I've been a huge fan since the beginning of 2000. Justin Hawkins is an extraordinary artist and always delivers an epic show. Stay tuned for my review and gallery....
What a steal! The case is broken but I’ll just buy a replacement. They actually had at least two other Permission To Lands in the box but i didn’t have time 2 look 4 them once I realized mine is broken. Come 2 think abt it; all the 99c cds were prob broken but that is still great. New cases are like $1.5; with tax the total should still b under $3 AND it’s shiny ★💓★💓★💓★
Being at the Taylor Hawkins tribute show was the best experience of my fucking life. Being right at the front and seeing how Taylor managed to bring all of these people together even in death..wow. I'm still in awe. I just got out and I came right here to put my feelings down because I don't want them to escape me. Seeing so many of my idols up there, celebrating the life of one of my other idols, was just.. indescribably incredible. They all looked so fucking proud of Taylor and everything he's done, wow. Honestly seeing literally 4 generations up on that stage was so incredible!!? When Bri came up to the front..he was so close and I could feel the energy coming off of him, he was so amazing. When Paul fucking McCartney walked on without warning I think I SCREAMED!! He was so fucking incredible and I can't even..I'm still absolutely reeling from the fact that I managed to see all of this so close. And then of course Taylor's son.. I cried so bad. He looked like he was having the time of his life but I can't imagine how hard it must've been for him to play. And the end..god. Seeing all of them on stage together and giving Taylor a big, loving send off made me absolutely bawl my eyes out.
Taylor Hawkins was such a beautiful soul, a fantastic drummer and an even better person to be around. And this is just proven in the way that he has united all these musicians and people in one long marathon concert to celebrate him and his legacy. The range of emotions I've felt throughout these hours is huge, but it's been the best experience ever. And it doesn't even come close to paying back everything Taylor gave.
I have an unhealthy crush on Justin Hawkins i fucking love him dude. HIS STYLE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! NOT TO MENTION HIS VOICE AND HIS GUITAR SKILLS ARE UNDER-FUCKING-APPRECIATED TOO.
my man has aged like fine wine.
I can't be the only one who thinks he is fit as fuck
2003 was an insanely good year for music: Decoration Day, Room on Fire, Up the Bracket, Fever to Tell, Elephant, Damnation, Boy in da Corner, Deep Cuts. My own pick that year was Caribou’s Up in Flames, a DIY electronic masterpiece that rewrote what an electronic artist could do. It’s a great album, but over the last 20 years I haven’t felt compelled to revisit it as often as others. The 2003…
"Losing Taylor was a jolt to the cosmos." - Stewart Copeland
Everyone did so well in creating an epic, emotional tribute to an incredible musician & man who affected the lives of so many - and whose legacy will live on in countless ways.
6 hrs long, 50 songs, laughs and tears as we streamed the show (beside the tv a now empty Coors Light can performing as a short of Relic, a can that got thrown into the crowd & that we caught at the end of the last show we saw them at 🍻)
Highlights almost feels a weird way to phrase it but was happy to go along for the ride and especially enjoy the unexpected of: Kesha the babe ⭐, Chevy Metal owning the joint, Justin Hawkins' costumes & vibe, glad I've now heard of Josh Freese!, Wolfgang Van Halen shredding even though he doesn't mainly consider himself a guitarist lol, Violet Grohl's incredible singing (performing Jeff Buckley no less), swaggering out some AC/DC (and realising Brian Johnson and Justin Hawkins remind me of Frank Reynolds from IASIP and Klaus from Umbrella Academy 😂, also "if Brian tells you to do something, you fucking do it!" twitter.com/JustinHawkins/status/1566790445220372482?s=20&t=Ls4AkB34klZNMuVkhEbNYA ), Stewart Copeland being a big ham but showing up all presentable and hitting it like this was 40 years ago, Nandi being an absolute legend, Queen handling their second epic tribute at Wembley 30 years after Freddie, and of course Shane Hawkins embodying the most tangible spirit of Taylor in what must have been a very difficult and badass performance.
