i'm not tackling your whole post, because it's hard for me to read most of it for one reason or another and i might have interpreted something wrong. however, i can address some things at least about the design.

while they have been just as vocal as anyone else about the lore being a problem, people with bloodlines to the indigenous people of central america are praising the art, seeing the design similarities between the auraboros and quetzalcoatl, and enjoying it. they're not seeing a war bonnet, they're seeing their ancestral artworks given modern life and saying that it's what their ancestors depicted. the headcrest, whether you see it or not, is not depicting a war bonnet. there's also lakotan people who don't see their war bonnets in the artwork. if you're going to hold others to the standard of not mashing two different cultures together, you need to hold yourself to it, too.

the lore sucked, and a bigger chunk of users were saying it sucked compared to the population of those who were rationalizing it. it NEEDED rework, i will side with that, especially since it came out around the worst possible time ever. their artificial limitations and being afraid to retcon their stories out of fear of writing themselves into a corner is no reason to leave out critical detail or write more to flesh things out in a way that doesn't hurt or disrespect others. they should also probably refrain in the future from putting out major updates around times of the year they know that their staff will be on holiday and can't properly hang around to resolve situations that arise in the coming week.

if there's mesoamerican individuals who DON'T like the design, i haven't seen them, and i would i like to hear from them also about whether or not it's appropriation since their culture is at stake of being potentially combined with someone else's. they should also feel safe to speak up.

Watched: at the cinema on November 9th

Reaction: ± The film itself was lovely, a delightful showcase of culture and badassery. Though from my first viewing, it felt kind of oddly paced. More like the whole movie was set up and just bridging the gap from the previous phases to the next, introducing new settings and characters with not as much catharsis or resolution to the self-contained story. We'll see upon the second viewing i suppose. It just felt like a lot of violence for not very much payoff. Although i suppose even real life can be like that.

I do however love the details. The languiages, the distinctness of the subtitles, the cultures. And how effortlessly highlighted the strength of the women in Wakanda are --less in your face than that awesome moment in Endgame. The repetition of "Wakanda Forever" here though just further highlights how weak it is as a repeated battlecry. It was fine the once but it's especially kinda meh in the face of "Rise, Lakotan". I still love the hand motions of both though.

Memorable aspect of the movie: + That Marvel Studios logo. Boy, i teared up just from that. A lovely memorial for both Chadwich Boseman and T'Challa. + Design. Costume, set, concept, lighting. + The mid-credits scene. <3
