My wish for literally every artist is that they will one day reach a point in their art where despite constantly improving, they don’t cringe at their old stuff anymore

I realized recently that like!! I think I’ve finally hit that zone!!!!! Granted it’s usually only with stuff that’s like 2 and sometimes 3 years old, but!!

Looking at my Kat sprites (the first I ever made in this style) vs Nymira’s (among the most recent) it’s been really wonderful for me to realize that… even though I have CLEARLY grown and drastically developed my style, both still feel like 1) my work and 2) work that I’m proud of

And like!! Idk! I’ve grown so so much as an artist over the past couple years, but I don’t feel embarrassed by the old stuff or like it’s horribly outdated

I’m just really proud to be at a point where my art doesn’t feel like it has an expiration date? There’s obviously stuff I do better now, and things I look at and go “ahh I wouldn’t do it like this anymore” (for example Emarra’s very flat hands in this drawing, compared to a similar pose in his sprites just a couple months later July 2022 -> September 2022)

But I’m still happy with that stuff! And idk it just!!!!! It makes me really really warm to know that I’m at a point where I am legitimately satisfied with my art, new and old.

It’s something I really hope everyone gets a chance to feel
