Captain Artemis’s trusty companion, Lalune the Caterpillar Cadet! It was basically a race to see which WIP between the two that I’d finish first at this point, and Lalune ultimately won out because his design is simpler overall lol

I have a lot of “little guys” among my roster of characters and he makes for a very cute addition, I love him :’D It has also been far too long since I did a creature design like his Full Moon form so that feels like a return to something I’ve loved for a long time. I do want to make a creature design section for my website, so it’s good to have something recent to add!

Basically the Kero equivalent for all of you fellow CCS fans out there, though I usually can’t resist drawing animal companions for my characters anyway haha There’s a bit more I want to put on the final sheet, including his big beastie battle form, but I’ve had this in the works for a while and I wanted to show you the baby so far :’D You may have noticed that I finished up the logo now too, go check it out here on my main art blog if you like :)

Our hors d’oeuvres (appetisers) at @lalunefremantle featuring: - TOMATO TARTLET, petit pois cream $7pp - POTATO ROSTI, smoked salmon roe, cultured cream $22 - VOL-AU VENT OF SWIMMER CRAB, celery remoulade $7pp - FOIE GRAS PARFAIT with brioche, cherries $22 - Cocktail: Rhubi rhubi: ROF vodka; rhubi, passionfruit, lemon, sugar $22 Beautiful starters to commence our dinner. Everything was delicious, especially love the potato rosti, crab with flakey puff pastry case and foie gras parfait. The potato rosti reminded me of Maccas’ hash browns and I’m inspired to recreate this boujee dish at home with hash browns. 😆 Love how gherkins were included with the parfait to take away the greasiness and how perfectly it was paired with cherries. Cocktail was refreshing with passionfruit. Really impressed with this first visit to La Lune and one of my more memorable meals of 2022. Had this at near completion before I finished my commission, but then spent a lot of time fiddling with the little stuff as usual xD This is for Lalune, Captain Artemis’s trusty companion! I don’t typically make logos for individual characters (though now I am very tempted to do more), but I came up with the idea for this one while making his design sheet, so why not right? Making the logo for something prior to the thing itself being finished is a rather common occurrence with my work xD The designs will follow soon, I promise! <3

Our mains at @lalunefremantle featuring: - POISSON DU JOUR (fish of the day was rainbow trout) $28 - DUCK BREAST: bitter leaf lentils, pancetta, red currants $38 - MOULES FRITES (mussels and frites) w/ sauce marinieres (white wine sauce) $26 Dish of the night was the rainbow trout which was cooked perfectly. Duck breast was pink and tender. The addition of red currants provided some sweetness and tang to the duck which was nice. The white wine sauce of the mussels was creamy and tangy - the traditional recipe for this includes garlic, shallots, butter, parsley and white wine. Enjoyable hors d’oeuvres (will be on a separate post: especially love the potato rosti) and delicious dinner with great service.
