A character design commission I got of Aias in custom dragoon armor from @kohiu !

As always Kan did an absolutely wonderful job - the concept here was Aias merged with/drawing on Ysayle’s power since that’s kinda his whole schtick, burning his own life up to let the dead live again through him. Since he’s merged with Ysayle, there’s a lot of small details pertaining to her (well, specifically Shiva). The most prominent is probably the icicle designs circling around him on various places on the armor matching her ice crown; I love that as Ysayle is his oldest and dearest friend, it’s like she’s embracing him as such 🥺 His thighs being out is sooooo big brained especially since it makes him match Shiva’s leotard design, and the crest on his chest is based on the design on Shiva’s boots!

Due to the merging/housing of souls, Aias’ palette changes to be more cool/blue. Obviously his hair gets longer and changes to Ysayle’s ice blue hair, though he keeps the black gradient on the tips. His skin also shifts from being a purple with red undertones, to a cooler shade of violet. His scales + horns also start looking as if they’re ice sculptures~

I had the absolute pleasure of commissioning @kohiu recently for art of my main WoL, Chaurakh! And given the results, there’s no way I couldn’t share it!!

Chaurakh’s actually the second character I created for FFXIV, but he’s definitely my main by now. I’ve had him for SIX whole years. I’ve got so many details locked in my head for him, and Kan helped bring to life some of the things I see that the game model can’t reflect! Not to mention how delighted I am about the custom fit designed for him, it makes him look so dashing.

Their silhouette was inspired by both regency fashion and just like...... theater costumes with the Takarazuka Revue’s costuming (especially their productions of Romeo and Juliet & Phantom of the Opera) being most prominent. There’s actually a lot of design elements I’m really excited to talk about, but I’ll save that for another post since this is quite long as it is~
