ok I know it’s monday after 1pm and nobody is online but I wanna talk about meeting Steve Blum 🥺🥺🥺

Me and my friend waited in line for three hours, maybe four? He motioned for me to come forward when it was my turn and I pointed at myself to make sure he actually meant me, and he kind of laughed and said “yes you!! It’s okay, come here” And once I approached him I started shaking just like I knew would happen, I had no words :’) He was so patient though, he said “hi” and I said “hi” and he said “hi” and I said “hi” and he laughed again and said “how are you doing today?” And I was like “I’m!! I’m well!! How are you? Are you tired?” He said “I’m good, but yeah I’m really sleepy. But it’s worth it! we made it to sunday!!! yaaay!!” he seemed so cheerful for someone who barely slept within 4 days, stood and socialized in such an overcrowded setting for 10 hours each day, living on those little 8-hour energy drinks (kind of like retail ig)

I handed him the envelope after he confirmed he accepts gifts, and he said “oh my goodness, look how beautiful this is! look at how much time you spent on this -- this is so lovely, I can’t wait to open it!! this is amazing!! I can’t wait to get home and play with this, thank you!!” and the envelope drawings weren’t even special, they were little star and heart shapes because duh it’s ME and i also put some starscream and heatwave stickers on there hehe/// but he was acting like it was so pretty, it was very sweet of him to do that

And I actually planned to give him just one of the charms separately, just to see his reaction. I chose the Steve charm bc I think it’s the cutest one + I don’t know if he often gets fanart of. like. himself? So I handed it to him, and he didn’t even have to pull it out of the bag to recognize it, he immediately says “oh my god that’s me!! oh my god that’s me!!!” and he’s holding the thing so carefully while studying it. “this is amazing, oh my god. you made this? you MADE this?? that’s... amazing” and he reads my full name I wrote on the back and says “Keri... Keri... I recognize your name... on cameos, right?” He pauses. “My little starflower, is that you??”

I was in SHOCK?? I didn’t think he’d actually?? recognize my name let alone remember the starflower thing?? and I lost my words again so I just nodded a lot, and his eyes WIDEN and he leans forward and says “wait really?! THAT WAS YOU?” and I nodded again, and squeaked “you? remember??” and he insists “yes! I remember! I remember!! my starflower from cameos!!” and he starts laughing in disbelief, shaking his head while saying “I can’t believe I’m meeting you! my little starflower, yes of course I remember you!!” and he slipped into the starscream voice and said SO fondly “my little starflower keri...” (made me GASP) “of course I would remember my starflower, of course I do, my little starflower Keri...” and I melted. I fucking MELTED and he just kept laughing and repeating (in his normal speaking voice) “wow, it’s you!! of course I’d remember that! my starflower! it’s you!!”

and I told him that the gift package was my way of trying to repay him for all the cameos, even though there isn’t hardly enough in there, I wanted to give him *something* because “you saved my life” and I wasn’t going into details abt that part but he looked rly touched and said “awww... alright, hold on, I HAVE to hug you!” AND I’M LIKE. WAIT WHAT REALLY? FOR REAL? I didn’t have any time to even open my mouth after he said that bc NO HESITATION, DUDE DROPS EVERYTHING AND *CLIMBS OUT OF HIS LITTLE BOOTH AREA* and immediately wraps his arms around me and hugged me so tight 🥺🥺 and he leans into my ear and says “you’re amazing. this is the reason why I love my job. you’re so amazing, don’t forget that, okay Keri? you’re wonderful. you’re incredible, okay? I’m honored to meet you, you’re amazing” and he kept repeating a bunch of compliments, I don’t remember half of them because I was like, barely processing what was happening and thinking holy shit I can’t believe this is actually going so well and then when he pulled away he said “okay I’m gonna sign something for you!”

So he pulls out a Starscream print and slips into the stsc voice again “to my Starflower, yes? yes...” and while we watched him write, I was completely mesmerized and gripping onto my friend’s arm for dear life. she doesn’t even know steve or any of his shows but she came all this way with me and stayed in the line with me and made SURE to take photos and record some audio and did everything to make sure we’d get in line today (she’s amazing and i fucking love her) & steve wrote “Keri... thank you for being my little Starflower. love, Starscream (and steve)” which reminded me of the one time he said in a cameo in his stsc voice sooo gently “thank you for loving me” like it just. oogghgh made me melt. and then he said “honestly, with you, Starscream is probably the nicest he’s ever been” and I was just in complete awe this whole time, I couldn’t believe he was actively encouraging my silly selfship shit to this level. I really just expected him to say “oh, cool, sure, ok here’s your print” and for the line to keep moving. all of this was so unexpected. so I said “this evil alien robot killed someone not even 5 minutes into the first episode, and you make him so nice to me, and I appreciate it so much” and he said “aww! hey, absolutely, it’s always my choice! and of course he’d be nice to you, you’re his starflower aren’t you??” GODDDDDD

and I thought we’d be done, but he suddenly calls for his agent (gwen. i love her. love gwen, absolute queen), and shows her the Steve charm and says “gwen look! look at this, oh my god. look how amazing this is!! isn’t this incredible? she DREW this, can you believe that? Keri, you even put my tattoo on there!! that’s my tattoo! the attention to detail!! I’m definitely gonna take this home, I’m keeping this on my desk forever! I love this so much, are you kidding me? I am never letting this go!”

And Gwen says “oh my god, that’s SO CUTE!!! Keri, did you make this? you MADE all of these charms?” (im assuming she opened the envelope to check inside for safety reasons, I think it’s part of her job) then she asks “do you post more artwork anywhere like instagram? you should tag us, we’ll share it!!” and steve turns, drops his markers and chimes loudly “YES WE WILL SHARE IT this is DEFINITELY going online” and she goes on for like a full minute telling me to share my artwork with steve nodding encouragingly adding a little “yes!” “absolutely!” “yes!!” every five seconds while I’m still shaking like a leaf. I looked AND sounded absolutely ridiculous w/ my dumb high pitched voice, barely remembering to nod my head and to breathe, couldn’t believe he’s talked to me this long, couldn’t believe he’s THIS enthusiastic, couldn’t believe he likes my art THIS MUCH when I was so sure he wouldn’t want anything to do with me, couldn’t believe his wholeass agent is compliment my art and saying she’d want to share it??? like literally everything went Best Case Scenario, this was way more than I could have dreamed. insane. AND WE’RE NOT EVEN DONE YET--

he opens the envelope to put the charm inside and says “I’m NOT losing THIS” and then he peaks further into the package and says “oooohh there’s all KINDS of goodies in here!!! thank you so much, I’m going to have so much fun getting to look at all of these!!” and Gwen holds up the blue star bag that I put the Steve charm in, and she says “this is my favorite!! star is my middle name, blue is my favorite color, and I looove sparkly things” and I said “you are literally the coolest human being alive” and she laughs “you are so funny!!” and Steve hugged her and said “I’ll give you the star bag Gwen!” and she said “there’s more in here with all kinds of sparkles!” and he says “ooooh, sounds like something Keri would do” SDLKJFHKLDF

and then we took a pic and then he asked if I wanted a short little video, and if I wanted to be IN the video with him, or if I just wanted it to be him only. I really didn’t want to be in it bc I already hated hearing myself talk but I said “oh whatever you’re comfortable with” and he said “well come here, you can’t have Starlight without his Starflower! I’ll ask you some questions and you answer them with me okay?” 😭💕 so he pulls me into the recording w/ my friend’s phone and he said “Keri, Keri, my little starflower... did you drink your energon today?” and I said why yes Starlight I certainly did and he replies “mm, yes, I can tell, you are looking exceptionally powerful!” and he did such a cute evil laugh and it took all of my guts to keep quiet bc my reaction every time he laughs is “awwwWWWW” but I didn’t wanna mess up the video w/ my dumb voice. and he added “Oh, don’t tell Megatron about this though, he’d be sooo jealous I get to talk to you...” like omfg dude is out here confirming that Megatron is so down bad in the megakeri relationship and he has no idea 😂

and the rest is kind of foggy bc I was barely processing half of this, so nervous abt my own behavior, in absolute shock that he was like, leaning so close and making eye contact the entire interaction to make sure that he knows that I had his full attention. he was so patient and never cut me off, even tho I was talking so fast bc I was sooo anxious but he was so so so kind the entire time... and then out of nowhere he pulls me into ANOTHER HUG 🥺🥺 and thanks me again saying “please take care, starflower. you really are an incredible artist” 😭😭😭

and after all of that, I was just. glowing. walking in a complete daze. i couldn’t even hear the crowd, ppl were bumping into me bc it was like a SEA of people at this convention, but it was just a buzzing sound to me bc all I could think about was the signed print in my hands and all the memories that come with it now... I didn’t expect him to remember me, let alone get so excited and? hug me? give me all these memorable things? say such nice things??? insist that he wanted to keep my artwork? promised he would do everything to make sure it got home safe? god. I also said at the very end “hey if you ever find an alternate to cameo... I will give you all of my money” and he laughed and said “nooo I don’t want your money, I don’t do this for money!” and there wasn’t any further comment abt cameo and I was like ok the line is moving I gotta GO go. so it’s unlikely he will ever find a cameo alternate, but like... I have over a dozen of his cameos already I get to cherish, +1 cameo we did ~together~ + all of those nice compliments. I’m just... still in shock... ok thank u to anyone who took the time to read this ❤

do you mind if i ask how you go about asking for cameos? im trying to go about asking for one for one of my f/os but ive never done it, what should i prepare, if anything? (if u dont wanna answer this/dont have the time thats cool, have a good day!!)

Ohghgh it's been a hot minute... god I miss cameo... their layout may have changed since I've been gone but I can absolutely give you tips 💖

Check the publicly posted cameos. See how long or short they are and determine if it'd be worth your money. I always think it's good when someone gives me over 40 seconds of dialogue, but most of the time it can range from 30 seconds to 1 minute or more, depending on who you purchase. My longest F/O cameo was 10 minutes and my shortest was about 20 seconds. And even the 20 second cameo is special to me! But not everyone feels like it's worth it when a cameo is super super short. For me it depends on the F/O and the voice actor, like if Steve ever gave me a short cameo, however rare that was, I didn't mind because I love anything Starscream could possibly say to me. But if I were to request something from any VA other than Steve for a less major F/O and they gave me only 20 seconds... it wouldn't feel worth it to me. But everyone is different!

Ok for the cameo request itself. What do you want to feel when you open it? Do you want to be comforted? Do you want to feel loved? Do you want to feel encouraged?

Normally, I request encouragement, even if I'm not really needing a specific feeling. Sometimes I think "damn I want a F/O to talk to me" and I will request a pep talk like "you've got this!" or something soft like "remember you're loved and you matter!"

I cannot stress enough tho, you have to tell the VA that you want it in the character voice. Sometimes you can tell a VA "hey I love this character. anyway can I have a pep talk" and they'll spend the cameo time talking about the character, instead of having the actual character do the encouraging. Which is still nice, but when your hopes are up for your F/O to talk to you and you don't get that, then it's a little disappointing. I normally write mine as "May I please request [character] saying [insert phrase I want here]?"

The character/word limit absolutely kills me. I wish I knew how to navigate around that. I just shorten "you" to "u" and "and" to "&", stuff like that... the way they split it into sections doesn't help much either :')

If you want your F/O to be romantic but you're too shy to request a straight up "I love you" you can always say "I have a crush on this character" and the VA will completely understand and probably slip in a little flirty line for you. Voice actors are most likely used to ppl getting crushes on their characters, esp if their character is WELL loved in their respective fandom (i.e. Silco from Arcane). Once I requested a cameo from Princess Bubblegum's voice actor from Adventure Time, and I was a little too shy to just up and write "can you say something romantic to me" so I just said "I have a little crush on PB" or something, and she responded with a lot of flirting sdfkljsdf

Also bonus points if you want them to call you a nickname, I normally write it in the "what should [voice actor] know about you?" and I write "can you have [character] call me [nickname] too?" like for silco's VA I asked him to call me his "fallen star" and he was rly soft w/ it...

he did his greetings/happy valentines day and everything, BUT THEN HE SAID “KERIII I AM HERE!! WITH A VALENTINES DAY MESSAGE!! FOR YOU!! :D” 

and then he started screech-singing the Evil Love Song™ while strumming the guitar except this version was REALLY SOFT almost like an acoustic version........... and just the fact that i got to hear that pure/raw unfiltered version of that song with just HIS voice w/ no background vocals, no one else singing with him, the only music was v gentle guitar strumming, it was so nice 🥺🥺🥺 he literally could not hit any of the notes at all because he’s doof but he’s MY doof and i wouldn’t have it ANY OTHER WAY 🥰🥰💕💕💕💕💕💕

and then he rly struggled w/ the last note and laughed “i do not believe i can still sing that high! it’s, ah - it has been a while :)” and then he said some other stuff but AHGHGH THE SONG IS WHAT PULLED AT MY HEART THE MOST

this was so sweet tbh?? like i rly had no expectations, i didnt have room to clear instructions so i was just like “may i please have a valentines message from doofenshmirtz... as sappy & sweet as possible” and he’s like. OH YOU WANT ROMANTIC?? [pulls out guitar] NOTHIN’ SAPPIER AND SWEETER THAN BEING SERENADED BY THE FUTURE RULER OF THE TRI-STATE AREA!!

It’s 5 in the morning. I just finished 3 more doodle commissions. I booked an early birthday cameo request from Mitchell Whitfield (Fixit’s voice actor), because I saved up enough for it for the last three months now, and I really really need something to look forward to this week--

Here’s the thing though: I requested it two hours ago. Only two hours. Not even the full two hours later, he!!! Responds!!! With the sweetest goddamn video in the world!! I am a weepy mess!!! This is the quickest cameo response I have ever gotten!! From anyone!! Ever!!! Two hours, holy shit, the normal wait time for Mitchell is normally four days. I actually had to stop what I was doing and squint at the email that says “your cameo was completed!” and I was like “wait what, for real? wait, what? no way, this has to be a mistake-- what?”

Anyway I need to explode about it under the readmore because I’m a happy tearful mess:

So, I didn’t request anything, I said “Hi, I don’t have a request, I just wanted to use my birthday as an excuse to say hi and say thank you because you’ve brought a lot of joy into my life” etc etc, didn’t even mention Fixit once (curse the 100 character limit), and YET this man somehow still found a way to make this cameo SO SPECIAL despite the fact that I didn’t even have any special request for him 🥺🥺

He was wearing a Captain America shirt and he spent a minute talking about his shirt, and how he loves this shirt, it’s his favorite shirt, he’s so careful with this shirt, it’s his pajamas shirt that his daughter bought for him, and that it was midnight where he lives now and he was ready to play some video games when he got my request notification, and he said “Keri!! I was so excited to get your request, I just needed to do it immediately, I couldn’t wait! I am so happy to get your message, I wanted to give you a response right now!! Even though I’m in my pajamas :) I am so happy to hear from you again Keri!! I actually jumped off of the couch and ran into my office so I could immediately record this--” (CUE ME ALREADY CRYING)

And he softened his voice a bit and said “it’s your birthday, isn’t that special? you don’t have to have any “excuse” to reach out to me, I like hearing from you even if you don’t have a request. I’m just happy that I can give you joy - which gives me joy right back!!”

And then he talked some more about birthdays and how apparently we share a birthday month!! His bday is tomorrow and mine is in two weeks :D!! And then!! He said the sweetest thing, he said “oh, and you know what Keri? I know you didn’t request it, but really, it wouldn’t be a message for Keri, if I didn’t do this for you--!!” and he slipped into the Fixit voice and said “Sweetspark!! I hope your birthday is a wonderful play - clay - DAY!!” (CUE ME SOBBING BECAUSE HE REMEMBERED I LOVE FIXIT AND NOW I’M JUST A PUDDLE BECAUSE I’M SO TOUCHED AND HONORED)

and then he said “I am so, so happy I get to do that voice for you. I never get to use that voice anymore, and it’s one of my favorite voice acting gigs I ever had, I’m sad I don’t get to use it anymore! If I never voice Fixit for anything else, I’m so happy I get to do it just for you Keri!! Now I’ll always do the voice for you in all of your cameos, even if you don’t request it, I’ll do it for you anyway because it makes me happy and I hope it makes you happy.”

🥺🥺🥺 Oh my god. He remembered my two single Fixit requests from months ago??? And he did the voice for me and was so sweet about it,,, I’ve been crying over it for like ten minutes now sdfsdfhdf this was so damn sweet. I can’t believe he answered this IMMEDIATELY. He could have kept watching TV or playing video games or like, slept on it for a few days, but no, this guy just... jumped RIGHT onto my request and I’m so glad he did, because I really, really, really needed this sweetness as soon as possible, and - well, you can’t get sooner than this!

Thanks to anyone who took the time to read all of that. I don’t really get to tell many people about my cameos outside of this hellsite, so I’m glad I get to dump all of my excitement here ❤

Okay hardly anyone is online to read about it BUT THAT’S OKAY I need to explode about two (2!!!) TWO!!! TWO CAMEOS I got as surprise gifts for my bday 🥺🥺

My gf and a very sweet friend of mine both each individually bought me a cameo from steve asking for a st//rscream birthday video. and. neither of them knew the other person bought me the same thing. and steve’s reaction to getting two requests for the same person at the same exact time is. kind of funny LOL

anyway I’m gonna explode under the readmore as usual:

!!!! AH okay!!! OKAY SO my first cameo (from my gf) he said “Hello Keri!!” Then he softened his voice and whispered “My little Starflower” like he always does o my god 🥺🥺🥺 

and then he said some stuff about birthdays and how they (meaning Cybertronians) don’t celebrate them on Cybertron and how time is kind of “immaterial” for him, so that was his “apologies for wishing you a belated birthday” and then!! He!! Stopped himself, his voice cracked a bit when he said in a flustered tone “and... ah, well—“ softened his voice again and said “thank you... for loving me... when most people don’t.” and then he smiled and THAT REALLY. SENT AN ARROW THRU MY HEART. Thank u for loving me??? Oh my GOD 😭😭😭😭😭😭 any fucking TIME starlight I will ALWAYS love u!!!!! 

Aghh that also made me feel better about the whole thing that happened last week where like... I was just so upset that ppl treat this character so poorly whether it’s canon or within the fandom... and when I made a few vent posts about it I had a few nice ppl tell me “aw st//rscream would appreciate you sticking up for him” so to hear the voice actor actually say in the actual stsc voice “thank you for loving me” my GOD I appreciated that so much. What the fuck. then he did a tiny little “happy birthdaaay” at the end with a little wave and that was SO cute///// Happy birthday Keri INDEED

But then not even 20 minutes later my friend texts me saying “heyyy I have a gift for you! Happy late bday!” And she sends a cameo with steve’s thumbnail and I’m like WHAT. WAIT WHAT?? ANOTHER ONE?? and I opened the video and it was a bit longer than the last and he says “Hello Keri, it’s me, St//rscream-?” pause. blink. “...again?!”

And he said that my friend wrote in the request box that I was going thru a rough time, and he said in the stsc voice SO matter-of-factly “you’re going to get through this!” like it was such YOU WILL GET BETTER, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE energy and normally he’s very gentle w/ those kinds of things but starlight’s PASSIONATE starlight’s TOUGH starlight’s got a THINGS WILL GET BETTER, PRIMUS DAMN IT ALL TO THE PIT, I’LL MAKE IT BETTER kind of attitude!!

And he gave more encouragement for about 20-30 seconds and one part was very funny because when he started to [in character] vent about megatr//n exasperatedly, his voice craaAAacked an entire octave higher than I’ve ever fucking heard even in canon he was so exasperated

One touching moment was him saying very matter-of-factly again “you’re going to be okay, Keri, I mean look at me! I have to deal with - with trials, and tribulations, and... and Megatr//n... and... Cybertron, and... ah, um....” and he started just. mumbling. so low. and fidgeting w/ his hands (I think it’s neat when Steve gets so into character that he fidgets while voice acting for St//rscream) “decepticons... auto...bots...” then he growls an octave lower than normal (hoo) “everyone is so mean to me.” complete silence for at least 5 seconds. then he SHOUTS: “BUT!!!!! I’M HAPPY!!! AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE!! IT! IS! YOUR! BIRTH! DAY! AND I AM CELEBRATING RIGHT ALONG WITH YOU! HAPPY!! HAPPY!! BIRTHDAY!!!!!”

Then he flashed a smile, his voice dropped back to its normal pitch/volume, and he said in a happy-go-lucky tone “all hail me!! :)” which was. so fucking cute. I’ve never heard him say that in any of my other cameos before!! Normally he ends a cameo with “don’t tell megatr//n we’ve had this conversation” but he probably thought to himself “hm I just said that 20 minutes ago in her OTHER birthday cameo so I should switch it up a bit”

Anyway that was very nice of Steve to do both of them for me and very nice of my gf and my friend to get those!!!! For me!!!! 🥺🥺🥺 I still cannot get over the “thank you for loving me” and aghhh god the way he said “you’re GOING to get THROUGH this” was so confident,,, makes me think I might really be okay. even for just a few hours. but especially the “thank you for loving me” I’ve been sniffling and crying over that soft-as-a-melting-marshmallow line delivery for the past thirty minutes now

i totally understand of this is too personal and i totally get it if you don't want to. But would you ever consider sharing those animatics with the voice clips.They sound so cute and in so happy you've been able to have Starscream VA actualky call you starflower 🥺😭. But again no pressure. Regardless i love your content and love seeing you happy with your f/os.

I just haven't finished them, yet. I keep changing the scripts because every time I get a new cameo, I get new material, sometimes even material I didn't initially ask/pay for, but then I’m like “oh! I needed that. I could use this”

When I do finish the animatics one day, however far off that day might be, I'm most likely going to keep the voices out of the animatics when I post them. And then my friends/mutuals I trust can DM me for the actual, fully voiced animatics, because... I've just had a history of people taking my self ship content, whether it's tracing my artwork, rewriting my fics and replacing my name with their self insert's... it would really tear me up if someone downloaded my voice lines and used them for themselves, whether it's for a self ship or just in general, if someone used my voice lines without asking me, when all of this audio was personalized for me. And I've paid almost a thousand dollars for these in the span of two years, it would REALLY SUCK if I lost them.

So this way I'd be sharing the artwork/animatic part, and getting feedback on that... then if we're mutuals/friends, I'd be able to send out the link to the actual voiced parts to ppl that I trust wouldn't download or share it at all.

As for the shorter/smaller animatics, however, with like... less lines, ones that aren't specifically "this is for starflower keri, this is poetry, this is a full six minute love confession" but rather just a bunch of miscellaneous lines, like him grumbling about something small, or... he's commenting on the weather... little things that I don't feel afraid to share since it's not personalized at all... then yeah, those I'd just post publicly, no DMs needed!

Honestly those will probably be finished first, since they'd be really short, like maybe ten or so seconds long. I'm very very excited to start any of them tbh!! 🌟🌸✨

Okay so I didn’t request anything specific, I was just like “hi, happy holidays, thank you for all you do, here’s some tip money, I hope u and your family are doing well” blahblahblah and for the little extra box at the end I also wrote “thanks for all the Fixit cameos from the past, I like to use them for my animatics :)” or smth along those lines

Mitchell’s videos are normally several minutes long but this time it was a little less than a minute, he said “hey I’m so sorry this is going to be so short, I am literally getting into the car right now. And after some other stuff he said about family and holidays and such he was like “Keri!! You make animatics?? I didn’t know you liked drawing! I’m so glad to hear that!! That makes me so happy!! Well, I hope Fixit is the ENTIRE INSPIRATION and absolutely NOTHING else!” (and then he pretended to flip his hair at this part sdfljsfdlf) “So from the BOTH of us--” and then he slipped into the Fixit voice and said “I wanna wish you a happy -- trappy -- SAPPY!! -- NO WAIT!! back to HAPPY -- holidays!!” and then in his normal voice he said “I know you didn’t ask, but I made a promise to you that I’d always do the voice when you order from me now!! I had to throw in there a little Fixit just for you :) okay bye!! happy holidays, I’ll talk to you again soon, okay?”

It was short but VERY VERY VERY sweet, and exactly what I needed after a horrendous Christmas Eve. I may not have much of a family to spend the holidays with, but I’ve always got my F/Os... which. is not something most ppl normally say but!! It’s nice. Having this. Voice clips of my F/Os telling me nice things, and the VAs being really really nice and generous about it. 

Honestly Mitchell is such a nice, sweet person, he doesn’t even have to do/say anything Fixit-related for me to enjoy a cameo. This dude could talk about paint drying and infodump to me about fifty types of grass and I’d be super interested the entire time, because he’s just such an amazing and kind and warm person and just generally fun to get a cameo from!! He’s always so nice and cheerful the entire time, I don’t have hardly any anxiety at all! ❤❤❤

A few months ago, I showed one of my coworkers (who is a BIG fan of tf) one of my St//rscream cameos and he was like “holy shit, that’s... the real voice actor?? what is this, how did you do this??” and he didn’t know what cameo was so I told him more about it and now he’s getting ‘em all the time! 

And so today he was like “so how many cameos do you have from steve?” and I said, after a moment of thought, “twelve”

and he goes “what”

and I said again “twelve. from steve right? i got a new one yesterday though so maybe thirteen by now? fourteen if you count the one with distorted audio-”

“keri how much did you spend???”

"probably like... 600 dollars”

“WHAT”

“maybe 800 or 900, but two of them were free so--”

“KERI WHAT. KERI HOLY SHIT WHAT??”

and I was confused until I realized he thought I meant I’d spent hundreds of dollars all at once and I was like NO NO. OVER THE COURSE OF ONE YEAR. I HAVE SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN JUST ONE YEAR I SWEAR. like dude I WISH our retail job paid us enough for that kind of self indulgence

anyway today he texted me later and said “hey can you send me your St//rscream cameos? I really want to see them” and I was like “ALL OF THEM??” and he said “yeah and if you have any art I’d love to see it!” so I sent him some self shippy stuff too since that’s literally ALL I draw, and he was like “THIS IS SO CUTE HOLY SHIT!!! GOOD FOR YOU KERI!! You should make these into stickers or something! :D” and now I’m all soft,,, bro there ARE good people in the world 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺

I have a few f/o voice actors on cameo and I want to buy one sooo bad but I’m scared that they’ll judge me but also know that’s such an irrational thought. Bless you for being so much braver than me <3

Anon! Sweet anon, I'm gonna let you in on a little secret: I am BEYOND anxious every time I order a cameo. Every. Single. Time.

You can ask my gf, I've had anxiety attacks before bc I'm so worried of what the VA will think of me. And with Starlight's VA, especially, I am TERRIFIED because I've requested from him 17 times in the last two years, and it'll be 18 today!!! I always get worried that he's super annoyed with me, even though it’s his job to voice act, it's not like he's new to people asking for personalized romantic stuff. It's his personal choice to give me the videos I ask/pay for, and if he didn't want to do them, he wouldn't be so nice and give so much extra fluffy dialogue, and if he really, truly did not want my cameo requests anymore, he would just block me. Which, obviously, he hasn’t. Yet I’m still like “okay but what if-?”

No matter what, I'm still very very anxious every time I fill out my little form. And once my request is completed and the video is sent to me, I will send it to my gf who will open it BEFORE I do and text back “it’s good, he doesn’t hate you” lmao. Every time. I spend at least an hour re-reading my request form so I make sure it all looks perfect. I re-read my receipt at least three times to make sure that what I sent STILL looks perfect. 

What I’m trying to say is... my fear/anxiety is always gonna be there, but I buy the cameos anyway. I am a shaking mess the entire time I write out my form, but the anxiety blows over after maybe an hour and then it's replaced with excitement! Because holy shit! A cameo! I'm getting a cameo! It's a wonderful feeling and anon, you deserve to feel excited, too. Even if it's nerve-racking at first, IT'S SO WORTH IT.

Because, anon, let me tell you, there is no feeling compared to the JOY of your F/O calling you by your name, and saying the things you've always dreamed of them saying. I feel so much closer to my Starlight than I ever have been before, because!! He's called me his little Starflower!! Several times!! He's said he loves me, he's laughed joyfully and said soft things you’d never hear in canon!! He’s said so many things just. Raw. Unfiltered. No background noise, no music, nothing. Just... the pure, real voice, saying encouraging, wonderful things and saying my name?? Knowing the is personalized, it’s something nobody else in the entire world experiences because no two videos are ever the same!! This joyful feeling, this precious memory, it’s mine, it’s mine, I get to keep these videos to myself and watch them anytime I want. Hearing your F/O say your name!! Saying things for you and only you is, at least for me -- someone who has been self shipping her whole life and finds it as necessary as breathing -- the most amazing feeling. Ever. And it’s!!! yours!!! forever!!!

It's such a special thing and you never know how long the VA is going to stay on cameo, you know? Some of them stay for a few months, some of them limit how many they can do per week so it’s hard to get your request filled out on time, some of them only stay for *one day*, donate their proceeds to charities, and then delete their page. You never know!!

I say, you gotta go for it. If you want the cameo and you have the money, you have to make that leap. It’s your money, you should be able to appropriately spend it on something that you want, something you know you can constantly get joy out of. I cannot tell you how many nights where I’d be feeling really exhausted or just having an awful day in general, and I can just open up my phone and watch my videos... and it’s like everything else falls away. 

It is so, so, so worth it. I promise you. Let yourself have this. You deserve this.

(((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))) OH U GUYS!! I never gushed abt my Fixit cameo I got a few months ago!!

Back in April, when I requested a voice cameo from Fixit’s voice actor, he was really excited because “nobody ever requests transformers?!” so I made the mental note back then to request another when I’d need one -- and I did!!

I requested a pep talk in the character voice and the next day his response within the first few seconds of the video was “BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, I HAVE TO SHOW YOU MY DOG” and he has the CUTEST pitbull ;o; !! and then he said “I remember you, Keri, we talked about Fixit before! And I wore this exact same shirt for your last cameo... I swear I own other shirts. That’s so funny, I’m wearing the same shirt as-- Keri, I promise you, I own other shirts, please excuse my lack of wardrobe, I absolutely own more than one shirt, that would be very weird if I never changed clothes, I SWEAR I OWN OTHER SHIRTS” so that was both very funny + also so heartwarming to hear that he remembered me!! ;w; and he went on talking about anything under the sun that he could think of and then finally he said “oh!! but you wanted to hear FIXIT speak to you! so here I am!” 

And then he did the Fixit voice and said really nice things like “I want you to remember that you are strong, people love you, you can get through anything, just like I’ve gotten through this, like I have with the help of my bens-- stems-- FRIENDS!” and then he switched back to his normal voice and said “I always gotta do the triple-word thing because that’s what Fixit would do. I’m so glad this proved to me I can still do the voice after half a decade! Anyway Keri I hope this made you feel better, I know it certainly made me feel better to hear from you again!” I just 🥺🥺 love Fixit SO MUCH you guys and his voice actor is the sweetest, it was definitely worth the money!!!

And then I paid to send him a quick thank-you message and he responded the next day and he’s just!!! such a nice person!!! Ahhh it made me so so sooo happy!! 🥰🥰🥰

The newest cameo layout is so weird for me. The character shortage from 250 to 100 really throws me off. You’d think it’s enough to type a simple request but it’s like jumping through mental hoops trying to figure out how to squeeze everything into half of a sentence.
