Days old and desperately thin, Baby Malak didn’t even have a name when she was taken to the Emirati Hospital in Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah. Her family was presumed dead, so medics called her “Unknown.” Today, the chubby 6-month-old is the star of the wards where her de-facto guardian, Amal Abu Khatleh, 32, works as a pediatrician. As Abu Khatleh carries Malak — which means angel in Arabic — around the facility, other members of the staff lean in for a kiss and a cuddle. “We had a lot of catastrophic stories because of the war that affected us, but the one that affected me most is Malak’s,” Abu Khatleh told an NBC News crew in Rafah late last month. Other children had their parents with them, she added, but Malak “did not and her name was ‘Unknown.’” Malak was found in a tree near her family’s ruined home in central Gaza, apparently flung into the branches by a strike, which killed the rest of her relatives in November. Shortly after she was taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza for treatment, Dr. Nasser Bolbol, head of the neonatal unit, told NBC News that based on her umbilical cord, he believed Malak was just 2 days old.

Auden’s Col Trek is a high-altitude trek In Uttarakhand
Auden’s Col Trek is one of the famous treks in Indian Himalayas. This trek was discovered by Mr.John Bicknell Auden in 1935, that’s why this trek is known as Auden’s  Col trek.
It connects Rudugaira valley and Bhilangana valley. Auden’s col trek is situated 5490 Meters above sea level. Auden’s  Col is a mountain pass that connects the ridge of Gangotri and Jogin. The last point of this trek is Kedarnath.
Auden”s Col  trek come under Gangotri National park. No doubt, the Himalayas have enchanting beauty, bracing climate, and desirable soothing green meadow. So, what else can be better than spending some days here in the serenity!
Why Auden’s col Trek ?
Auden’s Col, at 5490 m, is a high altitude mountain pass that connects the Rudugaira and Bhilangna valleys. The pass is named after John Bicknell Auden of the Geological Survey of India, who discovered it in 1935 and crossed it in 1939. It connects the ridge from Gangotri III peak on the north-west to the ridge from Jogin I on the east, as well as a glacier from Jogin I on the north side of Rudugaira valley and the dangerous Khatling glacier on the south side of Bhilangna valley.
Auden’s col trek is considered to be one of the difficult treks in the Himalayan region. As the trail ascends with time, the challenges become more and more. We highly recommend for trekkers planning on Auden’s col expedition to only travel with local experts and strongly familiarize themselves with the expected difficulties and challenges.
With explosively difficult challenges comes a victory of abundant rewards; on a clear day, the majestic sight of the Gharwal Himalayas from the trek is one that trekkers will remember for the rest of their lives. The awe-inspiring sights of Gangotri and Bhagirati peaks differentiate this trek from others. Trekkers aiming for many higher peaks of 6000m and above will be able to take all of their experiences from this trek and use them to guide them through their other difficult ascent treks. Also, if desired, one can trek from Gangotri to Kedarnath, two of the holiest Hindu temples, by crossing Auden’s Col and then Mayali Pass.

Some of the trek highlights of Auden’s Col Trek
Auden’s col trek is considered extremely dangerous due to its unpredictability. This trek is only for experienced trekkers who have trekked over difficult terrain such as glaciers and arduous peaks. This trek is a difficult journey through morrains, ice crevasses, landslide prone areas, and sliding grounds.
The trek begins with an easy and manageable terrain from Gangotri Valley to Rudugaira Valley, passing through some landslide zones and thick snow patches. The narrow slopes just before and after the last trail to Auden’s col are a risky walk that should only be attempted with extreme caution and equipment skills. As trekkers descend from the summit, they will have the opportunity to visit the holy site of Kedarnath just before their final stop at Gaurikund.
The bad weather, heavy snowfall, and low visibility along with the challenging terrain are just a few of the issues we concern hikers about. The route acclimatization and the stop days will be added as needed to base on the weather and the condition of the trekkers.

Auden’s Col is a pass connecting Rudugaira valley and Bhilangna valley, named after John Bicknell Auden, a British Geographical Survey officer, who first discovered it in 1935 and crossed it in 1939. The pass is located at 5490m altitude and connects the ridge coming from Gangotri III (6580m) peak on the north-west and the ridge coming from Jogin I (6465m) on the east, and also binds a glacier coming from Jogin I on the north side of Rudugaira valley, and deadly Khatling glacier on the south side of Bhilangna valley. Rudra ganga stream or Rudragairu (gairu means deep) or Rudugaira gad drains Rudugaira glacier and eventually flows into Bhagirathi (Ganga) river near Gangotri, and Bhilangna river originates from Khatling glacier and meets Bhagirathi near Old Tehri. Hello ! Your blog is very interesting and you seem very knowledgeable. A while ago, you reblogged a post about Adbullah Ibn Sad Ibn Abi Sarh, one of Muhammad's scribes, who was the first apostate because he knew it was a false prophet. However, while searching for further informations, I've seen articles saying Abdullah went back to Islam before the conquest of Mecca, or that there were two people with the same name, and one (the scribe) really went back to Islam but another man with the same name stayed an apostate and that was were the misunderstanding came from. Nonetheless, a lot of sources were not that objective ('the prophet (PBUH)' or justifying killing some apostates) due to being islamic. Do you have any reliable sources about what is the truth ? (Sorry if I made any mistake, english isn't my first language.) Have a good day !
[ For those of you playing along at home, this Ask is in reference to this post. ]
Yep, it's an interesting story, and particularly how it's just in there in the Islamic history and tradition, without any self-consciousness. Just like the story behind the "revelation" of the hijab ayahs.
Note: “Makkah” refers to Makkah al-Mukarramah, aka Mecca.
https://quranx.com/Hadith/AbuDawud/USC-MSA/Book-14/Hadith-2677/
Narrated Sa'd:
On the day when Mecca was conquered, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave protection to the People except four men and two women and he named them. Ibn AbuSarh was one of them. He then narrated the tradition. He said: Ibn AbuSarh hid himself with Uthman ibn Affan. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called the people to take the oath of allegiance, he brought him and made him stand before the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: Messenger of Allah, receive the oath of allegiance from him. He raised his head and looked at him thrice, denying him every time. After the third time he received his oath. He then turned to his Companions and said: Is not there any intelligent man among you who would stand to this (man) when he saw me desisting from receiving the oath of allegiance, and kill him? They replied: We do not know, Messenger of Allah, what lies in your heart; did you not give us an hint with your eye? He said: It is not proper for a Prophet to have a treacherous eye. Abu Dawud said: 'Abd Allah (b. Abi Sarh) was the foster brother of 'Uthman, and Walid b. 'Uqbah was his brother by mother, and 'Uthman inflicted on him hadd punishment when he drank wine.
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Nasai/DarusSalam/Volume-5/Book-37/Hadith-4072
It was narrated from Mus'ab bin Sa'd that his father said:
"On the day of the Conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah [SAW] granted amnesty to the people, except four men and two women. He said: 'Kill them, even if you find them clinging to the covers of Ka'bah.' (They were) 'Ikrimah bin Abi Jahl, 'Abdullah bin Khatal, Miqyas bin Subabah and 'Abdullah bin Sa'd bin Abi As-Sarh. 'Abdullah bin Khatl was caught while he was clinging to the covers of Ka'bah. Sa'eed bin Huraith and 'Ammar bin Yasir both rushed toward him, but Sa'eed, who was the younger of the two, got there before 'Ammar, and he killed him. Miqyas bin Subabah was caught by the people in the marketplace, and they killed him. 'Ikrimah traveled by sea, and he was caught in a storm. The crew of the ship said: 'Turn sincerely toward Allah, for your (false) gods cannot help you at all in this situation.' 'Ikrimah said: 'By Allah, if nothing came to save me at sea except sincerity toward Allah then nothing else will save me on land. O Allah, I promise You that if You save me from this predicament I will go to Muhammad [SAW] and put my hand in his, and I am sure that I will find him generous and forgiving.' So he came, and accepted Islam. 'Abdullah (bin Sa'd) bin Abi Sarh hid in the house of 'Uthman bin 'Affan, and when the Messenger of Allah [SAW] called the people to give their Oath of Allegiance, he brought him, and made him stand before the Prophet [SAW]. He ('Uthman) said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Accept the allegiance of 'Abdullah.' He raised his head and looked at him three times, refusing his allegiance each time, then he accepted his allegiance after three times. Then he turned to his Companions and said: 'Was there not any sensible man among you who would get up when he saw me refusing to give him my hand and kill him?' They said: 'We did not know, O Messenger of Allah, what was in your heart. Why did you not gesture to us with your eyes?' He said: 'It is not befitting for a Prophet that his eyes be deceitful.'"
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Nasai/DarusSalam/Volume-5/Book-37/Hadith-4074
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said concerning Surat An-Nahl - :
"Whoever disbelieved in Allah after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith; but such as open their breasts to disbelief, on them is wrath from Allah, and theirs will be a great torment." "This was abrogated, and an exception was made, as Allah said: "Then, verily, your Lord for those who emigrated after they had been put to trials and thereafter strove hard and fought (for the Cause of Allah) and were patient, verily, your Lord afterward is, Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." This was 'Abdullah bin Sa'd bin Abi As-Sarh who was the governor of Egypt and used to write to the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. The Shaitan misled him and he went and joined the unbelievers. So he (the Prophet [SAW]) commanded that he be killed on the day of the Conquest of Makkah. Then, 'Uthman bin 'Afan sought protection for him, and the Messenger of Allah [SAW] granted him protection."

Footnote 979:
Tumblr media
By the way, "Ibn" (or "Bin") means "son of." For two people to have the exact same name "Abd Allah Ibn Sa`d Ibn Abi Sarh" they must not only have the same name, but also parents and grandparents with the same name. And you'll notice that the ahadith quoted above give his full name. So, this seems like yet another really huge, convenient coincidence, or else a really stupid attempt at an apologetic.
If Sarh had returned to Islam prior to the fall of Mecca, then there would be no point to the part where Muhammad wanted one of his followers to jump up and execute Sarh.
https://quranx.com/Hadith/Maram/English/Book-9/Hadith-1200
'A’ishah (RAA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said:
“The blood of a Muslim is not to be shed except for three reasons: a married man who committed adultery, a man who kills another Muslim intentionally for which he must be killed (in Qisas or retaliation), and a man who abandons Islam and fights against Allah and His Messenger, in which case he should be either killed, crucified, or exiled.” Related by Abu Dawud and An-Nasa’i. Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih.
Had Sarh already returned and been welcomed back to Islam, then it would have been unlawful to kill him and wouldn't have needed to be pardoned on the day Muhammad conquered Mecca.
Not to mention it being extraordinarily weird for Muhammad to have either Sarh brought before him, if "real" Sarh had already rejoined them, and "false" Sarh was not recognized by Muhammad, despite having been by his side as his scribe.
Somebody's making up stupid, self-refuting shit.
There's a larger problem here, though. The quoted hadith collections are regarded as canonical. If they're contradictory and inconsistent, or even if the absurd "same name" thing is held to be true despite it being said nowhere, then this is admitting that they can't really be trusted at all. It's all just up to the interpreter.
Which reinforces exactly what Sarh noticed in the first place: that Islam is as man-made as every other religion.

Best lakes in Uttarakhand
Naini lake-
Naini Lake, noted for its vessel riding rules the city of the Nainital. It is a freshwater lake, which seems as though a strange diamond situated in the midst of the Oak trees in the lower regions of Himalaya.
Molded like a pear, estimating 1.432 km, its shoreline is dissipated with shopping center street, trees, visitor houses, and sanctuaries. Circled by seven slopes, Nainital Lake is a most loved spot among the sentimental voyagers around the globe. The scene of rugged peaks, mountain pools, and sparkling lakes has been blending the creative mind of numerous artists and journalists, who have attempted to catch the excellence of the lake through their ballad and stories.
7 best places visit in Nainital
Spread more than two miles at a height of 2000 meters, this pear-formed lake was found by P Baron in the year 1839. One can even observe the notice of the Nainital Lake in the celebrated strict content, Skanda Puran as 'Tri-Rishi-Sarovar.' This name, Tri-Rishi-Sarovar, alludes to the three incredible sages of bygone eras who have contemplated here. The three sages were Atri, Pulastya, and Pulaha. Dev Prayag, Uttarakhand, India Nitesh Salkade wrote : Dev Prayag ~ Birthplace of Mighty Ganges 🙂 DevPrayag means "Godly Confluence" in Sanskrit. As per Hindu scriptures, Devaprayaga is the sacred event of merging two heavenly rivers, Alakananda and Bhagirathi, to form the holy Ganga. In Picture, on the left side you can see the turbulent Bhagirathi originating from Gaumukh and Khatling glaciers meeting the calm waters of Alaknanda originating from Satopanth glacier. Fun Fact : Devprayag is the place where river Alaknanda & Bhagirathi confluence, but according to mythology, there is another river that belongs to this confluence named Saraswati which originates from Mana Village in Badrinath and in Devprayag, the river comes from the feet of Shri Raghunath Ji in Raghunath Temple.
