Leaping blennies
Need a boost this Monday? Well, here's a dash of motivocean for you! Leaping blennies are amazing amphibious fish. They can launch themselves off of rocks into the air sometimes up to 50 times their body length! Not only do they flash their red dorsal fins to communicate, but they can also live on land temporarily in tide pools and rocky coasts. These extraordinary terrestrial fish shore know how to make a splash, both in and out of the water! 💦💪

Meta Knight’s number one motto is “Be prepared”, and his number two motto is “If I get possessed again I better get something cool out of it”
Originally I was gonna put this poster in the background but it got cluttered so here it is on its own cause I still think it’s funny:

Why can't injured muscles just be up front about the fact that they are going to hurt. Why do they need to wait? You don't realize how much you use some of them until every. single. movement. is paaaaaaain. I still have to go to work, I don't have time for this!

“National Clown Week”
Clowns are awful at keeping records.
I tried to find a photo of Bill Bailey (Baily?) and could only find a drawing of them. But I think that their design is based on the Sealtest Big Top clown. A show that Bailey was on, but that clown isn't them.
If I find an actual image of them in the future, I'll edit this strip.

This week’s Monday Philm is The Yearling (1994) — a cheesy 90s coming-of-age TV movie with hysterically indecipherable accents, yet a significant step up from last week’s The Getaway!
I don’t have much more to say about this one than I did after my first watch a few months ago, but it holds up alright. Kinda ridiculous how poorly written Jean Smart’s character is, my mom said Peter Strauss was too pretty to be believable in his role as Jody’s dad lol. You definitely feel the full 90 minutes but it’s such a condensed version of the book it’s almost too fast. Definitely not the worst TV movie ever, but it would’ve been nice to dig into the grit and emotion of the story a little more.
Still love that Phil’s Buck Forrester is a nice guy — a rough and sweaty dirty hick, no doubt, but a sweetheart. Maybe his second? third? character up to this point in his screen career who isn’t some kind of bad guy, lmao. He makes me laugh so much with that accent and the bear. His short fight with Lem is probably the best scene/piece of acting in the film — it’s almost jarring, this sudden, tense, charged, and phenomenal performance, a pure PSH outburst, amid an otherwise low-stakes adolescent TV movie. “He can’t hear you, but speak to him,” is still one of those lines that sticks with me for reasons bigger than the movie itself.
Wish I knew more about the production/behind-the-scenes stuff and how Phil ended up involved in this one. I read that it was filmed on-location in Florida (and maybe South Carolina?), he was probably 25 or 26. It’s neat to compare Phil’s performances in this and The Getaway — two enormously different roles that he probably tackled within weeks or months of each other, and the best and most engaged part of both movies.

The Monday Menu
So... only really a week into May and already it’s proving to be a tough month as far as fandom goes, (well, RL as well, but I’m sticking with fandom for the moment).
Some of you may have seen my TMI Tuesday post last week.  If you didn’t it’s HERE, please take the time to go and read it. So, I’m not the only content creator in the Rumbelle fandom who has noticed a lack of engagement that has been getting steadily worse for most writers, (there are a few exceptions, but on the whole it’s true that engagement has been lacking), and I’m sad to say we’ve already lost one writer, that I know of, to this lack; a crying shame since there work was among the most though provoking and well crafter work I’ve seen in a long time.
Where am I going with this? You may well ask.
Most content creators - writers, artists, digital media creators - hold down full time jobs and work around that in order to provide new fics, new artwork, new gifs etc. for us to enjoy. Content creators are human, and like most of us get discouraged when no one appears to be reading (and I use that to refer to all media) their work. They create out of a genuine love for their fandom, but their own love alone cannot sustain the demands (emotional, intellectual and just giving up their own time to produce the work) that are placed on them by the sense of ‘responsibility’ they feel toward getting the work out there for their audience. If the audience does not appear to be there it makes it all the harder to justify the time and energy they are expending for you.
You can see last month’s engagement for me personally in the section below, and my point is this... It doesn’t take a second to hit the Kudos button on AO3, or the like on a post here on Tumblr. Better yet, comment on their posts, engage with them on their weekly posts, their TMI Tuesdays, the post where they share their work. I can’t stress enough how important that is to content creators.
Let’s all do our part to support our writers and artist. Like.  Reblog. Comment. Show the love!
Here’s what I hope to be able to post this week.
Monday - The Monday Menu (6 notes in April) Tuesday - TMI Tuesday. (4 notes in April - 0 asks) Wednesday - WIP Wednesday. (6 notes in April) Thursday - Three Things Thursday. (5 notes in April) Friday - Final Line Friday. (None posted) Saturday - Secret Saturday. (None posted - no requests) Sunday - Seven Sentence Sunday.  (1 notes in April)
Writing this week: I will be working on  Lover’s Leap #14, and  Disparate Pathways - Chapter 41, not necessarily in that order.
As always my inbox is open for thoughts, questions, asks… I don’t restrict people to any particular day of the week, and I - like most fic authors - love to discuss things to do with fics and OUAT. Whenever I have cell service, I’ll check for comments and answer what I can.
So, another HUGE thank you to those readers who have left comments on AO3. *smooches*
Talk to me, peeps! My inbox is lonely.

Gently gripping my brain by the shoulders and saying "stop freaking out about being tired and the meds not feeling as effective as yesterday, we are still adjusting and equalizing, it's natural to have fluctuating energy levels even as someone physically and neurologically typical, so as much as we've improved we're still not ever going to be "normal" and that's fine, also we're continuing to cut back our caffeine intake and got three hours of sleep last night, genius, we're allowed to be tired."
