That Was Your First Kiss? | Kyuhyun

Summary: You get extremely insecure and *slightly* jealous over Kyuhyun's kiss scene in his musical.

You sat in your seat in the auditorium as the curtains close sharply upon the exit of the two main leads of the musical. You felt a little sour watching your boyfriend kiss another woman. Though, it wasn't like he didn't already warn you about it. He didn't do it in secret, AND he invited you to one of the best seats of the musical for you to see it. Maybe he shouldn't have. That kiss looked too long, and too deep.

Amidst the standing ovation, you couldn't help but sulk and clap only softly. You wanted to show your support for Kyuhyun since it was his first musical in two years, but you just couldn't bring yourself to do it after what you'd just watched.

The rest of the audience began shuffling away from their seats to the exit as you continued sitting at the same spot, replaying the scenes in your head. Actually, they kissed not once, but twice. And he would have to do this for the next three shows too. You finally sighed - quite loudly, gaining a few head turns - and started to walk to the exit yourself.

"I wasn't expecting a kiss." a guy a few feet from you spoke to his girlfriend.

"Right? What a good first show", a girl beside him replied. "Hehe", she reaches to kiss him as they giggled and walked away.

Great, more reasons for you to feel even more uncomfortable than you already were. Why haven't you and Kyuhyun had your first kiss yet? Were you not pretty or attractive enough?

You began walking backstage where the main cast would be doing their post-show photoshoot - as you had been invited by your boyfriend.

You met Hyukjae and Kyu's sister, who also came to see the show at the entrance and greeted them. As you entered the room, Kyuhyun and the actress, Hye-jin, were already taking pictures. They stood close, but he wasn't touching her. You looked at the two of them closely and more thoughts ran through your head.

They do look good together. I guess that's why they were casted and put together in the show. Maybe I should be a musical actress too. Don't think I can sing as well or look good in those clothes though. ... Oh, here comes Kyu. "Hey, love." Kyuhyun walks over to you and wraps his arm around your waist. You stood closed to him and smiled palely. "Hey." You replied.

"How was it? Did you like it?" He asks as Hye-jin looks over at you and smiles, she nods briefly before walking towards a couch at the other end of the room... some of the photographers following her, while others continued chatting.

"Good." You lied. To be clear, the rest of the musical was amazing. The voices, the storyline, the directing, the costumes and down to the props - but the same two kiss scenes just played in your mind like a broken record, so broken you didn't know if they would ever stop.

"Hmm... I'm not convinced..." Kyu squints at you, bringing his face close to yours, inspecting you jokingly, before looking away again and pulling you closer into his arms. You rested your head against his chest and your hands grasped his clothes tightly because you were feeling insecure, also trying not to care that the rest of the press were still in the room.

Your relationship had already been made public a few months ago, so being seen wasn't an issue. Or that was what you thought at the moment.

With a mix of emotions, anger, jealousy and excitement, you quickly decided to give Kyuhyun a quick kiss on his cheek. That's when he pushed your kiss away sharply.

"Hey. People are looking." He says, slightly harshly and with a very light frown.

And, to you, those words felt like daggers. You were in a moment of vulnerability and insecurity, so that was kind of a response you didn't want to receive. You were already beginning to hold back your tears, though Kyuhyun still held on to your arm lightly.

"Kyuhyun! It's time for the interview." A producer announces from the other side of the room.

Kyuhyun tugs on your arm, though you were definitely zoned out. "Hey, let's go."

"No, you go." You said. You could barely show a smile while holding yourself from bursting into tears at the moment. You were supposed to join the dinner with the main cast and producers of the musical after tonight's first show, but, not in this state...

"Mmm... you promised." Kyuhyun pouts slightly, not knowing how much your heart already began to hurt.

You gave him the widest smile you could muster and pushed him towards other side quickly, where the rest of the cast were waiting.

"I'll text you later, soon." Kyuhyun says briefly before running into the room where everyone had also entered, and you were left alone all of a sudden.

You had been dating for just a little bit over half a year, and you both loved cuddles, so you hugged each other a lot, but you never had your first kiss. To be frank, it wasn't even just between you and Kyuhyun. You haven't had your first kiss... ever.

You slumped onto the couch and started to cry softly, covering your face in case anyone else was still left in the room. You honestly didn't cry easily. But every time it came to something related to Kyu, you would become a bit more sensitive than usual. You let your emotions overcome you for what felt like a few minutes until you felt someone sit down next to you. Quickly, you let the fabric of your shirt absorb your tears, before looking up at the person. It was Hyukjae.

"Are you okay?" He asks, as Kyuhyun's sister, Kyujin, also sits down next to the both of you.

"Yeah." You answered, while holding back a few sobs, still feeling the emotions stuck in your throat. At this point, you could just curl up into a ball and cry for the next 23 hours or so.

"You don't look OK." Hyukjae continues.

"Sorry... I saw what happened." Kyujin explains. "Do you want us to call Kyu?"

"No! No... It's fine. " You quickly rejected the idea of confronting Kyu at all. "Confront" wasn't even the right word to use since he didn't do anything gravely wrong. You were just sensitive and he just didn't want you to kiss him in public, that was all. But you couldn't help but feel feelings. You tell yourself it's just the accumulation of the events today, and that it isn't a big deal. Furthermore, you really didn't want to bother Kyu on a big night.

Your tears continued to fall again as a wave of insecurity washed over you. You couldn't stand it, and you wanted to be alone, but Kyujin gave you a pat on the back to try to console you. She gestures for Hyuk to leave the two of you alone.

"How do you feel?" she asks.

Maybe it was because both of you were girls, but for some reason, you felt a little safer talking to Kyujin only.

"Embarrassed." you replied quickly, tears still falling. "I don't know why, but it hurt a lot seeing him kiss someone else. I know it's dumb to think that way... and I already expected this in deciding to date a celebrity... a musical actor... but seeing it with my own eyes and experiencing the emotions myself is more painful than I had expected." You blurted out unexpectedly.

"Mm..." Kyujin listened patiently and hummed as you continued telling her how you felt, all this while with her hand still patting your back as you cried. "I haven't been in the same situation as you but, your feelings seem completely valid. I mean, I would be enraged too if I saw my husband kiss someone else." She explained. "... so you're not overreacting, if that's how you feel."

You nodded, surprised at her bluntness and ability to read your mind. You started drying your tears on your shirt as her consoling seemed to help. "Furthermore. Kyu shouldn't have reacted like that. That was what I saw. But I don't think he meant it." she says, referring to you kissing Kyuhyun.

"I know, I shouldn't have done it. I was just jealous. And it was in the moment. I didn't think much. Didn't think of the people around us who could've been looking." You admitted, still sniffling a little.

The both of you stayed silent for a few minutes.

"Well, I should get going soon. But you should talk to Kyu when you're ready. You really don't want us to call him?" She asks.

"It's okay, I think I can handle..." You lied, wanting to sort your thoughts out alone.

"Mm. Give me a text if you need me."

"Thanks a lot, eonni." you said, as she flashes a quick smile before standing up to head to the carpark.

You walked out of the room, intending to say goodbye to Hyukjae too, but he seemed to have already left. You shrugged and left the building towards a nearby convenience store next to the river. ---

The chime of the glass door tinkles as you entered the store and you nodded as the cashier greeted you.

It was half past ten at night, but you could use some coffee and a Crunky cookies and cream chocolate bar. Those were some things which would cheer you up and give you some energy on nights like these. You heard notifications come from your phone, but you conveniently muted them - not quite ready to talk to anyone yet. You figured Kyuhyun was at the cast dinner anyway, so it couldn't have been him.

With your small bag of snacks, you strolled towards one of the park benches with a view of the Han River, while sipping on your warm latte. The view was splendid.

One of the reasons why you loved Seoul so much was because of it's night city view. You stared at the lights for what felt like hours, with the warm sound of a guitar being played by a busker far in the background. You zoned out, breathing in the cool air of the river breeze blowing across your face.

The lights started to fade and defocus as tears gathered in your eyes. You felt a tug at your heart and you didn't even realise you were crying until a tear rolled down your cheek onto your lips. You couldn't tell if you felt like this because of how beautiful the view was or if you still hurt a lot inside. But you didn't stop yourself - no one could see your face anyway.

Suddenly, you hear your phone vibrate. As you checked, you let your tears fall on your screen which had lit up. It was Hyukjae. You briefly wiped away your tears and braced yourself to answer.

"Hello?" you answered slowly and softly, still a little choked up.

"Where are you?" he asks.

"I-... I'm at the park by the river. Why?" You said reluctantly.

"I told you I knew that was her!" you hear another voice speak, muffled and away from the phone, which made you flinch.

"You're the worst. You claim to know and you're still asking me to call her for you?" Hyukjae replies.

"She wasn't replying to my texts, I didn't think she would answer my call, hyung..." At this point, you recognised the other voice to be Kyuhyun.

"You're really the worst boyfriend. Really. Really. How can you not recognise-" Hyukjae spits.

"Tsk, it's dark- Hyung, I feel horrible enough, okay?"

"If it weren't for me, you wouldn't even have known she was upset. You, you're just... the worst" Hyukjae repeats. "Just get over there and sort it out. Quickly before you make any more mistakes or she's gonna end things with you like you said."

At this point, you felt like you were just eavesdropping on a quarrelling couple.

You heard the two men grumble a little more, before noticing the voices becoming louder and closer, and they weren't coming from your phone anymore. You looked behind, where the voices came from, surprised as Hyukjae pushed Kyuhyun towards you.

You muttered a soft "Shit." before hiding your face as Hyukjae walks away from the scene, wanting nothing more to do with this.

Kyuhyun sits down beside you in silence, almost crushing your bag of snacks before he moves them aside.

"Hey."

"Hey." You replied, still looking down.

"Love..." he calls... And calls again, not hearing a response from you. "Baby, look at me. Please." He sounded firm, yet not wanting to hurt you again.

He picks you up from your slouch and holds you up by your arms, and lightly twists you toward his direction. He holds you up for a few seconds before your head slumps onto his chest, still looking down and feeling defeated.

He rests his chin on your shoulder and very carefully pulls you into a hug. As you begin to feel the warmth tucked in his chest, you started to tear up again. This time, all the emotions hit you hard.

"I'm sorry." Kyuhyun finally breathes. "I didn't know how to react earlier." You listened, staying in your position, saying nothing. You felt him shift, trying to peek at your expression. "I didn't mean it, you know...?" he continues, "And I panicked, when you did that." You heard his voice choke a little.

"So I pushed you away." He admits.

You continued staying hidden in his chest for a while longer.

"Because I was flustered" he hesitates, "... by your sudden kiss." He specifies, not knowing what else to say.

Whilst still buried in his chest, you mutter "Why are you here?" Tears still falling, he holds you up and looks at you in your eyes.

"What?" he answers as he instinctively pushes your tears away from your cheeks with the back of his palm softly.

"You're supposed to be working." you explained.

"That's not important." he claims.

"But it's work."

"You're crying." You look away as he says this. "How am I supposed to leave you alone like this?"

"But it's work." you repeated.

"It's not important." He assures you. There was a brief moment of silence.

"But it's wor-" you were unable to finish your sentence, as Kyuhyun crashed his lips onto yours to keep you quiet. Your grip on him tightened, surprised at his sudden actions.

Your first kiss was deep, as you kept your eyes opened, still unable to comprehend what was happening. His eyes were closed as he deepens the kiss even more than you could imagine. After you were a bit more comfortable, you closed your eyes to savour the kiss too - though your heart was beating so fast you thought it was about to explode.

Kyuhyun pulls away softly and catches his breath, before giving you a last kiss as he disconnects your lips with a loud smooch. You stared at him blankly and blinked quickly, looking away as you fell silent. Your eyes widened and you looked back at him with a slight frown, muttering a deadpan "Ew".

"What?" Kyuhyun sputters. "Excuse me?"

"Those lips of yours. You kissed her with those lips." You said, staring as if with fear in your eyes.

"I- what? Are you jealous? Were you jealous?" He asks, as a pout began to form on your lips without your knowing as you avoided eye contact again. "Is my baby jealous?" he coos, looking at you, quickly realising why you had kissed him earlier.

A small tear of embarrassment came out of your left eye again and Kyuhyun, who quickly spots this, pulls you into a tight hug. "I love you." he says, and you fell silent hearing those words come out from his mouth. "And I'm sorry I made you feel like this." His voice turned a bit serious.

You pulled away. "But you ruined my first kiss by kissing me on the same night you kissed another girl." you said, teasingly but also seriously at the same time.

"Okay. Then that one doesn't count." he says quickly. He looks to his watch and wipes his lips with the back of his wrist. "It's 15 minutes to 12am. Let's just wait until it is the next day and I'll kiss you again." He takes his thumb and wipes away at your lips too, erasing your first kiss.

You couldn't help but scoff at his reaction.

"Do you feel better now?" he asks, and you nodded. "And that was your first kiss? You never told me."

You nodded again. "I love you too, by the way" you said in response, suddenly remembering his words from before.

He smiled widely for a moment, with his nose all scrunched up at how cute you were, staring at you as if he was admiring you like an artwork. "You look even prettier after you've been kissed."

"Only after?" You lifted a brow.

"No, all the time, but you look the prettiest after you've been kissed," he boasts, "by me of course."

"That's unfair. Why do you get to kiss everyone?" you complained with a sigh.

He looks at his watch again all smug and impatiently. "12 minutes."

You rolled your eyes, looked back at the view and smiled. "How did you know I was here anyway?"

"I know you better than you think, love." He chuckles as he fishes out the chocolate bar from the bag of things you had bought earlier. He opens the packaging and stuffs it to your mouth, before taking a bite of it himself.

"Hey! That's mine!" you whined.

"So am I." he winks before getting up and running away with your chocolate bar, having you chasing behind him. "I still can't believe I was your first kiss!" he shouts, lifting the chocolate bar up high so you couldn't reach it.

"Shut up, Cho Kyuhyun! You said it doesn't count!" You already knew that unlimited kisses would be coming your way for the rest of your life. --- :)

Anon as someone who works I agree most times ppl who work with you are just colleagues but you do build friendships on the way too. I've had colleagues help me financially (giving me loans when I needed it) to help me find someone to take over my responsibilities for 2 months when I needed holidays the most a few years back. There are a few ppl I would never be alone with but Ive also built friendships that have lasted me to this day even if they left the place I work at.

Most SM idols are very close, they all meet outside work and even years after they worked together unlike others. SES and also girls generation still meet (other than Jessica though). Same with tvxq we have pics of yunho and jaejoong chatting and sitting with eo parents and family. 127 are a male group so believe me when they're angry at someone they fight and resolve it, unlike women who have been programmed to be competitive with other women and so never even get along well with their sisters. Women compete for attention, snsd talked about this very well in the beginning of their career.

As for 127 you could clearly see the cracks in the band or the groups very clearly a few years back. It's still there but it has become alot better since 2022... Either they all talked out what each members wants to do or members have accepted that changes will be happening.

As for taeyong and doyoung, doyoung built this friendship. Doyoung used to get irritated with tae and even talked to his manager about it but ultimately they learned to live and become very good friends through it. Dotae are so similar to my fav ship from shinee minkey, to this day they keep arguing and fighting but they also do everything together.

We build most of our relationships both platonic and romantic and dotae is very much built on mutual respect and love so it's not fake at all, Doyoung smiles fake but never cries fake, he hates being emotional so why would he cry for the fans.

Dowoo, johndo, johnwoo even johnjae are very much collgues... Just look at BTS videos and who are usually sitting together... But they're good enough colleagues to be good work friends

Yes sometimes over the top ships are fake, like markhyuck but markhyuck are very close and depend emotionally and spiritually for strength to continue with their work in 2 bands. Mark kept haechan active last year but ultimately I've a feeling 127 hyungs asked haechan to just take a break so he sat out of the tour. Same with ppl not realising that haechan is very close to jisung and jeno... He closest to them along with renjun

Random but renjun is the very social and I as a NCT fan never realised it, the boy has friends who are 10 or more years older than him in SM. He's making good relationships as he gets older. From what I've seen his friendships are close enough for him to make fun of a hyung who is 9 years older to him

Also as groups grow older most groups stop selling we're family, shinee and 127 never sold the idea of good family or siblings. They are very open about being colleagues who got together but both these bands have very strong bonds... Super junior always talk about them only doing stuff for the camera but their families go on vacations together. The Siblings of the members are on friendly terms and so are the parents... The boys even live together still (at least eunhyuk and kyuhyun lived together in a flat a few years back)

As for 127 crying, army changes alot of things... Eunhyuk was the most funny member and the member with the most work but after army he hasn't found a permanent gig that's popular. Same with suju being limited to their own fandom. Shinee got a boost of new fans thanks to superm but most have left or prefer being taeminnie fans

Taeyong isn't a singer, he is the visual and the face of 127. He might be worried that fans would be bored and leave the fandom. It's tough waiting for 3 or 4 years for the band to be back together

It took shinee almost 4 years and believe me it was tough although we got so many solo albums in between this army period but the band together is more fun and the reason most ppl are in the fandom.

I get why taeyong cried and I get why doyoung supported him... Also you have to realise not everyone can cope with army. Taemin had to leave in the middle of his service coz of his mental health deteriorating too much. He did his last year as a public service person, it must be tough thinking of the future where you're expected to follow rules and regulations harsher than even idol industry. Btw fans have left fandoms in the army period alot of times... Even if youre in the fandom sometimes you stop following everything and not know half the fandom jokes or fights (me with shinee fandom atm)

I prefer to buy 127 albums instead of shinee ones now, I still don't have physical copies of key solos, And he's my ultimate fav K-pop singer

P.S. as a teacher I can tell you anon that all work places are fake, I also smile and small talk with ppl I won't trust.

Idol industry is normal life but on steroids, all these things happen in real life too, but most times you don't realise it until you're in the job.

A workplace is a place to meet people. Whether those people become friends or not depends on your personal compatibility and events that help you to know each other better. Like when I work in the field I live in the same room with others, we see each other in underwear, cook for each other and go into the night to spend hours in a dark forest. In such conditions people with suitable characters naturally become close quickly (and the opposite happens with difficult people as there is no room to breath, no personal space really). On the other hand, working at a cafe or a store offers very little to help bonding. Everyone is tired, pissed at managers and hate their job.

The anon's reasoning is correct for many idol groups, it doesn't mean it applies to each one of them. Also, I myself think that families are often less close than good friends, that they are kept together by blood, tradition and responsibilities. Thus I find comparing a band to a family very fitting actually. As one can't choose relatives, one can't choose bandmates (in most cases, sometimes older A-list trainees invite their friends into the agency and then debut together).

Suju’s to order their meal, then they started to ask eo who will pay for it. Leeteuk said, it should be heechul 🤣 (shh that’s my crumbs right there 🤣) then they said, it should be the dorm mates, kyuhyun and eunhyuk. But then, they just suggested they’d play for it so leeteuk initiated a “rock paper scissors” game. Everyone’s reflexes were so fast, but only yesung did not participate. So they all went on yesung to pay for the meal, but YS insisted he won’t be eating so he won’t join. Then Shindong said, to play another game Leeteuk initiated a new game, where they’d stand up sayinng number 1-nth number. LT HC SW participated then YS slowly did too, so everyone was like “eyy i thought you wouldn’t it. Then shindong came up wt another game, the one with the chicken, where they placed all their phones

on the table, whoever the chicken goes with will have to pay for their meal. At first it was going towards eunhyuk’s phone, so EH was really nervous, but the chix went to ryeowook’s phone! 🤣

So, RW said, he’ll eat a lot, all of em. The food arrived,

leeteuk thanked rw for the food ~ Then, there’s yesung happily eating 🤣

(I’m like, ‘I TOT U SAID U WONT EAT?!’ HAHAHAHAAH)

There are 2 questions that yesung was picked by the members, twice 🤣 One of which was if you have a younger sister, who in super junior members would you never introduce..

Siwon said, yesung 😭🤣 So yesung shocked and said, “I don’t want (to meet her) too!! I hate it more!” 🤣

Doing this for the Kmusical Frankenstein pt 2: tumblr deleted the original electric boogaloo

gonna say why I did/didn't circle certain things under cut if people are interested

This is gonna be in whatever order I think is most fun :3c

The names of characters have been changed because of reasons -> Victor is still Victor Frankenstein, but Henry is Henry Dupre and Elizabeth is Julia. Victor also has a sister named Ellen and a butler named Runge, and Julia's father is named Stephan. Also Julia's family is the one who takes in Victor.

Set in the Victorian or Regency era instead of late 1700s -> it's set in 1815 during and post the Napoleonic Wars

Victor is a doctor -> Well, we don't know exactly, but he is the head of R&D in the military, so presumably?

Adam is not brought to life in a college dorm room -> He's brought to life in Victor's family laboratory (Victor's father was a doctor)

Adam has the memories/personality of a person that his body parts came from -> the Creature's head is Henry's (he was beheaded after being accused of murder long story lol also each of the main character actors play 2 roles in the musical it's really fun) and some actors choose to have the Creature remember bits and pieces of his past as Henry.

Adam's movements are neurodivergent coded to make him "scarier" or more "childlike" -> Definitely to make him more "childlike", but as such he ends up "growing out" of it

Adam never mentions or references Paradise Lost -> He might, but if he does it's lost on me since I haven't read it lol. But also he doesn't have any time to read it because instead of living with the DeLacey's, he's captured and forced to fight in an illegal fight ring.

We are expected to actually like Victor and Elizabeth as a couple -> I put this as "???" because I think so, but also Henry and the Creature get in the way of those two's relationship so often, and their relationship hinges on one promise they made as children so idk compared to Henry and Victor's relationship it really doesn't hold any ground LOL

No Walton -> The ending doesn't involve a boat so for all we know maybe Victor did meet a Walton on his way there, but he sure has left him behind by that point.

Victor is buff for some reason -> I put this as "depends" because it depends on which actor is playing Victor lol. You have everything from "Used to be a baseball player but shifted to musical acting post career" Min Woohyuk Victor to "My friends and I call him a flamingo for a reason" Jeon Dongsuk Victor to "Super Junior Idol" Kyuhyun Victor so, every flavor of Victor exists LOL

Some things I didn't circle I want to talk about cause why not

What do you mean Frankenstein had more themes than "don't play god" -> While that's definitely one of the major themes of the musical, there's definitely some themes of "What undiagnosed trauma does to a motherfucker" and "behold the consequences of your actions"

Adam doesn't like fire -> The Creature's big number involves him setting fire to the fight ring that captured him so, I mean, I rather think he likes fire lol

Heterosexual Clerval -> Henry in this is gay, he is so gay, he is unbelievably gay. More people have to listen to "In Your Dreams" and tell me that Henry is so gay for Victor and people have to listen to "Life in a Glass of Liquor" and tell me those two are so gay for each other fr fr

Anyway, while this definitely isn't the best Frankenstein adaptation, it's definitely one of my favorites XD

I just finished watching the trip of Kyuhyun and Eunhyuk with their sisters to Tokyo and I enjoyed it so much... The chemistry they have with their own sisters is so beautiful and deep, they love each other so much and it's noticed so easily. Both siblings shared difficult moments they lived in their life and that hit me so hard because I'm still so young and sometimes I feel hurt that I think that feeling will keep in the time... but looking how they overcome their difficult times with resilience and they allowed themselves to smile and enjoy life again despite the pain is something that still shocked me and touch my young heart. Thank you guys, again. My heart belongs to all of you ❤️‍🩹

this is gonna be the silliest of text posts because i just wanna talk abt single's inferno s2

watched it because my sister wanted to and a coworker rec it to me so like ok watercooler convo

i mean: reality dating shows are manufactured and scripted as hell

and it was p obvious all of the contestants are basically there to promote their own career (except nadine, the harvard premed?? but my sister said this might be her legally blonde moment and she's just trying to get something interesting to talk abt her in college entrance essay)

but what fascinates me the most abt this show is the blatant performance???

like seul-ki, basically the main character of the show, performing femininity to the degree that 3 different men pursue her but none of them clocked that her act, maybe not disingenuous, but something she is tirelessly putting in effort to appear elegant, demure, shy, and lovable? like i'm so sad that she seemed to understand her value as a woman is limited and she will work to meet societal expectations of her because she has been rewarded with attention, affection, and popularity and in her own words "she always gets what she wants".

i am speaking from a place as an outside observer (as we audience do!) but i just wanna shake her shoulders and go "aren't you tired of being nice? don't you just wanna go apeshit?". but! they are in a reality tv show watched by millions. so perform they shall...

and don't let me start on the male macho kayfabe that most of the men are on ... esp jinyoung who wouldn't make his feelings towards seul-ki evident despite knowing from the start who he'd gravitate towards (hate his ass when he revealed his real job - seul-ki dodged a bullet).

and likeeee i know they are a viewers' favorite but sol-e x sejun are sooooo scripted. i mean he can only say one line abt why he liked sol-e like way to give away that he has been fed it by the writers. i do like the performance of their little romance tho. i'm a fool for down-on-their-luck girlies being spoiled silly what can i say!

i do enjoy sejun's addition to the show tho. that man has been told by the writers to target one girl and he's like 'sure' and slept and ate and had fun. good for them

oh and the fact that se-jung never got to enjoy Paradise makes me wanna kms i've never seen injustice this blatant

final note: i was cackling at kyuhyun's reaction to the joongwoo x seul-ki storyline like he is probably projecting because the man was in his feelings i ctfu 😭

Leeteuk- I believe congratulations are in order. Don’t think I didn’t notice this earlier.

[He shoots her a wink as she giggles and flaunts her hand for him. Leeteuk lets out a low whistle.]

Now that is a diamond.

[The boys rush over to look at the big, shiny diamond that sits on her finger on a gold band. Most of the boys are impressed. Kyuhyun and Donghae are not.]

Sungmin- Did--did she insult us? I feel like she just insulted us.

Shindong- We just had our asses on blast. She’s the least of my worries.

i hate daylight savings.

i keep thinking it's already wednesday which is annoying. anyway i forgot to update in over a week but ive been up to a few things!

last week on wednesday i went to the symphony with ravi! i've only been to the symphony three times in my life, &twice were with ravi. i guess four times if you count the time i saw the symphony free in a park. anyway, we had each gotten an extra ticket so i invited kristen since she lives right nearby &appreciates that kind of art.

i met her at her place &we had dinner + drinks before heading to the symphony hall. it was this violinist's recital so they only seated people in the orchestra, but it was close to full. she was really good! my drink hit me around the end of the first piece, which was kind of a trip. my favorite piece she played was saint-saens' introduction and rondo capriccioso. she played it so intensely some of the hair on her bow broke mid-performance and she just kept on playing. tbh i wish i could play violin so badly. i know it's "never too late to learn" so maybe i will look into lessons after all.

for the weekend i took friday off and went home. i literally loooove taking a day off lmao. i got locked out of my house so i walked nearly 3 miles around the neighborhood until my sister was heading home to let me in. in the evening we took a pottery workshop & i made a cup, an incense tray and some chopsticks holders :] i really hope they survive in the kiln because i would love to see how they turn out with the glazes i picked. that night marty came over literally to marinate kalbi with my brother lmao. it was nice to have company.

on saturday the rest of the boys came over to golf with my brother. i had the day to myself so i literally just played persona, watched kyuhyun's vlogs &evil maknae compilations on youtube, &then when my sister got home we went to the mall + michaels. i was tryna find the jjk figurines at miniso but i think i missed my chance.. i shoulda just bought them when i saw them the other week.. TT-TT buuut, i did get new yarn to crochet a tote bag! i picked purple+orange, and so far it looks really snazzy :]

in the evening the boys made the kalbi &it was soo good. i do feel kinda bad always mooching off the food they make after golf. BUT i did buy some eclairs and a tart from toni's cousin &then shared with them, so maybe i did make a contribution after all. my stomach and heart were full after.

&now this week.. i've been soo thrown off by the stupid time change. it's nice to have more sunlight after work &to be able to take evening walks! but i keep oversleeping and sleeping late. it prob doesn't help that i'm in a funk at the same time. oh well. tbh i think im going to take this friday off too because i can't stand anything right now &being at work drives me nuts. it's supposed to be sunny so maybe i'll go to santa cruz or something to regain my sanity lol. AHHHHHHHH

A B O U T

Niamh Josephine Murphy was born in the small coastal town of Dunfanaghy. Her father, a fisherman, liked to tell people that she could swim before she could crawl, but perhaps that was another of his tall tales. When Niamh was young, her father loved to delight her and her two younger sisters with enthralling stories about fairies, leprechauns, elves, and all manner of ferocious sea monsters. Her mother scolded him for supplying the girls' heads with nonsense, but Niamh loved these stories.

She loved her father's story almost as much as she loved the sea. There was seldom a time in Niamh's life when she wasn't running down the sandy shores of Tramore and Marble Hill, diving into the ocean from the rocky cliffs above, and swimming out so far that her mam would scold her when she returned for supper.

When she wasn't swimming, Niamh was singing. Her voice was enchanting and mesmerizing, and she loved making people happy with her songs. She learned guitar from the neighbor and fiddle from her father. Soon after her thirteenth birthday, she began composing her own lyrics.

Around the same time, Niamh went through a miraculous change. Along with the usual wonders of puberty, she discovered that she was a selkie. Her family was enthused. The legend of the selkie was common in Northern Ireland, and there was, in fact, a relatively thriving population of selkie women in Dunfanaghy. Niamh's mam revealed that Niamh’s great-grandmother was a selkie and gifted Niamh a necklace of hers. It was handmade and comprised of Celtic knots fashioned to look like a wave. From that day forward, Niamh is seldom seen without her great nan's necklace.

When she turned eighteen, Niamh decided to venture out of her small village and attend university in Dublin, where she would study English literature. While at university, she met a foreign student named Kyuhyun Dokgo. She and Kyuhyun hit it off immediately and became a couple in the winter of their freshman year. They dated all through university, and Niamh assumed they would wed. In a bid to become closer to his family, Niamh learned Korean.

Niamh revealed to Kyuhyun that she was a selkie. He took the news well, was fascinated by her powers, and delighted in watching her use her water magic. After graduating, Kyuhyun proposed. Niamh said yes and made a proposal of her own: presenting him with her seal skin in a promise of love and trust. That same day, Kyuhyun disappeared in the middle of the night with her seal skin, leaving behind a note that read: I'm sorry. I need this. I had to go back home.

Niamh was devastated. Though her parents tried to convince her to return home to Dunfanaghy, Niamh knew she would never be happy without her seal skin. In the winter of 2022, Niamh moved to Seoul, Korea, searching for Kyuhyun and her precious seal skin.

She currently works as a barista at a popular downtown cafe and continues to sing.

The sea sings back.

Vanilla Latte? (Chapter 2)

Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 word count: 1.06k You watched through the window as the two men endlessly discuss something, as if you never existed, though you didn't hear them very well. "What do you mean it can't be fixed?" Kyuhyun asks Yoonjae. "It just wouldn't start..." he replies, still genuinely confused that a professional mechanic couldn't fix their vehicle. "So, I took a cab here." Kyuhyun didn't understand why Yoonjae would do that. He could've just told him to take a cab back himself.

You awkwardly take a sip of your already slightly stale, lukewarm coffee, watching stuff unfold outside, as if you were watching a movie. Should you be offering some help? Or would you be adding to the confusion? Could you just continue working on your interview as if nothing was happening? There were too many thoughts in your head and it just would not pick a priority. Right at that moment, Kyuhyun's phone started to ring. "Hey Kyuhyun-ah!" a girl's voice is heard as he picks it up. "Oh, noona. It's not really a good time..." he replies, not liking how eventful the day was becoming. "It's important, Kyu." On the other side of the phone was Kyuhyun's sister, Kyu-jin. "What is it?" he gets a little bit impatient.

"Our car's not working today and the mechanic is still trying to fix it. I really, really need to get the twins to the in-laws so that I can do grocery day today. I can't really handle it without a car. Could I borrow yours for a few hours Kyu?" Kyujin explains. Yet Kyuhyun can't seem to wrap his head around what was just beginning to happen. Was it really a coincidence that both cars had broken down on the same day?

"Ah, noona..." Kyuhyun rubs the back of his neck lightly. "You won't believe this but, our car's out of order too. And Yoonjae- I mean... our manager says even the mechanic we called couldn't revive it."

Yoonjae looked guiltily at Kyuhyun as he spoke on the phone. It was his first week as Kyuhyun's temporary manager. And he was a little bit more timid than you'd prefer a manager to be. His original manager had been on a sabbatical - and was somewhere basking in the sun on the most stereotypical beach island you could think of - when this shit was going down.

There was silence for a moment at the other end of the phone. "Huh." was what Kyujin could only comment. "You sure you're not just giving an excuse to not lend me your car?".

"No, noona. Our usual car is really down. I'll call you back though." You see Kyuhyun hang up and hold up his forehead. This was far too many phone calls in a day for him. You also thought that he had completely forgot about previously talking to you, though you didn't blame him due to the situation he was in. Until he turned to look at you and then signalling for you to look for them outside. "Is everything okay?" you asked out of true concern over your lovely Kyuhyun. "About that job at tvN. I can get you in." Kyuhyun comments subtly yet desperately, not knowing that he could have hurt your feelings, making it sound like you couldn't get in yourself. You stared at him silently, pushing your thoughts out of your mind in the moment. It would seem inappropriate to turn him down right away, though you couldn't figure out what kind of crazy idea was running through his head. "I..." Kyuhyun squints at your expression. "Hello?" He waves his palm gently in front of your face... ... which caused you to finally snap out of your trance. "Oh yeah, uh. Yeah." You continued. "Sorry, what?" "tVn. Job. Me. Get. You. In." Kyuhyun spoke in baby for you to understand. "Okay." You replied, still unable to process what was happening. Was it the stale coffee messing with your head? Was it because it was the time of the day where you usually zoned out? No answers could fill your head. "Just... okay?" Kyuhyun breathes. "You need to help me here." "Okay." You replied again. "..." there was another moment of silence. "Do you want the job or what?" "Okay." Kyuhyun was on the verge of giving up on the conversation until you continued with a "What do I do?". He sighs in relief. "Can you drive?" he asks. "I have a licence but I haven't driven since I passed my test." "Good enough. Do you have time now?" "Yes." As you answered, he hands you a set of car keys and proceeds to scribble a bunch of words using the paper and pen he had asked for from Yoonjae. You'd almost never seen this side of Kyuhyun before. Not on TV, or any other videos you'd seen online. He was plain businessman Kyu. He looked serious and frankly a little cold, but you knew it was because he was going through something. But you couldn't lie that he wasn't attractive. Soon, he passes you a paper with two addresses. After he gave you instructions, you felt like you became a secret agent. "The first address is where you need to get a car from. And the second address is where you need to drive it to." "Okay." you answered, waiting for more instructions, but that was it. "Oh, and the one at the bottom is my number." Kyuhyun said, his tone turning slightly cheeky again, though you almost didn't notice. Because all you could think of was, "What is going on?" ... and then a "Did Cho Kyuhyun just give me his number?". Kyuhyun waved his hands in front of your face again. "You really can drive, right? Don't crash the car. It's expensi- I mean... I don't want you to get hurt." Hearing this, you quickly looked up at him endearingly. "I won't". You said, suddenly assuringly. Kyuhyun flashed you a smile before he turned around and started running hurriedly to flag a cab with Yoonjae. Just as he was entering, he shouted "Oh! Where are my manners?!" He looked back at you again, peeking out from half a cab door. "Name?" You replied, "Juyoung." Kyuhyun waved quickly before entering the cab and slamming the door shut. You watched as it drove away. Now, did he mention what car you were actually supposed to look for?

------- note: I know Kyuhyun has a real older sister and her name's not Kyujin, but I didn't want to use her real name? It feels strange since this fic has mostly fictional characters except the actual celebrities. :-)
