Sally is back where she belongs!
The goldfish tank by my computer desk sprung a leak a few weeks ago. Luckily I discovered it before much harm was done to the surrounding area, but poor Sally had to make a hasty move to a 10-gallon tank in the kitchen. She didn’t like the cramped digs, but she was okay until the new tank and stand were delivered and set up, and tonight she finally got to go back “home.”
She’s been swooping and diving nonstop since she got in the new tank, and seems really happy. (And yes, after having over thirty goldfish in twenty-one years, I know enough carp body language to tell when they are happy!)

A 26-year-old Kiwi is being fingered as the culprit behind the killing of Sydney’s most beloved fish.
Divers and locals alike have been left distraught after the decades-old protected blue groper was speared by a fisherman in front of beachgoers inside a marine reserve.
Kind of embarrassing, but this actually made me tear up a little. The fact that the community was so excited over a fish, something that doesn’t usually fall into the category of “charismatic species” that the public cares about, and it was so well-loved and had a name, and then died in such a sad manner?

yesterday I put my eclipse glasses on over the top part of my regular glasses so I could look up at the sky through the filters but also look down and still be able to see where I was walking and I said “I’m an anableps anableps!” and no one knew what I was talking about

Hey! The personal art train has been incredibly slow lately due to me being absolutely swamped by commission work this past month (thank you so much everyone!), but I’ve been chipping away at some design tweaks for Austri here and finally finished them today :D I told myself that I wasn’t going to do a full sheet, and then promptly changed my mind once it started going well xD I swear these sheets only get longer, haha!
I think the first version of her design was perfectly serviceable as it was so I didn’t change a ton here, but I felt I could give her better overall shapes and commit more fully to the jellyfish inspiration, particularly with her hat. Her first ref sheet was from 2019, so she was due for an update anyway. She’s somehow even more adorable than before :’D Enjoy!
