one of the most interesting things about spencer reid as a character is the way the writers CONSISTENTLY draw comparisons of unsubs to him
#it’s so so interesting#i hate the prison arc i think it sucks but when you contextualize it with that in mind#it becomes so important to understanding his character#i think a lot about how the whole thing with cat and she wanted to push him to his limit in prison and him be just as bad as she is#she says that he can never come back from the things he’s done#and his ‘watch me’ i think about that SO OFTEN#bc THAT is his character#i think he recognizes he COULD be an unsub if he wanted to#and the main reason he isn’t isn’t bc it’s not ‘in his nature’ it’s bc he makes a conscious choice to be better#sometimes. the writers are good.
