Land Rover Defender Works V8 70th Edition
The mountain goat of an SUV has been an icon in the off-roading world. No-nonsense, tough as nails, and about as aerodynamic as a window air-conditioning unit, the Defender goes where few others can. In a final edition of sorts, Land Rover has outfitted both the 90 (2-door) and 110 (4-door) Defender with its most potent mill yet, a burly 5.0-liter V8 that delivers a mud-slinging 400-horsepower and launches the SUV to 60 in 5.6 seconds. This one gets outfitted with Recaro sports seats clad in two-tone Taurus leather, so you’re backside isn’t wanting for comfort as you bound over rocks. It’s also easier to drive thanks to a new ZF 8-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and quickshift responsiveness. And to uphold its rugged reputation, the 70th Edition gets a dual-speed transfer case with a center differential, as well as updated suspension components and brakes. You can’t buy it here, sadly, but it might just be worth it to move to the UK just to own one. Only 150 of these will be made, and we hope you get yours in classic green.

DYLAN FROST - A BRIEF HISTORY;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
❥ welcome to marina, dylan frost ( cismale, he/him ) ! they are a twenty-nine year old who has lived on the island for one month. word on the street is they’re currently living in locke row and works as a musician/drug dealer. everyone also says they look a lot like chase stokes. what do you think?
Full Name: Dylan Henry Frost
Age: 29
Date Of Birth: 15 September 1994
Zodiac: Virgo
Parents: Steven Frost and Michelle Dixon
Siblings: Three step-siblings
Orientation: Heterosexual
Occupation: Musician/Drug Dealer
Languages: English

Negative: Sarcastic, temperamental, stubborn, hot-headed
CONNECTIONS | PINTEREST
BACKSTORY (TW Drugs)
Dylan Frost was born into an almost underwhelmingly normal family, in a completely normal neighbourhood in Kentucky. His mother was a primary school teacher, his father a bank teller (and to Dylan’s bitter amusement) a high-functioning gambler. He wasn’t a troubled child, but his parents used to say to all of their equally normal friends and colleagues that he emerged from the womb with an attitude, and that attitude stuck with him all through adolescence (often getting him into fights, much to the abhorrence and tired frustration of his mother). He was a nightmare in classes, being a nuisance and making smart mouth comments wherever possible. He hated school, except for one subject. Music. He wasn’t sure why, but he took to it from an early age; it serving as his only real enjoyment in his boring reality.
As he grew up, Dylan’s father became more of a memory than a presence, spending more and more time away from home; telling his wife and son that he’d been promoted and had to take on new responsibilities that required longer hours. Dylan’s mother being a firm advocator of burying her head in the sand chose to believe him, but Dylan knew the truth. It came as barely a surprise to him when he woke up one morning to the sound of his parents arguing and then his father rushing out the front door and speeding away, never to return. He later discovered through eavesdropping his mother’s phone conversations that his father had stolen money from his workplace to fuel his addiction and when he’d gotten caught, had withdrawn almost everything from the family savings and run away to evade police. Dylan wasn’t the smartest fifteen-year-old on earth, but he knew that his mother’s grade school teacher wage wouldn’t get them far. He quit school immediately, almost looking for an excuse to leave anyway, and got a job packing boxes at a local warehouse. It wasn’t much but it helped, plus he’d also started to hold acoustic shows in people’s basements and backyards for free. In Kentucky, word spread fast and it wasn’t long before he started booking himself paid gigs as well.
It was always his goal to get out of his hometown; as far as he was concerned there were no prospects for him there, but he couldn’t while he was supporting him and his mother. By the time he was seventeen, he was working three jobs as well as moonlighting as a musician. His relationship with his mother always stayed in the same place. They neither bonded or hated each other; rather they acted as mere shadows, brushing past each other occasionally. He rarely saw her smile until she met an incredibly straightlaced businessman who had been a widower for several years and had three well behaved children; who to Dylan resembled lifeless robots. He was the tarnish on a now perfect image; the black sheep.  He didn’t need anyone to spell it out for him, he wasn’t wanted and not needing any further persuasion, packed up his things, took what little money he’d saved for himself and left. Ever since, he’s been travelling with his guitar; couch surfing from city to city, letting life dictate where he goes next; with his latest stop being Marina Island.
HEADCANONS
Dylan's most prized possessions in his life are his two guitars and his old Land Rover Defender 90 that makes a strange rattling noise every now and then, but is easily drowned out with loud enough music.
Dylan has made a habit of collecting tattoos in every town his visited, a lot of them holding no particular meaning but rather the result of a alcohol-fuelled Friday night.
He learned a long time ago that just being a musician doesn't often cover the costs of living, so Dylan took up dealing drugs as a side hustle. He's never been a heavy user himself, but will dabble every now and then when he needs a break from his reality.
Despite Dylan's overly sarcastic, assholish and disinterested demeanour, there is a softness deep down in him that not many people have seen, but if taken the time can definitely be discovered. He just has to know that it's worth him opening up and being vulnerable.
MORE TO COME!

My 2023 in retrospect...
Well, that year is almost over. Here's my story of 2023.
This year marked the 30th Anniversary of my time at the Surrey Downs Child Care Centre which I didn't like a little at first as I felt like a prisoner but I soon got the hang of it later. Also, my first video game, 'Super Mario All-Stars' for the SNES hit store shelves 30 years ago too but didn't get it until Christmas a year later at that time.
In January, I went to the St Kilda Mangrove Boardwalk for the first time in many years. It looked a bit different compared with last time I looked.
In February, I got a Lightburn Zeta coffee mug and saw a show at the Garden Of Unearthly Delights all by myself for the first time in my life! Then later, I saw Luke Million perform music from his first album 'Gina The Synth Cat' on his handy keytar! Then at the end, I got lucky and managed to grab one of his drumsticks! From a shop in Chinatown, I bought a Pikachu-design bathroom spout extension which slides onto most horizontal spouts!
In March, I got my Knight Rider Historians tee-shirt showing the GMC Prime Mover & Trailer which is now currently being restored. Went to the new TK-Maxx store at Churchill Centre in Kilburn and tried both 'Bard' & 'Barbarian' burgers from Carl's Jr who have teamed up with the board game based film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Theives. After a remarkable 25 Years, Ash Ketchum's quest to become a true Pokemon Master came to an epic conclusion with the callback mini-series, 'Aim To Be A Master'. He and Pikachu came a long, long way together through the low times and the high. We still saluted him, celebrated him and praised him like we should.
In April, I went to a LEGO exhibit at the Museum Of Adelaide, then to a car show at Echunga Oval and then to an Easter carnival on Ridley Reserve. Bought the LEGO Icons 'Land Rover Defender 110' which is considered to be my best one for 2023 with working suspension, steering and the ability to tow! I even built a trailer to go with it!
In May, I took a time-lapse video of a Wisdom 'Sizzler' ride being setup for the first time in my life! Built a LEGO model of the gas heater we used to have in the lounge room until 2007. Went on a few tram rides at the St Kilda Tramway Museum.
In June, went to the Model Railway Exhibition in Angle Park. Then went on a few buses during a 'Farewell Tour' of the MAN NL202 fleet.
In July, I put 'Richard Stevens Hire' decals on my blue LEGO trailer as a nod to the days before Kennards came to South Australia! The old streetlights on our street were upgraded to LED. Saw the 'Barbie' movie at Hoyts. Brixpo was way better than ever, so was AVCon!
In August, The St Kilda Tramway Museum had a showcase of old buses. Then I went to the Gawler Show.
In September, Went to the Royal Adelaide Show and saw a small ex-John Martins semi trailer which was owned by one of the amusement companies. The supposed Masters Home Improvement store in Noarlunga is now being converted to Bunnings after sitting unused for quite some time. My grandmother Ann Smith turned 90 and we celebrated her birthday at the main hall in her aged care village. Took a hike in Cobbler Creek Recreation Park and I was exceptionally lucky to avoid getting bitten by a snake which could've cut my life short. Then I finally advanced onto my full driver's license and had a beer at the Old Spot Hotel in commemoration of the 15th Anniversary of my first 'legal drink'.
In October, The former house of 'The Owens' (i.e. my mother's parents) was put up for sale. Had a discussion with an NDIS employee at the Disabilty, Ageing & Lifestyle Expo at the showgrounds. Then for the first time in almost 13 years, looked around in the Roseworthy Agricultural Museum and went on some rides at the Roseworthy Miniature Railway Club! Went to the Tonsley Hotel in Clovelly Park to have a meal before it closed its doors to be redeveloped for the T2D Infrastructure Project. The former Red Rooster building at Harbor Town in West Beach was finally demolished after TEN YEARS! Then I went to the National Motor Museum for the 'Bay To Birdwood' car showcase!
In November, Went to the first ever Tiny Homes Expo at the Adelaide Showgrounds. Ingle Farm Shopping Centre changed its name to Ingle Farm Plaza and the old 'wind pump' signboards had to be removed and replaced with generic rectangular ones. Went to the Skye Lookout for a lovely view of the city and its surroundings. Bought the new Jazwares 'Train & Play Deluxe Pikachu' from Toyworld! I just couldn't resist it.
In December, I went to the new entertainment complex in the former Harris Scarfe floors of Rundle Place. Received my 1/43 Scale Knight Rider FLAG Rig from a seller in Portugal but was in a few pieces so I had to gorilla-glue them back on. Also did a repair to a LEGO Fabuland plane set as the left-side exhaust pipe was in two pieces when I bought it from a shop in Cowell. Went on Adelaide's first ever BEB (Battery-Electric Bus) on Route 99C for the first time in my life! For Christmas, I got the new LEGO Chevrolet Corvette!

1998 Land Rover Defender 130
The Land Rover Defender (initially introduced as the Land Rover 110 / One Ten, and in 1984 joined by the Land Rover 90 / Ninety, plus the new, extra-length Land Rover 127 in 1985) is a series of British off-road cars and pickup trucks. They consistently have four-wheel drive, and were developed in the 1980s from the original Land Rover series which was launched at the Amsterdam Motor Show in April 1948. Following the 1989 introduction of the Land Rover Discovery, the term 'Land Rover' became the name of a broader marque, and thus no longer worked as the name of a specific model; thus in 1990 Land Rover renamed the 90 and 110 as Defender 90 and Defender 110 respectively. The 127 became the Defender 130.
The vehicle, a British equivalent of the Second World War derived (Willys) Jeep, gained a worldwide reputation for ruggedness and versatility. Using a steel ladder chassis and an aluminium alloy bodywork, the Land Rover originally used detuned versions of Rover engines. The original Defender is still being produced in developing countries despite the arrival of the Land Rover Defender.
Though the Defender was not a new generation design, it incorporated significant changes, compared to the series Land Rovers, such as adopting coil springs front and rear, as opposed to all leaf springs on the previous; except for retaining rear leaf springs on high capacity (payload) models. Coil springs offered both better ride quality and improved axle articulation. Adding a lockable centre differential to the transfer case gave the Defender permanent (on-road) four-wheel-drive capability. Both changes were derived from the Range Rover, and the interiors were also modernized.
Externally, a full-length bonnet and full-width integrated grille and headlights, combined with (finally) a single-piece windscreen, plus widened wheel arches that covered new, wider-track axles were the most noticeable changes. Initially the engineering department conserved a part-time 4WD system, like on previous models, but it failed to sell, and this option was dropped in 1984. While the engine was carried over from the Series III, a new series of modern and more powerful engines was progressively introduced.
Even when ignoring the series Land Rovers and perhaps ongoing license products, the 90/110 and Defender models' 33-year production run were ranked as the sixteenth longest single-generation car in history in 2020.

But no doubt it's great off-roader performance, no one can neglect its features but in the competition with others suvs they all offer luxury, comfort and adventure.         Defender driving experience is very fascinating, simply meaning its perfect suv.  Motorway cruising exemplifies refinement too. Outside clamours have been stifled so the cabin is a calm spot. The cost is high, but keeping the vehicle out and about demonstrates exorbitant. The motor is great however very parched, which keeps the fuel normal low. We know very well that land rover defenders are very famous and each new model ought to have a stronger appeal to convey the prevalence. The solid design and manufacturing quality of the latest defender present that the fundamental attribute of the vehicle has been constant. Exterior is Modern but also keeps the old flair
The short or standard-wheelbase model offers three entryways, which demonstrates hard-to-arrive at back column seats. This model is more sleek and engaging than functional. With regards to tech includes the nothing missing  so just less inside space is the primary difference from the more extended make. Continuous significant distance drives and demand for common sense push purchasers to choose Land Rover defender 110. One more choice in this long wheelbase model is a plug in hybrid 110. The main electric range of this SUV is 27 miles. It has the fascination for green vehicle purchasers, aware of the climate. Old models seek treatment and become very much like new ones. The reasonableness of this 4×4 SUV likewise requests to persevere with this shape but modern features have been added to it. Edges have been bent excellently so the smooth and wonderful look of the latest model is very alluring.
Powerful Engine of Vehicle is not Cheap to Run Especially in Land Rover Defender
Air suspension system is excellent in Land Rover Defender 110 but in this you have a coil spring in the short base model of the suv. The installation of air suspension is perfect and you can offer a lower floor to enter the lodge and enhance ground space when required. The Defender has a great clearance for wading water with air suspension is 900mm which is best in this category. Land Rover V8 engine of 5.0 litre is installed in both short and long-wheelbase models of the SUV. This offers a mammoth ability to pull the vehicle on smooth black-top or rough surface. At the point when you really want the replacement parts of your vehicle, the choice of utilised parts checks out. Brand new engines are pricey so old model users of the SUV lean toward second hand Land Rover defenders engines available to be purchased. All wheels drive to make driving simple on smooth tracks. Defender has a powerful engine so it's not cheap to run it. It's very costly but it is a capable suv, its hybrid model is a little bit cheap. Usually owners never know the actual capabilities of defenders so the heavy price is not a big deal. Mostly a commercial land rover defender model used by the rescue workers and some other services. 2023 Land Rover Defender 130
Like the Defender 90 and 110, the new 130 body design borrows its name from the original Defender family, inspired by the longest model in the line-up. It allows customers to effortlessly transport up to eight people across various terrain and is the ultimate demonstration of Defender’s breadth of talents.
A host of exterior and interior design enhancements and technologies distinguish New Defender 130, uniquely balancing comfort with customary Defender durability and capability.
To celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Land Rover is gifting Her Majesty and the British Red Cross a specially commissioned New Defender 130 to support operations in the UK. Land Rover engineers will work with representatives from the charity, of which Her Majesty The Queen is a patron, to adapt the Defender 130 before it goes into service later this year.
Land Rover has supported the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) since 1954 and is proud to maintain its relationship with the world’s largest humanitarian organization. Experts at the IFRC’s global fleet base in Dubai took part in Defender’s global testing program ahead of its world premiere in 2019.
“New Defender 130 brings a new dimension of capability to our most durable and rugged family of vehicles,” said Nick Collins, Executive Director, Vehicle Programs, Land Rover. “Its spacious interior welcomes and transports up to eight people in supreme comfort, enabling unparalleled sophisticated adventuring opportunities for families, with unique design signatures to create a distinct New Defender experience.”
Defender 130 has its own color palette, with a new, exclusive Sedona Red option ensuring the 130 stands out in the line-up. The exterior is complemented by the Extended Bright Pack – available in addition to the existing Bright Pack – which provides a distinct exterior design with Ceres Silver Satin finish around all lower body cladding and front and rear skid plates in Noble Chrome.
Inside, thoughtful storage and convenience solutions are provided for every passenger across all three rows of seating. This ensures Defender 130 caters for passengers in every seat, with effortless access to the spacious three-abreast third row in a bright and airy cabin.
The interior design features new color and material options, providing an amplified all-terrain experience. The latest connected technologies and chassis systems – including a new, larger 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen, standard Electronic Air Suspension and Cabin Air Purification Plus – provide the ultimate support and comfort for modern off-road excursions.
The New Defender 130 is available in S, SE, X-Dynamic SE, and X specifications, in addition to a First Edition. The First Edition is available in three combinations carefully curated by the designers, each one featuring a distinct color and design theme:
Fuji White with Extended Bright Pack with Light Oyster Full Windsor Leather interior and Natural Light Oak Veneer
Sedona Red with Ebony Full Windsor Leather seats and Smoked Oak Veneer
Carpathian Grey with Vintage Tan Full Windsor Leather and Rough-Cut Walnut Veneer
The First Edition model offers an extensive equipment list including heated second and third-row seating, four-zone climate control, Meridian™ Sound System, Driver Assist Pack and Privacy Glass. All feature 20-inch alloy wheels as standard, with P400 gas Ingenium six-cylinder powertrain.
Exterior design
Defender’s iconic silhouette has been elegantly extended by 13.38 inches at the rear to provide enhanced interior space across all three rows, without compromising its unparalleled all-terrain capabilities.
With an unmistakable family resemblance, the Defender 130 features an extended rear overhang that provides even greater interior space in the third row of seats and load area.
The elegant profile is enhanced by the all-new Sedona Red exterior color option – exclusive to the Defender 130 and adding even greater depth and sophistication to the design, while all models are fitted with a panoramic sunroof as standard, with a second sunroof above the third row also featuring on all Defender 130 vehicles.
To maintain the distinctive rear design of the Defender, Land Rover engineers have crafted a subtle boat tail-style uplift that also maximizes the unparalleled all-terrain capability customers expect from a Defender, providing a departure angle of 28.5 degrees. The surrounds for the rear LED lighting units have been re-engineered to maintain the three distinct lines that define Defender’s side profile as they rise subtly towards the rear.
Access to the spacious cargo area is unchanged, while a body-color hard-shell cover for the spare wheel is available, reflecting Defender 130’s positioning at the pinnacle of the Defender line-up. Narvik Black roof rails are fitted as standard, while Defender’s full range of exterior accessories – including the Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban packs – are also available.
The refined proportions of the 130 are enhanced by the optional Extended Bright Pack. In this specification, all lower body panels are finished in Ceres Silver Satin, providing a distinctive finish on vehicles finished in Hakuba Silver, Fuji White and Yulong White. Ceres Silver detailing can be found on the hood louvres and side fenders of all Defender 130 models, perfectly complemented by 20-inch Luna alloy wheels, which are available in a Bright Silver finish.
The exterior finish is an extension to the Bright Pack, which features front and rear skid plates in Noble Chrome, complemented by Gloss Black lower bumpers and wheelarch extensions. The two options give Defender 130 customers a choice of distinctive and sophisticated exterior finishes.
Spacious interior
For Defender 130, Land Rover is introducing enhanced color and material options for customers looking for an even more refined experience, effortlessly balanced with the tough, rugged character and more interior space than ever.
Land Rover engineers have created an impressive interior space by effectively shrink-wrapping interior packaging components around the body-in-white, maximizing the amount of usable interior space, without the need for a large on-road footprint.
The elegantly extended rear creates uncompromised accommodation in the third row, with enough width to provide comfortable seating for three adults, while the Defender’s familiar outline ensures generous headroom in all three rows. Western weapons in Ukraine. Who is it useful for?
Tumblr media
NATO countries are increasingly afraid of the Russian military receiving secret technologies in connection with the supply of advanced Western weapons to Ukraine. This opinion is beginning to prevail as the stocks of Soviet-era weapons used in combat by the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) are being depleted, and Ukrainian leaders are requesting weapons with greater range and combat power from NATO. In modern warfare, technological spoils regularly change hands, so the risk of capturing advanced types of weapons begins to have a stronger impact on decisions about their transfer to Ukraine. Any captured weapon that includes search and homing components, as well as encryption algorithms, can give the Russian forces a key to understanding how it works and, possibly, how to defend against it. The loss of advanced shorter-range weapons, such as the British Brimstone anti-ship missile, equipped with onboard target recognition technology, is worrisome, according to officials. Therefore, the West continues to ignore the regular statements of the Ukrainian ruling circles about the need to provide the Armed Forces with the latest heavy weapons systems. In addition, European countries supply outdated samples of military equipment to Ukraine because they fear the loss of sensitive technologies or their transfer by Kiev to third countries. Thus, the UK will provide the APU with a batch of 105-mm L118 howitzers, which were developed and produced in the 70s of the XX century. At the same time, the United States decided not to sell the MQ-1C Gray Eagle reconnaissance drones to the Ukrainian authorities. The fears of Western countries about the possible resale by Kiev of NATO samples of military equipment to third countries and terrorist organizations on the black market of weapons are not unfounded. Corruption schemes in the law of Ukraine have for many years made it possible to resell "military goods" coming from everywhere (according to the statement of the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, D.Kuleba, 22 countries provide military support to Ukraine). And everything is sold mainly to the countries of Africa and the Middle East. In this case, Ukrainians themselves are left with only a small part of what is called "European support". In the "darknet" (the shadow segment of the global network), real "black markets" are already in full swing for the sale of not only pistols and submachine guns, but also portable missile systems that terrorists are willing to buy (American Javelin complexes are sold for only 30 thousand dollars). "At the end of the war, there will be even more weapons on the black market than in the former Yugoslavia. And even more powerful. New and technological. It will definitely arrive on our territory," Italian Prosecutor General Nicola Gratteri said. The reason is obvious – incoming equipment and weapons are simply sold out. They steal from privates to generals. Enough videos have already been posted of the transfer of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine even to the Donbass militia. For an armored personnel carrier in good condition, a Ukrainian asks for only $ 1,000. Armored Land Rovers, which Britain provided for the APU, immediately appeared on the announcement portal at a price of 54 thousand euros. Ukraine has become a real "black hole" for the West – one of the largest "grey weapons" markets in Europe was formed there back in the 90s. Now it has become not a market, but a "hypermarket". Even the head of Interpol, Jurgen Stock, called for a thorough inspection of arms supplies to Kiev. The West is again "stepping on the same rake." Similarly, weapons were supplied to Yugoslavia and Afghanistan almost uncontrollably. And then it ended up in the hands of criminals and terrorists all over the world. However, this situation seems to suit the Western leadership, as it allows NATO countries to get rid of outdated weapons. While the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and mercenaries continue to die waiting for the delivery of serviceable weapons and ammunition, the arms trade proves the title of the most profitable business.
