I saw you love red, white, and royal blue and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president and her secret sapphic relationship/bearded marriage with her mlm best friend. It also includes a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. An entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!
Hi! Wow I've never heard of this book before but it sounds really interesting. I do love alternate timelines as they pose infinite 'what ifs' I might have to check it out! Have you watched the Red White, and Royal Blue movie, yet?
I just finished it and I thought they did a great job with it, but I wish they could've done a series because I need more of Alex and Henry together. Their chemistry was amazing-and one of the reasons I was hooked when I first read the book. Plus, the banter is top tier and I liked how it translated to the screen.

I don't generally read sapphic books because I'm not sure which of them have sex included and which of them don't, and sex involving a vagina makes me uncomfortable in ways I can't really explain other than the current working theory that I have one and don't wanna be involved in those shenanigans, idk
But I can at least give this one a shot if you're comparing it to RWRB, since RWRB is fade to black

It also has a subplot about arson at the White House, a pro-choice subplot with strong Swan Upon Leda energy, and ft. an entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters!

I saw you like Taylor Swift and well-developed, researched, authentic sapphic historical fiction (such as Portrait of a Lady On Fire) and I've just gotta ask you: have you heard of Burn the House Down by Kenna Jenkins? It's an alternate history novel abt the 1st woman president in 1945 and her secret interracial sapphic relationship and her bearded marriage with her mlm best friend/biggest foil. It also has Taylor Swift vibes (especially illicit affairs, gold rush, I Did Something Bad, anti-hero, and last great American Dynasty), a subplot about arson at the White House, ft. an entirely queer main cast and really fleshed out characters, and has a really satisfying ending!

i do love a good well written sapphic story if i do say so myself-
And no I haven't heard of that novel before! Arson at the white house also sounds like a good time (this is a JOKE fbi) and we love an entirely queer cast!! That's how I write my own books lmao
Thank you so much for the rec! I've been devouring books these past couple weeks in summer and I'm always down to hear about more!
