Hi hi here's my little pinned post / welcome / explanation post for this lil blog.

I'm Kenz, they/them (okayish still with she/her, but, eh), and my life was consumed by yugioh since I was a kid. So, I created a fuck ton of ocs for the main series, and this is where I decided to put everything. Why? Because my brain needs some level of organization and it's easier to have a blog with dedicated tags; and, for my mobile users, here's the link to the tag directory.

I do plan on doing a series of fics following my ocs journey across the main series, with some additional arcs and tweaks to the timeline and what all transpires bc I think some aspects would naturally change with these ocs additions and fuck it my canon now might as well make it unique. However, it's taking some time for me to get everything set up and ready to post it so please bare with me! And in the meantime I'll post drabbles as I write them!

My main ocs that I typically will go into several essays about are Kat, Maddox, Iris, Nana and Mason, though River is becoming a bit more prominent as I flesh them out; the other OCs are actually their families who have taken over quite a bit of real estate in my brain and especially the Grandma Squad, who will be featured in a prequel fic to showcase Solomon's adventures and the bonds he himself made.

allie adores nova and sirius and gets along with them very well, she met them without being introduced to kenzi first because she came across them in the woods while they were playing and they wandered back to kenzi's together. kenzi and allie had already met so it was pure coincidence that allie had found them, though she had felt a stronger pull towards them because they shared blood with kenzi.

she also lets kenz give her her first tattoo, a little wildflower on her arm. she trusts kenzi completely but she's still nervous for it because of things her mom told her about needles and fae, but also knowing that kenzi is fae makes it a lot easier for her to think about it.

allie has never ever been scared of kenzi's wolf form, she really adores it so much it's just so friend shaped to her. wolf cuddles >>>>>

born & raised in new jersey with her parents & older half-sister. there wasn’t much to do in the small, coastal city she grew up in & everyone knew everyone. the highlight of her youthful years was when her family would take trips to new york city. kennedy took to the more populous city quickly & dreamed of moving there one day

her mother was a middle school music teacher. with her influence, both kennedy & her sister developed an appreciation & talent for playing instruments. she can play piano, trumpet, guitar, & the bass ( some considerably better than others )

she spent a lot of her free time daydreaming & scribbling in her personal journal full of poems turned song lyrics. her wildest fantasies consisted of making a living as a musician-- playing live shows, selling out big arenas, & going on major tours around the world. she wanted to escape her small town & live the rockstar life

when she was seventeen, straight out of high school, she moved to new york & never looked back. she didn’t have much to her name, just a determination to make something of herself in the music scene. she started introducing herself as kenz, liking how edgy it felt in comparison to her given name-- consider it a personal rebrand & the start of a completely new chapter

after trial & error with a bunch of different sounds & bands, kenz found her people in the form of the fellow members of heatstroke

they were a hit at basement shows all around nyc, occasionally booking gigs at popular dive bars to expand their audience beyond music snobs who prided themselves on knowing the group “before they went mainstream”

their build up to commercial success was gradual, taking many years, but kenz loved every minute of it. it was fulfilling to be a part of the group & working towards making her dreams come true

getting an offer to sign with a label as notorious as revolution records was a true pinch me moment for the girl. she was eager to go big time & did her best to encourage her bandmates to do the same. the deal came with a price, though. executives highly suggested that the band take on a new frontman, a popular singer who was already signed with the label. they assured the band that it would only elevate their sound & popularity, though there was some hesitantency from the already established group

kenz in particular was torn by the proposition. for so long, she had acted as the lead singer & guitarist of the group. she wasn’t particularly showboat-y about her position, but it didn’t feel great to be so easily replaced with someone more popular & upbeat. it caused a newfound flurry of insecurities. but she pushed them aside & still vouched that it was a fair price to pay to be signed to one of the best labels in the world

it’s been an interesting transition with the newest addition to the group. their sound as changed slightly as a result, but the heart is still there. & kenz still loves what she does & loves that they can reach an even bigger audience now, opportunities coming out the wazoo now that the band is properly represented. she’s just finding a way to feel comfortable in her demoted position & trying to remain grateful despite it all

for personal sound/voice, i consider singers like aleesia cara & tinashe

personality-wise, she’s got a serious facade going on. growing up she was quiet, introverted, & considered anti-social by most. but she’s learned to put herself out there more through traversing the music scene & adapting to new york culture. it’s giving hannah montana-- kenz is like a persona that comes to life on stage. but kennedy is still that stand-offish girl who would rather stay in her room with her guitar than go out to any party

her social battery runs low quick, so she’s known for dipping early from gatherings or making up sorry excuses not to go all together. she’s also notoriously late to everything. it’s just how she is as a person, definitely not a diva thing, she just has terrible time management skills & refuses to take the necessary steps to work on it

incredibly evasive when it comes to the public knowing anything about her personal life. is prone to making up stories in interviews just to keep the truth from being known to the masses, or just supplying one word responses which force the person asking to just move on. she doesn’t like to be truly perceived, & likes to consider herself mysterious to fuel her main character of a coming of age movie complex

sharing music is her love language. will make you a dozen playlists as a means to expressing her deeper feelings

not very tech savvy & is hardly ever posting on social media. i imagine that the PR person for her & the band has to practically beg her to post anything for engagement purposes or just has kenz’s log in info to post on her behalf

outside of music, some of her interests are drawing, trying new foods, collecting vintage clothing, & petting bodega cats

* 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒 .

celeb crush ; i just think it would be funny if two artists had an ongoing thing were they don’t stop gushing about each other in public. just simply each other’s #1 fans. an interviewer asks who their celeb crush is & without hesitation they say each other. there’s compilations online of them “being in love for 5 minutes straight”. it could be a bit the two have come up with, actually being really good friends who think it’s amusing to mess with the media & fans. or maybe they actually don’t know each other well & it all started by one gushing without ever thinking the other would hear it

jam session buddy ; grab your favorite instrument & warm up your singing voice because we’re having a jam session babyyyy. just some homies playing music for the fun of it, probably shamelessly taking up one of the sound proof rooms at hq to play to their hearts’ content. if they’re both artists, maybe they swap instruments & play horrible renditions of each other’s songs. if the other is an employee, maybe kenz tries to teach them guitar or something. could be fun & wholesome

opposites attract ; according to all known laws of attraction, there is no way that these two should be friends. they seemingly don’t have anything in common & most take one look at them & think they’re an unlikely duo. this pair, of course, are friends anyway because they don’t care what anybody else thinks

rivals ; a little healthy competition never hurt nobody. they push each other to be better while sending glares at each other across the room. it’s a little silly to see each other as a threat, they basically play on the same team. but it’s kinda fun being adversaries just for the hell of it

muse ; kinda cheesy but kenz would totally be taken with someone, either she actually knows them well or is simply infatuated by the idea of them, & find herself writing lame fluffy poetry about them or dedicate lyrics & songs to them. in her head, at least. she’d probably never admit it aloud that they inspire the most soppy shit from her

sibling like relationship ; i am simply a sucker for this dynamic. the found family vibes with a hint of protectiveness & endless banter between two people that know each other like the back of their hand. gimme gimme the brotp of my dreams, thank you kindly

more ideas ; ride or die, ex - friend, confidant, crush ( in the present, the past, and/or unrequited ), mentor/mentee, exes on good terms, exes on bad terms, secret hook - up, social media friends, party buddies, bad influence, good influence, pr stunt ( affectionate or derogatory ), friends from home who knew her before the fame got to her head, idk how to describe but it’s a little awkward because they’ve definitely met before in passing but kenz seems to not have made a big enough impression because they keep introducing themselves to her like it’s the first time they met & she’s too nervous to correct them so she just lets it happen

Do you guys want some cursed knowledge?

So I was looking at etymologies for different characters in YuGiOhs names right? And like. Obviously Zorc comes up. The Necrophades part of his name is obvious, connections to being a God of Death, essentially or at the very least a lot of death happens in connedtion to him. But Zorc is not a real name to me.

Then I found out people do have it for a last name bc there's a former German soccer player whose last name is Zorc.

And ancestry of all places had a meaning and origin for the name;

So two things;

Zorc's name is essentially Aurora Dawn Deathdeath and that is the most 2000s fanfiction name I've ever heard in my goddamn life.

Zorc is a name very close to George of all things.
