Local Bumper Repairs in Sydney - Camperdown Collision Centre
How much is bumper repair?
The cost of bumper repair can vary widely depending on several factors, including the extent of the damage, the type of vehicle, the location of the repair shop, and the materials and labor required. Here are some factors that can influence the cost of bumper repair:
Tumblr media
Type of Damage: Minor scratches and dents may cost less to repair than significant structural damage or a completely shattered bumper.
Bumper Material: The cost can also depend on whether your bumper is made of plastic, fiberglass, or other materials. Different materials require different repair techniques and may have varying costs.
Paint Matching: If the repair involves repainting the bumper, the cost will increase, especially if your vehicle's paint color is unique or challenging to match.
Labor Costs: Labor rates vary by location and can significantly impact the overall cost of the repair.
Additional Parts: If other components like brackets, sensors, or lights need to be replaced or repaired along with the bumper, this will add to the cost.
Location: The cost of bumper repair can differ depending on where you live. Repair shops in larger cities or affluent areas may charge more for their services.
Insurance Coverage: If you have auto insurance that covers bumper damage, your out-of-pocket expenses may be lower. However, you may still need to pay a deductible.
DIY vs. Professional Repair: Attempting a DIY bumper repair can save money on labor costs but might not yield professional-quality results, and you could make the damage worse.
Age and Make of the Vehicle: Older or less common vehicles may have higher repair costs due to the availability of replacement parts.
Severity of the Damage: More extensive damage may require more time and materials, resulting in a higher cost.
To get an accurate estimate for bumper repair, it's best to contact local auto repair shops or body shops and provide them with details about your specific situation. They can assess the damage and give you a more precise estimate based on the factors mentioned above. Additionally, if you have insurance coverage, you can consult with your insurance company to determine what is covered and what your out-of-pocket costs will be.

saw this pic and had to think of price coming home from one of his missions, his kid running up to him and jumping in his arms. only difference is that prince would probably drive a land rover.
the photo in question
but i squealed. the way you specifically mentioned land rover (i am the biggest range rover/land rover fan there ever was. i miss my range rover sport every DAY). but, price 100% drives a defender. also, probably has an older one that he works on when he's home trying to restore it.
you knew price would be coming home today, but decided to keep the information from your 3 year old. who was quietly playing with his toys while the tv filled the living room with noise. in the kitchen, you tidied up from breakfast earlier that morning as your growing bump pressed against the edge of the countertop.
the phone vibrated, your eyes glancing to see the message that popped up from price.
home in 5 minutes x
excitement quickly took over as you read the message and grabbed a dish towel to dry off your hands. fingers typing a response back to the man you've been waiting to see for 4 months now.
can't wait to see you :)
slipping the phone into your back pocket, you head into the living room to check on your son.
"john," your voice soft as the 3 year old looks up at you, waiting for you to say something else. "wanna go ride your bike?" the words not out of your mouth for more than a few seconds before he's nodding and discarding his toys on the floor, little legs rushing towards the entryway to put his shoes on. chuckling, you follow behind him at a slower pace, the 7 months of pregnancy part of the reason.
"hey, not so fast," your son about to reach for the door handle when you stop him, his jacket that hung on the coat rack in your hand. "it's still chilly out." listening to you, he walks back over and lets you help him put the jacket on.
and as the two of you head outside, it's at the same time price's land rover is pulling into the driveway. the little boy stopping in his tracks on the walkway, eyes fixated as he watches the car door open and price stepping out. the shriek of your son yelling 'daddy' causes you to even flinch, almost certain the whole neighborhood just heard it.
once price shuts the car door, he's bending down with open arms to greet the mini version of him. arms wrapping around the child securely as he stands up with him in his arms. "hey buddy," price kisses his cheek, a hand rubbing his back soothingly. "missed you so f—" price stopping himself from cursing, correcting his wording as your eyes meet and you give him a warning look. "missed you so much." he mumbled, holding the child close as little arms wrap around his neck, nuzzling the older price man.
"daddy's home." the child mumbles quietly into prices neck as his face is buried from hugging him tight as possible, tears spilling down his cheeks.
"yeah, i'm home." price confirms, kissing the top of his head before he walks over to you. securely holding his son in one arm, his other hand becomes free to touch the side of your growing bump.
"hello to you too," he murmurs, bending slightly to kiss your bump before standing back up straight. "and of course you." eyes meeting as you look up at him, his arm reaching around to your back to pull you close to his side.
"welcome home." the words the final confirmation he needs to solidify the fact he's really home. leaning down, you meet him halfway as you perk up on your tippy toes, one hand grabbing his bicep as you close the space to kiss him. the scratching feeling of his beard against your skin was one that was gone for far too long. the whiskey coke he had on his flight back making your nose scrunch at the taste of it when his tongue grazed against yours. but, even the scent of cigars that lingered on him was missed.

OTAL One Ton Amphibious Land Rover, 1965. A prototype built for the Australian army based on a Land Rover One Ton with a six cylinder petrol engine. The cab, wings and rear body are aluminium watertight compartments and all possible space was stuffed with expanded foam for buoyancy. Propulsion and steering was by the tyres. The vehicle went to Australia for trials but was never accepted and returned to the UK. More recently it was fully restored and forms part of the Dunsfold Collection

🚗 what cars would the boys drive? (Besides military issued ones)
The way I had to Google what kind of cars are common in the UK for this one 😂
I could see Price with an old restored Original Mini Cooper. Definitely gets shit for it but it really is a cool looking dad car 😂
Gaz drives something small and sporty. A Vauxhall Corsa or Hyundai i20.
Ghost? Something offroad and outdoorsy. Suzuki Jimny or a Land Rover Defender.
Johnny probably drives something he can show off in 😂 A BMW or an Audi

Currently thinking about the guys and the cars they drive…
Tumblr media
Ghost
He drives a truck. A BIG one. And it’s brand new and it’s a dark color.
He also gives me motorcycle vibes.
Soap
He drives a Jeep Wrangler, it’s bright green and it’s lifted.
Price
He drives a decent sized truck BUT he’s also a big huge nerd for old cars and at one point decided to buy like a Ford Mustang from the 1960s and restore it himself, so now he drives it sometimes when he wants to ✨treat himself✨
König
He drives one of those super-massive-for-no-reason-Hummers or Land Rovers bc those are the only things that can fit his tall ass💀
Gaz
2004 Toyota Camry that has way too many miles on it and maybe a few other problems that he ignores and he’s PROUD OF IT

thought about the opportunity rover too hard and started crying
we spend centuries staring up at the stars hoping to one day reach them, to use space to learn and grow. Now we finally have the resources and knowledge to do so and we touch our nearest neighbor. The world rejoices
but to venture farther out is a pole vault to the large step for mankind and undoubtedly dangerous, our first forays into the void taught us that much. So we send machines. We build them strong and powerful and resilient. And we give them names. Names with power, with meaning. We name one Opportunity
Opportunity lands and begins its mission. It take all the hope we imbued in the gears and broadcast out on radio waves and paid it back hundred fold. Its 90 day mission folded out into nearly 15 years. It weathers much. And one fateful sandstorm the solar panels finally get to choked up with dust to function.
back on Earth her engineers are worried as her battery decreases. The final report comes from oppy “my battery’s low and it’s getting dark”
Her engineers do their best to reach her. They hope that some wayward wind will blow away enough sand to restore functionality. They play her a song every day, from a playlist lovingly named “wake up oppy” (it’s the same playlist they used for those first few nights on the red planet. It was always such a relief when she woke up. They hope she wakes up again)
she doesn’t
after eight months with no word back the Opportunity Rover is declared dead
the world mourns
but … she’s not dead. She’s sleeping. And maybe someday humans will follow her example and land on mars.
and someone will find her
They will gently brush off the sand, dig out the wheels, and clear off the camera
and she will finally wake back up
and we’ll be able to say “hello oppy. we missed you. we never forgot you. it’s been a long time. but we’re finally here. thank you oppy. we love you”
and oppy will happily continue giving us weather updates and rock samples because that her way of saying
“I love you too”

Range Rover Goodwood (tailor-made by Wood & Pickett).
While the Range Rover has always been the 4x4 of choice for royals and industrials alike, sun-loving jetsetters were missing an open-top version for their tropical hideaways. Luckily, London-based coachbuilders Wood & Pickett solved that problem in bespoke quality and style. Luxury SUVs are common as muck these days, but if we were able to engage reverse gear and back-up 40-odd years there was really only one to choose from – the legendary original Range Rover now known as the ‘Classic’, and they don’t come much more ‘Classic’ – or rare – than this superbly restored and thoughtfully resto-modded convertible that, for our money, effortlessly outclasses anything similar being made today. It’s true that Mercedes-Benz had its G-Wagen and Jeep its Wagoneer back in the ‘80s, but the former was more utilitarian than the Range Rover and the latter simply far less chic. But while the Rangie might already have been widely regarded as truly ‘the best four by four by four by far’ there were plenty of people who wanted one that was more than a bit different from the regular production model.Solihull’s bosses discovered this for themselves in 1980, when a one-off prototype designed to test the viability of an ‘ultra luxe’ Range Rover was loaned to Vogue magazine as a prop for a Biarritz fashion shoot. When the images were published, as many enquiries were received about the car as about the Jaeger clothes and Lancome perfume that the shoot was intended to promote – and so an initial run of 1,000 ‘In Vogue’ special editions was produced. The prototype had been created by London’s Wood & Pickett which was established 20 years earlier by former Hooper coachworks craftsmen Bill Wood and Les Pickett. The firm initially made a name for itself by adding luxurious and expensive upgrades to Minis, work that initially attracted the attention of celebrities such as Rolling Stone Mick Jagger and later that of the Middle East’s super-wealthy oil sheiks. To them, however, small was not always beautiful. More often, they wanted large, and the larger and more expensive the better. So in their eyes,  the names ‘Wood & Pickett’ and ‘Range Rover’ went together like a horse and carriage.
Soon, W & P (along with similar outfits such as Vantagefield, Glenfrome, Monteverdi and Rapport) was doing a roaring trade in Range Rover upgrades, making the most of the cars’ boxy shape and separate chassis to create everything from stretched limousines to Rangies designed for going on shoots and safaris and  for carrying polo kit and elaborate picnic sets. The Wood and Pickett cars were among the most accomplished, and the firm’s managing director Eddie Collins (formerly the marketing boss of rival Mini customiser Radford) was a smooth talker who could probably sell sand to the Arabs. But instead he sold them convertible Range Rovers – capitalising nicely on the fact that cash-strapped British Leyland (the then owner of Land Rover) couldn’t afford to design and make a soft-top of its own. Most of the history of this Wood & Pickett Range Rover convertible has been lost in the mists of time, but if its early years were spent travelling through the desert in style it must have taken a wrong turn along the way – because it ended-up on a run-down housing estate in Poland where it was discovered by the current owner around a decade ago.Although still in its original coat of Range Rover ‘Masai Red’ , the car was in a decidedly sorry state. Its electric roof, torn and holed, had allowed rainwater to soak the interior, ruining everything from the plush velour seats to the once-gleaming wooden trim. Its original 3.5 litre, carburettor-fed engine had been replaced with a fuel injected lump that was running rough, and the prospect of the car ever taking to the road again seemed slim.Once acquired, the car was shipped to Germany where it was stripped to its bare bones in order for a ground-up restoration to commence – a project that turned out to be a considerably larger task than expected. In fact, it took more than eight years – plus the purchase of an additional, four-door donor car -  to transform the original, badly neglected relic into what you see here: a classic  Range Rover convertible like no other.
Although still instantly recognisable as one of Wood & Pickett’s two-door ‘Goodwood’ conversions, it has been given something of a safari look thanks to its immaculate coat of Rolls-Royce ‘Fenland Sedge’ paint, colour-coded Vogue wheels and the perfectly tailored fawn convertible roof (that once again retracts effortlessly at the touch of a button). All-new interior trim in biscuit leather continues the safari/desert theme, while freshly burnished woodwork and a Moto-Lita steering wheel enhance the overall feeling of quality.

Bristol is a city, ceremonial county and unitary authority in England. Situated on the River Avon, it is bordered by the ceremonial counties of Gloucestershire to the north and Somerset to the south. Bristol is the most populous city in South West England. The wider Bristol Built-up Areais the eleventh most populous urban area in the United Kingdom.

Brunel also engineered The Great Western Railway from London To Bristol and South Wales, He also built the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge that spans the Avon Gorge at Clifton in Bristol.
A major port, Bristol was a starting place for early voyages of exploration to the New World. On a ship "The Mathew" out of Bristol in 1497, John Cabot, a Venetian, became the first European to land on mainland North America, and In 1499, William Weston, a Bristol merchant, was the first Englishman to lead an exploration to North America. At the height of the Bristol slave trade, from 1700 to 1807, more than 2,000 slave ships carried an estimated 500,000 people from Africa to slavery in the Americas. The Port of Bristol has since moved from Bristol Harbour in the city centre to the Severn Estuary at Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Dock.
Bristol's modern economy is built on the creative media, electronics and aerospace industries; the city-centre docks have been redeveloped as centres of heritage and culture. I have just spotted a very interesting car for sale...
A Series I Land Rover (Chassis No. 11) custom built for King George VI in 1948. In 1953, the rugged all-terrain utility vehicle was delivered to Balmoral Castle. With the registration plate NXN 1, it was regularly used by HM Queen Elizabeth and The Duke of Edinburgh.
It was later used by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother at the Birkhall estate, with the registration NLT 5. In 1966, the Land Rover was sold to Pringles Victoria Garage in Ballater for £80 where it gained it's present registration plate of LXC 894 D.
It seems the classic 4x4 car was put into storage and forgotten about until 2010. King Charles found out about the car and helped fund the restoration of the Land Rover to it's original 1948 specification. The restoration was completed in February 2011, and the historic vehicle was on display for a number of years at The Grampian Transport Museum.
In 2022, the Land Rover led the parade of vintage vehicles passing Buckingham Palace for the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
The Queen's Land Rover is to be auctioned by Silverstone Auctions at its Race Retro event on 25 February 2023. The guide price is £100k - £150k... although I suspect it will sell for much more than this. You can register your interest here: Silverstone Auctions.

The Devil in Disguise (3/5)
Traintober 2022 Day 17 - Angel
Summary - What meets the end of this train crash? Is it the Angel? Or the Devil?
-
Tumblr media
It took until well after midnight for the wreckage to be cleared. The crews had been working around the clock since noon, and were finally sent home after the last remnants of the train had been cleared from the main line. Tomorrow - or perhaps it should be called today - rails and sleepers would arrive, and they’d restore at least one section of line to passing traffic.
The crash site itself was empty, silent save for the clattering of diesel generators that ran huge light towers. The lights threw huge patches of day onto the broken landscape, banishing the night in neat circular patches.
Only a few night watchmen were around, inside conspicuous Land Rovers marked “SECURITY” in large letters. Everywhere else, the site was empty - it was all rural farmland around the line, and even the cows had gotten bored. When the air suddenly turned heavy, and a cold wind blew from everywhere and nowhere at once, the only ones around to notice were the 307 and the 47.
It emerged from the darkness like it hadn’t been there at all, suddenly materializing from a mist the instant it touched the light.
It was a steam engine,
It was a diesel,
It was an electric,
It was a multiple unit,
It was a coach,
It was a wagon,
It was everyone,
It was nobody,
It was someone very special,
It was someone never known.
It rolled up to the class 307, who stared at it with a dull, lifeless expression. “This it then?” He said, quietly.
The spectral locomotive looked at him, morphing into a form that drew unwanted tears to his eyes. No, It said in a voice that caused his breath to hitch in his throat. Not for you. There is more of your story left to tell.
“What?” He coughed, trying not to show his suddenly unchecked emotions. “But, after all that I’ve- after what’s just… I’m not one o’ the good ones!”
The locomotive looked at him, a great sadness filling its ethereal eyes. Your life has never been one of your own making. Your pain… should never have occurred, t’were this a just world.
“Tha’s not supposed to make a difference! My choices! My actions! I did all that wrong! Don’t you wear her face and sit here telling me I’m worthy!”
A single diaphanous tear dropped from an ethereal eye, sparkling in the harsh artificial light of the night. The form swirled and changed, until it was another class 307 - no, the same 307 - that stretched into the edge of the light. I know. It said simply, its voice a chorus of the exalted dead. I know that you have not been a perfect creature. Very few are, these days.
The mist-shrouded being sighed greatly, exhaustion rolling from its very being. If I only went to those who were pure of action, I would be very lonely indeed, nowadays. Another celestial pause. I choose to comfort those who are pure of heart.
“But I’m no-” The 307 tried to protest.
Keep telling yourself that, you old fart. A chorus of the damned shrieked from nowhere. The 307 nearly jumped out of his frames at that, and a pair of beady red eyes materialized in the darkness outside the light. It’s not gonna make it any more true.
The eyes flared, and a demonic apparition that bore resemblance to an engine became visible behind them.
“W-what?” The 307 stammered, now suddenly scared.
You’re not one of the bad ones. The demonic engine howled. Trust me on this one.
“How-howhow could you possibly know th-”
We’re agents of fate
We can see beyond what you can
Into places you don’t understand
The greatest evils can come from the good
And the most good can be done by the bad
The two, one demonic, one angelic, intoned powerfully, their words seeming to penetrate deep into the multiple unit’s soul.
I did have to be here tonight, but not for you. Don’t know why they’s here though. The demon looked at the angel through the side of its eyes, from outside the circle of light.
I am here, The angel said firmly. To right a wrong. Even the scales, so to speak.
It looked into the 307’s eyes. Go to sleep now, my child. When you awaken, things will be better.
It dissolved into a cloud of stars, and they blanketed the multiple unit from end to end. Even with all that just happened, he suddenly felt like he’d been awake for days, and his eyes could no longer hold themselves open. Slowly, they drifted shut, and then all was dark.
On his body, the cloud of stars pulled back from his form, leaving in their wake a series of official notices:
INSPECTED - SAFE TO MOVE

There's a guy on YouTube I think you'd like, Maximus Ironthumper. He's a guy who lives off-grid in a house he built himself from reclaimed materials, and makes his own power, heat, water, etc. He's also a pretty keen blacksmith and does a lot of videos about making tools and cutlery, and also restoring old Land Rovers with his bare hands.
Oh I'l check him.out. thanks
