starts working with the team, amongst other things, in this arc. this arc starts to zoom out and show even more stories that aren't just monster-of-the-week fights.
legends of the past arc. arc where we start questioning more about the duty of magical girls. even more grian forced teamups and also less-forced teamups. there's a focus here on team scar trying to dig up exactly what made jellie and exactly what the past magical girl teams did. also probably has some more of the shadow organization splinter factions come in. basically this arc is all about things that emphasize the increasingly complicated standing of magic in the world.
splinter faction arc. i think that it would be fun for there to be a short arc where one of the shadow organization splinter factions turns up and they're like, worse than the standard Enemy that we're dealing with, so we briefly have to go on hold to stop those guys.
grian arc. arc where scar finally admits he knows who grian is. i think they go out for a fun night on the town together like, once before the big, nearly-deadly spirit fight where grian rescues scar, they give away they know who each other are, and grian flees. also in my head the last grian episode is from his pov instead of scar's and it's the first time there's a grian pov. ends in king of monsters, which may want its own arc, idk.
identity revealed arc. very VERY short arc (only a few episodes) between grian and shadow organization assault where scar and grian's identities are revealed to the world but this does not stop the world from spinning and the battle from going on so battle they will. probably a lot of episodes where there's a lot of Talking honestly because oh boy.
shadow organization assault arc. exactly what it sounds like on the tin lol team scar + grian take the shadow organization on head-on to attempt to remove it from the picture.
end of magic arc. arc where the spirit attacks reach their absolute peak and scar's role to seal away magic or let the world end comes to the moment he's supposed to, well, end magic. only we know i said there would be a third option, so this arc goes back and forth between all the characters we've met so far fighting against the increasingly high-level threat and team scar, and eventual scar and grian alone, trying to figure out how to actually implement the third option that we discussed.
aftermath arc. i like the idea of there being like. two episodes dedicated to 'what happens now'. just because that's my jam.
so... yep this is the approximate structure in my head except i keep on making up more stuff as the cast gets bigger. for example i think wels probably goes sometime around the support group arc, timing-wise, but like i said he's probably his own two-episode thing. is that an arc. who knows. i at least have this basic idea,

Title: The Silent Prince
Chapter 1 of 2: Breath
A late entry for Dimileth Goggles on Twitter.
Tumblr media
Rating: T
Word count: 4,507
Summary: Dimitri is the Crown Prince of Hyrule, set to inherit his mother's sealing power. Except, he has nothing to show for it. Byleth is the daughter of Jeralt Eisner, a military captain. Except, swordsmanship is not her fate.
Faerghus Castle was said to have been named after the distant land the ancient Hylians had come from before settling onto the continent that made the Kingdom of Hyrule. They said that this fabled continent was across the sea, so far that the land that came before them had weathered into legend. Folktales and myths reiterated a story of a region full of dragons, warring factions, and magic interfering with the course of life. Yet, other stories claimed they came from the sky, perhaps related to the great peoples from above, the Zonai, as they united with the Hylians to create their kingdom.
With the age of their land came other legends still, ones of the Hero, the Goddess Reborn, and Nemesis the Calamity. With every age each spoke in the trio’s wheel would come upon the world, a never-ending cycle started in a time long past.
The last time the cycle had continued was ten thousand years previously when the Hero and the Goddess Reborn worked together to seal away the Calamity in a battle that would redefine the history of Hyrule. The Shiekah people, protectors of the Royal Family and therefore the Blaiddyd line, created great Divine Beasts and mechanical soldiers called Guardians that protected the Hero and the Goddess Reborn as they fought to make their way to the source of the Calamity, a vicious demonic beast whose viscous energy sought to destroy the kingdom.

A recruitment scheme disguised as an awards ceremony? by u/formerblogracket
A recruitment scheme disguised as an awards ceremony? We know already all about the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst book snub. We know already all about the Golden Globes roast. We already know that Candle and Feather always plot how to counteract these humiliations while they are licking their wounds.Almost immediately after the Sandhurst book fiasco, we learn that Harry is going to be inducted in a few days at the 21st Annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Beverly Hills. Also, John Travolta will be hosting. That's the moment my spider sense began tingling. John Travolta? You might think that's only a coincidence. Candle and Feather can be seen as pariahs by the BRF and Hollywood, but they could be still wanted by Scientology. They can totally be recruited and gain something for it. I could picture Feather in a beautiful Sea Org uniform "commandeering" lesser recruits and Candle could finally get a couple of major roles in summer blockbusters, thanks to Travolta, Cruise and the like. Nothing could please more the Scientology honchos than to have at least one foot in the BRF. Just imagine the mess it could be.They only need to love-bomb HazMeg and the deal is sealed. post link: https://ift.tt/93Rw2UL author: formerblogracket submitted: January 11, 2024 at 08:59PM via SaintMeghanMarkle on Reddit

"We didn't fucking cause this. We're his legacy." That entire speech from Ashton had big Caduceus vibes.
The necklace that Fearne found was one that Laudna's father gave to her mother on one of their anniversaries. He saved up for it, and got it with three stones to represent the three of them.
Laudna's name was Matilda Bradbury. She "kind of forgot who [she] was" after a while of running from town to town, and used to sing to herself.
oh god I had forgotten about Pate
Laudna's eldritch blast looks like the flame in her chest we saw in the dream realm. When she casts it, she feels what she's always felt — the magic coming from with in her, in her blood and bones, from the weave of arcana within herself. And she proceeds to bonk Ashton in the head with one of them.
"I was born with magic... that's why they [her parents] were so eager to push me out the door, to the castle."
Holy shit, that's one hell of a testament to Matt's character voices being distinct. The cast remembered Ollie's voice after months. The Green Seekers were sent by Shishadri to escort the Bells Hells to Eshteross' estate.
Chetney opens the letter from Eshteross to Shishadri against Orym's direct objection without hearing Orym out at all. I'm sure this will have no consequences in the future
The letter speaks on a couple of his last jobs as a mercenary, recalling the work he's done for her and the good will they have. At the very bottom, it states information about what the Hells are doing, what they've discovered, elements of the Grim Verity and the dangers of the solstice, and essentially says to stay out of their way.
Laudna casts mending on the wax seal Chetney broke. Marisha Ray has committed mail fraud on graph paper in two campaigns in a row
Mistress Shishadri called in someone to cast speak with dead on Eshteross. She has pale, pearlescent skin, powder-white. The hair is long and silver-gray, no eyebrows, with almost elven features but no sign of elvish ears. "Human, but more so — mystical, but like a creepy doll in energy and visage." Her voice is a lot like the eisfurra from the All-Minds-Burn. She wears a pendant of a golden, beaked skull — a symbol of the Matron of Ravens.
"This is the Grave Mystic Weva Vudol. She is a very useful talent when it comes to dealing with the unexpected demise of important individuals."
Her eyes roll back when she casts the spell and the face almost looks like a porcelain mask. There's a weird, sickly sweet joy to her voice as she asks the questions, and when she moves Eshteross' body, it's like moving a puppet.
"When did you die?" Not but a day before. "How did you die?" I was killed by the Legend. "And who was this legend responsible for your death?" The Legend of the Peaks, Otohan Thull. "Were they [the Bells Hells] responsible or involved in your demise?" No. "Do you have any final requests?" To be interred next to Mistress Prudaj, in the Lucid Memorial Mausoleum.
Shishadri asks the Hells to hunt down Otohan (after the Green Seekers turn it down), and offers them a contract, which they accept.
Otohan got that title during the Apex War because of her involvement with the Taloned Highlands and the Apex city Sruwargas, home of the Stratos Throne. The mountains where it resides are known as the Coven Peaks. For the people of the Throne, she was a hero, and for those opposing her, she was a nightmare.
The Stratos Throne holds rulership of the Taloned Highlands, including Imogen's hometown. She vaguely remembers having to hide, fields being burned, strongholds and military installments on the pathways along the mountains.
The death of the previous sovereign brought the Apex War to a ceasefire, alongside the mutual economic destruction that was happening.
Jovahn, Imogen's hometown, is a place where many warriors and soldiers passed through; there were many inns, homesteads, and barracks built for them that have since been repurposed. Otohan could have passed through or stayed here.
Shishadri takes all of Eshteross' letters, and will arrange the Silver Sun for pickup by the morning.
Weva's HP, AC, and levels are all much higher than Orym's. She works throughout the city and the Oderan Wilds, but works for Shishadri. Chetney smells no fey, fiend, or undead essence on her, but her skin is sort of sparkly and opalescent, sort of like that aasimar who was with Kotho back in C2.
She's flirting with Laudna.
She can..... see souls? She says Laudna's "a little dark around the edges... ooh, welcome back."
Pate!!
Keyleth had theories that the attack on Zephrah was a test, a way to test the abilities of Zephrah's defenses, but there was never a second attack.
She would sometimes talk to the deRolos about the leylines, and Orym thinks that that could be related to why Otohan wanted her dead.
FCG tries to identify the toxin residue on Eshteross' weapon. With a 26 medicine check, they recall "poisons, liquids, alchemical concoctions... and you feel with certainty that you have never seen something like this." There is no magic to it, but it's nothing FCG has encountered in the natural world.
This is the second or third time Matt has described something unidentifiable to FCG in this way — he makes a point to say how strange it is that FCG has never encountered it before or can't remember what it is, like it isn't the item itself that's strange but rather their inability to recognize it. So is this a situation where FCG's memory was wiped? Like they used to know about it but can't anymore because their "memory banks" are damaged or altered?
FCG also identifies the blade itself. It acts as a magical club when wielded as a cane, but when the command word is spoken, the ball on top of the cane becomes a scythe blade. It acts as a greatsword.
To the skyship!
But first, some shopping.
They got diamonds for revivify, and FCG got a 25gp commemorative coin. This is likely for divination, which has a material component of a 25gp "sacrificial offering."
To Yios!
It's a little less than an 1100 mile journey, and it'll take 7-8 days since they're going across the Hellcatch Valley again.
Day 1: No issues
Day 2: No issues
Day 3: Sandstorm! Chetney, Fearne, Imogen, and Orym all rolled below a 5 to stay on the ship, but everyone's tied in one way or another to the rails or the masts. No one actually fell off, but they lose a day of travel.
Day 4: No issues.
Ruidus is flaring. The date would be 30 Sydenstar 843,
Imogen is dreaming of her and Laudna baking in a cabin. "The candlelight goes from orange to a deep, deep red. The door is open, and outside the hut, you see a red cloud swirling. The storm is around you, you can hear the impact of it, the hut creaking and breaking apart. You can just barely see a shape walking into the storm, away from the hut, away from you — the darkened clothed shape of what looks like Laudna, walking away from you. Laudna? No response, just keeps walking. You will yourself to move faster, and your feet leave the ground as you glide until you are right at the back of the figure. You touch it, and it spins around, and instead, it is a darkened ruffled cloak. What you thought was Laudna's hair is tattered shreds of a funeral shroud. You see this scraggly hair in a lavender-like color, and that memory that unlocked, you recognize your mother. 'You need to run.'"
"While that's happening, Chetney. Roll a Wisdom saving throw. 6. You've concentrated on this in the past, the curse that you hold. It is tethered to the history of Catha, and the transformations have always been pulled by that massive white-silver glow in the sky. Ruidus didn't seem to have much of an impact. But as you've been more conscious of these flares, there's been this itch in your belly. Simple. But this time the itch gets stronger. And stronger. Until you can't help but try and scratch for it. You scratch and scratch, and you pull, and you tear. Fearne and Orym, you see Chetney begin to double over and clutch his stomach. Chet? Can you talk to me? You have to pull, you have to be free, you have to scratch, it has to be free. From behind, he tears the flesh away from his torso, and as you watch the skin and hair of the gnomish form flop away, the wolven body emerges with an aggressive howl, the eyes emanating a red glow. Who do you go after first? Orym."
Fearne casts daylight on Chetney, which gives him another saving throw against Ruidus' influence. He rolls 16. It has some kind of effect, but it doesn't knock Chetney out of it. (Meaning that 16 is still a fail against the influence.)
"As far as your consciousness goes, you just have to scratch the itch. This is primal impulse and instinct. You've been here a few times, but this is an odd timing."
Liam playing a battle master is so good. the battle master fighter is easily the most complex full-melee class (and is definitely more complex than many casters), and it's so nice to see the class played with such... poise? ease? skill.
Rolling another 16 save gets Chetney out of the influence and the itch goes away, but he's under half health, so he has to make another save against bloodlust, which he fails. Fearne's daylight spell knocks him out of that.
The flare fades away, and the ruddy moon is left dull in the sky.
But before that, back in Imogen land—
"As you see into the face of your mother, she steps back, and the wind whips her away like she was just strips of cloth. You glance up, and you can see through the cloud, the bright, flaring moon of Ruidus. What do you want? No response. Otohan? Are you here? Nobody seems to be present. Just the sound of strong, dangerous wind. [I reach out and lightning strike the hut.] As you reach out your arm, all the designs on your body, the extended tendrils of energy completely fill your arm and the bolt arcs across the outside of the hut. It burns and darkens, and as it burns up, the wind carries it away like the cloak but a moment before. [I fly up into the air.] The dust around you subsides slightly. You can see the darkness, the stars, beginning to come closer. You concentrate on the moon, and a few moments later, the bright light of the flare dulls, and in that moment, your ascension slows, then stops, and you begin to fall. Faster and faster. Faster and faster, you plummet. You spin and see the ground come towards you — and you wake up."
Sending to Liliana Temult: "Are you there?" "...Imogen?"

Headcanons- Enzo Reyes
Tumblr media
Hello everyone! I am still swamped with college work but I wanted to post something so here's a little HC page I have had brewing for a while. Expect Rudy and Nova's soon! Also, I have discovered I absolutely love Reyes, and it's a shame he gets so forgotten about. God, I love a strong nose on a person, fan-freaking-tastic. Cura Ut Veleas! ~ Ceadis
Born November 13th, 1987, in Regina, Canada.
His parents were never married and had a contentious co-parenting relationship throughout his life
He moved with his mother to Alberta when he was 7, so he mostly saw his father over breaks and such
He is ¼ Tsuut'ina on his father's side (his father is half Tsuut'ina and half Spanish,) the two bonded over trapping and hunting. When he’s home, he will stay with his cousins on the reserve to go hunting with them.
Complex relationship with eating meat: believes you should only hunt/kill an animal ethically and for sustenance. Morally opposed to food waste.
Can skin a deer in record time and not waste any meat/material from it.
Complicated relationship with Catholicism, but both his mother and father are, at least partially, Roman Catholic.
Both of his parents married others, he has a year older step-sister on his father's side and two younger half-brothers (3 years younger and 5 years younger) on his mother's side.
At age 13 he got into a massive fight with his mother over something silly (he forgot to turn in a take-home math quiz,) so he hitchhiked his way to his father over the course of 5 days. This is when he picked up his forgery skills from a truck driver he got a ride with.
He accidentally evaded the police who were searching for him until he showed up at his father's house unharmed.
Extremely proficient in hunting tracking and forgery.
More than anything the police were just impressed he evaded them so well once he was delivered home safely. Was recommended to join the military by one of the deputies that brought him home.
His first language was French (his mother speaks mostly French), second was Spanish (under his father.) Didn’t speak any English until he was 6 or so. Barely speaks French anymore unless with his mom. Is still fluent in Spanish. Also knows minimal Tsuut’ina to communicate while staying with his family that only speaks it.
Terrible alcohol tolerance, 2 drinks and he’s wasted.
Incredibly emotionally drunk.
Chuy once convinced him to watch a nature documentary while drunk. He cried for thirty minutes when a baby seal got eaten by an orca.
The least braggadocious guy ever, will never volunteer his skills or talk about them.
That being said, he never backs down from a challenge. Just humbly accepts it and usually wins.
The only person who can hunt/track a target better than Price.
Price fucking hates it.
Best friends with Chuy. Package deal.
Enzo is incredibly shy but extroverted, he loves to talk to others and be involved in the action but it’s hard for him to initiate.
Chuy is confident and introverted and acts as a good barrier for Enzo to feel more comfortable when talking with others.
They bonded over a love for the outdoors/hunting, Reyes helped Chuy when his rifle broke down one mission and they’ve been besties since.
Has a tendency to talk back, but not out of a challenge to authority, more out of curiosity.
The “Excuse me teacher, but isn’t it…” kid all grown up and never kicked the habit.
The biggest nerd ever. Warhammer 40k, DND, wildlife fun facts, doesn’t matter.
Trivia legend, he’s read a book on just about everything.
Had to be banned from trivia night because he always wins.
He always has a pack of waterproof playing cards on him, his favorite is a set he got from the Alberta Airport that have wildlife fun facts on every card.
Did you know that Caribou have 4 chambered stomachs and can swim up to 6 miles an hour?
Reyes did.
Reyes told you.
About 4 times.
This past month alone.
But who's keeping count, really?
Reads over a hundred books a year, easily.
Mostly nonfiction focusing on history, he will write out notes to better remember what he’s read.
Is not opposed to fiction books, but does not typically seek them out.
Is in a makeshift book club with Gromsko and Nova
It is a poorly kept secret that he will do weapon mods/maintenance in exchange for books, the issue is finding a book he hasn't read yet.
Is on a first-name basis with his hometown's librarians.
Has been working on and off on a Ph.D. in history through an online/long-distance program.
It is about the purposeful destruction of the Canadian governmental records relating to First Nations regiments in the army during the 19th century. The process has been incredibly slow because he works on it remotely and, as stated, many of the records either do not exist or were intentionally destroyed.
Teddy Bear. Gives great hugs, sweetheart of a man, loves to cook for others, and always volunteers to help people. Just generally a great dude.
This does not extend to his job.
He doesn’t have a weak stomach when it comes to his work.
He is ruthless, he is calculated, he is damn good at what he does.
He gets along well with his comrades, sure, but he’s not letting himself get killed in the field for something stupid.
Incredibly capable. Do not mistake his affability for weakness.

The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell O Zemuria details characters, story, and new battle system elements
From Gematsu
Tumblr media
Falcom has released new information and screenshots for The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell O Zemuria introducing characters Van Arkride, Agnes Claudel, and Bergard Zeman, as well as the story, settings, and new battle system elements.
Get the details below.
■ Characters
Van Arkride (voiced by Daisuke Ono)
Age: 25
“Running away or facing yourself… At the end of the day, it’s you who makes that decision.”
Tumblr media
A young man who works as a “Spriggan,” an occupation that helps those who have lost their way between the real world and the underworld. He may be thought to have quite a pragmatic personality due to being the only one in his family alive, but he does have his own methods when making decisions. (That being said, there is a danger his resolve may waver when in the face of his favorite sweets.) Summoned by the demon lord, he was born with the diabolic core housed inside him. Following the battle against the demon lord that separated from his body, he was able to successfully seal the diabolic core in a place between worlds.

Agnes Claudel (voiced by Miku Ito)
Age: 17
“Please, Van, don’t regret keeping the most important people of your life in your heart.”
Tumblr media
A second-year student at the renowned Aramis High School. She has a gentle and graceful demeanor, with a strong sense of determination. She begins to work part-time at the “Arkride Solutions Office” after requesting Van in the search of a Genesis—an orbment left to her by her great-grandfather. Although she has succeeded in collecting the Oct-Genesis that was scattered throughout the republic, she continues her part-time job at the Solutions Office working under Van, who she is in love with.

Bergard Zeman (voiced by Akio Otsuka)
Age: 69
“You’ve grown so much. I am thankful for my good fortune of being your master.”
Tumblr media
Formerly a wandering priest at the Septian Church, he is a broad and muscular elder man. As a master of the Kunlun style—one of the East’s three great martial art schools—he has many disciples all across the continent. To Van, Bergard is an important master, and a person he owes a great debt to. He cares a lot about Van, who comes from a special background, and strictly mentors him, both in martial arts and in all parts of life. Following the incident at the Republic, he travelled east. On his way, he reunites with Van, and extends a helping hand.

■ Story Prologue
“In the year 120X, everything will end.” These were the words that prophesized the demise of Zemuria by C. Epstein—Father of the Orbal Revolution. As “X Day” drew closer and closer, one Orbal rocket was to be launched from the large base built on the land of Kunlun. “Can humans reach beyond the atmosphere?” “What lies at the end of the earth?” “Will the human race be able to know the truths of this ‘world’?” As the entire world turned its focus on the biggest undertaking it has ever seen since the dawn of history, many forces from many lands were assembling at a single point—a certain young Spriggan at a certain location in the independent territory of Ored, also known as the Singularity. Will the rocket pierce through to the heavens, opening up a new future for Zemuria?
■ Settings / Keywords
Operation Startaker
A large project on a national scale advanced underwater by Roy Gramheart, the 23rd President of the Republic of Calvard. Aiming for the uncharted territory of “beyond the atmosphere,” the project will launch communication satellites via Orbal rockets, with the objective to eventually send humans into space. The significance of the project is said to be in finding answers to environmental problems through surface surveillance from extremely high altitudes, as well as the creation of a new Orbal communication network via satellites.
Tumblr media
Zech One Space Military Base
Southeast of the Republic, in the backlands of the Ishgal mountain range lies a large-scale facility built in a massive basin for the execution of Operation Startaker. Up until it was announced, the existence of this base was kept top secret, thought of as the nation’s most sensitive information.
Tumblr media
Ored
Set in Northern Zemuria, Ored is an independent state that borders Remiferia to the west and Calvard to the south. Despite being located even further north than the northern Calvard city of Messeldam, the climate is warm, allowing the state to develop agriculture independently from a long time ago. It is known for its idyllic farmland that covers most of the state, but in recent years, foreign-affiliated capital has also made strong strides, such as how the Marduk Company’s headquarters were placed there.
Tumblr media
The Marduk Company
A private military company (PMC) that has developed rapidly in recent years. It possesses and utilizes military gear and Orbal equipment with highly advanced technologies. Where most of these assets come from, however, is a mystery.

■ Battle System Introduction
The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki bases its battle system off that used by the its predecessor, The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak, which enables seamless switching between field and command-based battles. In The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki, new “Awakening” and “B.L.T.Z. (Blitz) System” elements have been added to the battle system.
New Field Battle Element: “Awakening”
Some characters such as Van, who has the ability to change into Grendel form, and Stigma-possessing Dominions, are able to enter an “Awakened” state by using their boost gauge during field battles, allowing them to temporarily increase their fighting abilities by a considerable amount. While in this “Awakened” state, it is not just the character’s physical appearance that changes. Attack power and speed also increase, allowing you to inflict consecutive attacks to gain the upper hand over your enemies.
—Transform into the Grendel form during battle!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
—Eliminate enemies swiftly with “Awakened” attack power!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
New Command Battle Element: “B.L.T.Z. (Blitz) System”
During command battles, when you execute normal attacks, Crafts (moves), or Arts (magic) after obtaining the Blitz Bonus, the “B.L.T.Z. Chain / B.L.T.Z. Support” will immediately be triggered. A follow-up attack from your partner, followed by another attack from the “B.L.T.Z. Chain” effect, or an increased effectiveness of Crafts or Arts from the “B.L.T.Z. Support.” There are many ways that it can change the course of battle.
—Attacking enemies with a B.L.T.Z. Bonus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
—More follow-up attacks with a B.L.T.Z. Chain!
Tumblr media
—Crafts / Arts during a B.L.T.Z. Bonus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
—Increased Crafts/Arts effectiveness with B.L.T.Z. Support!
Tumblr media
★★★”B.L.T.Z. Support” is Also Useful for Heal- or Aid-type Moves!★★★ “B.L.T.Z. Support” not only enhances offensive Crafts / Arts, it is also possible to increase effectiveness of heal- and aid-type moves. Furthermore, since “B.L.T.Z. Support” is also applied when using items, even when the Crafts / Arts gauge is not filled enough, it is possible to escape dangerous situations using “B.L.T.Z. Support” to enhance item effectiveness.
The Legend of Heroes: Kai no Kiseki – Farewell O Zemuria is due out in 2024 in Japan and Asia.
