I hate how voltron writers completely discarded the fact that Lance was the only one who actually wanted to pilot voltron, being a pilot was his DREAM

when they joined voltron shiro just felt obligated to save the world, pidge wanted to leave, Hunk was just an engineer, and Keith was a dropout, but Lance worked so hard to be a pilot he WANTED to be one,

and the writers decided that it would make sense for him to completely drop that dream to be a farmer because he "matured"???? GRAHHH

1. Which of your fics would you keep the basic plot of but rewrite completely?

I half-assed a Klance fanfic called “Friday Night Lights” that was about Keith and Lance being MVPs of rival football teams. Then Keith started a job at Lance’s uncle’s garage and they “bonded.” It had a pretty sick plot but like I said, TOTALLY half-assed it. Here’s an excerpt if you like—

Keith sees it all happen. He’s running, but he loses focus on where, because all he sees is a linebacker, a Panther, slam into an Alligator, number 36, so hard it sends the boy’s body flying into the dirt.

It’s Lance.

And he’s not getting up.

Keith’s heart stops. It sounds like he’s underwater, the cheering starts to quit, everything is painfully slow, and Lance’s body is so limp. It’s so still. Cheerleaders are taking a knee, a whistle is being blown.

The football drops from his hands.

He watches coaches and friends run to Lance’s side. He sees a redshirt running out.

Lance is so, so still.

There’s blood.

He’s wearing a helmet, how can there be blood? Keith’s eyes flick to Rosa, who’s taking the steps by two to get on the field with her son. He sees Shiro and Adam standing, Adam gripping Shiro’s arm tightly, Shiro staring at Keith intently.

There’s a gurney, an ambulance, a siren so loud Keith knows it’s hurting his ears, but it feels like he can barely hear it. He’s watching Lance be wheeled toward it, hearing his coach yell for them, but he doesn’t move.

Shiro’s yelling.

What is-

“Keith, you fucking dumbass, go with him!”
