hi ! i'm chase and i do just want to say before i get into this intro that i am super rusty .. i haven't rped in about four years and have also not been on tumblr in about two years on top of that, so please be patient with me when it comes to this new layout and relearning everything 🙏 anyways ! down below is a little bit about jonnie's background and personality, plus some plots !

jonnie grew up in new york city, he was born to a mother who was better off as a single mom considering his father was an abusive shitbag.

besides the obvious Daddy Issues, his mother was as good of a mother as she could've been for him. she worked multiple jobs to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table.

however, because of that, she wasn't home much and jonnie wanted to spend as little time as he could with his father. this meant he spent a lot of free time at his neighborhood's community center where he hung out with kids older than him that introduced him to The Cool Kid™️ music. this is where his passion for music really took off.

at age 10 he began to fuck around on the center's rickety old drum kit and would perform for anyone who would listen. of course he wasn't good, but that never stopped him. music and learning it was an escape and freedom he'd never felt before and that was something he realized he didn't want to give up.

as he aged, he spent less and less time at home. enough to the point he was even estranged from his mother whom he loved more than anyone else.

personally, he never found anything wrong with it, he wanted freedom from a place he wasn't safe in, so by the time he was 16, he was completely moved out of his parents' place and couch surfing through his friends for the remaining years of high school.

school wasn't necessarily his strong suit, he wasn't Bad per say, but he just had a huge lack of focus because as a teenager struggling to stay afloat without any support, there was a lot more on his mind than doing the best he could. which basically means he didn't apply himself nearly as much as he probably should have.

despite the lack of any sort of structure or support in his life, he still managed to somehow weasel his way into university .. but only for a year or so before he dropped out, realizing pursuing something that wasn't music never felt right to him.

after dropping out he worked at a shitty deli getting yelled at by white soccer moms for not putting enough arugula on their sandwich.

every other second, he was working on music whether alone or with the band.

he hasn't spoken to his parents since he moved out, his mother has tried to reach out to him on multiple occasions, but his excuse is he's busy when in reality he's not Ready to face that shit.

jonnie is an extremely easygoing dude, he's never one to take something too seriously and is definitely the type to know absolutely nothing about anything

he's pretty oblivious ? mainly because he's stoned 80% of the time and he also hates thinking .. coping mechanism 💪

THE CORNER STONE OF MONARCHS

compared to the others in monarchs elise has a gentler personality. they consider themselves to be the anchor of the band. the level head, the voice of reason when everything seems to go to shit. it seems elise is just seen as the girl on the side with the keyboards more than anything. though despite that she never complains and plays their part well. the keys depending on how they're implemented can either clash with the music or create something harmonious . elise would consider themselves to be one of those more sensitive players. she doesn't just bang keys and notes to see whatever works, instead she plays it by feeling. getting a feel for the song and trying to work with it rather than against it .although to the fans elise may seem as unimportant her keys are another part of what brings monarchs their unique sound. the way it brings out another color and life to the song to contrast against roxie's vocals. while most of the time they are seen on the far side of the stage with their keyboard elise has much more talent to offer. besides being the band's primary keyboardist elise can also play guitar, write lyrics, and even contribute backing vocals. in this way she's seen as the hidden gem of the band. and while she is more than content with her role in monarchs there is a part of them that often years for more. though there's this fear, not many people make it after splitting from their band. plus she's not as charismatic or charming as roxie. in their eyes it would never work. with all their drama and scandal the music makes it worth it. with their fourth album in the works elise wonders how much time until everything bursts again.

growing  up,  aaron  always  knew  he  wanted  to  be  in  the  music  industry.  watching  his  father  work  rather  it  be  at  home  or  (  on  the  rare  occasion  )  at  the  studio  inspired  him  to  take  a  chance  down  the  same  path.  but  his  father  wasn’t  having  it,  instead  wanting  him  to  have  a  more  “stable”  career  while  music  sat  on  the  backburner.

he  reluctantly  agreed  --  not  left  with  much  of  a  choice  since  the  man  was  putting  him  through  college  debt  free.  now  a  sophomore  attending  berkeley  with  an  undeclared  major,  aaron  realized  he  only  had  one  life  and  was  going  to  make  the  most  of  it  no  matter  what.  so  he  put  together  a  band  with  some  college  friends  and  decided  to  test  the  water.

their  name  was  ON  THE  FLOOR,  and  had  a  dance  pop-punk  sound  that  was  meant  to  have  people  dancing  on  the  floor  and  letting  go  of  all  their  worries.  they  began  posting  videos  on  youtube  and  was  soon  playing  very  small  gigs  which  led  them  to  being  locally  known.

yet  his  ambition  of  proving  his  father  wrong  outweighed  his  education.  late  night  "promoting”  --  which  was  really  just  him  partying  with  other  up  and  coming  musicians  --  resulted  in  barely  showing  up  to  classes,  and  the  times  he  did  show,  he  wore  sunglasses  and  complained  before  leaving.  his  grades  dropped  drastically  and  soon  he  was  kicked  off  campus  whilst  the  other  members  were  still  enrolled.

aaron  thought  this  was  a  sacrifice  willing  to  be  made  for  the  group’s  future.  so  he  spent  his  free  time  trying  to  get  a  contract  deal  behind  his  father’s  back,  all  the  while  using  his  friends  as  a  coverup  for  school.  things  were  going  fine  up  until  they  booked  a  decent  gig  at  a  well  known  club.  the  whole  night  was  filled  with  small  mishaps :  their  mics  being  faulty,  some  of  the  sound  equipment  messing  up  but  overall  things  were  going  fine!  that  was  before  some  asshole  began  provoking  them  after  their  set  which  resulted  into  a  physical  altercation  and  them  getting  arrested.  

his  father  soon  learned  everything  and  man,  he  was  not  happy.  but  he  saw  the  ambition  aaron  held  and  gave  him  a  deadline.  he  had  a  year  to  make  things  work  or  else  he  has  to  give  the  group  up.  this  seemed  easy  to  do,  but  with  the  others  now  being  juniors  and  having  to  focus  on  their  own  studies,  it  wasn’t  long  before  everyone  just  said  screw  it  and  had  split  up.  (  also  aaron  did  fight  with  another  member  and  threatened  to  sue  in  case  they  ever  used  his  songs  without  him  soo ...  )

years  went  by,  and  aaron  had  nothing  left  to  his  name  outside  of  the  track  record  of  getting  kicked  out  of  clubs  and  the  many  partners  he  slept  with.  soon  this  led  his  father  into  getting  him  a  job  as  a  personal  assistant  to  a  friend  who  needed  one  at  revolution  records.  and  that’s  where  his  new  journey  began!

aaron  considered  himself  as  the  pillar  of  the  band.  he  supplied  the  name,  he  paid  for  the  studio  sessions,  he  made  quite  a  few  of  their  more  favorable  tracks.  he  felt  more  important  than  everyone  else  which  was  another  issue  discussed  during  the  messy  meeting  soon  turned  disbandment.

biography.

in what can only be called a stroke of luck, beyza was born as the fourth and last child to the kilic family in manchester, england. to parents who early on taught her that there was nothing quite as important as family. she never lacked anything really, the apple of the eye to not only her parents but also her siblings, never lacking attention for all of the small performances she put on for them. if there was one thing beyza knew from the moment she was born it was that she wanted to be a star. a shining star, so bright she'd outdo all the stars in the sky. so despite her rough skills, her family had to endure endless musical and theatrical performances, with beyza in the starring role. often she'd convince her next older sister to join her in her endeavors, the other inhabitants of the kilic household always had a hard time saying no to their youngest and her dark eyes, shining in excitement.

as it had to be, beyza held on to her dreams of stardom until her teenage years. playing many a starring roles in school musicals. finally, at 16, she once more convinced her older sister to put on an act with her, for a casting show. they got rather far on that show, being the publics favorite but not quite managing to win in the finale. while beyza was heartbroken, fate still had a few surprises in store for her. and so, a bbc producer soon got in touch with the family, explaining they were interested of sending beyza and her sister to the esc with a song they had already picked. apparently it would suit their youthful charme perfectly, they were looking for somebody who could portray the vibe of the song to perfection. while beyza's parents and her sister were slightly uncertain about the whole proposal, beyza was immediately convinced. at now 17, she could imagine no better way to kickstart her music career than being seen on a stage by the entirety of europe. as per usual, beyza eventually got what she wanted and both sisters were off to the esc.

while their performance was flawless, from the choreographed dance to the harmonies, the song was - well, rather ridiculous to be rather honest. some would say it was so bad it was good in a way, and they did end up landing their spot in the hall of fame of truly iconically bad esc entries. however, what it wasn't was the kickstart to her career she had imagined it to be. instead, beyza came back home and to school only to here endless ridicule about their act. while she managed to hold her head high and not give in to their words, for the first time she feld her believe in her dream waver a little. what if she wasn't supposed to be a star after all ? what was she without that dream ?

having finished school, beyza and her sister still tried to make it work as a sibling duo. they were making your classic brit pop, often combined with rather extensive dancing routines. however, they never made it further than the local radio shows or occasional morning shows - mostly still riding on their questionable esc fame. knowing full well that music might not ever be able to sustain her, beyza also got into uni to attain a degree in theatrical and media makeup, an interest she had picked up, since it had always been at the periphery of her industry work. at 21 beyza started feeling really discouraged, it was around that time that her parents realized it was getting to her to a worrying degree, trying to encourage her to perhaps focus on uni more so than anything esle. however, things only got worse. out of seemingly nowhere, a reputable record label contacted them. while the brunette was over the moon, feeling closer to her dreams than ever before for only a second, she soon realized that they were only interested in signing her sister as a solo artist.

this had always been beyza's big dream, her dragging her sister into it more than anything else. still, she knew it had become her older sister's dream somewhere along the way as well. she also knew it was highly unlikely for them to ever get a chance like this one again. and so, she told her sister to sign. heart heavy and the smile on her face about as forced as it could be, she still wished only the best for her. she had just finished her degree and suddenly life felt painfully empty but still, she tried to hide it behind her broad smile she'd usually sport. she was working, mostly on set for different tv shows. somehow close to her dreams, yet so far away. sometimes people would recognize her from their esc performance and she'd smile and make a half-hearted joke about just how bad their song had been. if she'd make them herself nobody else would get the chance to laugh at her shattered dreams.

it wasn't until she took the chance and visited her brother, who had moved to nyc a while ago, that beyza realized how toxic remaining in her home environment had been for her. for the month she went to visit him, she felt more alive than she had in a long time. with a lot of encouragement from emre (her brother) and ultimately her parents as well, a 22 year old beyza decided to apply for jobs in new york city - among many others one of her applications went to her brother's place of work: revolution records. she hadn't estimated her chances to be very good but somehow her portfolio as well as first impression during the interview must have convinced them. the most memorable thing to beyza being one of the revolution employees telling her they considered her to be especially qualified due to her experience in the industry - it had been a while since she'd been able to look at that with any degree of positivity.

at this point she's been working for revolution for three years and couldn't be happier with her job. while sometimes she still wonders how her life would have looked like if she'd been the one on stage, instead of behind the scenes. still, she finds a lot of gratification at working in the industry. she also simply likes the feeling of making people feel comfortable and confident to go on stage, working on visual concepts with them and having an open ear for artists and her co-workers. she'd often go on tour with some of the artists and over the last two years she's additionally build up a sizeable social media presence. starting out with critiques of celebrity makeup looks on tiktok, she has transitioned into making makeup related content on both youtube and tiktok, sometimes inviting along some revolution friends. viewers of her content really enjoy both her insights into the industry and true professionalism and beyza enjoys getting to share some tips and stories and perhaps the opportunity of being known to some part of the public for something positive once more.

a band/artist she's recently went on tour with - we can talk about fun things that might have happened on tour ? generally beyza would probably closely work with them, often on their team so i imagine their would be some degree of closeness. or not at all ? this can be dramatic in some way or wholesome, let's talk about it.

besties - genuinely, beyza is a very very friendly person and i'd love to find her a solid group of friends here. they can travel together, brunch on sundays, constantly sending each other memes and laugh and cry about all their shared stories. honestly, just give me wholesome ride or dies here because beyza would literally do anything for her friends.

ex (open for all genders) - they got into a relationship after beyza started at revolution. maybe it was a bit head over heels, maybe it's not actually too smart to date at work. however, they were both utterly smitten by each other and somehow convinced they'd make it work. depending on who this person is, i'd like for us to figure out some solid reasons why it didn't work out. kinda imagine it would be more the circumstances, than compatability. maybe because beyza has to go on tour with artists sometimes it was too long distance, maybe there is some sort of difficult public perception thing if they're an artist ? there is a lot of room for creativity here as well.

uncomfortable strangers - they don't really know each other, only see each other occasionally at the company. ur muse is an artist and beyza always thinks they're looking at her strangely. maybe they really do, maybe it's just beyza's bad conciousness because she once gave a scathing review to a makeup look they wore. have they truly seen it or is beyza just imagining this tension? who knows.

aside from that i would love to see somebody beyza perhaps has a one-sided crush on (or the other way around), soembody she's in a fun sort of flirtationship with, someone who constantly asks her for makeup advice, an aerial yoga buddy, a bad influence, an artist/band she really admires and basically anything we can come up with. give me all of them * grabby hands *.

father left when he was pretty young, raised entirely by his mother. he’s quite close to her and his older sister. all in all he had a decent childhood filled with happiness and love despite his father’s absence. 

discovered his love for music at a pretty early age, he was always just a musical kid. as he grew into his teens, he got into producing and composing his own songs. he dreamed of one day becoming a singer or a hit producer. 

alas though !  dreams don’t always come true. greyson’s certainly didn’t. thus he’s ended up working as a measly front desk worker at revolution records, while he dreams of becoming more.

i  don’t  have  a  lot  figured  out  so . . .    tl;dr !   parker’s  parents  are  rich.   dad  is  a  bigshot  ceo,  mom  was  a  singer,  so  everything  was  handed  to  him  on  a  silver  platter.    they  wanted  everything  for  their  kids,   which  meant,   setting  them  up  for  success.   for  parker,  it  was  music.   due  to  connections,  his  parents  tried  to  mold  him  into  the  next  child  star  —   endless  sing  and  dance  lessons,  coming  up  with  an  image,  all  to  put  him  in  a  group  with  6  pre-teens  and  formed  a  backstreet  boys  esque  boy  band  that  aimed  to  steal  the  hearts  of  young  girls.

sadly,  that  only  lasted  for  about  a  year.   the  music  was  good,  but  behind  the  scenes,  the  band  was  in  shambles.   no  one  really  wanted  to  be  there,  since,  they  were  all  put  in  the  same  predicament:   appeasing  to  their  parents’  wants  and  needs.    being  together  felt  forced.   so,  after  the  fall  of  this  boy  band  (  i  don’t  have  a  name  for  this  group  yet  LMAO  )  everything  came  to  an  end.   parker  wanted  to  live  a  regular  life,  despite  his  parents’  wishes,  and  went  to  a  public  high  school  to  find  himself.

he  was  always  considered  an  outsider  in  his  family,  or  the  black  sheep.  the  ‘rich  lifestyle’  was  never  his  thing.   he  never  really  saw  himself  as  a  dela  cruz,  but  just  parker.   him  and  his  parents  constantly  clashed,  up  until  a  point  where  he  had  enough.   words  were  said,  things  were  done,  to  the  point  where  parker  decided  it  was  best  for  him  to  cut  family  ties  and  leave.   so  when  he  was  17  he  moved  out,  picked  up  late-night  shifts  at  the  gas  station,  and  waited  to  finish  high  school.

delaney lu – where to begin? the second child of the incomparable mei lu, star of the stage and screen. okay, star of one soap opera that lasted five years in the late '80s - early '90s. in reality, a good actress who decided she hated los angeles and moved back home to san francisco when the show imploded and abruptly ended. soap opera tapings were replaced with leading roles in eccentric local productions and one-of-a-kind one woman shows in historic bay area theatres.

perhaps even more than she committed herself to the stage, mei committed herself to motherhood. she supplied her children with her own surname rather than their fathers' and made it crystal clear that half-siblings were siblings just the same as any other. there was never a doubt in anyone’s mind. their three fathers were never in the picture, but it left mei to run the most camp, free-spirited, and ridiculous household a kid could ask for.

each of the siblings had their own specialty interests (obsessions) and expertise, and delaney's was clear from day one : everything music and making a whole lot of noise. delaney's homemade drumkits went a lot further than pots and pans, but the dream was an actual drum set. it's no wonder they hardly cared about anything else after they got their first real kit. from that day on, they were a neighbor's worst nightmare. and proud of it.

☆ when he was thirteen , his family moved to tennessee . at fourteen , to georgia . they moved again when he was sixteen , but this time to austin , texas . it was in austin, at some point, in time where oliver first started to take music more seriously.

☆ growing up , he'd played folk music with his family in maine . he'd learned how to sing and play guitar at an early age , probably around 9 . in georgia , he'd had a small group with some school friends -- but they weren't very good . in tennessee , however , is where he'd first picked up the fiddle in another small band .

☆ although it wasn't until texas that oliver actually started to get good at any of these. during his time there, he'd also expanded past music. oliver was on the football team, having played briefly the year before in georgia, although this time, as the quarterback.

☆ college football scouts were always coming to games and his coaches would insist they were only for him . scholarships and college opportunities poured his way in his senior year , but that wasn't his passion . his little country folk band that played on weekends in his garage or at small local venues with crowds of tens of people just trying to enjoy their meal or their beer was his real passion . besides , school was never really the easiest for him , music was . he figured he'd be unhappy at tradtional college and especially having to play football all four years .

growing  up  ,  yulia’s  parents  made  sure  she  was  never  aware  of  their  struggles  —  and  struggle  they  did  ,  especially  for  the  first  few  years  of  her  life  .  it  started  with  her  father  being  laid  off  after  an  injury  left  him  unable  to  work  ,  leaving  them  with  no  choice  but  to  put  what  should’ve  been  their  forever  home  up  for  sale  just  before  yulia  was  born  .  he  was  eventually  able  to  find  a  desk  job  but  the  pay  was  minimal  at  best  and  because  her  mother  was  newly  postpartum  at  the  time  ,  he  insisted  she  didn’t  work  .

it  was  around  this  time  that  yulia  started  posting  singing  covers  to  youtube  ,  ranging  from  ballads  like  i  have  nothing  and  a  natural  woman  to  r&b  classics  like  4  page  letter  and  next  lifetime  .  she  gained  a  decent  amount  of  viewers  from  it  but  it  wasn’t  until  after  she’d  graduated  that  her  dad  recorded  her  singing  an  original  song  at  an  open  mic  night  .  after  he  convinced  her  to  post  it  ,  things  really  took  a  turn  .

first  deal.

she  was  in  her  sophomore  year  of  college  when  the  video  her  dad  posted  blew  up  .  it  started  doing  numbers  online  and  was  shared  around  more  than  she  ever  expected  so  it  was  surprise  to  no  one  but  her  when  she  was  approached  by  a  reputable  label  .  she  attended  a  few  very  long  meetings  ,  met  with  a  few  different  lawyers  ,  and  after  one  final  emotionally  charged  meeting  ,  yulia  was  signing  her  first  record  deal  .

things  were  great  until  they  weren’t  .  she  got  to  write  her  own  songs  and  record  them  ,  had  a  large  role  in  preparing  for  her  first  few  shows  and  eventually  a  tour  but  yulia  learned  the  hard  way  that  it  was  all  too  much  too  fast  .  going  from  a  girl  that  blended  into  a  crowd  by  choice  to  being  on  stage  in  front  of  thousands  of  people  was  something  she  wasn’t  prepared  for  .

what  started  as  stage  fright  before  every  show  turned  into  her  popping  a  pill  or  two  to  calm  her  nerves  .  being  able  to  get  through  a  concert  without  having  a  panic  attack  and  without  feeling  high  led  her  to  believe  she  had  it  under  control  .  little  did  she  know  ,  the  people  around  her  saw  an  opportunity  and  ran  with  it  .  a  pill  dropped  into  a  coffee  here  ,  a  little  alcohol  mixed  with  soda  there  and  without  even  realizing  it  ,  yulia  had  become  addicted  .

it  wasn’t  until  she  was  visiting  her  parents  right  after  completing  her  first  tour  that  she  finally  realizes  something  was  wrong  .  her  parents  question  her  about  her  apparent  change  in  attitude  and  yulia  admits  she  used  to  take  pills  to  help  with  anxiety  .  however  ,  after  learning  she’d  stopped  doing  so  just  weeks  after  she  started  ,  her  mom  requested  she  get  tested  just  in  case  .  

what  came  next  was  a  long  list  of  things  yulia  never  imagined  she’d  have  to  deal  with  so  early  into  her  career  ,  or  ever  for  that  matter  .  first  she  checked  herself  into  rehab  ,  having  realized  she  was  actually  addicted  to  the  stuff  she  thought  she’d  stopped  taking  long  ago  .  when  she  was  released  ,  she  spent  months  getting  out  of  her  contract  with  her  label  and  while  she  was  eventually  successful  in  doing  so  ,  she  wasn’t  able  to  gain  rights  to  her  music  (  something  she’s  still  fighting  for  even  today  )  .  the  whole  situation  was  thankfully  kept  out  of  the  media  ,  partially  because  her  lawyer  threatened  lawsuits  against  anyone  who  spoke  about  it  and  partially  because  the  label  didn’t  want  the  bad  press  .

at  twenty  two  ,  yulia  had  already  been  through  the  ringer  .  she’d  spent  months  in  rehab  ,  had  seen  the  inside  of  a  courtroom  more  than  she’d  ever  planned  to  in  her  life  ,  continued  to  struggle  with  addiction  despite  being  clean  .  however  ,  she  managed  to  graduate  from  college  with  a  degree  and  high  honors  ,  all  while  writing  and  recording  the  most  personal  songs  she’d  ever  made  .

her  self  titled  sophomore  album  was  released  independently  ,  to  the  surprise  of  everyone  .  it  was  well  received  ,  old  fans  and  new  ones  appreciating  how  raw  it  sounded  compared  to  her  first  album  .  shortly  after  the  release  ,  yulia  was  contacted  by  someone  from  revolution  about  possibly  signing  a  deal  and  while  she  was  hesitant  at  first  ,  so  much  so  that  she  didn’t  give  them  an  answer  until  a  month  later  ,  she  eventually  decided  it’d  be  good  for  her  .

originally,  back  in  march  2005,  cai  had  just  signed  a  five  year  contract  with  revolution  records  with  three  other  female(s) / nb  to  form  the  girl  group  that  became  known  as  D4L.  

the  group  had  a  sound  similar  to  danity  kane  and  the  pussycat  dolls  and  stayed  a  group  until  2010.  there  were  differences  between  the  members  that  consisted  mainly  over  line  distribution,  solo  promotions,  and  favorites  being  played  when  it  came  to  styling  and  much  more.  among  the  four,  two  of  them  (  cai  &&.  redacted  )  would  go  on  to  continue  as  solo  artists  while  the  others  did  their  own  thing.  

cai’s  solo  career  in  the  beginning  was  going  great!  by  2014,  she  had  released  3  successful  albums  and  featured  on  many  magazine  covers.  things  were  looking  up  for  her  until  2015  when  she  was  on  a  talk  show  and  basically  threw  shade  towards  her  ex  members  by  referring  to  herself  as  the  “more  important  member.”

this  was  just  the  beginning  of  her  downfall.  people  would  call  her  immature  and  unprofessional  which  would  illicit  some  ...  not  so  nice  responses  in  the  form  of  an  instagram  paragraph.  whenever  she  felt  like  she  deserved  an  award  or  a  performer  slot  for  an  event,  she’d  rant  about  it  on  a  live  and  basically  called  out  the  “least  memorable”  artist  saying  they  lacked  stage  presence,  or  something  like  that.  she’s  ridiculous  LMAOO.

it  was  2020  :   cai  decided  to  release  a  comeback  album  after  her  hiatus  in  music  and  it  was  a  nice  commercial  hit!  it  charted  at  #9  on  charts  such  as  billboard  but  was  a  good  return.  then  came  her  live  performance  and  ...  it  was  not  great.

lip-syncing,  barely  dancing,  etc  etc.  the  entire  show  was  a  mess,  and  her  pr  manager  had  a  field  day  trying  to  clear  her  name  but  there  was  no  escaping  this.

since  then  her  music  career  has  taken  a  major  hit.  not  many  bookings,  and  she’s  constantly  trending  online  for  the  wrong  reasons.  however,  she  does  dress  impress  which  is  the  best  thing  going  for  her  right  now.

bastien doesn’t come from a particularly musical background. growing up, he was really more of an artsy kid — the kind with paint-stained fingertips and crosshatch doodles in his notebooks; who hung out at art supply stores after school and bought pens and watercolours just because they were pretty. he picked up a bass for the first time in middle school and learned to sing for a girl he had a crush on, and he only continued with it on account of his more musically-inclined childhood friends deciding to start a lil band in high school. and while these days he does love making music and being with his bandmates more than anything, bastien has a sort of lingering impostor syndrome about it — like he’s only here because his friends are the talented ones, and he’s just lucky enough to come along for the ride. the source of that feeling probably comes from the fact that he couldn’t hack it at art school. it was always his passion, and getting into a good college out of state for it, despite his somewhat poor grades, was a dream come true — but three semesters in, he just… couldn’t do it anymore. classes were hard. fitting in was hard. being away from home was hard. the stress and anxiety led to him dropping out before the end of his first year, after which he just… went home. drifted around. babysat his younger siblings. worked a bunch of part-time jobs (including as a barista, a climbing gym attendant, a waiter, a flyer distributor and a stationery shop clerk). for all his insecurities, however, bastien’s always projected a soft sort of confidence: bright like sunshine and just as warm, incurably friendly and openly affectionate. while he does still have some “bummer feelings” (as he puts it) about being a college dropout, it’s easy for him to put it aside most days, especially if he has other things to focus on. most of the time, that’s the people around him — bastien’s an extrovert who feels most comfortable when he’s surrounded by his favourite human beings, and he tends to follow them around with all the eager adoration of an energetic puppy. so when his childhood friends eventually filtered on back home from their respective post-high school plans, he jumped at the opportunity to bring them all together again. and when the idea of starting up the band again began floating around, he didn’t really have any reservations. pursuing it seriously hadn’t really been the goal, then — it was just something fun for them all to do; go to open mics and play a few gigs as a fun thing to do together, just like when they were kids. he ended up taking it so much more seriously this time around, though. maybe it was because he didn’t want to feel like the weak link. or maybe it was because he hadn’t realised how much he still needed a creative outlet after he’d started setting art aside. but the bass — and the band — quickly became a prominent part of his life in the three years that soon came and went. …and when those three years culminated in a signed record deal with revolution? well, just maybe, it felt like a second chance for him to do this whole ‘growing up’ thing right.

speaking of — he very much has a tendency to get restless. he’s a fidgety sort, always bouncing a leg or fiddling with something on his hands. try to hold one limb down and a different one starts vibrating. 

oldest of five kids, and so despite his carefree, almost careless disposition, he does also have a bit of a “big brother” vibe. protective. playful. an instinctive caregiver, and a lot more diligent/gentle about it than you might think.

he got himself his first apartment after sleepy city riot signed with revolution records, though he still visits his parents’ home often. known for having a “plant of the week” because he likes the idea of houseplants but can’t seem to keep them alive.

not the tallest boy at 5’8”, but his build and confident oddball charm have a tendency to make people assume he’s bigger than he is when they first see him in photos. 

despite having set art aside on the professional scale, bastien still can’t quite separate himself from it. he doodles all the time (on napkins, on music sheets, on his shoes). his bass guitar is heavily sticker-bombed. he folds origami animals and then sneaks them in his friends’ pockets. he hasn’t felt brave enough to touch a canvas in years, but he’ll always have a lil bit of an artsy streak. 

has a driver’s license, but has historically preferred to take public transport or to bike (he has a fixie he pretty much rides everywhere). the band’s growing fame and recognition hasn’t yet been an issue for him in this.

according to social media and the opinion of the general public, baz is a massive himbo. between the golden retriever energy and the obvious lack of academic interest, it’s not a hard label to stick on him. and sure, he may not be the sharpest knife in the… place where you keep the knives, and he may be beefier than your average bass player on account of the climbing, and he’s goofy and overexcitable and clumsy with words, but… hm. there was supposed to be a point in here somewhere.

far-sighted, so he has reading glasses (that he doesn’t often use, because he doesn’t often read…). the font size on his phone is also comically big because he has to hold it over a foot away to see anything on it.

friends. his bandmates obviously fall under this category, first and foremost, but baz is a naturally friendly person who seeks out the company of others, and so friends (or at the very least, people he considers to be his friends; their own opinions may vary) come easy to him. he's a highly affectionate and expressive sort, if a bit flighty, and is very likely to claim someone he met two seconds ago is his new favourite person.

celebrity crush. another person in the industry, possibly of greater fame, that bastien is just head-over-heels starstruck for. maybe they're a fellow bassist, or maybe they're part of a genre so far removed from scr's yet he can't help but swoon over them anyway. he's very likely to be drawn to people with incredible presence, both on-stage and off, and will display his usual over-the-top energy with an extra dose of fumbling over his words and his footing around them.

sibling-like relationship. gimme that sweet sweet sibling dynamic!! baz, as the eldest in a family of five kids, has spent a great deal of time being a responsible big brother when needed, and would happily adopt that role with others. that said, i think it could also be really sweet if he found someone that likes to treat him like their younger brother, and exasperatedly puts up with him being playful and childish while still being a lil endeared and protective toward him. bickering optional, but adored.

born as jeong soojin in seoul, her life has always been predetermined by her last name, her family. she was the first child of her rather prominent parents, alongside her twin brother and both of them grew up surrounded by wealth, learning a second language by the age they were four and a third one from age nine. generally, their parents tried their best to give them everything you were supposed to give a child in order for it to develop promisingly. if raising a child were similar to a math equation that is. the only thing that they were missing, that no money or good intentions could afford them, was privacy. being one of the children of the ceo of a successful real estate company and a prominent politician meant they were always somewhat in the eye of the public. not enough to constantly be of relevance to the media but enough for any missteps to find an audience. 

making mistakes was never an option. failure not in her vocabulary as she grew up and became the over-achiever her parents had always hoped for. she was on top of her class ever since starting school and later on became not only student body president in her high school but also picked up all the right hobbies. playing the violin, horseback riding, fencing - excelling in apparently everything she touched. all the success came with a price though, the rigorous self-discipline, the complete disregard of her actual nature. inside all she felt was emptiness and that emptiness was only replaced by burning, raging anger. when she was thirteen, her blood absolutely boiling with unbridled rage, she became violent towards a classmate of hers. an incident that didn’t cause a big scandal solely because once she got home, bloody fists and all, her parents immediately paid off both the parents of said classmate as well as the members of the press who had heard of the story. everything was kept under tight wraps but it was clear there was an issue, a problem, with the golden child. therefore, she was brought to therapy, diagnosed with anger management issues and recommended to pick up a hobby that might help her with her situation. among the provided examples was drumming, something soojin would have never been allowed previously but that soon became her favorite thing to do. 

in the end, graduating with stellar results was no issue, if one thing came relatively easy to her it was academic success. still, however, she felt empty inside. felt caged in this life she had never picked yet never really tried to fight either. that was until now, when she could finally convince her parents to let her study abroad. embellishing her arguments with how impressive it would look on her CV and how it would help both her cultural and language education, she was allowed to leave the country and therefore also her parents’ and the press’ watchful eyes. she started her bachelors in architecture at ucla, actually quite passionate about the subject but she also didn’t lose sight of another thing she felt passionate about: drumming. ever since she got to the us, she changed her name to dawn, affording herself further anonymity and has finally become her own person. style, chaotic flatshare, political views and all. together with, what would soon become her two closest friends, she created the band r.a.d. about three years ago.

for a long time they were a small underground group, playing feminist punk rock was after all not truly what would catapult you into a life of stardom, or at least that is what they thought. however, after over two years of playing a lot of dingey bars, one of their songs gained some notoriety on tik tok, becoming what you might call a feminine rage hymn. with that hit song under their belt, they were approached by several record labels. dawn never felt inclined to sign, for her life was easier this way. nobody to tell them what direction to take with their music, absolute freedom. she would simply bankroll them herself. but when revolution records approached them and considering her existence of living in between the two worlds might come with an expiry date, rad agreed to sign. it gave them a sense of financial security, while also preserving their artistic freedom. for revolution, they moved across the country where now dawn is finishing up her bachelors degree mostly online.  

headcanons.

character wise she quite controlling and reckless, which can be difficult for social interactions, especially since she is absolutely unwilling to compromise in her ideals or to admit defeat. has absolutely no issue with telling people just how wrong she thinks they are. on the other hand, she has quite the dry sense of humor, can be incredibly charming if she wishes so.

is having the time of her life ever since she joined rad, she is now dressing completely different than she used to at home.  she has also started expressing her own thoughts and opinions a lot... most would say too much.

THESTORY .

The result of an on and off relationship, with his existence scaring away his “father ”, Rune came to be.

This did not mean that Rune was any less loved, if anything the opposite. He grew up showered in affection by his mother, and the pair have grown to become extremely close.

Not much happened in the early years of Rune’s life, he was a quiet boy that always did as he was told, and kept himself out of trouble. Living a peaceful and comfortable life.

Just think of that kid that was invited to parties out of pity, but he never even needed it.

That being said, fast forward ten years and the family were packing their bags to make a home elsewhere.

After taking up a promotion, Rune’s mother was requested to move herself (and her family) to New York. And with a go ahead from her son, she accepted the opportunity.

It was a culture shock for Rune, he didn’t know the language nor how things worked in such a foreign place. And it took him a while to settle.

Despite taking extra classes to learn English, Rune still fell behind in school and was struggling to make friends with others. It was difficult for the young boy.

He found more comfort in his books and his shyness only became security for him to retreat in to.

Rune’s mother was thriving, on the other hand, her new job had a much larger wage packet than her previous and she had settled into her new position with ease.

It was with her happiness that brought Rune reassurance, the knowledge that things will improve for him too.

Just one year later and she had met a potential love interest. And two years following that and they were living together. Rune had, of course, approved of this.

Rune and his mother’s partner had an amicable relationship, not quite friends, but the young boy was welcoming. And in return, his mother’s partner, made an effort.

Rune had settled more into his new life, English now more comfortable for him to speak, and his work approving alongside this advancement.

Began writing poetry, inspired from reading different pieces of literature. Admittedly, was not very good at first, but with practice he got better.

Eventually began participating in competitions, and even won a few prizes.

Rune had been learning instruments since he was young, enrolled in classes from mother. Merging his musical abilities with written word, song lyrics were formed and Rune had found something to pursue.

He still missed Bangkok and occasionally wondered what life would be if he had stayed there, but he was finally happy.

When his grandmother fell ill, Rune’s mother was forced to move back to Bangkok to help care for her.

The decision to follow his mother or stay was presented to him, as he was in the midst of applying for record labels. With his heart set on Revolution Records, he made the difficult decision to stay.

Upon signing to Revolution Records, Rune was able to stay in a fellow labelmates place. He began working hard towards success, aspirations driving him to perform well. Time taken up with work and practice.

Rune learnt that his Grandmother had passed. He visited Bangkok to attend the funeral, but returned back afterwards. However, his mother and her partner remained, with concerns for Rune’s grandfather.

Since, he has moved into an apartment with more privacy. Becoming more independent as the years progress.

He works hard and practices even harder, but tries to keep some form of social life on the side. He has made some friends over the years, fortunately, and has now made a home for himself in New York.

Rune is excited for what the future holds, and is comfortable in his routine.
