DAIRY FREE “RANCH” PASTA and CHIPOTLE SHRIMP from @starinfinitefood! Perfect for this rainy day. This pasta was so easy and made with dairy free yogurt and tahini, and the shrimp too like 5 minutes! Ever since I saw @kalememaybe Make ranch pasta I have been craving it.⠀ Deets: @marinadelreyfoods Shrimp boiled then tossed in chipotle hot sauce and coconut aminos (I used @sietefoods Sauce), avocado and eatbanza pasta with tomatoes and sautéed spinach and this ranch sauce. Ranch sauce (makes enough for a whole box of pasta): 1/2 cup kitehillfoods yogurt, 2 teaspoons woodstockfoods tahini, 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and salt/pepper to taste. About us...
Since this is our first post, we thought it would be a good idea to introduce ourselves. 
Hello! We are Jackie and Noemi. We are a married couple (1 year this July) who decided to change our lifestyle. January 13, 2020 we made the switch to the ketogenic diet. We weren’t happy with our diets and bodies. We needed something realistic to adhere to and stumbled upon keto while researching other options.
Of course, we had heard about it (thanks Jersey Shore!). However, we didn’t know any specifics. We found tons of sample meal plans, recipes, etc. So we decided to give it a try for 2 weeks to see if it was feasible for us. After 2 weeks, we were hooked! Not only did we see results, but we genuinely enjoyed all of the meals and recipes we tried. Here we are 1 week shy of our 3 month ketoversary!
We started this blog in order to share our stories with like minded or curious people. We want to share it all, successes, failures, experiments, thoughts, recipes, etc...

Hey friends,
I'm excited to announce the first ever low-carb event for keto ladies in Europe! It will take place in the beautiful Mallorca in Spain in just one month and I will be sharing my 7-year low-carb living experience.
When I attended The Low Carb Universe in November last year, I had an amazing time meeting with some of the geniuses of the low-carb world, listening to their enlightening talks.
Dr Andreas Eenfeldt, also known as Diet Doctor, talked about the food revolution and shared the latest news from the low-carb world. My good friend Franziska Spritzler, also known as the Low-Carb Dietitian, focused on practical tips for low-carb living. Emily Maguire and Patricia Daly were looking at the therapeutic effects of the ketogenic diet. And the list of amazing speakers goes on: Dr Eric Westman, Dr Jeffry Gerber, Dr Trudi Deakin, Ivor Cummins, Sam Feltham and many more!

KetoLadies is the first low carb event in Europe focusing on women and I can’t wait to meet even more like minded people! There will be lots of great speakers including Franziska Spritzler, Dr Trudi Deakin, Shawn Mynar, Stephanie Dodier, Vanessa Spina and many more.
I’d love to see you there if you can make it so come and join us at the beautiful getaway in Puerto Soller! This way you can learn from the experience of others and get inspired by your fellow low-carbers while enjoying delicious low-carb food and having a great time.
During the event between March 8 and 11, you can attend inspiring lectures followed by workshops. On Friday March 9th, I will talk about the Lessons I’ve Learnt from 7 Years of Low-Carb Living during which I will share my story and discuss common misconceptions about low-carb living.
Later on you can attend my workshop on How to Use Planning & Tracking to Your Benefit. At the end of the workshop I'll be giving away 3 brand new iPads so make sure to attend :-)

Keto ladies! Vegan ladies! Keto vegan ladies! I'm starting to get a little concerned because I haven't had my period since I went lchf about 2 months ago. I've lost weight, but it hasn't been a drastic amount -- I'm definitely still in a healthy range. I've admittedly been under a bit of stress at work as well, but again, I wouldn't consider it extreme. Supplements!
Every morning Jackie and I pop some pills! Haha.
In all seriousness, when we went keto we decided to add some additional health supplements to our morning routine. These are apple cider vinegar and daily fiber doses.
Daily fiber is an easy one, we needed to make sure that we were still getting a good amount of it for the sake of...well....our bowels lol. I (Noemi) for one....gets cranky when the go isnt going. So we wanted to make sure we took an extra step to stay regular because one of the side effects is constipation. No thank you.
So why apple cider vinegar pills? One, Jackie didn't think she would be able to take the shot of it. It burns your throat, doesn't taste good, and well the whole process gets dragged out. We found some pills and figured it would make it easier.
Next, what are the benefits of ACV? If you don't already know, let's talk about them.
1. Weight loss and metabolism boost, but you shouldn't solely rely on ACV to lose weight. Still need to eat right and get it tight. Along with this, it helps lose belly fat.
2. Lowers your cholesterol. Happy heart, happy body, happy life.... wait that's not the right saying is it...?
3. Reduces blood pressure
4. Lowers blood sugar which is right along side with the ketogenic diet..
5. Additional random things that ACV helps with: yeast infections, sinus infection, sore throat, etc...

Easy go-to keto “pizza”
Hello, hello!
We were craving pizza today and decided to make or go to “pizza” meal for dinner. It is honestly so easy, and if you do it right: 0 NET CARBS! SAY WHAT?! That’s right, 0 net carbs. 
So since we’re feeling generous, we decided to share our recipe for curious minds! What you’re going to need is as follows:
1. Keto bread - we get our from Aldi (woot woot, HYFR aldi!) 2. Hormel Turkey Pepperoni 3. Cheese of your choice, our go-to is pepper jack or colby jack slices Optional toppings we use - jalapeno slices, banana peppers, FLAVOR GOD Pizza seasoning, and ranch for dipping.
Depending on how many calories you want you can mess with the serving sizes of the toppings. We weigh out everything cause we’re still logging our macros on an app (CarbManager FTW!). 
Directions: we use a toaster oven, hence the putting in and taking out of the bread... 1. Toast the bread slightly first to get a nice crisp to your “crust” 2. Take the bread out and place your toppings on there 3. Toast the “pizza” to your preferred crispiness 4. BAM! All done you are now ready to stuff yo face with something delicious! Again, if you play your cards right, this meal can be both low calorie and ZERO net carbs. For example, tonight we switched up our toppings and our stats were different.
N: 353 calories, 2 carbs (cause I used a block of mozzarella that I stupidly didn’t double check....grr....but I was craving mozz so i took the “hit” lol) J: 352 calories, 0 carbs (she used pepper jack)

3 day bone broth cleanse!
THE DAY OF REAL FOOD FOR ALL MEALS HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! 
Wifey and I decided to take on a 3 day bone broth cleanse to detox and reboot our bodies. We had quite a weekend and mistakes were made. The guilt hit us and to say we were bloated is quite an understatement! On top of that, we both seemed to fall out of ketosis for some reason we couldn’t figure out prior to our weekend shenanigans.
We had heard of a bone broth cleanse before and did some more reading up on it. 3 days wouldn’t be so bad right? Welp....we were mostly right. 
We made it 2.5 days, so I mean...85% completed. Due to lack of sleep, being cramped up in the house for 24 hours of the day, and working from home, we struggled...hard. Also, hungry kids who want snacks didn’t make it any easier. LOL. However, we made small portions of some of our favorite go-to meals in order to ease back into full on keto. 
Lets talk stats here: Noemi - SW: 128.8lbs, CW: 122.2lbs Jackie - SW: 133.6lbs; CW: 129.8lbs
Next’s hope that this system reboot helps us get back into ketosis! Below will be our before and after pictures:
