Mummy Dearest
Summary: Your emotions finally boil over while Leah is away.
Word Count: 1,962
I would love to talk to you all so please shoot a message my way letting me know what you think!
I have not proofread yet, please let me know of any major mistakes but I will go back tomorrow and fix anything then!
Tumblr media
You hadn’t expected to be in this position, backed into the corner of your kitchen. Your head hung low as you tried to block out the crying that echoed in the house. You loved the little girl that was sitting on the floor, tears streaming down her face, the toys she had been playing with grasped tightly in her hands.
Today had been the last of five days home alone without Leah. Leah who could cuddle and entertain your daughter Posie like no tomorrow. Leah who had been able to convince you having a baby was the right thing, she was out on injury at the time when you started the process. With a world of luck you’d gotten pregnant almost right away, but the pregnancy wasn’t easy. You had had hyperemesis gravidarum throughout your whole pregnancy, leaving you exhausted and wanting nothing more than for it to end. But, finally when it did you felt nothing towards Posie. There had been no rush of love, no overwhelming urge to care for her. Something Leah had instantly felt, and you knew she could see you didn’t. The look of disappointment that would cross her face every time the nurses tried to help you feed Posie with no success, everytime you never quite looked into her blue eyes, the eyes that matched Leah’s.
That had been nine months ago, and now while yes you love your daughter and you care for her you still don’t have the connection she has with Leah. Leah, the woman the small baby is crying for. Her shouts for Mama ringing in your head as you do everything you can to not blow up on the small innocent child in front of you.
Your small innocent child.
The first few days Leah had been gone, away with Arsenal at winter training; had gone okay. Posie was content with FaceTime calls and cuddling with Mummy, but as the days went on she began to push away from you. Clinging more and more to the FaceTime calls you were able to do. But today was different, there had been no morning FaceTime call as Leah was set to return home. But that had pushed Posie over the edge. She had been inconsolable as you tried to get her to eat her breakfast, and refused to be held. This led you to let her crawl on the floor, wanting nothing more than for her to stop screaming. And it had worked for a while, she had sat content on the kitchen floor playing with the toys you had brought in for her while you worked at the dining table. Always being sure to keep her in your line of sight. But then noon came and went, the normal lunch time FaceTime hadn’t happened and Posie was running on no food and very little sleep.
When the first waves of tears came you did everything you could to help, instantly going to try and cuddle her but you had been instantly met with her small hands hitting at your arms and chest. Her want to be held, being reserved for Leah. Sure it hurt to know your own baby wasn’t wanting you but all you could do at that point was try and help her through it. Eventually her tiny hands stopped as she sagged into you, still not taking food but was at least calm and quiet. Well, she had been until your phone rang, her face perking up at the thought  of her Mama being on the other end. So when you had to decline the call from your brother you knew it would set her off again. A fresh batch of tears and hitting started as soon as the call went to voicemail. Eventually all you could think to do was to set her back down, trying to hand her any toy you could find hoping one of them would calm her enough to stop crying. But nothing worked, her screams kept getting louder as tears formed in your eyes. You cover your ears as you tuck yourself into the corner, turning away from the red tear stained face of your daughter.
You had been trying so hard the past few months to bond with Posie but the feelings just aren't the same as what Leah and Posie have, and Leah had been hesitant to leave the two of you alone together for longer than a day or two. Something that tore at your heart even though you would never tell her that. But now, with the way you're crying and your baby is screaming out for her other mother, you're starting to think her worries had been fair.
All it took was one more extremely high pitched scream for you to turn towards Posie, tears streaming down your face. “I KNOW I’M NOT MAMA,” the dead silence that followed doing nothing to calm your nerves as your bright blue eyed baby stares back at you, her own tears still flowing down her face. The click of the front door shutting is the thing that snaps you back to reality. The sound of Leah's bag hitting the floor, her sneak clad feet padding against the floor as she rushes towards the screaming.
“What in god's name is going on?” Her question is left unanswered as she stares between the two of you. You're sure you look like a wreck, hair thrown up in a haphazard bun, tear stained sweatshirt, your face puffy and red from crying.
“MAMA,” Leah tears her eyes away from you at the sound of Posie’s scream. Instantly bending down to collect her in her arms. The baby instantly calms as Leah starts to sway her back and forward, wiping at her face to attempt and dry some of her tears.
You sink into yourself as you watch the two, you know you aren’t Posies main person but you hadn’t ever thought it would be this bad. You had been trying really trying, and the bond just wasn’t there. Knowing now that this will just confirm to Leah that you can’t be left alone with your daughter. The daughter that clearly doesn’t want to be left alone with you, a fresh wave of tears start forming in your eyes as you stare at the floor. The soft whispers of Leah talking to Posie being the only sound in the now very quiet flat.
“Y/N,” Leah says, breaking you from the trance you had been in. “What happened?”
“I don’t know Leah,” You choke out, tears threatening to spill over at any moment.
“Well,” She starts shifting Posie to a more comfortable position. “You must have some kind of idea, she doesn’t get like this for no reason.”
“But she did,” You protest. “She had been until today, we were fine. I thought maybe we were finally bonding some, then the FaceTime call didn’t come and she refused to eat or be held by me. All she wants is you, I can’t change that.” The tightness in your chest grows as you try and defend yourself against a fight that hasn’t even happened. “She loves you more Leah, that's all that happened, I failed as her mother and she only wants you.” You don’t even give the blond a chance to respond before pushing yourself away from the counter, rushing past her towards your bedroom needing the peace and comfort of your own bed.
------------------------------
You don’t know how long you had been alone in your room, you could hear Leah moving around in the flat most likely getting Posie something to eat. Your tears had stopped a while ago, but the empty feeling that now settled into your chest was a new kind of pain you haven't experienced before.
“Y/N,” Leah whispers as the door creaks open. “Y/N I know you’re awake, can we talk please.”
You had planned to stay quiet, the excitement you had once had at the idea of Leah being home was now gone.
“MumMum,” the shortened nickname for you breaking you slightly. Posie hadn’t so much as mumbled your nickname in weeks, normally going for Mama any chance she could. “MumMum.”
“I know baby Mummy is having a hard time,” Leah whispers just loud enough for you to hear. “Do you want to give Mummy a cuddle?” Before you have a chance to deny them Leah has already climbed into the bed behind you, setting Posie down in between the two of you. Posies small hands grasping onto your arm as she pulls herself up. Her eyes locked onto your unmoving form.
“MumMum,” she gurgles out.
“Leah,” You breath out. “Please.”
“Y/N, we need to talk, and Posie needs a cuddle from her Mummy.” Leah's words don’t do much to move you. To you they feel like no more than a performance. Why would Posie want you with Leah right there?
“No she doesn’t,” is all you mutter out. Rolling over slightly to look at Leah, her tight lipped smile not quite reaching her eyes. Posie taking this moment with your guard down to clamber onto your stomach, laying her head on your chest. The moment felt sweet and it would have been had you not been feeling so crap about your parenting skills.
“I beg to differ.” Leah says brushing hairs away from your face. “Now, what's going through your head?”
“I just,” you sigh, running your hand up and down Posies back. “I thought that this week was going fine, but as soon as she couldn’t see you she flipped a switch. It felt like all the progress we had made wasn’t actually progress; it was her tolerating me in between seeing you. I know I’ve struggled to connect with her. I know I haven't been the best Mum but I’m trying and to have her reject me all morning simply cause she hadn’t seen you cemented that I’m nothing more then the Mum there when her Mama isn’t. I know you were worried about me being alone with her for so long and for you to walk into that….” You drift off, not quite sure how to finish what you were thinking.
“Y/N,” Leah sighs. “Do you think I don’t trust you with her?”
“I mean Leah, when you walk in to me screaming at her and her in tears, the fact that you expressed worry about being gone, the fact that if you have to go away for more than a few days she usually goes with you and your mom. I know you say it's so I don’t have to worry about her while working but I know it's because you don’t trust me alone with her.” Your tone is expressionless as you stare at her, the fight in you gone.
“Y/N, I’m sorry I’ve made you feel that way. I trust you with Posie, I’m sorry it had to come to this for you to be able to tell me.” Leah's tone is soft as she places her hand on top of yours.
“It’s fine,” you sigh, laying your head back against your pillow. “I think I need to talk to someone though, I’m worried I’m the issue between me and Posie.”
“You can talk to someone, we can find you someone my love.” Leah whispers as she lays down next to you, cuddling into your side. Her head resting on your shoulder as the room slowly grows dark. Posies soft snores being the only noise you can hear as she sleeps against your chest. Leah quickly drifts to sleep, her own snores joining Posies.
You however stay wide awake, your thoughts racing a mile a minute in your mind. Peace being something you haven't felt in a long time.l

—LIKE REAL PEOPLE DO.
Tumblr media
pairing: leah williamson x reader
synopsis: a collection of private moments from a relationship between two public figures.
word count: 3.4k
warnings: IMPLICIT SMUT
a/n: this fic was proudly sponsored by hozier’s entire discography and my need to get a gf
SEQUEL: DO YOU THINK I HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU?
Tumblr media
ONE. As It Was.
As it always was, London was raining when you came home.
The pitter-patter of the rain hitting the window panes reminded you of childhood, when it was autumn and smelled like the earth, and burying yourself in the piles of dry leaves in the backyard was like swimming in the clouds.
The rain reminded you of love and hot cocoa and scented candles.
The apartment was bathed in an orange hue from the three candles placed neatly on the coffee table when you dragged your suitcase inside. You could still hear the rain when you saw the way her eyes lit up and felt her heart pressed against yours.
You let yourself smile like it was the easiest thing in the world; because it was. You were home because you were with her.
Tumblr media
TWO. Eat Your Young.
“Babe! What d’you want for dinner?” You heard her call from the living room.
You had just finished a chapter from your book. “Eh . . . pasta?”
“We already had pasta last night, love.”
“More pasta?” You smiled sheepishly, seeing the way she rolled her eyes but went along with your idea.
To her, there was never anything she could have the heart to deny you from, especially now that she had you back after having lent you to your work for so long.
You were supposed to be halfway across the world filming your new movie. It was only because of the writer’s strike, an unforeseen event, that gave you back to her. You had flown back from a shoot to be there for her in the days after she ruptured her ACL and when she had her surgery, but she found herself missing you the moment you left for work again.
Music played softly from the speaker on the kitchen counter as you chopped the cherry tomatoes while she boiled the noodles since that was the only thing you were okay with her doing without burning the entire building down.
“Remember to let the water boil first,” you said without turning around.
“I did,” she whined, her words trailing longer than necessary if she was telling the truth.
You stopped chopping and glanced behind your shoulder with a deadpan. “Leah.”
The water was clearly not bubbling, and yet the poor rigatoni noodles were already dunked in the pot.
“I’m sorry, I forgot again,” the girl smiled sheepishly.
You rolled your eyes at her and shook your head as she sidled up behind you with her arms around your waist.
You could never grow tired of being held in her arms like this, the warmth created by her chest pressing up against your back, and the anticipation of her timid kisses against your neck. The knife in your hand had long been set down in fear of injury by your trembling hands. Your footballer always liked to tease you until you had no choice but to submit.
“Am I forgiven?” Her voice was husky in your ear.
You were quick to regain your composure before you turned around. “Depends on if those noodles are edible or not.”
“Or we could just ditch dinner and eat each other instead.”
“Cute,” you grinned and pressed your lips against hers. You heard the slightest whimper when you gathered her bottom lip with your teeth and lightly tugged on it. “Needs some seasoning. Otherwise, good enough.”
“That’s what I meant, obviously.”
In the end, the pasta was long forgotten, and you had to order a pizza instead because, by the time she was done, you could barely walk to the other side of the kitchen.
Tumblr media
THREE. I, Carrion (Icarian).
You had always been uncomfortable with silence. It was why you brought your speaker everywhere, why you preferred the city over the countryside, why you always felt the need to fill the silence in a room with conversation where there were other people. To you, silence meant a weapon, a way of waging war without actually doing it—the cowardice of dishonesty. So any chance you had to snuff out a glimpse of it, you did. Most of the time, though, the only war waged was the one you did to yourself in your mind.
But whenever you are with her, none of those threats present themselves. She has made silence enjoyable and something you wish you had learned to appreciate earlier, not fear it.
She had put on a movie for the both of you to watch on the couch. You usually felt the need to provide commentary were you with friends, but you were content with enjoying the movie in silence, occasionally looking over to your blonde lover to admire her on the other end of the couch. Your left leg was currently stretched across the cushions, as Leah gave you a foot massage whilst watching the movie.
Sometimes she didn’t feel real, like it was all a sick and twisted dream waiting to drop you on your head when you wake up. But it never did, because every time you reached for her, she was always there; even when you were timezones apart, she would find a way to be there for you in spirit.
“Babe, watch the movie. I like this one,” she spoke, pulling you out of your thoughts.
“I feel like it should be me giving you a foot massage,” you said, lifting your chin towards her healing knee.
“Nah. You were the one sitting on a 12-hour flight to get back here,” she put pressure in the center of your foot.
With your arm on the backrest, you lifted it to brush the tips of your fingers against her hair, inching closer toward the skin on her neck. She noticed, of course, and sent a cheeky grin your way.
Your lover smiled and laughed like a child does. You loved it whenever she showed her teeth when she smiled, stripping down the front of the stoic and reliable captain of European champions that she had to be. You hated that she always lifted others up, yet put so much pressure on herself. You wished that she would be selfish sometimes, for when you weren’t there to pick up the pieces.
You never fared well, being away from her for long, which was why when she pulled you towards her and closed the distance between the two of you on the couch, you obliged.
“I love you,” she whispered after pressing a slow kiss on your lips.
With a lovesick sigh, you caressed her cheek and repeated her words. You loved the way her blue eyes narrowed watching you when you were so close to her face. The movie was running on the TV, but the only one you wanted to watch was her. You’d have to rewind it later.
Tumblr media
FOUR. To Someone From A Warm Climate (Uiscefhuaraithe).
There was a simplicity in all of it. This aspect of your life that, amidst the chaos and complications and unfairness in the world, was just that. Love. It was simple, it was sweet, it was yours.
It reminded you of a quote you read once: “He is half of my soul, as the poets say.” If anyone asked you why you loved her, you wouldn’t be able to answer. It would simply be that because she was she, and you were you.
Maybe Zeus never intended for soulmates to find each other. He was the one who split them up in the first place because he knew they would be impossible to part if the two halves merged.
She is half of your soul, as the poets say.
There was something so transcending about loving someone, and having it reciprocated. Every part of it; the good, the bad, the ugly. But you wanted all of it. You wanted to experience everything with her, because she was half of your soul, and it was the only way you could ever feel close to whole again before Zeus split you into two.
Your lover was panting quietly on top of you, her golden hair falling over her face like a lion’s mane. Her eyes fluttered close, her lips parted, her skin was hot to the touch. You watched, seeing the slightest shift in her face as she pulled your legs to her chest, the friction of her rocking slowly turning palpable as it fell into a rhythm. You would hold onto her, your fingers pressing down to create temporary craters into her skin, treading lightly, not wanting to disturb her pleasure, like a lone astronaut exploring a rogue planet.
You sighed contentedly hearing her quiet whines, an indication of an impending release. Your lover has never been loud, like she was saving everything she was feeling for you like everything would only be contained in these four walls, only for the both of you to share.
At some point, she had mumbled something and leaned down to flip you on your front. Even while her movements were restricted by her healing knee, she still liked to be as rough as she could, and you liked it, when she was always so sweet and gentle out of bed. It made you feel wanted, the way she pinned you to the bed and pressed herself against you, the way she intertwined your fingers and coaxed you through your high and kissed you until your lips were bruised and pulsating.
She made you feel wanted, even after you both had given each other euphoria, her frantic kisses to your skin always managed to elicit short giggles out of you. You would whisper in her ear after she had rolled over, the bedsheet warm and damp where she lay, holding her lean body close to yours, just like before Zeus had split you in half.
You are half of her soul, as the poets say, and unless a primordial god physically grabbed you by the waist and tore you away from your soulmate, you would stay here, one moment after another, until infinity. After that, you’d wake up the next morning and do it all over again.
Tumblr media
FIVE. Wasteland, Baby!
Your lover was a light sleeper. You had discovered that within the first few months of dating. The way she stirred awake was not dissimilar to how a fussy baby wakes up at the slightest of noises. Usually, she would be quite grumpy as well.
Your circadian rhythm looked more like arrhythmia with the jet lag you were experiencing, in addition to the irregular hours you slept due to having to adjust for filming. Which was why you were in the living room, reading, so your tossing and turning wouldn’t disturb her sleep.
Once again, whenever you were with her, the silence didn’t bother you. Not when you were bathed in her scent wearing her sweater and the premise of her resting a room away from you.
It was around two in the morning when you heard the bedroom door open and close, and the sound of quiet feet shuffling on the floor.
“Hey, you. Why are you awake?” You asked gently, extending a hand out to her.
“I woke up to use the bathroom and you weren’t there,” her bottom lip jutted out like it always did when she wanted your attention.
You stifled a giggle and a coo at how adorable a 26-year-old woman could be. “I just thought I’d leave you be since I couldn’t sleep.”
Without prompting, your lover made herself comfortable on the couch and snuggled into your side. “You’re wearing my jumper.”
You continued reading with one hand while the other rested on her head, and stroking it lightly. “Yeah, found it lying around.” You placed a short kiss on her hair.
“I love this, Y/N,” she said, her words nearly unintelligible from mumbling into the fabric of your sweatshirt. “I made a Pinterest board the other day for our future home.”
“Ooh, tell me more.”
“I’d like to live in the countryside somewhere, with like a farm. It’ll be a cottage with vines all over the walls and everything, wooden kitchen set, a sunroom.”
“I can see that,” you said, “what about the city? You ever dreamed of living in New York? Paris? Hong Kong?”
“I’d feel like a fish out of water. I can barely stomach London. You’d been to all those places.”
You have, but nowhere felt like home unless you were with her. You could make a home in Antarctica if she was there with you.
“All of them are overrated anyway.” You hummed. “I like it wherever I’m with you.”
Her nose crinkled whenever you’d say cheesy stuff like that. You never knew how much those words made her heart skip a beat, as she buried her face in your neck.
“I realized as I said it,” you scrunched your face too.
“Working with Wes Anderson made you a sap now, hasn’t it?” She quite enjoyed this side of you. “It’s fine. I like it.”
Sleep found her again shortly after. In the morning, she woke with a sore back, but her heart was full, realizing she had been tangled in your arms all night.
Tumblr media
SIX. Swan Upon Leda.
To know pain; the kind of pain that cuts through your flesh and leaves you bleeding dry. A stinging sensation that soon turns into agonizing hellfire and the knowing that there are several more spirals of hell still waiting to make you bleed. It was to witness someone who was half of your soul be in pain whilst you were powerless against the evil, and all you could do was pray that it would spare your soulmate and take you instead.
Your hand clasped around hers like iron chains, rubbing her back soothingly, as if the warmth from the back might manifest in her front and assuage the pain. She lay on the bathroom floor, her breathing slow and hard, like she was grappling with the evil that, by the looks of it, was winning. Clutching the heating pad to her stomach, her only lifeline, she curled away from you and into herself even further.
“Love, let’s move you to the bedroom where you can lay comfortably, yeah?” You asked gently.
She huffed and grunted. “Can’t move. Hurts.”
Your lover, your Lioness, Queen of Europe, falling apart by an invisible evil, immobilizing her like a wounded deer. The coldness of the tiles couldn’t have helped, but she couldn’t move.
Spare her. Give me the pain instead.
You leaned down, lowering yourself slowly to the cold, until you were flat on the floor too. Gently, you pulled her to turn to face you. Your Lioness was clenching her jaw, a vein splitting her forehead from how hard she was trying to pretend it didn’t bother her.
And it stung even more when she let out a choked sob.
Then she said with a trembling sigh, “Don’t want you to see me like this.”
Her face was stained with streaks of silent tears, a sign of the raging battle she had to endure for years finally getting the best of her. But the evil had never seen the best of her; she reserved it all for you.
“Oh, baby.” Your hand came up to cup her face, the frame that held the entire world.
It didn’t matter that your lover was curled up on the bathroom floor, she was still your bravest girl, your strongest soldier, and your fiercest Lioness.
“You’re the strongest person I know,” you said sincerely, “and I’m not leaving you, not now, not ever.”
Your lover beamed tearfully like sunshine in the rain and clung herself onto you.
Young love was the thing of fairytales. You would never claim to have it all figured out, but if what you had wasn’t love, you didn’t know the half of anything.
Tumblr media
SEVEN. Like Real People Do.
As serious as your lover made herself out to be, she was the biggest goof on the planet the moment a drop of alcohol entered her system. Never acted out of line, never said anything that she’d regret in the morning, just the rowdiest thing that considered waving her arms in the air while wobbling back and forth dancing. It made a spectacular scene to watch, especially whenever she was with her best friend, whom you had to thank for bringing her into your life.
Even the people in her life who knew her as responsible and trustworthy would be concerned at this entirely different side to her, to which you only waved them off with a laugh, and said, “She’ll be fine.”
She would always be because she always had you to take care of her.
“Water, babe?” She knew to listen to you and chugged the whole thing in one breath.
“Come dance with me?” She offered when the DJ slowed the music.
She looked too good not to, so you took her hand and followed her to the dance floor. Once there, she wrapped her arms around your waist and pressed a kiss on your forehead. “Come closer. You smell so good.”
You laughed. “Creep.”
“This is our song,” she chuckled.
The familiar melody elicited distant memories of shy ‘hello’s and stolen glances, her best friend pushing her towards you, and her keeping your number on the phone all night until she finally gathered the courage to press on it.
It was the first song on every playlist you sent each other, like a stamp, a greeting, a confession.
It was the song that played when it was just the two of you alone after she became her country’s pride and joy.
“I remember,” you said, brushing a strand of her hair back from her blue eyes, dazed ones that looked at you like you held the world in your hands. “I thought you’d be more confident, just from seeing how you are on the pitch. It was very endearing.”
“I was nervous, okay?” She groaned, laughing quietly. “I didn’t wanna embarrass myself in front of a movie star.”
“I’m glad you asked me to dance, even though—”
“I’m shit at dancing, yeah.”
You giggled, and bumped her nose. “I feel so lucky to have you in my life.”
She was swaying you back and forth, humming to the song gently, a far cry from the first time you had asked her to dance, and she panicked and said her legs were made for football and not dancing.
“I’m still shit at dancing,” she chuckled.
“I don’t care,” you shook your head. “I still love you.”
“Even if I’ve got two left feet?”
“Mmhm.”
She grinned and kissed you, inhaling deeply. “I can feel Alex taking pictures of us—Yup, her phone is out and it’s pointing at us. Very subtle, Alex.” You laughed when you turned around to see your lover already flipping the bird at her best friend.
“We do have her to thank for getting us to meet.”
“That’s ‘cause she beat me to it first. I would have found a way to you.”
“You didn’t even know me then, babe.”
“Yeah, but I’d still find my way to you.” She was giggling because you had pulled a face. “What? It’s true.”
Leah loved deeply, and boldly. You made her feel special like she was the only person in the world. You also made her feel ordinary, like she wasn’t the face of a nation and only any other stranger walking down the street. Inside the little bubble you were both in, you were just Leah and Y/N, two people in love.
The song had come to its end, and yet she still hadn’t let you go. Three little words sat on the tip of both of your tongues. You pressed a kiss to her lips first. She kissed you back, on the lips, then on the neck softly.
I love you.
I love you.
What you didn’t know was that she planned to make you a promise of forever, with a ring hidden in a drawer waiting at home.
Simple. Sweet. Ours.

EIGHT. De Selby (Part 1).
“Lee?”
“Hm?”
“Would you still love me if I was a worm?”
“Mate, honestly like—“

actually finished writing something! wooo! the poll i put out was a close one, but this pair ultimately won. thanks to all who voted.
i’ve decided to split this into two parts, so this isn’t the end peoples!
part 2
———
“Alright. Remember, when we get there—”
“—pretend that we’re still happily married. I know.” You say annoyed, getting out of the car.
“Hey, don’t be like that!” Leah gets out of the car, catching up to you.
“Be like what? I’m not the one who got us in this situation.”
“Can we just be civil? This is the last time we’ll go through this.”
“Piss off will you! We wouldn’t have to act civil if you kept your mouth to yourself. And you had the audacity to file for divorce.”
Before Leah could reply, the front door opens to reveal Amanda, Leah’s Mom.
“Oh, I’ve missed you girls so much!”
Putting up a smile on your face, you engulfed the woman in a hug.
“Missed you too Amanda.”
“Come in! Come in!”
“Oi! David how’ve you been pops?”
“Oh, I’ve been wonderful! Glad to have you here!” He pulls you into a hug.
“There’s my favorite sister!” You hear behind you, Jacob just coming down the stairs from his room.
“Come here you! It’s been a while, huh?”
“It has! You gotta visit me more often.” You tense a bit, but not enough for him to notice in your embrace, putting up a smile on your face.
“I’ll try to visit more.”
What you don’t see behind you is Leah watching your interactions with her family.
You’ve known each other young. You’ve both been dating since you were fifteen, marrying at nineteen, divorced at twenty-one.
Her family’s have welcomed you with open arms since the beginning. You were her first serious relationship. The only one of her girlfriends that her family loved. You’ve had your whole life basically planned out, Leah would become a footballer, you a doctor, marriage, kids, the dream basically.
Leah didn’t know the exact reason why she did what she did, but it happened and she couldn’t take it back. She knew this teammate of hers has liked her for a while and never told her off.
She woke up to an unfamiliar bed, an arm around her that certainly wasn’t you. She regretted it the moment she woke up, didn’t know how to tell you, but you found out before she could. Ashamed of herself, Leah filed for divorce.
———
Leah didn’t know what she was thinking divorcing you. She didn’t have the right to be the one to file as she was the one who fucked up. It was impulsive and shameful. It was the best option she could think of at the time.
Now here she was, five years later, at the Emirates training grounds, about to run for the first time since her ACL injury. She missed you so much during this time. Every time she was injured in any way, you were always by her side nursing her back to health. You were her support system, making her fall more in love with you. This time, without you by her side, she realized how much she took you for granted, how she didn’t show you enough love, betraying you in the worst way possible.
She’d already signed the divorce papers, pressuring you to do the same all while making you go to her family’s for a dinner pretending that nothing has changed between the two of you. It was when she finally saw your signature on the papers was when she realized how she’s lost you for good.
———
Getting back home after a family walk, Amanda spots a stack of papers on the kitchen counter, a folded paper on top, along with two rings. Curious, she opens it up and quickly skims through them, shock fills her body after she finished reading.
“Leah!” She yells for her daughter.
“Yeah, mum?” Leah walks into the kitchen to see her mom holding something up.
“What the hell is this?”
Leah being clueless, grabs the sheet, reading it herself.
Leah,
I’ve finally signed everything you’ve been wanting me to sign. I don’t know why I’ve put it off for so long even if I’m not the one at fault. Guess it’s just hard to let go of the one you love the most.
Don’t contact me. Don’t look for me. You’re free.
Yn
Leah couldn’t even respond to her mother. All the emotions she bottled up came at her all at once, breaking down in front of her family. Six years of relationship, one year of marriage over.

“That’s it, baby. Just like that.” Leah moaned, head tilting back onto the pillow as one of her hands gripped onto the bed sheet, the other holding your wrist as you slid another finger into her.
“Like this?” You breathed, eyes focused on hers, desperately trying to make her feel good.
“Exactly like that.” Leah said, hips lifting along with your thrusts.
“You close?” You question, bringing your lips to her neck, sucking and biting at any skin you could reach.
“So close,” she mumbled at the shell of your ear before nibbling on it.
“Yeah? You gonna come?” You said, letting out a shaky breath at her actions.
“Mhm,” Leah hummed as you turned your face to kiss her. Her tongue gliding against your bottom lip, begging for entrance.
Her legs wrapped themselves around your waist, pulling you impossibly closer. Muffling a moan with your mouth, you could feel how her walls pulsed around your fingers, clenching as you curled them.
The way her legs were around your waist meant that your bodies were mere inches apart, your palm brushing against her clit every time you pumped your fingers into her. Thrusting your fingers into her at a quicker pace, Leah broke away from the kiss with a guttural moan.
You were knuckle deep inside her, pulling out the most sinful noises, going from breathy moans in each other's mouths to loud, lewd moans that the neighbours surely didn't appreciate.
Curling your fingers right at her g-spot, her hips bucked, trying to ride your fingers as you brutally pumped them in and out of her.
"Right there, please." You curled your fingers and brushed your hand against her clit at the right time making her tighten around you. Her teeth sunk into your shoulder, muffling the scream that left her lips, riding out her orgasm.
“Easy, easy.” You mumbled, kissing her softly on the lips as you pulled your fingers out.
Her chest rose and fell with each ragged breath, eyes watching you, waiting for your next move. Kissing her once more, you made your way down her body. Placing hot open mouthed kisses everywhere you could, you felt how the muscle beneath tensed at your touch. Occasionally biting gently into her skin to leave small, faint marks.
Kissing at her inner thighs, your hand gripped her ass. You didn’t waste any time, licking up her still sensitive core and teasing your tongue at her entrance.
Leah moved one of her hands to grasp at the pillow behind her head, the other finding its way to your head, tugging at your hair at every action you made.
Her legs tightened around your head, ankles locking around your back to keep you in place as you thrusted your tongue into her. You move one of your hands to circle her clit and continue to move your tongue inside her.
“Shit, y/n.” Leah groaned out into the air, hips bucking into your face as she came again.
Kissing your way back up to Leah’s face, you propped yourself up with one hand, hovering over her. You watched the way her body reacted to the come down of her orgasm, her chest rose and fell with staggered breaths, her legs twitched, sweat dripped down her face and hair stuck to the base of her neck and forehead.
But in your opinion, she looked as beautiful as ever.
You’d never tell her that, of course. The two of you were only friends with benefits and you didn’t want to ruin what you had together. Even though you both were not together, no one else had her the way you did, and you were fine with that.
Looking down at the girl below you, her swollen lips formed into a smile, unable to stop the chuckle that escaped her causing you to furrow your eyebrows in question.
“What's so funny?” You wondered, manoeuvring to the side, falling back onto the bed beside Leah.
“Nothing,” Leah said, tilting her head towards you. “It’s just - never mind.”
“What's up?” You questioned, confused.
“My brother’s getting married.” Leah started.
“And you thought about that during sex?” You teased, trying to loosen the now tense atmosphere.
“Shush you.” Leah smiled, slapping you gently on the stomach. “I’m expected to have a plus one but I'm clearly very much single.”
“Okay, ouch.” You mumbled jokingly, placing a hand over your heart.
“What? I can’t exactly tell my mum that we’re in a situationship.” Leah huffed, looking up to the ceiling.
“Sure you can.” You said with a shrug.
“Oh yeah, because that’s a great conversation.” Leah said sarcastically. “Hey mum, me and y/n are fuck buddies!”
“Not like that, jesus!” You said, covering your head with your hands.
“Wait -”
“No,” you muttered, shaking your head.
“What? I haven’t said anything yet!” Leah protested, moving to sit on your lap.
“Mhm, ‘yet’ being the key word.” You replied, placing a hand behind your head whilst the other rested on her thigh.
“Hear me out.” Leah begged, placing her hands on your stomach. “Please?”
“Fine, what could you possibly want me to do?” You wondered, fingers tapping rhythmically on her skin.
“Can you be my plus one?” Leah asked, wincing as she awaited your reaction.
“Leah -” You sighed, contemplating a way to go about this.
“Please. It’ll be perfect.” Leah cut in, trying to defend her case. “We already know each other and my family knows you -”
“Yes, but -”
“All we have to do is act like a couple.” Leah said, shrugging. “What’s so bad about that?”
What's so bad about that? Oh nothing unless you count your huge crush on her. But like she said, what’s so bad about that?
“I don’t know.” You trailed off, looking up to the ceiling.
“C’mon y/n.” Leah said, her voice dropping an octave as she pressed her lips to your ear. She rolled her hips, the action making goosebumps rise like a wildfire all over your skin. “I need you.”
“Leah I -” you said, a chuckled breath escaping your lips.
“For me?” Leah asked again, her hands finding your shoulders as she rocked her hips back and forth against yours.
“Fine.” You mumbled, finally giving in. “but we need ground rules.”
“Really?” Leah huffed, stopping her movements. “Where’s the fun in that?”
“It’s so you don't fall in love with me.” You teased, flipping the two of you over so Leah was back underneath you.
“Deal, but let's figure out the details in the morning.” Leah said breathlessly, bringing your head down to connect her lips with yours.
“That’s fine by me.” You grinned, kissing her with a newfound hunger.
The neighbours definitely hated the two of you. But you both didn't care and it was now the late hours of the next morning.
You managed to venture to the kitchen where Leah was sitting on the countertop whilst you made some cheese toasties for brunch. After plating up the food, you both decided to talk about the rules of your new arrangement.
“So,” you started, taking a bite out of the toastie, “how's this going to go?”
“It was your idea for some ground rules.” Leah shrugged, crossing her legs on the counter.
“Okay, no over the top flirting.” You said, nodding your head, proud of your answer.
“Okay,” Leah chuckled, “and what does that entail?”
“No telling me to fuck you on the dance floor.” You said bluntly with a teasing smile.
“That’s the best you got?” Leah asked, tilting her head.
“I know we’re going to have to make it believable and all that -”
“And all that?” Leah replied, and even though she wasn't smirking it could be heard through her voice.
“Leave me alone.” You huffed, finishing off your toastie.
“I’m kidding.” Leah laughed at your child-like actions. “But yes, we will need to make it believable. Holding hands, flirting - kissing - the whole shebang.”
“You say ‘kissing’ like it's a scandal.” You said, putting your plate in the sink.
“Just no fucking on the dance floor.” Leah remarked, an eyebrow raised in a teasing manner.
“Just no fucking on the dance floor.” You parroted with a nod.
That was all easier said than done. You were sure you could survive a day of acting like a couple, right? What could possibly go wrong?
With all the plans set and arranged, you were ready to go to the wedding. The two of you had talked through all your backstory, when you met, how you got together and who asked who out.
What you weren't prepared for was the wedding to be this sunday. Which was in less than twenty-four hours. No amount of time could prepare you for this, even the reassurance from Leah.
But when you were standing outside the venue, hand in hand with Leah, heart pounding out of your chest, your nerves seemed to dissipate.
The wedding was lovely, but that's not what you were worried about. It was the aftermath, the conversing with family. You spoke to a few of them before but only for a few fleeting moments.
Now, however, you’d have to speak to them all.
Psyching yourself up for what was about to happen, you looked to your side, smiling when you saw Leah already staring at you. With a gentle squeeze of her hand, the two of you walked inside.
Immediately, Leah’s family rushed to greet you both, eager to know all about your relationship. The two of you are quick to converse with everyone, happily answering all the questions being thrown at you.
You managed to sit down at a table, you and Leah only having a small moment to yourselves until more family members came over.
“Leah, it’s been ages!” somebody said, embracing Leah with a warm hug, “and who’s this..?”
“Y/n.” You greeted with a smile.
“My girlfriend.” Leah added, looking back to you.
“Girlfriend, well I never.” they teased, poking Leah’s side. “How rude of me, I'm Leah's cousin, Holly.”
“Oh, lovely to meet you.” You said, not really knowing what to do.
“So, how did you two meet?” Holly asked, bringing up a chair to sit with you and Leah.
“On the pitch actually.” Leah said, placing a hand over yours.
“Ooh, enemies to lovers type of trope.” Holly joked, leaning in further to find out more.
“You could call it that.” You mumbled, shifting in your chair.
“How so?” Leah questioned, turning to the side.
“You did slide tackle me, after I had passed the ball.” You said with a slight shrug.
“Oh please, you still had the ball.” Leah scoffed, shaking her head.
“Leah, I quite literally rolled into a camera man at the sheer force of that tackle.” You said, raising an eyebrow at her.
“I barely touched you.” Leah said, crossing her arms.
“I went flying!” you exclaimed, raising your hands in the air.
“Young love.” Holly chuckled, taking a sip from her drink.
“Anyway,” leah said, brushing over the conversation, “I went to speak to y/n after the match and she said -”
“Give me your number as an apology for the tackle.” You said, a proud smirk on your face.
“Not even a hello?” Holly asked, a teasing tone laced in her voice.
“I think it was a fair deal, a date as an apology.” You defended good-heartedly.
“And did you go on that date?” Holly wondered, looking at Leah.
“Yeah, and I’ll give it to y/n, it must’ve been the best date I've ever been on.” Leah said, turning to you at the last part of her sentence.
“Go on many dates then, do you?” Holly said, looking at Leah knowingly.
“Oh shut up.” Leah muttered, pushing Holly away gently.
“That’s how you met, but how did you get together?”
“After our little impromptu date, we started to hang out more and more.” Leah said, a small smile forming on her face at the memories popping to mind.
“And after she convinced me to transfer to Arsenal, my feelings for Leah seemed to grow.” You said, adding to the story.
“We spent the majority of our time together, on and off the pitch.” Leah said, intertwining your hands. “And I just found myself falling for her. I mean, how could I not?”
“Who asked who out?” Holly asked, intrigued by the story.
“I asked Leah.” You said. “I was a total wreck -”
“But it was cute.” Leah said, smiling softly.
“And where did you two go?” Holly questioned.
“An arsenal match.” You chuckled.
“Of course.”
The three of you laughed together, and, for a moment, it felt like you were actually a part of Leah’s family.
“What are you three laughing about over here?” Jacob, Leah’s brother, asked, walking over to the table. “Nothing inappropriate, I hope.”
“All the inappropriate things you could think of.” Leah remarked, pulling you closer to her.
“Okay, okay, spare me the details.” Jacob said, holding his hands up in surrender.
“How’s life now as a married man?” Holly wondered, as Jacob sat beside her.
“Better than ever.” Jacob smiled before turning to you and Leah. “How's life coupled up, Leah?”
“Better than ever.” Leah parroted, as you gently traced your fingers over her knuckles.
“Am I going to have to give the brotherly talk?” Jacob asked, looking at you with a playful glare.
“You don’t have to worry about me.” You said, looking at Leah with nothing but love.
“Good, now how about a dance?” Jacob said, pulling Holly out of her chair, her doing the same to Leah.
“You coming, y/n?” Leah wondered, holding her hand out for you to take but you gently shook your head.
“In a bit,” you said with a tight lipped smile, “my shoes are killing me.” you added with a laugh, trying to make it believable.
“Okay, I'll be back for you in a sec.” Leah said, pressing a kiss to your cheek before making her way to the dance floor.
You watched on as Leah danced around with her family, still nursing your drink from earlier, you gave one last look at Leah before grabbing a jacket and making your way outside.
The cold air brought a chill to your skin but it was much welcomed. The stiflingly hot room was starting to give you a headache and on top of that, your mind just couldn't deal with the fact that Leah wasn’t actually yours.
“So you're the one who’s stolen my daughter's heart.” a voice said from behind you.
“Oh! Mrs Will -” You said, turning around startled.
“Amanda is fine dearie, Mrs Williamson makes me feel so old.” she said, waving a dismissive hand with a smile.
“Amanda, I -“
“Aren’t actually in a relationship with Leah?” she asked with a knowing look.
“How -“
“I’m a mother, darling, I know everything.”
“Then you must know how much I truly do love your daughter.” You said without missing a beat.
“Oh, yes. Very much so. I saw it as soon as I saw you.”
“So then you must also know that she doesn’t like me back.” You said, looking down to the floor, your heart clenching at what you just said.
“Quite the opposite.” Amanda said, a smile displayed on her face.
“Leah could never. She is -“
“- her own woman. She can do what she likes. but I'm her mother and a mother’s instinct is never wrong.”
“I don’t know how to tell her.” You said, voice breaking. “I’m afraid that if I do, she’d run away and never look back.”
“You’ll never know if you don’t ask.” Amanda said, squeezing your hand gently. “I better get back inside, who knows what my son is doing.”
“Okay.” You chuckled, watching as she walked back inside.
You stayed outside for a little while longer, your chest feeling heavy after the conversation with Leah’s mum. Your mind kept going back to what she said, was it true?
If so, you didn’t know how you’d even begin the conversation. This wasn't a football match where you could go into it, head first and confident. This was Leah.
Due to the fact that it was Leah it made your heart beat ten times faster, your breathing increased tenfold and your hands shook like they had never before.
The effect Leah had on you was something out of this world. It was like a superpower she had no idea about. Yet, you’d let her consume you, all of you, if it gave you one chance to be with her.
But with all the things you’d do for Leah, you weren’t sure she’d do the same for you. Maybe she would, but that’s what friends are for, it wouldn't be because she was in love with you.
Even with Amanda’s comforting words, how could you be so sure that she loved you back?
With all these thoughts running around your head, you went unaware of Leah looking all over for you inside. The defender scoured high and low until her mum told her you were outside.
Rushing to the coat rack, she pulled a random coat over her shoulders before making her way outside, searching for you.
“Y/n?” Leah questioned from behind you, unsure if it was you.
“Sorry, I needed some fresh air.” You said, still staring ahead.
“That’s okay, I just wondered where you were.” Leah said, looking around.
“You can go back in, it won't be too long.” You said, finishing off your drink.
“I want that dance.” Leah said, ready to go back inside until she stopped and said, “Thank you, y’know, for today.”
"Of course, what are friends for?" You said, finally turning around.
“Friends.” Leah murmured, looking down to the floor then back up at you. “That’s the thing I -”
“You what, Leah? Tell me, please.” You muttered, looking deep into her eyes.
“I -” she stepped forward, your bodies closer than necessary. "Fuck it," she mumbled before her hands reached for your face, pulling you in for a bruising kiss.
Unable to control yourself, you pin her against the wall, trapping her between your body as you press into her. Her hands travelled across your back, clutching desperately at your jacket as your mouth moved against hers.
Pulling away reluctantly, her breath gently fans across your face as you both pant a little. Your eyes get lost in hers as she smiles up at you, your gaze eventually drifting across her features, still stunned by her beauty.
Your gaze settles on her lips, watching how she subtly wets her lower lip before her teeth gently bite down on it.
“You don’t know how long I've wanted to kiss you.” You mumbled quietly, the sound of your heart pounding filled your ears.
“We’ve kissed before, you know that, right?” Leah murmured playfully, her fingers fisting the fabric of your jacket.
“Yeah, but not like that.” You said, your voice barely audible.
“Well why don’t we do it again?” Leah said, pulling you down into her body, claiming your lips in the way you both longed for.
You kissed her with a new sense of urgency, your lips moving together in a way like never before. The thought of her body pressed against yours, her mouth pressed against yours, and arms pulling you impossibly closer, it was all too much. You were utterly mesmerised by her.
Everything just felt right, like something meant to be, so much so that it made you sigh gently into her mouth, pulling back with nothing but love evident in your eyes as she matched your tender gaze, just as obsessed with you as you were her.
“Correct me if I'm wrong.” You whispered against Leah’s lips. “But are we no longer fuck buddies?”
“We are no longer fuck buddies.” Leah chuckled softly.
“And that makes us..?”
“Together.” Leah said, taking your lip between her teeth before releasing it
“Yeah?” You said quietly, a smile threatening to appear.
“It’s you. It's always been you.” Leah said, her fingers threading themselves in your hair.
“Maybe being your plus one wasn’t such a bad thing.” You teased, brushing your nose against hers.
“It definitely wasn’t.”
“C’mon, I want to go fuck you on the dance floor.” You said, placing one last kiss to her lips before going back inside.

Long day (Leah Williamson x reader)
Tumblr media
It was getting darker earlier now, a sure sign that winter was nearing, that and the goosebumps littering over Leah’s tanned skin as it whipped through her hair, making the blood rush through her ears in the best way possible.
Winter trainings were always tough, the bitter cold stinging the defenders bright eyes making it nearly impossible to see the ball. It was all worth it though as she was enveloped by the warmth of her car and the thoughts of what was waiting for her at home.
Leah didn’t waste any time getting home, her playlist blaring as she hums gently to the lyrics that always reminded her of you. Leah loved football, it was a huge part of her life and she cherished every second of it, but, it didn’t come close to how much she loved you.
In fact Leah loved you so much that as long as she had you in her life, she would be content with never playing another match again. She didn’t fail to remind you of that every day, from waking you up with soft, loving kisses and breathless confessions of love that was so sacred to the both of you, all the way to the lazy evenings full of cuddles on the couch and whispered affections.
Leah craved those dark mornings tangled in linen sheets and soft limbs, so connected that you couldn’t tell where one started and the other finished. This morning for example, a rare day, where Leah didn’t have to get up at an ungodly hour, now that it was winter her trainings had been pushed further up in the evening, leaving the still mornings at her beck and call.
Strong biceps curled around your midsection, holding on as if you were some divine being that would disappear at the slightest loosen of her grip. The gentle breathing, that the defender claims eagerly is not snoring, though you would beg to differ, fans the back of your neck as the serene surrounding of pure adoration consumes the room fully.
That exact same fondness that paints the walls of your house welcomes the tired blonde back into its familiar structure. Leah’s home however isn’t slabs of concrete or treasured pictures littering every inch of the building, but it’s the comforting figure that she just knows is standing in kitchen, waiting for food to magically appear out of thin air.
Leah drops her kit bag next to the homemade shoe shelf Steph had made the both of you after Leah missed a match due to a single shoe and a rolled ankle. The blonde chuckled at the memory as she threw the keys into the designated bowel while heeling the front door shut.
“Babe?” Although knowing exactly where you were, she couldn’t help but be impatient as she hears the soft pattering of your fluffy socked feet. You smoothly slid into the corridor with the most prized worthy grin lighting up every inch of your perfect face.
Just like her previous actions, you did not waste a second, cupping her defined jaw and pulling her into a kiss that could mistaken the fact that Leah had only been gone for a few hours. The gentle tug of her hair pulled her back into the blissful reality that was you, her hands had found the place on your hips that they had been familiarised with for so long, pulling you in until the space between the both of you was nonexistent.
“Hi.” One simple word mumbled against her lips in a humour full manor, a breathless chuckle following from her own mouth as she peppers kisses against your flushed cheeks.
“God, people would think you’ve been gone for months with this greeting.” You chuckled as lips worshipped your neck, “We won’t tell people that it’s only been a few hours then.”
Her deep London accent was muffled as she placed one final kiss against the volume of your throat.
Foreheads met and eyes locked as you found comfort in each others space, “For what it’s worth, I missed you.” You couldn’t help but melt into her, nuzzling your cheek against hers while breathing her in, “I missed you too.” You pulled back slightly before continuing, “You know what else I missed? When you didn’t smell, go take a shower, Lee.”
A laugh bubbled up as you watched the defender scoff in offence, “Rude!” You nodded while wiping her sweaty strand of hair out of her face with a playful grimace. Leah swatted your hands away as she grumbled childishly, “Okay! okay, I get it.” The blonde started towards the stairs before turning backs around with an eyebrow raised, “Wanna join me?”
“As much as I would love to, I have some baking to do, so I will regretfully leave you to it,” Leah chuckled while solemnly nodding, you watched her slightly disappointed expression and decided to meet her halfway, “…but, I can offer you a kiss?”
Her blue eyes lit up again like they always seem to do when she’s near around you, leaning up on your tiptoes you pressed a timid kiss to her eager lips before quickly stepping back much to the tall blondes dismay. Her lips followed yours and you gave into her meeting her in the middle in a melting kiss.
Her sweaty stature was the last thing on your mind as you wrapped your arms around her neck, she slightly lifted you off the ground pressing you against her fully.
After what felt like a too small eternity, you gently stepped back, “That’ll give you something to think about.” She lightly groaned before quickly stealing one more kiss, “Don’t be a tease.” You giggled before pushing at her chest gently, “Go, get cleaned up and then get down here to help me with these stupid cookies.”
Leah smiled before putting her hands up innocently, she made her way upstairs with a satisfied sigh and you watched her go before heading back to the kitchen.

Cowboy - Leah Williamson/Reader
part one | part two | part three | part four
prompt: Leah and Reader get into a bit of a spat.
warnings: none
words: 2163
Tumblr media
(Y/N) POV
“Hey, Cowboy!”
I continued to explain to Lotte how she could have stopped me so that I wouldn’t have gotten the shot on goal and taken that pressure off Manu to stop my shot.
“Cowboy!”
I looked over my shoulder to try and figure out who Alessia was trying to talk to. I was a bit surprised to find her running toward me and Lotte. I furrowed my brow because I wasn’t sure who she was calling Cowboy considering no one on the team had any nickname like it.
“I’m sorry,” I said as Alessia slowed down to a stop in front of Lotte and I. “Did you just call me Cowboy?”
“Well, yeah,” Alessia nodded, “Leah calls you Cowboy all the time.”
I blinked in surprise. I really shouldn’t have been that surprised to find out that Leah called me Cowboy considering she still made fun of my accent all the time. I turned to look at Lotte who swatted at Alessia.
“You weren’t supposed to tell her.”
“Hey, back get away from her, Lotte,” I scolded as I got in between the two. “What else does Leah say about me?”
Alessia froze at that. I raised an eyebrow because now I was curious what else Leah told her national teammates about me.
“Alessia, what else does Leah say about me?”
“Nothing. She tells me nothing,” Alessia tried to assure me. I reached out and pushed Lotte backward before I took a step toward Alessia as I stared down at her. “Okay, okay. Just stop with the look and I’ll tell you everything.”
“No! Less, we aren’t ‒‒
I grabbed ahold of Lotte in a headlock when she went to move around me before I started to give her a noogie.
“Do you want one too or are you going to tell me?” I asked Alessia once I let go of Lotte who was quick to try and fix her hair.
“I’ll tell you, just don’t mess up the hair,” Alessia conceded.
“Now, spill.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You promised you wouldn’t tell anyone about what I said when I got my wisdom teeth out.”
Leah froze as she came out of the bathroom. We had been taking separate cars since Leah didn’t have to go in as early as I did since she was still in rehab, and she usually got done before me as well.
“(Y/N) ‒‒”
“No,” I cut her off, “You promised.”
I had been so out of it after I got my wisdom teeth out that when Leah showed me the videos she had, I had been absolutely mortified. I had made Leah promise me that she wouldn’t tell anyone about it.
“Besides, Lessi already ratted you out for calling me Cowboy as well.”
“It’s a cute nickname.”
“We obviously have different definitions of cute.”
Leah sighed as she moved closer to the bed. I huffed as I moved to the other side though so that I was farther away from her.
“No, I’m mad at you.”
“I didn’t mean to tell them about your wisdom teeth,” Leah said, but it didn’t stop me from glaring at her. “We were out drinking, and Keira asked me how it went. I wasn’t thinking and I made them swear not to tell anyone else the story.”
“You still told them,” I pouted as Leah sat down on the bed. “I haven’t even told anyone about how you were after you ACL surgery. Not even Alex.”
Leah’s best friend had been asking me what Leah had done after her surgery while she was still coming off the pain killers, they had her on, but I had refused to tell Alex after Leah asked me not to.
“Baby, come on.”
“No, you can sit with Lia and Beth at the concert.”
Leah went silent at that. I knew that the concert was supposed to be a surprise, but Alessia had also told me about it.
“And Alessia is the one who gets to wear my extra cowboy hat.”
“That’s not fair!”
“It’s totally fair!”
“But ‒‒”
“No way! You still make fun of my accent!”
“But it’s in a good way.”
“You make fun of it. Maybe I should just go back to the States and make fun of yours with my national teammates.”
“(Y/N),” Leah whined as I got up from the bed and shook my head. I refused to give in on this. “Come on. That’s not fair.”
“No. Lessi is wearing my hat tonight and you can wear the one that she got for the concert,” I repeated. Leah huffed as I started to move out of the room. “And keep fighting me on it and I’ll stay at Lessi’s tonight as well.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You and Leah okay?” Steph asked as she nudged my shoulder with her own.
“We’re fine, Steph,” I assured her as I looked where Leah was talking with Beth and Lia. “We just had a disagreement.”
Steph slowly nodded as Alessia headed over to join us. Alessia glanced over her shoulder where Leah was before looking back at us.
“Is she upset with me?”
I sighed because I knew that it wasn’t fair for Alessia to be in the middle of this spat with Leah, but I had involuntarily put her there.
“No, she’s upset with me,” I assured the blonde striker. My eyes met Leah’s who had apparently turned to look at me. “I told her if she kept arguing with me earlier that I’d stay at your place tonight. If she’s being mean to you just let me know and I’ll take care of her.”
“But it’s all because of what I said earlier.”
“Alessia, it isn’t your fault. Just because you told me doesn’t make it your fault,” I assured her. I didn’t want her to feel like either of us were upset because of her. “I’m not mad at you and if Leah is then it’s her own doing. She knew that I didn’t want her to tell anyone about what happened after my surgery, and she told you guys while y’all were at camp anyways. Plus, she knows that I’m self-conscious about my accent because people have always made fun of it.”
“Yeah, but I told you.”
“Alessia, you aren’t responsible for Leah’s actions. I’m frustrated with Leah, but I’m happy that you told me because she was breaking my trust behind my back and that isn’t okay. So, if Leah is upset with you, it’s just because she got caught, okay?” I explained, causing Alessia to nod. “I’ll talk to her tonight after the concert. Don’t worry about it. Why don’t you go join the others? Steph and I will catch up in just a moment.”
Alessia glanced over at Steph before running off to join the others again. Steph and I stood in silence as I looked back over where Leah was. I did hate that we were fighting, but Leah had broken my trust.
“I didn’t realize you hated your accent.”
I sighed as I looked at Steph. I had been happy when I realized that my accent was starting to change after having been in England for so long even if it did mean that I was getting teased for how it was changing.
“I don’t hate my accent,” I said as I rubbed the back of my neck, “But it does get pretty frustrating when everyone makes fun of the way you say certain words for your whole life.”
“Have you told Leah?”
“Yeah, we’ve talked about it. Especially when she first started staying with me after her breakup with Jordan. I asked her to stop bringing it up all the time especially since I didn’t make fun of the way she said certain things.”
We fell back into silence as my gaze turned back to where Leah was again. I hated that no matter how much I wanted to be angry with her I just couldn’t be.
“I could talk to her for you,” Steph offered.
“As much as I would love that, Steph, this is something that Leah and I have to figure out for ourselves.”
Steph nodded as I caught Leah’s eye again. I nodded my head for her to join me.
“I’ll give you two space,” Steph said once she realized that Leah was headed over to us.
I leaned against the wall as Leah got closer to me. I stared at her as she fidgeted once she stood in front of me. I waited until she looked up at me.
“You get why I’m upset?”
Leah nodded her head.
“So then why are you being mean to Alessia?” I asked. Leah stayed silent as she looked away from me. “Leah, Alessia didn’t do anything wrong. I’m actually really disappointed in you.”
“You aren’t mad?”
“Leah, I’m frustrated that you broke my trust by telling people about the one thing I asked you not to and you weren’t the one to tell me,” I pointed out. I shook my head as Leah looked back at me. “Not only that but you’re still making fun of my accent. You know that I asked you not to.”
“I call you Cowboy around them because you love country music. And you never turn off the good manners. And you always have sweet tea made,” Leah said. I huffed because it still didn’t help that she had never told me. “And because of your accent. Because I honestly love it. And, yeah, I did make fun of it all the time when we first met, but I would absolutely hate it if you lost it.”
“You didn’t tell me these things, Leah. I am your partner, and don’t even think about joking about how I just said that, okay? You’re supposed to communicate these things with me,” I seethed. When was she going to get it? “How the hell am I supposed to be okay with these things happening and you never telling me? I’m having to find them out from everyone else because you keep them secret from me instead of talking to me about it. I’m feeling less like your partner and just someone you fuck.”
Leah stayed silent for a moment.
“You know, your accent gets thicker when you’re mad,” Leah said. I grinded my teeth as I tried to keep my calm. “I’m sorry, but it makes you sound super hot.”
I froze at that. I searched her eyes to see if she was telling me the truth. All I could think about was how she used to only make fun of my accent. She wasn’t lying.
After a moment of us both holding our breath to see what the other would do, I grabbed ahold of the sides of her jacket before pulling her closer. Leah’s hat had fallen off her head as soon as I pulled her against me. But Leah didn’t stop me as I crashed my lips against hers. Leah immediately brought her right hand to rest against my hip and her left against the back of my neck as she deepened the kiss.
“Okay, lovebirds, stop with the PDA before you guys get us kicked out before the concert even starts,” Kim interrupted us.
I pulled back from Leah as I tried to catch my breath while Leah kept her forehead pressed against mine. I waited another moment before I pulled my head back from hers but brought my hands up to cup her face.
“No more secrets, yeah?” I asked. Leah bit her lip before she nodded her head in agreement. “If you break a promise to me, just tell me and we can talk about it like adults when it happens. I’m your Cowboy, okay? I don’t just let anyone call me that.”
“I can sit with you?”
“Oh, I’m still sitting with Alessia,” I said. Leah whined as her shoulders slumped forward. “But you can sit with us if you apologize to Alessia.”
Leah grinned at that as she nodded in agreement. She tried to move away from me, but I grabbed ahold of her jacket again to pull her closer to me.
“I’m still upset that you broke the promise, and we’ll talk more about it at home or tomorrow, okay?” I asked. I waited for Leah to nod in agreement before I pressed a kiss against her cheek. “You should have worn one of my flannels considering we’re at a Luke Combs concert.”
“I have one in the car. I wasn’t sure if you’d appreciate me taking your clothes since you were mad at me,” Leah admitted.
We hadn’t scanned our tickets yet and we did get to park close to the arena.
“Go apologize to Alessia and then I’ll get the girls to give me two of the tickets so we can go get it.”
“And I can still call you Cowboy?”
“You promise it isn’t just to make fun of my accent?”
“I promise.”
“Then yeah, you can call me Cowboy.”

blind date/leah williamson
*leah williamson x fem!reader *what happens if you are on a blind date and stood up by the person you were supposed to meet but a beautiful blonde comes to you rescue? *fluff ig? *1.3k words (1.7k with the bonus) .................................
My first blind date. I don't think I've ever been this nervous. Why did Beth even set me up? I didn't need it. I mean, yeah, I'm not dating anyone at the moment and I'm not good at flirting but did she have to make it that obvious and set me up with someone? I never met that girl and Beth didn't even want to tell me her name. How was I supposed to know who she was?
I sighed before I turned around on my bed, almost falling out of it. My hand reached for my phone, which was laying on the nightstand. In my stress, I dialed the first number that came to my mind. "Hello?" I almost threw my phone across the room. That was not my best friend. "Hello? Is someone there?" I had to answer now, right? "Hi. Eh it's y/n. We met like 2 weeks ago, on that event. I was there with Beth and Viv." I mentally facepalmed myself for calling HER out of all people. The women I've had a crush on for a year now, captain of the Lionesses, Leah Williamson. "Oh yeah y/n, I remember. What's up?" Was that my mind making things up or did her tone change when I said my name? It was probably nothing. "Actually I wanted to Beth. I must've dialed the wrong number sorry for disturbing you." I was about to hang up when I heard her say something. "No no, don't worry you didn't disturb me at all. I was pretty bored actually."
"Oh, okay." My response was followed by an awkward silence. "So what are you up to this evening?" Should I tell her about the blind date? Would she even be bothered to know about it? "I'm actually going on a date."
"Oh you're dating someone? I didn't know that."
"Surprised? Don't you think that people ask me out?" I chuckled as Leah searched for a plausible answer.
"Eh- I- No, I do. It's just-"
"Don't worry, it's just a stupid blind date Beth set me up for. Apparently I'm not capable of finding the 'true love' myself." That made Leah laugh and I couldn't help but join in. Her laugh was really infectious, I had to admit that. "Where does your mysterious date take you, if I'm allowed to know?"
"We're going to the new restaurant in town."
"Oh the Italian one? I only heard good things about it but you'll have to tell me if they're true once you come back."
"I will do that. Alright, I'm gonna have to hang up now. I have to get ready if I wanna be there at 9."
"Well have fun then. It was nice talking to you, maybe we could meet up in the near future?"
"Yeah I would love that. I'll let you know when I'm free. Bye Leah."
"Bye y/n."
That definitely went better than expected but now I really had to get going. I stood up and walked over to my closet. I picked a nice navy blue dress that I hadn't worn in a while and matching high heels. my makeup was done 20 minutes later and my hair only took 15. With enough time to spare, I decided to drive to the restaurant and wait for her there.
.................................
"Hi, I have a reservation at 9 under the name y/l/n."
"Ah yes. Please follow me."
I followed the nice women to our table and sat down. "Would you like to order something to drink while you wait?"
"Yes, just a water please."
And with that she left. I looked around the restaurant and tried to calm my nerves by concentrating on the decoration, the color of the walls, literally anything. I fidgeted with the rings on my fingers while I watched the door carefully as if I could miss her walking in. The waitress came back with my water but I just took one sip before placing it in front of me. The minutes passing felt like hours and I got more and more nervous. Multiple people walked in but they all sat at different tables. Every time I heard the door open, I looked up and hoped that it would be her but it never was. After a while, I looked on my phone and saw that it was already 9:45 pm. She wasn't coming. I felt the entire hope just disappearing with that realization. I got ditched by a person I didn't even know. I did my hair and makeup for nothing. I was excited and stressed for absolutely no reason. Disappointed by how the evening turned out, I leaned down to pick up my purse. That was when I heard a voice. "Sorry that I'm so late. The traffic was awful." I looked up to see the bluest eyes I had ever seen. Wait, I knew those eyes. And that blonde hair. And that voice. "Leah? What the hell are you doing here?" For a second I completely forgot my crush on her and stared at her like she was some alien from outer space. "I'm here to save your night."
"Elaborate please." I leaned back in my chair while she sat down on the one in front of me. "Well your date didn't come, did she?" I shook my head and another wave of disappointment hit me. "Definitely her loss. But anyway, I'm here now. I can't just let you sit at this table, all alone, that would be mean."
"You know when you said 'near future', I thought you meant next week or something but not tonight." She chuckled and I couldn't help but smile. "Yeah, I wasn't planning this either trust me. But let's see where the night brings us, shall we?"
"Alright, fine with me."
.................................
The evening was simply amazing. Leah and I talked about everything and I felt like I was on cloud nine. The food was delicious and the three hours we spent together felt like 10 minutes. She offered to pay but I didn't accept. Instead I paid for both of our meals. As we made our way out of the restaurant, our hands brushed against each other and little fireworks erupted in my whole body. We walked side by side in a comfortable silence until we reached my car. "So this is it, right?" I turned around and looked straight in Leah's eyes. Big mistake. I could feel my cheeks turning crimson red and Leah trying to hide her cheeky smile was just a confirmation that I was blushing. "I guess so." She took a deep breath. "y/n, I really really liked talking to you and all of this felt so, so-" She searched for the perfect word but I already knew it. "Natural?"
"Exactly. That's why I would love to take you out sometime in the near future. And this time I mean next week and not tomorrow night." A big smile made its way onto my face. "I would love that."
"But how about I make it up to you."
"Make what up to me?"
"You paid, so obviously I'm going to give you something back."
"Leah I really don't want your money, I-"
"Oh don't worry, I wasn't talking about money."
Before I could say something, she leaned towards me and my brain just turned off. I felt her soft lips on mine and I instantly knew that it was going to be favorite feeling of all time. I kissed her back and arms made their way around her neck. We only parted when air became a problem but my arms stayed exactly where they were. As soon as we locked eyes and I couldn't help but notice the sparkle in hers. "That was way better than any amount of money."
"I hope so cause I was planning on doing it again." We both smiled at each other and I was sure that this evening couldn't have been any better.
.................................
Bonus:
"Leah are you sure that they're gonna like me?" I anxiously looked at her and she took my hands in hers. "Princess, they're going to like you just as much as I do. I have no idea how they couldn't." She squeezed my hands reassuringly and I felt a part of the nervousness leaving my body. "Alright if you say so. Then let's go." I put a smile on my face and followed Leah into the locker room. She knocked and several women answered. "Come in!" She turned to me one last time and I just nodded, not sure if I could form actual words right now. She opened the door and we stepped inside. "Hi girls, I already told you that I wanted you to meet someone very special to me. This is y/n. My girlfriend." As soon as those words left her mouth I could feel every pair of eyes on me. "Hi, it's so nice to finally meet you." Beth walked to me and engulfed me into a big hug. "Finally! I thought you'd never show yourself here, god." I laughed and hugged her back. After that, I answered a lot of questions from everyone in the room. I also got into a nice conversation with Jen and Katie. We even agreed to meet each other for lunch the next week. All of the stress that I felt before this meeting was totally unnecessary. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and they were all so nice to talk to!
After an hour or so, Leah and I left. We still had to drive home, make dinner and watch the movie she promised me earlier that day. I intertwined our fingers as we walked to the car and started talking about her teammates nonstop until we got to her car. "You were so right, I shouldn't have worried about this. Your teammates are way nicer than you're always saying."
"Oh just wait until you get to know them a bit better. You're gonna be pranked by Katie, Lia is going to spam you with messages and-"
"I absolutely don't care. I love them."
"Well I only hope that you don't love them more than me." She grinned and I couldn't help but tease her a little bit. "Ah I don't know about that. Let's see, shall we?" I got a playful slap on my shoulder in response. "I'm joking babe. I'll always love you more, more than anyone actually."
"I love you too darling."

Nightmare (Leah Williamson x Reader)
Tumblr media
Part 4 (and last part) of Sweet Dreams (2,3) - 1.5k words
So far the relationship between Leah and you is almost absolutely amazing. You two spent almost all your time together, going on cute little coffee dates, having movie marathons and much more, as your teammates put it, ‘disgustingly cute’ relationship stuff.
Spending this much time together means that your apartment is pretty much abandoned, you would go over there every now and then to get some stuff you need, but otherwise you were at Leah’s apartment day and night. And this is also part of the reason why your relationship is only almost amazing. Because instead of being able to sleep at night, you spend most of the time staring at the ceiling or at the woman next to you, who sounds like a cold engine trying to start in the winter, while she is sleeping.
You don’t know how she manages to look like an absolut angel while snoring like some scary creature once her eyes close, and she starts to doze off, but what you do know is, that today's training session will be everything but fun for you. For some reason last night's sleep was way more cruel than all the others in the past where you were able to get at least a few hours in but this time you aren’t even sure if you slept at all.
So here you are, dragging yourself almost zombie-like to the locker room, while your girlfriend walks a few steps ahead of you, chattering happily away. At some point you stopped listening to her, not on purpose of course, but your mind decided to put the image of a comfortable bed and sleep in your head. Completely lost in your little daydream and lack of sleep, you don’t even notice the Irish woman in front of you, causing you to directly walk into her.
“Wow, wow, calm down, this ain’t no rugby field.”, Katie says with a chuckle, while trying to stabilize you two.
“Sorry.”, you mumble half-hearted while rubbing your eyes in hopes to wake up a little more.
Katie chuckles fade out at the sight of you, she did notice you looking tired and appearing sloppy during training every now and then, but today the exhaustion seems to be written all across you. Your face looking a bit pale, slight eye bags visible and your eyes themselves only open hooded, “Are you okay?”.
“Yep, just a bit tired.”, you reply, brushing past her into the locker room before she has the chance to question you any further.
The repeated tiredness of you concerned the Irish woman, causing her to keep a close eye on you during training. Although it doesn’t take her long to notice how sloppy your movements were once again.
“Hey, hey now, checking out Y/N? What would Ruesha say?”, a British voice, speaks up next to Katie, who takes her eyes off of you to look at Beth next to her.
“Funny.”, she says, following up before Beth has the chance to reply, “Doesn’t Y/N look a bit sloppy during training lately?”.
The forward takes a moment to think about what her teammate just pointed out to her, “A little yea.”, she starts off before a slight smirk forms on her face, “but who knows what they are up to the nights before hm?”, glancing teasingly towards where your girlfriend is talking to Jen.
“You are so annoying.”, Katie replies, pushing Beth slightly.
“Hey, who knows?”, the British woman laughs loudly.
“Who knows what?”, Leah’s voice suddenly speaks up.
“What you and your girlfriend are up to the nights before training.”, Beth says, wiggling her eyebrows before starting to laugh once again.
Leah, completely confused by what’s happening, mumbles a small, “What?”, turning her attention to Katie, in hope to receive any further information on what these two must have been talking about prior to her arriving.
“Your girlfriend.”, the Irish woman starts off, pointing in your direction, “Has been sloppy in the past few training sessions and always looks as if she hasn’t had any type of sleep for a while”.
“She struggles with some nightmares lately.”, the defender explains.
She, of course, also noticed your tiredness, how can she not when you two spend almost every waking moment attached to one another? What was a bit weird to her was, though, that you at first didn’t seem wanting to admit what the issue was, before finally admitting that the reason for your restlessness seems to be nightmares. From that moment on Leah tried to stay up with you until you would fall sound asleep, unknown of the fact that your sleep would be cut short anytime she, herself, fell asleep too.
“Nightmares? For that long? She should get it checked then.”, Katie says, crossing her arms over her chest, not fully believing that this could be the reason.
“I tried, but she always declines, claiming it will get better eventually”.
Before her teammate could speak up again, loud laughs catch their attention. Looking to where they come from, they can see you sitting on the floor with a bright blush covering your face. Apparently you have tripped over the ball during the drill, amusing the youngsters to no end.
“I will bring it up again later.”, Leah mumbles to her two teammates, before making her way over to you to make sure you are okay.
“My theory was more fun.”, Beth says before making her way over to the rest of the team too, cueing an eye roll from Katie.
___
Arriving home later that day, you immediately face plant on your girlfriend's couch with a groan, “That was exhausting.”.
Your girlfriend hums in affirmation, making her way over to sit on the armchair, “I was thinking…”.
“Yeah?”, you ask, opening your eyes slightly to look at her, indicating that she has your attention.
“Maybe we should get the whole thing with your nightmares checked out? The girls started to notice how sloppy and tired you always are, and it hasn’t gotten better in weeks.”, Leah trails off, knowing how much you dislike talking about it.
“I don’t know Leah. I don’t think anyone can help.”.
“How are you so sure? We haven’t even tried it out yet?”, your girlfriend asks, getting slightly upset. She doesn’t understand why you are so against it, it would only be a matter of time before your lack of sleep would lead to worse things than just you being sloppy in training.
“Because…”.
“Because what?”, Leah pushes.
You push your face into the pillow on the couch, mumbling something into it.
“What?”.
“Because you are my nightmare!”, you say, sitting up with a sigh.
“I- Uh- Me? What?”, your girlfriend sputters out, confused by what you just told her.
Sighing once more, you take her hands into yours, “I love you, but you snore like some monster which makes it almost impossible for me to sleep. So yes, you are the nightmare that keeps me up at night.”.
A deep blush takes over Leah’s face, “My snoring isn’t that bad.”.
Leaning back into the back of the couch, you give her a ‘are you serious?’ look, “Should I remind you of the video the girls took during the movie night a few months ago?”.
Her already dark blush seems to get a bit darker from being reminded of the video of her snoring loudly with everyone around, “It can’t be that bad.”, she keeps on claiming.
“Leah.”.
The defender hides her face in her hands, “I’m sorry.”.
You slowly pull her hands from her face, taking them once again in your hands, “It’s okay, it’s not your fault that a demon takes over you once your eyes fall shut.”, you sort of joke, forcing your girlfriend to roll her eyes at your words.
“A demon really?”.
“Yes!”, you exclaim, nodding your head almost violently, “A really bad demon!”, you add, trying to imitate her snoring sounds before breaking into laughter when Leah pulls her hands out of yours and pushes you back into the back of the couch.
“You are so annoying.”.
This only makes you laugh even harder, so your girlfriend grabs the pillow next to you and starts hitting you with it, “Stop. Laughing. At. Me.”.
“Alright, alright.”, you chuckle out, grabbing the pillow from her hands to pull her into a hug, “I’m sorry.”.
“Of course you are.”, your girlfriend says, rolling her eyes again, but the slight smile on her face lets you know that she isn’t really upset.
After just holding each other close for a moment, Leah breaks away from the hug with a sigh, “Guess I’m the one who has to get it checked out then?”.
“Would be quite helpful.”, you agree, pressing a kiss on her cheek in encouragement.
“Alright, I try to get an appointment in for tomorrow.”, she says, pressing a short kiss to your lips before making her way over to her phone, trying to schedule an appointment.  “Thank you, my little nightmare!” you call out after her, to which she simply flips you the bird, sending you into laughter once more.

Drunk Stranger (Leah Williamson x Reader)
Tumblr media

Leah Williamson x Reader
Summary: What do you do when a drunk stranger calls you in the middle of the night?
Warnings: Please don't interact if your under 18, alcohol, swear words, throw up, drunk Leah, if any of this triggers you please don't interact.
Words: 3.6k
Authors note at the bottom. Also sorry for mistakes english is not my first language.
--------------
You honestly weren't expecting your phone to ring at 3 am on a Saturday morning. You had been peacefully sleeping since 10 pm, after a long day at work it was honestly the only thing that had been on your mind when you got home, after nicely declining your friends to go out with them you quickly made some pasta and headed to bed for a long night's sleep. Instead you were woken up at an ungodly hour of the morning because of your ringtone.
You groaned lowly and rolled over to check who was calling you at this time, rubbing your eyes to see a bit clearer you realized that it was just a random number, groaning again at the fact that this had just woken you up, you also thought about who was calling you, clearly it was an english number so the time is the same for them as it was for you. Maybe it was something important? Why else would they call? Deciding to choose the safe option over the unsafe you pick up the phone.
“Hello? Who is this?” You asked groggily, trying to clear your throat a bit after.
“Hi” A small hiccup was heard before seemingly the women on the other end continued to speak. “It’s- I’m Leah, uh, who are you?”
A bit confused, you continued to speak. “Sorry, but why are you calling me, it’s 3 am. Do I know you Leah?”
You could hear faint music in the background from her end, also the clear heavy breathing coming from her.
“I don’t know, do you know me? I don’t think so, I’m- my phone has a low battery.” There was a small giggle from Leah’s end before she hiccuped again, the slurring in her voice should have given it away immediately, but you were honestly also running on low battery, so being fast to think wasn't what you were gonna do now.
“Are you drunk?” You asked bluntly, almost immediately regretting yourself for asking such a question to a person you don’t know. Slapping yourself mentally you try to backtrack but before you can start to speak again the woman answers you.
“Me? I’m not drunk, I just had likeee two drinks maybe, I don’t know. But I feel great.” Leah said, you could hear her moving around a bit, maybe she was in a bathroom?
Deciding to ignore the fact that this woman was most likely wasted, you respond again. “Okay, well Leah, your name is right, go get one of your friends and get a taxi home or something, don’t call strangers in the middle of the night.”
“I don’t have any friends here.” You crinkled your eyebrows a bit in confusion, who would go out completely alone?
“Well, call one of your friends to come get you from wherever you are, sounds like a pub.” You said, wanting her to hurry up a bit, knowing she has a low battery. You probably should have hung up, but the fact this woman was alone with a low battery out in a pub was worrying you a bit, even though you don’t know her.
“I don- wanna, they are sleeping, and I don’t wanna wake them.” Leah said, slurring over the line. You could hear her hiccup again, which is starting to become a more regular thing for her now. You chew a bit on your lower lip, starting to become a bit more worried for Leah, even though you don’t know her it was clear that something was going on in her head, and not just alcohol.
“So who’s coming to pick you up then, Leah?” You asked. You wanted to know if she actually had a ride home, because everyone knows that a girl walking home alone at night is never something that’s been ideal, especially if she’s drunk. It’s a sad world but it’s also reality, and you knew that.
“Umm, I dunno, maybe I'll just sleep on the street, I'm gonna go get another drink.” Leah said happily. You wondered if she was actually serious.
“Wait, what bar or place are you at?” You knew the chances were slim of you even being close to her, but it was worth a shot.
“Uh, Orleans, you know the one above Emirates Stadium the uh football Arena, I play football actually for Ars- Arsenal, I have played there…..” Leah’s rant fell deaf on your ears almost immediately after she mentioned the bar she was at. You knew that bar, you lived like 10 minutes from it.
“How do you look like Leah?” You cut her rant off, you wanted to get at least a small picture of how she might look.
“What, um I’m blonde and I have brown pants, but I spilled some vodka on them before so maybe there's a stain on them.” At this point you had already decided that you were gonna drive there, she was alone, and by the sound of it not in the right state of mind at all.
“Are you not wearing a shirt?” You asked, wanting to know as much as possible.
“Yes”
“Well what’s the color of it then.”
“It’s white, with some cool black patterns on it. Jordan got it for me.” Leah’s voice got a little quiet at the end of her sentence, then another hiccup came through the line. Choosing to ignore that she mentioned someone named Jordan, you start to throw on some clothes.
“Stay there Leah, I’m coming down to the bar.” You say as you put the phone on speaker.
“Wait really, do you wanna drink with me? That’s so much fun we can pa-” That’s all you heard before the line went dead.
“Leah? Are you there?” You check your phone with confusion, then you realize her phone must've died.
“Fuck, okay.” You say to yourself before you grab your car keys and rush out the door to get to your car.
As you start the engine to your car, you realize how stupid of a idea this really is. A random woman called you in the middle of the night, drunk, and now you are coming to the bar she’s at, to do what really, give her a ride home? But when you think of the situation she’s in, you give no second thought and start the drive towards the bar.
Arriving at a bar in sweatpants and a sweatshirt was something you've never done before, you could feel a couple of eyes at you as you walked in, but honestly you couldn't care less right now. You were only there to find Leah.
The bar is where you first notice her, or so you think. Blonde hair, brown pants and a white shirt with some cool plack patterns on it, that had to be her.
Walking up to the woman in crime, you slowly tap her shoulder so you could see more of her face. “Leah?”
The woman at the bar turns her head towards you, and god save you that had to be one of the most beautiful women you had ever seen in your life. Piercing green eyes, small small freckles over her pale cheeks, nose sculptured like a-
“Yes? Who are you, mate?” Her voice broke you out of your daydream, and the strong smell of alcohol that came with her breath, which set off the alarm clocks in your head again.
“You called me before, remember, we just talked on the phone before yours died.” You said, taking a small step back because of the strong smell of alcohol reeking off of her. Looking down towards her hand you notice the half drunk beer she’s holding.
“Oh, yes the nice lady, my phone died, sorry uh, what was your name again, I can’t remember. I can get you a drink first wai-”
“No, Leah I don’t want a drink, and I think that should be the last one for you too.” You told her, you weren’t sure how this was gonna go but hopefully you could get her out of the bar, before she manages to get alcohol poisoning.
“Nooo, don’t be a party pooper.” She whined, she swayed a bit at the stool she was sitting at, losing her balance, you took a hold of her shoulders as she fell into your chest. “Okayy, Leah, give me your address so I can get you home.”
“No, I don’t know you.” Leah said into your chest, you tried to push her away slightly but she had lingered her arms around you to keep you where you were standing, she was hugging you.
Before you could speak again you felt her slightly shake, her breathing coming a little bit more ragged. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion, that is before you felt a little wetness damp your shirt, from where her face is.
“Are you crying, Leah?” You asked, as you naturally started to rub her back slowly.
“No.” Her response muffled by your chest. She was obviously lying but you didn’t wanna make her feel uncomfortable so you decided not to call her out on it again.
“Okay, how about we go outside.” You suggested, hoping that you could maybe convince her to get out of this bar, away from all the alcohol.
“No.” Her response came once again, the wet spot on your shirt becoming more damp, you decided to try a different tactic.
“Well Leah, I’m gonna go outside so either you stay her or you-”
“No, don’t go please, I don’t wanna be alone.” Leah whined into your shirt, her breathing becoming more erratic.
“It’s okay, just come with me and get some air, alright?” This time Leah nodded and you smiled to yourself in victory. As you started to move you realized Leah wasn’t moving with you, so you put your hands in her armpits to help her up to her feet.
As you started to walk out Leah was leaning into you, as she was having trouble walking on her own feet. You held her around her waist to help her a bit to keep balance.
“If we can’t go to your place, how about you crash at mine.” Honestly, you weren’t thinking before suggesting that, but what were you gonna do, really.
“Really, are you-” A burp made it out of her mouth mid sentence, right into your face, you scrunched your nose up in disgust. But when you looked at Leah again you noticed she had started to laugh instead of crying now. Now you were just glad she was laughing instead of crying.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that, I promise. Sometimes I burp a lot when I drink, it’s hones-”
“Leah it’s okay, my place?” Leah nodded at you, toppling over her own feet as you started to walk towards your car. The fact that she was slurring pretty heavily didn’t sit right with you. You had no idea how much she’s had to drink tonight, but definitely more than average.
When you got to the car you helped Leah into the passenger seat, and fastened her seatbelt. Her head lulled a bit to the side as you closed the door. You thought that maybe she was gonna fall asleep, but when you sat down in the driver's seat she seemed to be wake as a day.
Starting your car you notice Leah’s sharp intake of breath. “Tell me if you have to be sick, I really don’t want you to puke in my car.”
“I’m not gonna be sick, I just feel a little dizzy.” Leah said, as you started the drive toward your home. You weren’t sure if you actually believed her on that, so you pressed down a little harder on the pedal.
“So football, you mentioned earlier on the phone?” You thought that maybe talking to her would distract from whatever was going on in her head, so she doesnt start crying again.
“Yes, actually um I play football, in Arsenal and for England. I am captain for England, that’s cool right, we wo- won the Euros this summer. Did you see when we won the Euros?.” Leah was stumbling over her words, but a small smile was evident on her face now.
You had heard about the England ladies bringing it home this summer, football was honestly not something you took a lot of interest in, but it was still a pretty cool thing. You still had zero knowledge of the players though. “Yeah I heard, that’s pretty cool. So your job is playing football then?”
“Yep, I work as a footballer. That was always my dream as a child, so many people know me now after the Euros. I almost have like 700 thousand followers on Instagram, I don’t know what to do.”
“That sounds crazy, you must live a good life then.”
“Everybody says that, but I’m always so sad.” Leah said, tears forming in her eyes again, her breathing picking up. You didn’t know what to say, everything just seemed to come back to whatever was making her sad. So you just placed your hand on her knee hoping that physical contact might calm her a bit.
Nothing more was said on the ride back to your home. Leah’s breathing had slowed down after a while, so maybe your touch was helping a bit. When you arrived at your apartment, you stepped out of your car to help Leah out of the passenger seat. Somehow she was still awake, you’d thought she would fall asleep with how much alcohol she’s consumed.
Getting Leah to her feet wasn’t that hard, she only stumbled a little bit. Noticing her starting to fidget on her feet and her face going a little red you worried that something was wrong again.
“Are you okay?” You questioned.
“I really have to pee, like really really bad.” Leah stammered, grimacing a little as she presses her hand over her crotch.
“Okay, come on then lean on me like you did before so you don’t fall over, hurry up.” Grabbing her around the waist again you start to walk towards the apartment, Leah putting almost all of her weight on you.
As you got into the elevator Leah let go of you to grab a hold of the railing, groaning when the elevator started to move. “You good?”
“I- I think I’m gonna pee myself.” Leah spoke with a desperate look on her face, starting to cross her legs over each other.
“No you're fine, look now we're almost there now.” You pushed her out of the elevator, and towards your apartment door. You weren’t really sure if you were tryna convince Leah or yourself.
Fiddling with the key a bit, you finally got the door open. Pushing Leah inside she stumbled on the vase next to the door, making it fall to the floor and break, Leah gave you a half sheepish look.
“Sorry, I didn-”
“It’s okay, to the bathroom we go. Come on.”
Reaching the bathroom, you opened the door for Leah who half ran, half stumbled inside. You closed the door behind her and slid down the wall next to it with a sigh. This wasn’t how you expected your night to go.
“Tell me if you need anything Leah.”
Getting up on your feet again with a groan, you walk back halfway to sweep all the pieces of the vase that was now spread out all over the floor.
Rubbing at your forehead before you start to sweep, you get lost in your thoughts. What were you doing? A random woman who randomly drunk called you in the middle of the night is now at your apartment. What were you even gonna say in the morning? There was not a big chance she was gonna remember any of this in the morning, she might panic. And apparently she is a famous footballer too.
Before you can go any deeper into thought a shriek from the bathroom breaks you out of your daze. Dropping everything you're doing, you run towards the bathroom and swing the door open, to find Leah holding her shirt with clenched fists. “What’s going on, are you okay?”
“My shirt, my shirt, my- my shirt. It’s broken I-” Leah breaks out in a sob before she even can finish her sentence, the grip on her shirt tightening so much her knuckles are turning white. You notice the rip on the bottom of her shirt, it wasn’t particularly big but it was there.
You stand there a little dumbfounded not really knowing what to do, that is until you see Leah starts to sway on her feet. That’s when you walk up to her and grab her waist to steady her, so she doesn't fall over.
“Just breathe Leah, let’s sit down so you don’t fall over okay.” You speak as you take Leah down to the bathroom floor with you. Naturally Leah leaned into your shoulder and put her arms around you, hugging you as you leant back on the wall for some support. “Leah it’s just a little rip it’s fixable, you need to breathe”
Leah sobbed even harder into your shoulder, you were sure your shirt was gonna be ruined by how much tears and snot you could feel on you. You tried to rub your hand on her back again like you had done before in the bar, but Leah sat up abruptly, her hands starting to claw and pulling at her shirt, trying to get it off. You looked at her with a confused face, not understanding what was going on.
“Get it off, please I- I help me get it off, please.” Leah sobbed out in a pleading tone, still trying to get her shirt off with clumsy hands. Not wanting to make anything worse you quickly helped her out of the shirt so she was now bare with only a bra on, you threw the shirt on the floor next to you.
Leah threw herself into you after her shirt was off, hugging you so tight you almost couldn’t breathe. You had no idea what was going on but asking questions right now would be stupid so you decided to just hug her back, to try and give her some comfort.
A long time passed before Leah’s sobs finally started to subside, your back was starting to ache and your whole body felt stiff, your shoulder was sticky from Leah’s tears and snot, but there was no way you were gonna move. You heard Leah hiccup, then burp straight afterwards. Worried now she actually might throw up you push her away from you as Leah groans at the sudden movement.
Leah’s face and eyes were red with dried tears on her cheeks and hairs sticking to her sweaty forehead. Wiping at her runny nose she burps again, but this time she covers her mouth with her hand straight afterwards. That gives it away.
“Okay, I don’t want you to puke on me so come on to the toilet.” You quickly get out before you help her to the toilet, thankful for already being in the bathroom.
As soon as you opened the toilet lid Leah was emptying her stomach, the strong smell of puke was overtaking your senses as you started to hold her hair up. When Leah was finally done she laid her head on the toilet ring, her eyes closing as saliva was dropping from her mouth. Falling asleep on the toilet wasn’t ideal so you quickly took ahold of her to get her up on her feet
“Leah, you can’t fall asleep here, come on.” You said trying to wake her up a bit more.
“ ‘M cold.” Was all you got in response as Leah shivered a little, goosebumps covering her upper body. “Because you're not wearing a shirt, I’ll help you sit down on the couch then I'll grab you a sweatshirt, okay?”
“M’kay.” Leah tiredly said, wiping at her mouth as you helped her to the living room, to the couch.
“Don’t fall asleep until I get back, I’ll be fast I promise.” you said to her. You ran to your room as fast as you could then grabbed a hoodie for her, running back to give her as little time as possible to fall asleep.
When you got back to the living room Leah’s head was hanging forward on her chest, you went up to her and pushed her head back, her eyes were half closed and there was a little bit of drool coming from her mouth, you shook her little as she whined a bit at the uncomfortable movement.
“Put your arms up so I can put the hoodie on you.” You said, as Leah did as she was told. You pulled the hoodie over head and onto her upper body. Seeing no point in taking her to a bed you just helped her lay down on the couch, getting her into a comfortable enough position to sleep in.
After Leah finally was laying down, no more crying or puking, you sat down on the couch next to her with a sigh. Starting to think about your weird night, now weird morning you groaned a bit feeling a headache starting to make its way known. Before you could move off the couch to grab a glass of water Leah’s voice interrupted you.
“What was your name again?” She mumbled out, realizing you never told her your name. You quickly respond. “It’s Y/N.”
“Thank you, Y/N.” After that, small snores were the only thing that could be heard from the woman on the couch. You looked at her with sympathy, then you groaned once again as the question hit you.
God, how was this gonna end up?

EIGHT. Paris.
It took about 45 mins for Leah to decide that she longer wanted to be in this damned opera house.
The red carpet was exhausting enough, but she powered through it, familiar faces like Amelia DiMoldenberg’s making it barely enough to get through.
The dinner had gone into an intermission, and she had a moment to relax from the cameras, being sat at a table not far from the stage. Ever since she first attended the GQ Men of the Year Dinner a few years ago, it had created a lot of buzz around her every year, fans speculating whether she would come again, donning outfits so foreign on her body. Back then, she still had a support system that she looked forward to coming home to. Now, maybe the only positive to this night was that, whatever happened, she would eventually get to go home and sleep by the end of it.
She had to tilt her head all the way up to get a full glimpse of the ceiling. The Royal Opera House wasn’t the oldest building erected in London by far, but it was one of most interesting to look at, if she wasn’t so in love with her club and the look of the Emirates that was. It was grandiose, regal and typical of Baroque architecture, the concave ceiling arching over her, stretching all the way back to the five balconies—generously lit and horse-shoe-shaped seating areas—stacked on top of each other. It looked a little bit like the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris that she got to see when she attended the Ballon d’Or for the first time a couple of years ago. A lot of things can change in two years, and Leah wasn’t sure whether it was for the better or not.
Her agent caught her in the middle of her admiring when he gave her shoulder a light tap, telling her that she was expected at the after-party too. Great, another two hours she’d have to endure as people praise her name for achievements unworthy of praise, just because she was Leah Williamson, captain of the Lionesses. But whatever else he said after that, Leah didn’t register, because her eyes had found a familiar frame standing a few tables away.
You looked dashing in your black nighttime attire, which sparkled every time the limelight happened to sweep past you. A gentle smile adorned your face as you conversed your heart away with a couple of actors whose names were lost on her. When you put your hand on one of them and laughed, your eyed darted over to her for a split second.
Only when those actors had left, did she even think of approaching you, but her feet were planted on the ground.
One, two, three, she counted in her head. One, two, three; come on, Leah . . .
“Hi, you!” There was a residual cheerfulness from your previous conversation in your voice. “It’s been a while.”
“Yeah,” she tried to chuckle away her nerves, wiping the sweat in her hands on her pant legs. “You been okay?”
“Yeah,” you said it so softly that she almost missed it, if she wasn’t watching your lips. “Are you? Beth says you don’t come around her place anymore.”
“You still talk to Beth?”
“Yeah, she’s my friend, Lee. I . . . hope you don’t mind.”
“No! No, that’s . . . it’s great.” Leah said quickly.
You had smiled at her gratefully, and grasped her hand. “It’s good seeing you again.”
“You too.” She had said, robotically, before deciding against it. “Hey, don’t be a stranger, alright?”
You smiled again. This time, you brought her into your chest and wrapped your arms around her neck. “You first,” you said with a glint in your eyes, then you disappeared into the crowd.
And for a few brief moments, Leah Williamson didn’t think about how exhausted she was, only about how much she has missed being held by you. After all, it had been almost two years since she and you broke up, and maybe Leah was never able to move on like she had promised you.
How could she?
Tumblr media
NINE. Be My Mistake.
She hated the feeling afterwards. She hated herself for having initiated it, for chasing after the girl like a hungry wolf in that nightclub. Now, Leah couldn’t bear the feeling of her lanky arms and sweaty skin touching her, like the intimacy was warranted, like she had somehow earned it.
Leah knew it was begrudging of her to shove the girl’s arm away so heartlessly and move upright to the edge of the bed, but she didn’t care. She couldn’t bring herself to be intimate with someone else, not yet. Not when every time she felt her skin she imagined yours, soft and scented with your familiar smell; every time she closed her eyes she saw your face like a ghost, refusing to leave her psyche; every time she opened her mouth to let out a noise of pleasure, it took everything in her to hold herself back from uttering Y/N, Y/N, Y/N.
The girl was confused but she was still, no doubt trying to decipher the sudden shift in Leah’s demeanor. She hated her stillness, the way her eyes watched her frame like she was a wounded animal in its enclosure.
“Please leave,” Leah said quietly, begging.
Silence.
“I don’t know what you’re going through, but if . . . you need someone—”
“Thank you, Delaney.” She gritted her teeth. “Please get out.”
Tonight, it was Delaney with the fiery red hair and dimples peppered over her cheekbones. A few nights ago, it was Lisa-Mae with the sultry brown eyes and unforgettable plump lips. Then there might have been an Erin and Hailey and Polly and maybe even a Daniela from when she visited Keira in Barcelona. She hated that she somehow remembered all of their names and kept count. Body upon body, yet she could not forget the one body she was using them all to forget about.
She couldn’t turn to alcohol, couldn’t smoke or do hard drugs because they would affect her performance on the pitch, but God knows she was thinking about it constantly. Anything to take this pain away for a moment, lest she turns into the starving wolf and goes out to hunt at night again. If only the press caught on to what she was doing.
Righteous Lioness turned starving wolf the moment the loneliness becomes a little too much to bare.
But she knew you wouldn’t have judged her. No, you would wrap her in your arms and let her scream, cry, do whatever she wanted to rid herself of the torment. She remembered all the nights you spent on the bathroom floor with her as she battled through her endometriosis, and how you would hold her like the world was about to collapse outside the window.
Leah was on the bathroom floor again, but she was alone this time, and the floor tiles felt colder and harsher than she had remembered.

TEN. Tonight (I Wish I Was Your Boy).
The feeling she got when the three whistles finally blew came to Leah quite rarely. It was one of elation and immense joy that the result of the game was finalized, because she had known half an hour ago that Arsenal would bring home the crucial three points from the match.
She brought her fists in the air as she made her rounds, patting her teammates on the back and shaking hands with opponents. She found Kyra and hoisted her in the air with a tight hug, as her younger teammate managed to score and assist today.
“Thank you, Leah.” Kyra giggled, as she was put down. “Is Y/N here?”
Leah’s smile remained, but she scrunched her eyebrows. “How did you hear about that?”
“How could I not? Y/N Y/L/N, coming to watch us play. I won’t be surprised if social media was buzzing about that rather than the actual match.”
If Kyra knew, that meant the entire team knew. She would endure the endless teasing if it meant getting to see you again, though.
Leah had found where you were sitting right from the start, in the VIP box where her friends and family sat, the usual spot you occupied when you were still together. Back then, she would watch you jog down the stairs with a blinding grin on your face, hop over the barricade and pull her into a bone-crushing hug. It could be a sold-out Emirates Stadium, but the only thing she wanted to watch was you. She still wanted to.
“Hi! Great game today.” You didn’t hug her, but did something far worse. You swung your arm and gave her bicep a quick pat, like a friend would.
“Thanks,” she said. “Should have scored that header though.”
“Hey, don’t put yourself down like that. You were great.” Somehow, your words made her feel worse about herself, and she just wanted to crawl into a hole and never come out again. They felt patronizing.
Not far away, Beth’s joyful laughter cut through her sulking. Turning to look at the woman, she saw Beth wrapping her arms tightly around Viv’s neck and the Dutch spinning her around gleefully. Viv had managed to score a hat-trick today—her first since returning from her ACL injury—and even if she didn’t celebrate such an important feat, she would be dragged into one because her girlfriend definitely wouldn’t leave it alone.
It reminded her of when she would come home and celebrate her wins with you. She didn’t need any fancy parties or lavish gifts, just being in your company was more than enough. You would always end up buying her gifts though. “Just because”, you would say, the I love you going unspoken, but she knew it was there. She could always feel it hanging in the silence, in the spaces in your home, even when you were half a world away filming. She could always feel it, like a hearth, a palpable warmth flickering in her chest.
It made her envious watching Beth and Viv that they had what she once did.
“Y/N! You made it!” Beth’s voice tore Leah from her thoughts.
Despite her sentimental predicament, a chuckle made its way onto her lips as she watched you embrace Beth like two schoolgirls finally united again after the summer holidays.
“How long are you staying in London?” Beth asked.
“I don’t know, really,” you replied. “I’m doing a thing with Stella McCartney, so it might take a while.”
Leah couldn’t help but perk up at that. She could feel Viv glancing at her from the corner of her eyes.
“No way! Look at ya. Moving on to the fashion world already!” Beth exclaimed and gave your shoulder a light shove.
Only when you and Beth had walked away happily chatting did Vivianne elbow her gently.
“They seem happy,” the Dutch said.
“Yeah,” Leah pursed her lips. “That’s good.”
“And you? Are you happy?”
Leah knew that the both of them knew she wasn’t, but that wasn’t the right answer. She would not admit to something that she has been working for two years to get over, because it would mean that her woes were all for nothing.
“I am,” she nodded. “I’m glad they’re happy.”
If anything, Leah still loved you enough to admit that.
Tumblr media
ELEVEN. Me.
Leah didn’t sleep much these days. She never really did—adrenaline being her biggest enemy—but she would find herself crying in frustration at four in the morning, unable to fall asleep.
It would be during those torturous hours that she would reminisce on the conversation in which she pulled the plug on your relationship.
It was a slippery slope of miscommunication, both of you were to blame, but she was the one who decided to run away instead of trying to work it out. She still kept the ring in a drawer somewhere, but the memory of your rejection made it to painful to look at.
In hindsight, she could have said it a bit differently, but she was close to exploding the previous days that all of it came flooding out of her.
She replayed the conversation often, like a broken record in her head, swapping out things that she could have said or you could have said that would have lead to a different outcome, maybe one in which she wasn’t so miserable two years on.
It was 1:43am, and she was wide awake yet again. You’d always had an irregular sleep pattern, and she wondered whether you were awake too.
She knew it was a mistake, and that she would regret it in the morning, but she texted you anyway.
hey are u awake?
Slamming her phone on the other side of the bed, Leah curled in on herself, burying her face in the pillows trying not to cry. If she hadn’t looked up in time, she would almost miss the incoming call on her screen. It was you.
“Hey,” she picked up after sniffling her tears away.
“Hey, you,” your voice was soft and lulling. “What an odd time for a footballer to be awake. Shouldn’t you be getting your beauty sleep?”
This made her chuckle. “If I did get all of my beauty sleep, you lot would have no chance.”
“Watch out, everyone. Leah Williamson’s ego is inflating, try not get crushed by it.”
As Leah’s laughter died down, she felt an awkwardness settled over the line. A silence once so comfortable now felt forced, straining under the pull between what once was and the ruins of it. The heavy weight of unspoken words curled on the tip of her tongue, the broken record of her mistake playing ever louder in her head.
“I didn’t expect to hear from you,” you finally broke the silence, your voice teetering between caution and curiosity.
“Yeah, well, insomnia makes one do questionable things.”
Leah wondered if she had accidentally revealed too much, and whether it was appropriate to do so. You two weren’t intimate anymore, you were barely friends nowadays, the finest thread of your acquaintance lied solely on your hangouts with Beth. How strange it was, you were half of her soul. Now you were almost like passersby on the street.
“Is everything okay?” You asked, a sense of concern in your tone.
“Um,” she hummed, trying to pull herself together. “Not really. I-I haven’t been doing too well.”
“Leah,” you said. “I-I know we’re not as close as we were before, but I wasn’t lying when I said I still want us to be friendly at least. I’m here for you. You know that, right?”
“I know.” She said, her voice wavering. She wouldn’t be able to hide her feelings from you, never you. “I know. I’m sorry I didn’t reach out sooner.”
“It’s okay, Lee. It hurt me a lot, not gonna lie, but I understand where you were coming from.”
Leah couldn’t hold it in anymore, and squeezed her eyes shut, her tears wetting the pillow she lay on. “I can’t be your friend, Y/N. I can’t just pretend like the last five years didn’t happen.”
There was a brief silence once more before you spoke. “I know. Might be selfish of me to wish things were different.”
“Then I’m selfish too,” she said, almost a whisper.
There was a pause, in which Leah bit the inside of her cheeks so hard they might start bleeding.
“Are you coming to Beth’s thing on Friday?” You asked.
“I think I’m expected to be there. Why?”
“Good, I’ll be there too. We’ll talk then.”
“Okay,” Leah said dumbly.
“Now, go to sleep.”
She giggled. “You first.”
Tumblr media
TWELVE. Sincerity Is Scary.
Leah’s teammates have teased her many times throughout the evening, stating her unnecessary brooding was actually unnecessary this time and that she should liven up. She really couldn’t. Just thinking about seeing you again tonight made her want to have a heart attack and end her misery right there.
But the moment she heard your voice as you stepped into Beth and Viv’s house, a bottle of wine in hand and a bright smile on your lips, Leah felt her anxiety dissipate into oblivion, scolding herself for ever feeling nervous.
After all, it was you.
She waited patiently with a soft smile, her arms folded behind her back as she waited for all the girls to swoon over you. She had all night to keep you company, she was in no rush.
“Hey,” you found her after all the canoodling. Extending an arm, you awaited a hug which she gladly accepted.
“Hi,” she offered to take your jacket and hung it on the rack by the door. “You got here alright?”
“Man, the traffic at rush hour,” you sighed exasperatedly. “That’s the one thing I’ll never get used to. Almost makes me miss you being my personal chauffeur.”
She laughed. “That’s the only thing I was good for, was it?”
You narrowed your eyes at her teasingly. “Not just that.”
Leah wasn’t sure what you meant entirely with We’ll talk then, but seeing as she was the one who stupidly broke up with you, the balls were entirely in your court. She was just happy you were still willing to talk to her after she called you at 2am to blabber her insomniac nonsense.
She wasn’t courageous enough to sit directly next to you at the dinner table, but rather took the seat next to Katie who sat in front of you. Courage wasn’t something Leah felt much lately, and it took seeing you again for her to admit that. Perhaps she was never brave, but you always made her feel like it anyway.
Everyone loved you, the movie star that graced her team’s humble dinner. She couldn’t help but watch in awe as you managed to charm the pants off of everyone at the table with your witty remarks and crazy anecdotes. You had a presence that made everyone want to be your friend; it made her uncharacteristically shy at trying to get you to notice her, that she resorted to watching you from afar. And the few times you would make eye-contact with her, she could only look away, bashful that she had been caught staring, as her courage dwindling with each gaze.
Later in the night, when everyone was scattered around the house chatting, she found you sitting alone on the patio. Upon closer look, she could make out a smaller, fluffy unit in the form of Myle, Beth and Viv’s little pup, prancing around in front of you, waiting for you to throw the tennis ball in your hand.
The constant sound of the girls’ conversations died down the moment she stepped out in the backyard, now lit with rows of incandescent lights overhead. Myle barked once with excitement as she spotted Leah approaching.
“I think she wants you to throw it,” you handed her the ball.
She grinned and took it. “No one beats Auntie Leah.”
Little Myle was quick to launch herself across the yard on a mission to retrieve her precious artifact.
“I wanted a dog really bad, the first year we started dating.” You said, pulling your knees to your chest as a gust of wind pulled at your hair. “I wanted a little corgi or an Italian greyhound. I spent hours looking for one to adopt and researched food, bills, insurance and stuff.”
“Why didn’t you get one?” Leah asked.
“We haven’t even moved in together at that point. Plus, I was still bouncing around, you knew that.”
She did. You were shooting a movie in Canada the few first months you and her started talking. Then, you were hopping around Spain, Portugal and various parts of the UK for another project. It wasn’t ideal, but still much closer than Canada. You would fly out every other weekend to watch her play, and she would do the same and visit you on-set, moving most things aside for a couple days with you.
“I would have loved a dog, I don’t know about you.”
“I’m sure you would have. You’d probably love it more than me,” you laughed.
“No,” Leah shook her head softly. “Never.”
Summer was approaching. She could feel it in the mildness despite the breeze. For a while, the soft murmur of the wind caressing the trees was all she could hear, and Myle’s occasional huff as she impatiently waited for the ball to be tossed again.
You both sat there watching her, fantasizing of a different life, a dream that never materialized, another fragment of memories again tainted by what-ifs. Leah bit her lip, trying to calm her spiraling thoughts. She felt her courage slipping away again.
“I’m sorry I called you the other day,” she pursed her lips. “That wasn’t very appropriate. I should have asked to talk to you properly.”
“Don’t worry. Wasn’t the worst thing you could’ve done.” She heard you chuckle next to her. “I’ve had some time to think about us. Admittedly, I didn’t want to think about it at all the first few months, but my therapist told me I had to face it one way or another.”
Leah held her breath. This was the part where you tell her that you’d moved on and that she should stop pestering you. One of her knees started bouncing up and down as she waited for you to talk.
“I had to face the fact that you’re the love of my life, and that night I met you and we danced to Hozier together—on the first night we met no less—was the second best night of my life. The best was when you told me you loved me. And the worst night of my life was when you broke up with me.”
“I’m sorry,” Leah whispered, feeling her throat tighten at your confession.
“No,” you said, moving closer. “I don’t regret it. I wasn’t ready when you proposed, and that was my truth. But Leah, I’d be lying if I said that I’d be okay with letting you go again.”
“I should’ve talked to you about marriage before I asked you to marry me. It wasn’t fair on you.” Leah offered you a tearful smile.
“I want to try again. I would do it again for you.” You reached out and wiped away the tears that had silently rolled down her cheeks as she listened to you.
“I thought I’d lost my chance,” she said. “I thought you’d moved on.”
“Oh, baby,” your thumb brushed over her cheek softly. “How could you think I’d ever be able to forget about you?”
She let out a soft cry of relief. Her heart was pounding in her chest, and there was only one thing she thought of doing.
So she leaned in, never minding her wet cheeks. The last thing she saw was you closing your eyes too.
“Oh—sorry!”
The two of you jumped apart at the voice behind you. Leah turned around with a visible scowl on her face, seeing Beth grimace sheepishly as she called for Myle.
“It’s her dinner time. Come, little one, you hungry?” Beth attempted to explain herself, as Myle sprinted inside. “Alright then. As you were.”
The moment the door closed, you burst into laughter, making her break out of her frown and smile with you. “I can’t believe that just happened,” you said, laughing into her shoulder.
“I’m going to kill her,” she shook her head and placed a chaste kiss on your cheek.
She didn’t mind it too much, because she got to take you home later and make up for the last two years until the early hours of the morning. You and her would laugh about it years later.

THIRTEEN. About You.
Your lover never backed down from a challenge.
That was her way, and that was what made her one of the best in her sport, her unrelenting spirit.
Yet, her legs felt like they would turn to jelly the moment she laid her eyes on you at the end of the aisle, umber dirt covered in white rose petals. She felt like drowning in her emotions which had all risen to the surface, and the waves would only plunge her further into itself until she was completely immobilized by it. But she knew once she was able to pull herself together and walk to you on the other end of that path, heaven would be waiting for her.
The officiate went on and on about love, life, and promises of forever, but she had made that promise to you long before this day. She kissed you fervently the moment she was able to.
It only seemed fitting that the first chapter of your story began with a dance, and the most important one to also end with a dance. She offered you a hand, and you gladly took it, a childish giggle bubbling in your throat. The song you danced to the first night you met rang out in the venue, a soft and folksy tune the backdrop of your falling in love.
“It’s not so bad, is it?” She said with a teasing grin.
You gazed into her eyes like they held the world. You had no idea that her heart beat for you, how her soul yearned for yours, how her life will not forever be intertwined with yours.
You closed your eyes and hummed, swaying with her slowly, just like you’d practiced at home a couple of weeks ago, only that instead of the four walls of your shared home baring witness to this dance, it was all your friends and families.
Memories of the first night you met, and the one in which she promised you her heart bubbled as she saw the serene look in your face. You both have come so far.
You placed your head on her chest for all to see, the way you do when you are tired after long hours of work in front of the camera, when all you wanted was the magic and warmth of her company.
Leah smiled; she couldn’t stop smiling. She smiled and smiled until her cheeks ached, even beyond then, until forever.
“No,” you mumbled. “Not bad at all.”

little something that i’ve had in my drafts for a while.
i also just hit 500 followers, so thank you all for that. i appreciate every single one of you and i’m happy that you’ve loved what i’ve written.
let me know what you think!

———
“I got one last song for tonight.” ‘Awe’s’ can be heard through the room.
“I know. I know. Now. This song. Its one of my favorites that I’ve written and I wrote it in like two hours, right after some alone time with the Mrs… if ya know what I mean.” Y/N said with an exaggerated wink, making the room laugh.
“She’s a very inspiring woman. Most of my songs are about her, so, without further ado, this is Daydreams.”
She's all I read She's all the literature that I'll ever need She's poetry
But she's like the good kind that doesn't make me sleep Her eyes are porn and she knows it Won't shut her eyelids 'til she gets invited We're not keeping score, but she's winnin' Likes it when I'm singin', as long as it's for her
You do tend to get lost in her eyes, especially when you see nothing but love and lust in them.
Daydreams, they feel like livin' when I'm dreamin' about her She's all I breathe when I should be breathin' air She knows I'm weak, yeah I Daydream every day about the things we do at night
———
In the crowd, three friends came to watch the show together.
She likes the word, "Please" But not the polite kind, the one in the sheets She knows she's a tease She's here for a good time then she's gonna leave
“Whoever her wife is must be real freaky in them sheets.” One friend states, unaware of how one of her friends’ cheeks were turning red.
She'll start a war and she knows it Won't stop her fighting 'til my flag is rising We're not keeping score, but she's winnin' Likes it when I'm singin', as long as it's for her
Daydreams, they feel like livin' when I'm dreamin' about her She's all I breathe when I should be breathin' air She knows I'm weak, yeah I Daydream every day about the things we do at night
Daydreams, they feel like livin' when I'm dreamin' about her She's all I breathe when I should be breathin' air She knows I'm weak, yeah I Daydream every day about the things we do at night
“That was Daydreams, It will be release soon. For now, thank you all for coming to hangout. Until next time. Bye everyone, get home safe.” Y/N closed her show off, waving to the crowd, walking offstage.
“She’s so dreamy.” Lia Wälti stated to her friends.
“So hot.” Both Lia and Beth looked at Leah with a teasing smile. “Did I say that out loud?”
“Yup. I would say to get with her, but apparently she’s married now.”
Leah’s cheeks burn red. “Shut up. Let’s just g—”
“Leah Williamson.” Leah was interrupted by a security guard.
“That’s me.”
“You’ve been requested backstage. If you and your guests would just follow me.”
“Leah?”
“Hmm?”
“Why are we following a random person? He could be kidnapping us.”
“Don’t be dramatic.”
Following the security guard into a room, they were told to wait there and left, closing the door.
“Is this is the part where we die?”
“Lia!”
“You’re basically manifesting it to happen.” Beth stated, with a roll of her eyes.
“I promise I won’t kill you guys.”
The three of them turn around, seeing the one and only Y/N Y/LN. Two out of the three appear in shock.
“You- you’re Y/N Y/LN.”
“I am.”
“OHMYGOD I LOVE YOU!” Lia yelled in excitement.
“Thank you!” You turn to Leah and give her your biggest smile. “Hi, Leah.”
Leah quickly goes to you and wraps her arms around your neck, yours going around her waist.
“Hi, darling.” Leah leans up to give you a quick kiss.
“YOU KISSED Y/N YL/N!”
“Okay, Lia. Let’s go outside to calm down for a bit, yeah.”
“I’ll meet you guys outside. Let me get showers and changed first.”
The two footballers walk out the room, Leah closing the door.
“Wait, if Y/n Yl/n is married and you just kissed her, does that mean you’re married to her and she wrote a song about your sex life?”
“LIA!”

You had been planning this holiday since Leah had torn her ACL. You thought that she could use a well earned break during this time in her career.
At first Leah was a little apprehensive but she soon turned around and couldn't wait for this time away with you. You and Leah couldn't think of anything better. A little get away, just the two of you.
Sitting in the window seat, you placed your hand on Leah’s thigh. The defender looked towards you, her hand resting on top of yours. Turning your hand around, you intertwined your fingers together.
Leah gave your hand a squeeze with a gentle smile, the blonde bringing your hand up to her lips and giving it a soft kiss.
You let a small chuckle escape your lips, shaking your head at her antics. The plane around you shook as it began to take off, your hand tightening its hold on Leah’s.
It wasn’t out of fear, more so out of excitement, not being able to keep it contained. You were practically beaming from ear to ear and so was Leah.
Once the plane was in the air, you pulled a book from your bag and began to read. The blonde next to you huffed as she watched your eyes scan the page.
“Really?” Leah asked, her voice a little louder than the appropriate tone for an aeroplane.
“What?” You wondered, looking up from your book and into her eyes.
“I thought we were going to talk the whole time or something.” Leah said, making hand gestures as she spoke.
“We get to spend the next week together talking or something.” You replied, a teasing tone underlying your voice.
“But what about now?” Leah complained, sounding like a toddler.
“Fine, let me read to the end of the chapter, then I'm all yours.” You said, shaking your head with a huff but Leah didn’t care, happy with the fact you would pay attention to her.
Unfortunately for Leah, she seemed to underestimate how long the chapter actually was. She tried to occupy herself for the time being but it was no use, not finding anything to keep her mind distracted.
She looked at you once more before an idea popped into her head. She moved the armrest, separating your seats and placed her hand on your thigh.
At first you thought nothing of it, until she started to move it higher and higher.
“Leah.” You said warningly, looking up from your book for a split second.
“What?” Leah questioned, feigning innocence before leaning closer to your ear. “Just read your book, darling.”
Her fingers danced against your inner thighs, Leah watching how your chest rose and fell at an increased rate with each movement she made.
With the hand that was on your thigh she pulled your legs apart, stopping once she noticed you weren’t interested in your book.
“Keep reading or I'll stop.” Leah whispered in your ear, pulling the book back up.
You keep one hand on the book whilst the other goes to the seat, gripping it with all your might. You gasp as she places heavy kisses on your neck and after a few seconds your gasps intensify turning into breathy moans.
Your eyes clench shut as she moves her hand into your pants. Too busy kissing your neck she doesn't notice you have long forgotten the book.
You move your neck to the side, allowing Leah more access and choke back a moan as she pressed her fingers against your clit.
As she slips her hand lower, you spread your legs a little wider. She continues her ministrations on your clit causing you to release a filthy groan, accompanied with a whisper of her name.
“Leah, someone could see us.” You moan out, biting your lip to keep yourself quiet.
“Only if you don’t stay quiet.” Leah husked, her teeth nipping below your ear.
Even though you were loving every second of what Leah was doing, you still needed more. Bucking your hips and placing your hand on her wrist, you try to get her to move where you need her the most.
Obeying your silent request, Leah slipped two fingers inside of you. A ripple of pleasure soared through your body, making you tilt your head back into the chair. A moan threatened to escape your lips but Leah quickly covered it up with a kiss.
She curled her fingers, hitting a certain spot causing you to moan against her lips. She repeated the action again and again, making it harder for you to stay quiet.
You pushed your head further back when you felt Leah’s fingers push harder into you, her palm pressed against your clit.
“God, Leah.” You groaned, pulling her in by the neck and into a deeper kiss.
With every curl of her fingers you thrust your hips forward to meet her, desperately wanting to cum. You could soon feel your muscles contract, breathing becoming more uneven and shaky with each passing second.
“Go on baby, cum for me.” Leah said against your lips, smirking as she watched your body convulse with pleasure.
After you came down from your high, you looked at Leah with utter disbelief. She slowly took her fingers out of your pants, not breaking eye contact, and licked her fingers clean.
“Stand up.” You said as you got up yourself.
“What?” Leah asked, looking up at you from her seat.
“Up.” You repeated and this time she did as she was told.
You slid past her and took a hold of her hand, pulling her into the bathroom. You moved Leah in front of you, the force you used made her fall onto the toilet seat. Closing the door behind you, you looked at the blonde with what only could be described as want.
You placed a hand around her neck, using your thumb to tilt her head up to look at you before you crashed your lips down onto hers.
She moaned into your mouth, her hands moving to your waist but you pulled away, stopping her actions.
“You don’t get to touch me,” you said sternly, holding her hands away from your body, “not after that stunt you just pulled.”
“But-” Leah protested.
“No chance. Now it’s your turn to be quiet.”
You pulled her up from the toilet and leant her against the sink, trapping her body between your arms.
Leah placed her hands on your shoulders, gripping the fabric that covered them but you removed them with your hands, placing them on the counter behind her.
You began to place kisses along her neck, occasionally leaving small marks on her skin. Whilst you continued to kiss and suck, you soon found her pulse point. A loud moan elicited from her lips, one that she was unable to contain.
Trying to keep Leah quiet, you pull her closer, her eager and hungry teeth clashing into yours as she kisses you. Your tongue pushes past her lips, holding all power over her in the bruising kiss.
Your roaming hands squeezed at her thighs, nails digging into them making her sigh into your mouth and without any warning, you pushed two fingers inside of her.
Pulling away breathlessly, your eyes are met by her swollen lips and darkened eyes. You nudged her legs apart with a kick of your foot, the blonde not even trying to fight the action as it allowed you more access.
“You look so pretty right now.” You breathed, watching as Leah became a moaning mess.
You curl your fingers, hitting the spot that you know makes her breath shudder whilst your other hand palmed over her shirt-covered breast, pinching and squeezing her nipple through the fabric.
“Fuck y/n.” Leah whispered through heavy breaths, moving her hips with the rhythm of your fingers in a chase for her climax, fucking herself onto your hand desperately.
Your hand made its way up to her face, holding her jaw between strong fingers, “You gotta be quiet, baby.”
Leah nodded, not trusting her voice enough to speak. Her legs began to shake from her soon approaching orgasm, her eyes squeezing closed and lips falling open.
“Eyes. Open.” You muttered, staring into them when she obeyed.
The look in your eyes was enough to pull Leah over the edge, cumming onto your fingers until it dripped down to your knuckles. Her hot forehead, slicked with sweat, pressed against your shoulder with her teeth biting into the nape of your neck to quell the grunt at the back of her throat.
You helped Leah ride through her orgasm, wrapping an arm around her waist to hold her steady as she calmed her breathing. But you didn’t stop there.
The defender was going to say something but was cut off by you kissing her. You started to move your fingers again and Leah nearly collapsed from the gesture.
Her skin still tingling and overly sensitive from the previous orgasm. Leah’s body stuttered as you dragged your fingers through her folds.
With a slight dip of your fingers, she let out a lewd moan. Her hand moving down to your forearm, nails digging into your skin as her hips instinctively bucked at your touch.
You pressed your thumb down onto her clit, relishing in the way her eyes almost rolled into the back of her head at the action before coming back to focus on you.
Leah bit down on her lip to suppress what she was sure would be another borderline embarrassing moan.
“You gonna cum again?” You whispered, dragging your teeth along the lobe of her ear.
With the way your hand was working over her sensitive clit, Leah struggled to think of anything to say.
“Come on, you were pretty vocal earlier, what happened?”
This time Leah couldn't contain a groan, her hips beginning to rock almost of their own accord along with the lazy circling of your thumb over her clit.
You could feel her beginning to clamp around your fingers, a noticeable tremble to her body and it was obvious she was close.
Leah’s legs tightened around your arm, making it hard for you to move. Her head was thrown back and her hair was stuck to her forehead. Sweat dripped down her neck as she tried to chase after her high.
With one final curl of your fingers and a firm press of your thumb against her clit, she arched her back off the sink. Her eyes screwed shut, body shuddering as her second orgasm washed over her.
You pulled your fingers out of her, Leah letting out a small whine at the loss. Kissing her softly, you began to trail down from her lips to her jaw, neck, collarbone and then to the valley of her breasts.
You lifted up the bottom of her top to place kisses to her stomach. Leah looked down at you, her hands tangled in your hair.
Kissing just above her waistline, you tugged the elastic of her joggers back slightly when she stopped you. She grabbed your wrist lightly, causing you to look up and into her eyes.
“I- I can’t.” Leah said breathlessly, shaking her head from side to side.
Leah pulled your wrist up and the rest of your body came with it, allowing you to be face to face with her.
“Turn around.” You muttered, placing your hands on her waist.
Confused, Leah did as she was told, her back now flushed with your front. Your lips ghosted her neck as you trailed a hand up to her jaw.
“Look at yourself.” You said, tilting Leah’s face upwards so she looked at herself in the tiny mirror.
Moving your hands back to her waist, you placed them on the elastic of her joggers. Pulling the fabric down, you revealed her soaked panties.
Pushing them aside, you teased your fingers through her folds. She flinched at the touch but a satisfied moan soon tumbled from her lips once you easily slid a finger into her.
Bringing one hand up to hold the back of your neck, Leah pulled you down to press your lips against the side of her jaw and along her throat.
Her eyes fluttered closed, pushing down against your hand. Leah found herself a moaning mess as your fingers worked over her.
Realising she had closed her eyes you pulled away, leaving Leah breathless and aching. She tried to protest, but you shushed her before she was able to get a word out.
“Uh-uh, what did I say?”
“To look at my-myself.” Leah moaned, her thighs shaking as you teasingly slapped her clit.
“Good girl.” You whispered hoarsely.
Slipping two fingers inside Leah, she couldn’t contain the whines falling from her lips.
With every move you made Leah’s body reacted to you; the loud moans and gasps accompanying her restless movement of her hips only made you want her more.
“D-don’t stop, please don’t stop. I’m so close, fuck, so close.” Leah moaned, watching as beads of sweat dripped down the side of her face.
“You gonna cum?” You asked, voice dripping with arousal.
Leah nodded her head frantically, her eyes never leaving her own.
“Words, baby. I need you to use your words.”
“Yes! Fuck, yes, I’m gonna cum.”
Leah’s breathing quickly picked up in pace as the stimulation became greater, her back arch, her bum pressing into your front.
You placed your thumb on her clit and the added sensation made Leah feel as if she was on cloud nine.
Leah’s toes curled, body pushing onto your hand, a loud moan erupted from the back of her throat as her climax finally came.
Once Leah finally recomposed herself she turned around to face you. Her lips were slightly parted, letting short breaths pass them.
“That was-”
“Oh, I'm not done yet, baby.” You smirked, dropping to your knees.
You pulled her panties down to her ankles, trailing kisses all the way down and paying attention to her exposed skin before moving down to place teasing pecks above her clit.
Your tongue flicked her clit and a sudden ripple of pleasure and pain soared through Leah’s body. She squeezed your head between her legs already feeling sensitive from her climax.
Although she was in some discomfort, pleasure soon took over and the moan she released was long and loud, she couldn't have stopped it even if she tried.
“Quiet, sweetheart. We don’t want anyone to hear us, do you?” You mumbled against her clit, locking your eyes as you looked up at her.
She shook her head, biting on her bottom lip. One of her hands tangled itself in your hair whilst the other slipped under her top to play with her breasts.
Leah’s eyes fluttered shut as she succumbed to the pleasure she was feeling. She moved one of her legs over your shoulder, allowing you to get a better angle.
Her skin was covered in goosebumps, hips moving in time with your tongue to chase her building orgasm.
Leah gave a particularly harsh tug on your hair causing you to let out a groan into her core.
The vibrations reverberated throughout Leah’s body and shockingly tipped her over the edge. Only when Leah whined at the overstimulation on her center, you detach yourself from her core and peppered small, loving kisses up her body.
“You okay?” You questioned, placing kisses along Leah’s jaw.
Leah was struggling to focus, panting for breath as her ears rang with the pulsing of blood and her hammering heart beat.
You gave a small chuckle, descending down the blonde's neck, kissing, biting and licking carefully on her pulse point and leaving a small hickey that would fade away in a few hours.
Kissing your way down to her thighs, you grab a hold of her panties and joggers, sliping them back up her legs.
“Perfect.” You mutter with a gentle kiss to her lips.
A knock on the door snapped the two of you out of your thoughts.
“Everything okay in there?”
“Yeah, yup. Everything’s good. J-just girl problems.” Leah rushed out, smacking you on the shoulder.
You hid your face in the crook of her neck, trying to contain your laughter. After hearing fleeting footsteps did you allow the chuckle to escape your lips.
“Just girl problems?” You teasingly questioned, raising an eyebrow at the girl in front of you.
“Oh I’m sorry, did you want me to tell them you were fucking my brains out?” Leah retorted, an unimpressed look on her face.
“Eh, I wouldn't have minded.” You replied with a shrug, a cocky grin forming on your lips.
“I can’t stand you.”
“More like you can’t stand without me. Have you noticed you’re leaning your entire body weight onto mine?”
“Oh shut up.”
“Uh huh. Let's get back to our seats.” You smiled, letting Leah go first.
Ignoring the questioning looks pointed at the two of you, you sat back in your seats just in time for the food to come round.
Leah took a water but you politely declined any food, saying you had just eaten.
“I hate you.” Leah mumbled, resting her head on your shoulder.
“Yeah, yeah. I love you too.” You smiled, resting your cheek on top of her head.
You could not wait for this holiday and neither could Leah. Especially if it started off like this.

Bus beginnings (Leah Williamson x Reader)
Tumblr media
It had been a gruelling match. It always was when you played Spain but thankfully you clenched the win with a late winner scored by none other than you.
It had just been a friendly but there was a protectiveness over the unbeaten streak and that wasn't fading anytime soon.
Ella was currently knocked out on your shoulder while Alessia and Ellie slept across from you. The four of you have grown up together but you new Ella the longest, she was your partner in crime and you loved each other more than words could ever say.
For once the whole bus was silent almost everyone a sleep apart from you. You looked around the bus to see if you could find anyone else awake and to your delight you spotted Leah listening to music.
Gently, you moved Ella's head off you shoulder before placing her down onto a pillow. You smiled softly then leaned down to leave a kiss against her cheek, you watched as a small smile appeared on her face.
You made your way down the aisles while also snapping pictures of your sleepy friends until you found yourself in front of the blonde. You gently kicked her leg, laughing as her head snapped up. That smile you adored lit up her face.
"Hi.”
"Hey.”
"Why aren't you a sleep?" Your eyebrows quirked are her question before you echoed it, "I could ask you the same thing."
"Fair enough." Georgia let out a soft mumble at the intruding noise before slapping Leah's shoulder pathetically. You took pity on the midfielder and nodded your head in the direction of the back.
Leah caught on before getting up as quietly as she could, you both made your way to the empty row at the back before throwing yourselves down on the seats.
You got comfortable quickly before engaging in conversation, you loved how easy it was to talk to the blonde defender.
"You played great today." You watched as she lightly scoffed at your comment-you hated the way she brushed off compliments like they weren't true.
"You always play great." She softly whispered as she tried to hide the blush slowly taking over her face. You nudged her foot teasingly as she tried to hide her face from you.
"Why do you always do this?" She groans out while you giggle, "I'm not doing anything!" Leah joins your giggling as you both try to cover each others mouths to keep quiet.
You lunge over to swat her face but trip over the seat landing directly on her, she lets out a loud groan that has you immediately covering her mouth.
You both freeze waiting for one of your team mates to rip into you but they didn't even stir. You let out a breath of relief before looking down at Leah to find her already staring up at you.
"Sorry about that." You go to move off her but she grabs your waist keeping you where you are. "Leah?” She cuts you off by leaning up to kiss you. Your eyes widened in surprise as she moved her lips gently against yours.
Finally coming to your sense you cup her jaw and kiss her back as hard as you possibly could. Leah smiled against your lips while pulling you closer.
"I've wanted to do this…since the day…..I met you..” Leah mumbles against your lips as she runs her cool hands up your jumper. You gasp at the feeling of her hands against your skin but Leah just takes this as an invitation to deepen the kiss.
Your teammates snoozed gently while you and Leah laid cuddled up down the back, you had about 2 hours left until you were back home.
Your teammates snoozed gently while you and Leah laid cuddled up down the back, you had about 2 hours left until you were back home.
Leah had her arms wrapped around your stomach while you laid between her legs, she was carding her hands through her hair while you both giggled at something you said.
"We should compare hands," Leah throws you a confused look, "You know. Science." The blonde defender snorted loudly before bursting into another fit of giggle, "What?!" You shot her an obvious look before continuing, "What?! It's not like we haven't done anything worse."
Leah has to muffle her laugh again as she thinks about the breathtaking kiss to the two of you shared not even hours ago.
Nevertheless she held her hand up next to yours waiting to see where you would go with this. You move your hand to hover over hers before gently placing it against hers, humming at the feeling of warm skin against yours.
"You have such big hands." Leah swatted your hand gently while scoffing, "You'll never find out." It was your turn to be baffled as a furious blush spread rapidly up your face.
You ignored her chuckling by focusing on your hands, you hooked your pinky with hers smiling victoriously when you what the older girls breath hitches.
Carefully you slowly connect your fingers while focusing on how normal and right this all feels. Leah let out the breath she was holding, "That was really intimate for hand holding, right?"
"Yeah."
"Are you okay with that?" Leah nervously asked holding her breath again awaiting your answer, "I'm very okay with that."
You moved your gaze from you joined hands to her face before leaning in to softly kiss her. A low whistle jostled the both of you as you snapped your head in the direction of the sound.
You spotted Ella's mischievous face poking out over the seats. Your heart calmed a little at the sight of your best friend before you placed a finger to your lips while gesturing to your sleeping teammates.
"I better go keep her entertained before she wakes the whole bus." You say turning back to Leah as you lean in to give her one last kiss. "Coffee and lunch tomorrow?”
Leah nods with that charming smile, "Wouldn't miss it for the world." You bite back a smile giving her a small wave before making you way back down to Ella.
"You two looked cozy." Ella teases as she pokes your sides, you swat her hands away before collapsing into her lap, "Tell me all about it?”
You kiss your best friend cheek before cuddling into her beginning the story. Leah leans back into the seat you had both been previously occupying as a giddy smile graced her face.

Surprises
part 1 of rivals
fifteen year old Jo Knox gets her first call up to the USWNT camp and she makes her first professional rival.

Tumblr media
I sighed as I pushed open the door to the hotel. I was vastly aware that it was highly unusual for someone to be in my position. Especially walking onto a team of such a high calibration.
After all, how many fifteen-year-olds could say that they got the chance to play with the United States Women’s National Team?
Mia Hamm. That’s it. The entire list.
Well.
Before today, at least.
Or, I guess I would actually have to take the field before I could actually be classified as playing with the national team. But just being at a camp with the national team was huge. And to be doing it toward the end of the year before the World Cup?
I wasn’t sure what it meant just yet. It could mean that the coaching staff really liked what they saw in me. Or this could be a test to see how I could handle the pressure.
And I wasn’t sure which one I would rather it be.
I would have to tackle this just like I did at home. Stay out of everyone else’s way and get my job done. That’s what mattered. If I could prove that I was good at what I could do, who knows? Maybe I would actually have a future with the national team one day.
“Jo! Over here!”
I lifted my head to find a woman smiling at me as she waved. I sent her a small smile of my own as I moved over closer to her.
“Hi,” I softly said once I got close enough.
“It’s nice to finally meet you, Jo,” the woman said as she held her hand out to me. I reached out to shake it. “I’m Dawn Scott. I’m the High Performance Coach for the team.”
“I’d introduce myself, but you already know who I am.”
Dawn let out a small laugh as her smile grew a bit wider.
“Come on, they haven’t really gotten far into the meeting yet,” Dawn said as she turned around. I dragged my bag behind me as I started to follow Dawn. “Jill’s excited to have you here. She wouldn’t stop boasting about you to Tom. Between us? Jill was very frustrated that Tom wouldn’t call you up.”
“And now she’s the coach?”
“Interim while the USSF tries to hire a new head coach. She was excited about getting the opportunity to add you to the roster though,” Dawn admitted. I was a bit surprised by that. I knew that I had been watched while I was with the youth teams, but I didn’t realize I had been watched specifically by the person they would trust to lead the team at this time. “It helps that Jill doesn’t mind risking chemistry to try out new and upcoming talent. Let’s face it, you’ve got a lot of talent already and you’re still nowhere near your full potential.”
“Yeah, well, outside of school, soccer is pretty much all I focus on. I mean, we all pretty much have our own thing in my family, mine just happens to be soccer,” I shrugged as we slowed down outside of one of the conference rooms. “With a family like mine? You have to do something to make sure that you stand out.”
“You can leave your bags just inside by the door if you’d like. I’ll have to go and sit on the side with the coaches, but you’ll have to sit with the players,” Dawn explained. That made sense. It would be even weirder if a teenager was sitting with the coaches rather than the other players. “There’s usually a seat in the back that’s open.”
“Thanks.”
Dawn nodded as she gave me one last smile as we both ducked into the room. I wasn’t too surprised when heads turned to stare at me as I left my bags by the door before I sat in the back left row. I tried not to let their stares bother me as I turned my attention to Jill. Jill wasn’t going through anything other than what I expected, just how we were going to have a tight schedule and what she was hoping to get out of this camp.
“One last thing before you can go! I have called up Jo Knox,” Jill announced as she peered over the others to look at me. I nodded as I avoided everyone else’s eyes. “I know some of you might not want to get along with a fifteen-year-old, but please make her feel welcomed. I’ve watched her on the field, and I think she’s got something special. You’re all free to leave. Jo, if you’ll stay behind.”
I waited in my seat as everyone else moved to leave. It wasn’t until most everyone else had left the room that I finally stood up. I moved to the front of the room as Jill was talking to one of the assistant coaches, but she turned her attention to me when I got closer.
“Hi, Jo,” Jill greeted me. I only gave a small nod in acknowledgement. “Look, I don’t want you to focus on being the absolute best right now. I just want you to focus on getting settled in and getting used to the team. Think you can handle that?”
“Yeah, of course, Coach.”
“That’s what I like to hear,” Jill said. She held a keycard out to me. I took it before sliding it into my pocket. “You’ll be rooming with Becky Sauerbrunn. Becky will help make sure that you study for school. I know that you have final exams coming up.”
“Yeah, I’ll make sure to study,” I nodded. It was one of the only reasons my parents had let me come to camp anyways. “My parents gave me certain grades to get on my finals anyways if I want to come back to camp during the school year.”
“Just don’t stress out too much between soccer and school. Don’t need your play suffering because you’re too stressed out,” Dawn said from the side.
I looked over at her before I nodded. I knew that she was right. I really didn’t need to stress too much about everything.
“You want to know a secret?” Jill asked. I looked back over at her before slightly nodding. “I already plan on calling you back up for the next camp, okay? I know that this is going to be a stressful camp for you with it being so close to the end of the school year and you joining the senior squad. I just wanted to get you into camp so you would have an idea of what it’s like. The only thing that will keep me from calling you up for the next camp is you getting injured. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“All right, all of your gear is in your room. Ryan’s got everything up there for you. We’ll get you into media here in the next couple of days,” Jil said as she looked over at the rest of the staff. I guess they weren’t all coaches after all. “If your gear breaks or wears down, including shin pads or boots, you tell Ryan and he’ll help you get new gear within the same day.”
My eyes landed on the man who sent me a small smile and wave. I guess that was Ryan.
“Okay, cool.”
“I think that’s about all that I have for you. I’ll let you get settled in,” Jill said as she sent me a small smile. “I’m sure the girls are dying to get to know you. They’re probably waiting on the floor to bombard you with questions as we speak.”
I nodded at that before I gathered my bags and headed to the elevators. I didn’t have to wait long for an elevator. Once I was inside the elevator and by myself, I sighed as I watched the numbers climb higher. I wasn’t entirely sure what was waiting for me at the top though. But I definitely didn’t expect for a majority of the players to be standing in front of the elevator doors staring back at me.
I shuffled off of the elevator but I didn’t try to push past any of the older players.
“Hi,” I said as I rubbed the back of my neck and looked down at my shoes. I really needed to get new shoes. And ones that weren’t hand-me-downs from Deliliah.
“God, you really are just a kid.”
I looked up to meet Megan Rapinoe’s eyes as she finished the statement. I only shrugged my shoulders. It wasn’t like I could change the fact that I was fifteen.
“So, are you any good, kid?”
I could only stare back at Abby. I mean it was Abby Wambach. I slowly nodded as I realized everyone was still looking at me for an answer.
“Well, I mean, I think I am at least,” I said as I rocked back and forth on my heels. “I’ve been playing with people older than me for all of my life.”
“Oh, yeah? How much older?”
“Well, I started playing with my club's U16 team when I was 12 and then I moved up to the U18 team when I was 14.”
“So you’re a prodigy?” Lauren Cheney asked. I only shrugged my shoulders at that.
I wasn’t sure that I would call myself a prodigy. I put in a lot of work into my game, but it did feel like soccer was in my blood. Like I was meant to play this game.
“As if some pipsqueak could get a ball past any goalie worth being on a national team.”
A lot of the players in front of me turned to the voice that came from the back of the group. A few even glared at the person. I could only look anywhere else but at the woman who had made the remark as she narrowed her eyes at me.
“I don’t think you could even get one ball past me.”
A few of the older players started to scold the woman while the others muttered amongst themselves.
“I think the coaches would beg to differ.”
All of the older players went silent as all of their eyes turned back to me. I still refused to make eye contact with any of them or even look at the woman as she pushed her way to the front of the group.
“The opinions of our coaches doesn’t matter if the facts state otherwise.”
“What facts? That I’m fifteen? I’m smaller than you?” I asked as I finally met Hope Solo’s eyes. “Everyone underestimates me. Everyone. And I thrive with the underestimations. And tomorrow, during practice, you’ll underestimate me and you don’t even know what I can do. You have no idea if you should or not. But you’ll do it anyway because of how small I am. Because of my age. And when I get that ball, every single touch will matter. And nothing you do will stop that.”
The two of us only stared at each other as Hope towered over me.
“Hey, break it up!” A new voice called out. Most of the women moved to the side, but Hope didn’t budge and I refused to break eye contact with her now. “I said break it up.”
Hope didn’t move. Not until Christie Rampone put her hand on the keeper’s arm.
“Just don’t be surprised when I crush your dreams tomorrow, kid.”
I watched Hope’s back as she turned and walked away from the group.
“What’s going on here?” Christie asked. I only moved my gaze down to my feet again. I didn’t want the eyes on me. Not like this. Christie’s gaze moved from me to the rest of the team when she realized that I wasn’t going to say anything. “I thought I told you all to back off the kid for now.”
There it was again.
Kid.
That’s all I was to everyone. Just some kid who had no idea what she was getting into.
“The kid’s got balls.”
I didn’t care who had said it as I pushed my way through them all so I could get to my room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hope wants you to take penalties against her,” Jill said as she looked down at me. I had my hands on my knees as I was trying to get my breath back after I had ran the length of the field to get the ball back before taking it back toward my team’s goal myself before I had gotten the assist. “You okay to do that?”
I stayed quiet as I nodded my head. I knew what she was doing. Hope either figured that I would chicken out and refuse to take the penalties or she would be able to stop them.
“No one can stop me,” I said as I stood up to look Jill in the eye. “That’s why you called me up, isn’t it? You saw that no one had an answer on how to stop me at the youth levels.”
“I called you up because you have potential.”
“You don’t have to lie to me,” I said as I looked over where most of the team was. “You can tell them that your decision was based on potential, but don’t lie to me . And now you’re curious to know if Solo can stop me.”
“I’ll admit, I’ve been a bit confused as to why Hope wants to try to humiliate you,” Jill said as she looked over at Hope. “But I did call you up because of the potential. I mean, if you’re already able to play the way you currently are and you’re only fifteen, what can you do in a year after playing with the best women in the world?”
“I want to do the penalties. I want to show them I’m not just some kid who can’t hold their own.”
Jill turned her gaze back to me as she stared at me for a moment. I knew that practice was about to wrap up so it made sense for us to do this now anyways.
“Gather up!” Jill yelled, causing most of the players to turn to where we were standing. “Just know that Hope added an extra stipulation to it.”
Jill tossed me a water bottle as everyone on the team gathered around Jill.
“We’re going to have a penalty shoot out! five shots just like an in game shoot out,” Jill announced. A few of the players groaned. I wasn’t sure if the team had to do something like this a lot or not. “Today’s shoot out will be a little different, though. Solo in goal for all five while Knox shoots them all. Majority wins, just like in a game. If Hope saves 3, outfielders run extra laps. If Jo makes 3, goalies run extra laps.”
I didn’t miss the way some of the older players were muttering to each other about the rules. This was quite unfortunate. If I somehow wasn’t able to make 3 of my penalties then I was really screwed because I knew that the older players would absolutely hate that I hadn’t been able to back up my talk from the previous night and be the reason they had to run extra.
“Line up!”
Everyone else moved to the midfield as Hope headed for the goal. I trailed behind Jill who picked up a ball.
“You really want everyone to hate me, don’t you?”
“I really want to see if you’re as good as you think,” Jill said. She glanced over her shoulder at me. “Score 3 of them and none of them will hate you.”
I sighed as Jill handed me the ball before she moved to talk to Hope. I stopped at the penalty spot before I placed the ball how I wanted it. I eventually moved back when I was sure that I had the ball like I wanted it.
I waited for Jill to finish talking to Hope before she moved to the side. I tried to ignore all of the eyes on my back. It was just a penalty, I didn’t even have to get past any defenders. I waited until Jill blew the whistle.
Then I waited one more moment as I finally picked my spot.
I rushed toward the ball before I put as much power as I could behind the shot. The ball sailed perfectly into the top left corner as Hope had just missed the ball by less than a fingertip. I didn’t miss the cheers behind me. I grinned even as Hope glared at me.
I stopped the ball with my foot when Jill kicked it toward me before I picked the ball up. I placed the ball back like I wanted it before moving back behind the ball. I waited until I heard the whistle. This time I didn’t give Hope any extra seconds as I was rushing forward as soon as I heard the whistle. The ball hit the top left corner again.
This was going well for me. I already had two of the three goals that I needed. And Hope hadn’t been able to stop even one. I took a deep breath as I placed the ball on the penalty spot for a third time.
I gave myself an extra moment again this time, but this one lasted even longer than the first time I had taken an extra moment. I just needed one more in the back of the net. This time the ball fired off of the sidebar before knocking into the goal.
The posts were still rattling as Hope threw a glare at me, but I only smirked and shrugged my shoulders. I didn’t actually care about myself having to run, but I had wanted to prove that I knew what I was doing. And it definitely helped that I had gotten to show off against the Hope Solo in the process.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“That was an amazing game,” Julie Foudy said. I grinned at the praise that I was receiving through the headset. “Tell me about it from your perspective.”
“You know, I just wanted to go in and show everyone what I could do,” I shrugged. It was true. I had really just wanted to show what I could do at this level. “I didn’t exactly expect to get a goal coming in so late if I’m honest. But I’m happy to have been able to help the team get the win.”
“And your first cap and goal comes against Canada. That’s got to be an amazing feeling,” Julie said as I nodded. It really had been amazing. “Knowing what our rivalry with Canada is like and having played them before. It’s a great game to get your first cap.”
“Yeah, it was definitely incredible. I don’t think I could have asked for a much better opponent to get my first cap against,” I said. I glanced over my shoulder where I watched as the rest of my team was headed to the locker rooms. “It’s definitely different getting to play in the game rather than just watching it on TV. And if today was any indication of how hard the games against Canada always are, I’m looking forward to future games.”
“Well, do you have any plans when you get home? I mean, you just got your first cap and it’s time for summer break.”
“Uh, not so much as fun plans right off the bat. I have finals to take when I get home,” I admitted. I rubbed the back of my neck at the reminder. “After that, I don’t have many plans other than soccer. Might take a trip to the lake sometime over the summer if I’m lucky. Just have to see what my summer schedule turns out to look like.”
“All right, well, I’ll let you get to the locker room so you can celebrate your first cap with the team.”
I gave the camera one last wave before I pulled the headset off and handed it off to one of the crew members before I headed down the tunnel. I was a bit surprised when I stepped into the locker room only to have water dumped onto my head. I couldn’t help the grin that broke out on my face though as a lot of the older players cheered around me.
“Okay! Okay! Settle down!” Christie called out. She had a ball in her hands as everyone settled down. “We have the game ball for Jo to celebrate her first cap and her first goal which gave us the win over Canada!”
Everyone cheered again as Christie handed me the ball.
“Go ahead and say a few words, kid.”
Everyone went quiet again as I rolled the ball in my hands. I wasn’t even sure what to say.
“I’ve been watching this team ever since I could remember. Some of you, I’ve been looking up to ever since I was a really little kid. Some of you, I’ve only been looking up to you in the most recent years. But it has always been a dream to get to play with this team and it’s been amazing to get my first cap with such an amazing group of women,” I said as I looked around the locker room. “I really can’t wait to get more training time at camps and work with all of you even more. And I guess the last thing is, I’d like you all to sign the ball so I can always remember who was here for my first cap.”
It didn’t take long until I had the ball back in my hands after the team had passed it around to sign it. Now I was standing in probably the only person in the locker room who still had a bone to pick with me. I held the ball out to Hope as she stared at it.
“Come on,” I said as I only pushed the ball further toward her. “It’d be a shame if I didn’t get the whole team to sign the ball. And last time I checked, you’re part of the team.”
Hope rolled her eyes but she took the ball from me before signing it. I grinned once Hope gave me the ball back.
“I still don’t like you that much.”
“You don’t have to. You just have to be my teammate.”

honey, i'll always be here, holding your hand
Tumblr media
summary ~ y/n has been struggling, and leah's always here to help.
warning ~ disordered eating, angst (do not read if you feel it will trigger you)
a/n ~ i kinda wrote this as a vent and so i could get the end message out, and i'm always here if your struggling just msg me xx
also this is my first lw imagine soooo sorry if it's shit (it's also quite short)
distance. that's what y/n was doing, distancing herself from her wife. y/n and leah had been married for 3 years and one quite large question was bound to come up soon, and the only plan y/n can find to get herself out of it was to distance herself for the moment.
she sees the way leah acts with children, she looks at them with so much love, and so much longing. she's expressed her love for children in the past but the topic of their own hasn't brushed the surface yet. leah wasn't aware of a large part of her wife's life that would impact her want for her own children.
y/n had, and still slightly has an eating disorder, it caused her period to fade, she hadn't got her period in months, and she was sure that she wouldn't be fertile.
of course leah had some idea of y/n's struggle with eating, because she's always sort of had it. y/n was an actress, a oscar winning actress. so the public eye and constant criticism wasn't good for anyone's self esteem, but the constant comments got to y/n's head early on, and no matter what they stayed.
she got very good at hiding it though, she never looked 'anorexic' though no body 'looks anorexic' she was naturally thin, but at times how thin she was exactly scared leah. y/n hid her scale, basically memorised the amount of calories in almost all food, became a borderline mathematician when it came to adding, and she also had a tendency to binge when she was alone. so without being extremely observant you wouldn't of guessed she had disordered eating.
but it did catch up to her slightly, especially the side effects, her hair was thinning, she barley had a period, her nails where brittle, and she was often tired, but she always told her wife it was 'just a cold i've caught' or 'it must be an anemia flare up' and leah believed it, mostly because she communicated almost every other issue but this.
so she distanced.
and then the distance became too much.
"y/n wafts happened, and don't say nothing because i k know it's not, you barley talk to me, barley touch me, we barley have sex and if we do you never let me do anything to you, you're never like that and you know it, and you never eat with me, i can't stand it anymore, just talk to me. is there someone else? because of there is i'd rather know now than later"
leah finally broke the silence.
"no, no there's no one else, swear on nachos life"
nach was their shared dogs name, leah relaxed slight knowing that she weren't ever going to lie on his life.
"okay then what is it? i'm staying here until you tell me. i deserve to know"
leah did deserve to know
y/n just stared at leah for a few seconds to ground herself.
"okay... i will tell you, but you need to understand i didn't know how to tell you until it was too late"
y/n just said blankly, deciding she needed to come clean.
"alright..."
leah replied confused
"i can't have kids leah, well i don't think i can, and i know you can't because of your endo, and i know how badly you want them, but i can't give it to you, so i understand if you want to find someone who can and..."
y/n looked down, eyes welling with tears, but leah used her hand to hold y/n's chin to make her look at her.
"honey, i don't care if you can't have kids, we can always adopt, or foster, you never know! i love you because of who you are, not if you can have kids or not silly! ... but if you don't mind me asking, did something happen so you can't have children or how come it hasn't come up earlier?"
leah asked sympathetically.
"um... leah, i'm still not sure how to say this... but you deserve to know... i um... think i may of maybe, well i'm pretty sure i've got some sort of eating problem lee... and i don't know, i just like can't stop? i've tried everything on my own but, i can't eat without all the numbers and it won't go away, it's consuming me, it's all a think about, and i don't want to think about it, i really really don't, but it won't go away, and it's gotten to the point where i haven't had a period in months, the last one i had was 6 months ago and it barley lasted a day lee... i don't think i can have kids anymore, and i don't even know how to live normally anymore."
y/n vented, but as soon as she stop she tried to take a deep breath in, but she couldn't, her air was stuck, it was like she was so scared and her body was rejecting air, her chest tightened and her vision and hearing faded very quickly.
she was having a panic attack.
"oh shit, honey, please look at me"
leah tried to calm the girl down, still in shock herself, but y/n always came first.
"baby i'm gonna hold you alright, tap me if you don't like it, okay? and just listen to my heart beat and follow my breathing"
it took a while but eventually y/n's breathing steadied and became more normal again, tears still falling, she wasn't sure why, maybe the hunger took over, she didn't even know her self.
"okay it's fine if you don't want to talk today, but i'm so so proud of you for telling me alright? you are so unbelievably strong for being able to tell me, and i'm so sorry for not noticing, and not being able to help you earlier, but i'm going to help you now okay? but can you kinda explain little more how exactly you're struggling with food?"
"well... umm... i guess i've always kinda had struggles with eating? like... you remember when we first stared dating i was like constantly on one diet or another, and then i stoped, and then i gained a bit of weight, and i lost control, like the part of my brain that tells me when i was hungry, or like what j was in the mood for was controlled by someone else, and i think part of it was the media, and i began counting calories, and it's not something i can stop because my brain has too know how many calories are in a meal, or how many grams of carbs or i'll go nuts, i will spiral, and the amount of food i eat like kinda got smaller by the day, and now i can barley eat a meal without wanting to through up. but then other days i eat to much that i'm throwing up so... i don't even know leah... i have no idea what to do anymore"
and the tears came back
"shhh im here baby. right here, and i'm not giving up, ever. im gonna be right by you holding your hand until your where you desire to be, i'll be holding your hand no matter what, because i love you soo incredibly much. i vowed in sickness and health, and your a bit ill now, but i'll help you until your better"
and y/n did get better. in fact she got her life back over the next year. she got freedom, and even got her period back, and was actually able to carry hers and leah's baby together. it got better. and i gets better
