Cartoons from my country, India. We are this. It greatly differs from how foreign animation depicts us. We have a diverse culture and we're seen through a narrow lens. Some of my favourite Indian Cartoons-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Tenali Raman
2. Akbar and Birbal
3. Krishna
4. Pinaki and Happy the bhoot bandhus
5. Roll no. 21
6. Krish Trish and Baltiboy
7. Pupi
8. Simple samosa
9. Chhota Bheem
There's more but these are my top favourite and I love Indian Cartoons .
We have all skin types and colours too but we're all black and brown in foreign animation. There's more to us than snake charming and scary pujas. I hope that it will change one day.

it is weird saying ‘our generation’ considering i am not even an adult yet, but it is insane how different the upbringing of kids my age was as compared to kids that are the same age right now.
i cant fathom not being into board games and comics like panchatantra and champak and what not.
watching thomas and friends, tom and jerry, little krishna, chhota bheem, horrid henry, oggy and the cockroaches, hagemaru, obocchama, mr bean, krish trish and baltiboy (hot ppl cartoon btw), ben 10, roll no. 21, m.a.d the list goes on (i only had access to pogo and cartoon network if u couldnt tell)
also the barbie movies and oh my friend ganesha, tarzan, chain khuli ki main khuli, sonu aur soni, shaktimaan etc etc that used to air sometimes
also i specifically remember waking up early for gali gali sim sim that used to air on sundays at 7 am (pretty early for 6 yr old me) and it was my favorite!
also the pink barbie phones and the color changing pens and the cheap ass wands.
besides, i am sure all of us know what it was like to memorise the no.s of our favorite tv channels!
idk if this is because i have still not come to terms with how fast time moves, but it is whoozy to know how much things change in a decade.
i am not saying we were so much better or something, it is just insane to think about the differences.

I would also tell that on cartoon network a show used to come named Krish trish baltiboy and in that show you can hear a lot of folktales. I think nowadays it is not so popular but you can still watch it on Youtube 😀
