Today really hadn’t gone how you’d planned.
You had been hanging out with Eddie and his band mates, something you’d done quite often. Only this time you made the mistake of wearing your *NSYNC tour shirt.
It wasn’t a secret that you and Eddie had polar opposite tastes, it was apparent by just looking at you. You were all pink, bubblegum and boy bands. And your boyfriend was a leather clad, heavy metal enthusiast.
Despite these differences, you fit so well together.
And as they say— opposites attract.
But one of his friends was always more standoffish towards you because of it. While you were always nice to Gareth, he seemed annoyed anytime Eddie brought you around. But today that annoyance had seemingly reached its peak.
And all over a stupid t-shirt.
Eddie had gone to get you both a drink, leaving you in the living room with the three other males. They were discussing the newest Linkin Park album. Which oddly enough, was a band you actually enjoyed outside your normal realm of music.
You perked up at the mention of the album, as it had been the only thing Eddie had been playing since it was released. Feeling eager to see what they also thought of it.
“Oh come on man, you can't say Meteora is better than Hybrid Theory,” Jeff scoffs, shaking his head in response to Gareth’s admission as Eddie leaves the room.
The male rolls his eyes before tossing a piece of popcorn at Jeff’s head, “See that’s where you’re wrong dude, have you tried listening to the albums back to back?”
You take this as an opportunity to add in your two cents, trying to include yourself in the conversation despite your nerves.
“Well, personally I think both albums are great in their own—”
You are interrupted with a loud snort as Gareth rudely cuts you off, glancing down at your shirt before meeting your eyes.
“Why would we care about your opinion of it? All you listen to is boy band trash pop,” he sneers, rolling his eyes as he turns back to his friends.
It felt like someone had punched you in the gut, any other words became lodged in your throat. Jeff and Grant throw apologetic glances your way, but continue on with the conversation as if nothing had happened.
Eddie returns shortly after, completely oblivious to what had just transpired. He plops down next to you on the sofa and passes you a can of coke. Due to your solemn appearance, he knew something was wrong. He just didn’t know what.
A frown tugs at the corner of his mouth as he wraps an arm around your waist, tucking you into his side.
“Hey, you okay?” He asks softly, replying with a shrug of your shoulders.
You let your eyes fall to the open can of soda clutched in your fist. You didn’t want to talk about it, especially not in front of them. The last thing you wanted was to cause a scene, or to give Gareth the satisfaction of seeing you cry.
So you sat quietly through the next half hour, letting Eddie enjoy the time with his friends.
But he couldn’t seem to let it go, far too focused on what had caused this sudden shift in your mood. So he ended the hangout early, claiming to be too tired from work. But all of you knew the real reason, guilt filled your chest as he walked you out to his van.
They must think you’re a buzzkill too.
The questions started the moment the door shut behind him, badgering you the entire way back to your house. You easily dodged his line of questioning, claiming to be tired. But Eddie wasn’t having any of that, he could see right through you. He always could.
“Baby, come on. Talk to me please,” he pleaded as he followed you up the stairs to your bedroom.
You continued to ignore him as you sat on the bed with a sigh. You felt embarrassed, knowing such a silly comment shouldn’t bother you as much as it did. All you wanted was for his friends to like you, but it was made abundantly clear that they didn’t.
All because you favored pop music? It all felt so trivial, like they weren’t even willing to give you a real chance. It hurt your feelings more than you cared to admit.
But Eddie being the sweet, doting boyfriend that he was— wasn’t giving up that easily.
“Just tell me what happened, sweetheart.” He says, kneeling in front of you, palms resting on either side of your thighs.
“It’s stupid,” you mutter, avoiding his curious gaze.
“Nothing that upset you this much is stupid,” he counters as you let out a groan, dramatically falling back onto the mattress and covering your face.
You hear his exasperated sigh, feeling the weight of his chest against yours as he leans over you. Eddie carefully removes your hands from your face, looking down at you expectantly.
“Your friends don’t like me,” you utter softly.
He frowns, confusion settling on his features.
“Why do you say that?”
You sigh, rolling your eyes which causes his frown to deepen.
“Well, just look at me…” you trail off, gesturing to yourself. “And look at you.”
It’s his turn to sigh now, taking your hands as he guides you back into a sitting position. Eddie cups your cheeks in between his palms, leaning forward to press a kiss to your forehead.
“I know what you’re insinuating, but I promise that’s the furthest thing from the truth.” He reassures you, his dark eyes utterly sincere.
And as much as you want to believe him, there’s still a small part of you that wonders if maybe they are right. Maybe you’re too different. He must be able to read the apprehension lingering on your features, as one of determination crosses over his.
“I don’t know what they said to make you think that,” he pauses to press a kiss to the tip of your nose. “But I won’t hesitate to kick some ass, sweetheart.”
Despite the teasing lithe in his voice you know he’s serious, quickly shaking your head. The last thing you’d want is to cause more beef with his friends.
“It’s fine, Eds, I’m just too sensitive.” You give him a quick peck on the lips, “Let’s just drop it, yeah?”
You pull away to scoot further up the mattress, patting the spot beside you. But he shakes his head, remaining on the floor for a moment. His eyes dart contemplatively around the room, stopping on the shelf that held your extension CD collection.
A Cheshire-like grin tugs at his lips as he moves towards it, balancing on the balls of his feet. Your brows knit together in confusion as his ringed fingers graze over the plastic spines, stopping once he finds what he was looking for. Eddie pops the disc out of its case and into the clunky boombox before pressing play.
The beginning chords of Bye Bye Bye fill the once quiet space of your bedroom. Your boyfriend quickly jumps to his feet, spinning around to face you. He plants his feet on the carpet, head falling forward as his hands raise up in a marionette style.
Your eyes widen in realization as you crawl back towards the edge of your bed, suddenly intrigued. Eddie shoots a wink your way once he meets your gaze, beginning to sing along. His voice stood out amongst the others, the raspy quality brought a new edge to the track.
But he didn’t stop there.
You watched in amazement as he nailed all the choreography from the music video. You had no idea when he found the time to study all the moves. Between classes, work, hellfire and band practice he barely had time to think.
But knowing he took the time to do this, specifically for you— made your stomach flutter.
You can’t stop the smile from lighting up your features, giggling as your boyfriend continues to serenade you.
“I don’t want to be your fool, in this game for two…”
Eddie drops to his knees at your feet again, coaxing you onto the floor with him. He presses feather light kisses all over your face, the sensation causes you to giggle more. As hurt as you had been, the male always knew how to make you forget your problems.
At least for a little while.
“That’s my girl,” he mumbled, grinning down at you.
He’s a little out of breath from his impromptu dance routine, bangs lightly sticking to his forehead.
“You’re an absolute dork, Ed,” you giggle, ruffling his curls in a playful manner.
But the way he’s looking at you has your heart racing. His head dips, capturing your lips in a gentle kiss as the song comes to an end.
“Now, admit it,” he chuckles against your mouth, nudging his nose with yours. “I’m a much better dancer than that Dustin Timberlake.”
You laugh loudly, fondly shaking your head at him.
“It’s Justin, baby…”

Just throwing my two cents in there and then I'll go back to making silly memes. I genuinely think that House of the Dragon initially wanted to be neutral. I was recently looking back at old interviews of the cast promoting season 1 and in one of them (an Emma and Olivia interview) an interviewer asked them if they felt that it was a fair comparison to make of Alicent being Cersei and Rhaenyra being Arya. Emma D'arcy said not really and went on to talk about how much they loved how in GOT characters can change with one moment you loving them and the next hating them. Emma specifically said that they hoped (I think it was Miguel or Ryan) found that in the writing of HOTD, saying there were no "goodies" or "baddies".
I genuinely think the idea of grey characters was appealing to both the actors and writers but I guess at some point the writers decided against it. Idk it makes me feel a certain type of way that at least in the first interviews the cast seems convinced that their show has no solid good guys or bad guys compared to now where cast members (ex. Olivia Cooke) have to defend their characters and people treat them terribly for doing so. I'm not saying that the writers tricked the actors or anything. BUT I do think these actors came in here thinking that the story was going to be more compelling and morally grey than it ended up being.

I've been seeing just about all moments of GO S2 being put under a microscope and absolutely dissected frame by frame
And still I am yet to see anyone mention a moment that might be small in the grand scheme of things, perhaps not as character defining as many other that have been (rightfully) analyzed a thousand times over, but which was *so* important to me, and every single time I watch it I'm just filled with so many feelings and jhaghagha
(putting this under a read more to not spam y'all with a ginormous post clogging your dashes)
The moment in question is this (my apologies for the pics, I currently don't have a proper way to take screenshots of S2 and had to snap photos of my tv screen lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's such a quick moment, a small blip in the entirety of episode 5, but let me tell you why it absolutely destroys my heart every single time.
First of all let's refresh our memory on Aziraphale's relationship with Heaven and Gabriel specifically, shall we?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The very first time we see Gabriel in S1, he surprises Aziraphale at a sushi restaurant. Aziraphale looks to his left, because that's the side where Crowley usually appears when approaching him, but instead of his boyfriend the familiar Demon, he sees the reflection of Gabriel at his other side, and he turns around with what reads to me as very much an "oh shit" expression.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In episode 2 we see Gabriel again, along with Sandalphon; they are flanking Aziraphale and leaving him no way to escape in what to me seems a blatant intimidation tactic, especially with Gabriel being all "hey you remember Sandalphon, right :)" and Aziraphale being like "Oh yeah, likes smiting and turning people into salt, I sure do! *nervous laugh". There's literally no reason for them to be acting like this if not to (un)subtly remind Aziraphale what his place is, and that he is NOT safe, not even in his bookshop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whenever we see Aziraphale in Heaven he is constantly standing ramrod straight, hands kept caged behind him, none of his usual mannerism to be seen. He always smiles like a hare being stared at by a hawk and the cinematography very much underlines that tenseness by both showing the impossible, cold and sterile expanse of Heaven in contrast to the camera being shoved right in the characters' face to make the viewer feel just as uncomfortable as Aziraphale is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Gabriel and Aziraphale speak in the park there's this moment after it looks like Gabriel is leaving, but he pops right back up in Aziraphale's space in an instant, causing the reaction we see in these screenshots. Aziraphale is clearly taken aback and tense, eyes widening which is like, fair considering Gabriel pretty much jump scared him, but that's rather the point, isn't it? Gabriel pretty much jump scared him. He didn't just turn around and jog back to Aziraphale to ask him about the sword, he purposefully moved himself up to him without any warning. Like sheesh, talk about terrifying bosses.
Tumblr media
No Gabriel here, but just another example of how much Aziraphale does NOT like being in Heaven. When he gets discorporated and finally manages to stand up for himself, saying he refuses to fight a war, he still looks like *this*. Like he's one step away from just discorporating a second time and without an actual body out of sheer anxiety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When all it's said and done at the Tadfield airbase and the four horsemen are gone, Gabriel and Beelzebub decide to go check what the heck is going on, at which point Aziraphale pretty much seems to be bracing himself, straightening his back, adjusting his clothes nervously and then holding his hand in front of him in a show of dignified quietness I definitely read as him doing his best to hide just how anxious he truly is.
Of course we don't see Aziraphale's reaction at being told to shut his stupid mouth and die already by Gabriel due to the body swap, and at this point is pretty safe to say Crowley has never shared with Aziraphale that little tidbit of information, but even not knowing the extent of the cruelty Gabriel showed toward him at the end, he still knows that Gabriel and, by extension, Heaven was more than willing and ready to murder him.
Even at the start of S2, when an amnesiac Gabriel arrives at the bookshop and then hugs him (awkwaaaard), Aziraphale looks like he's entirely frozen and unable to react to the improbability of what is happening, and when Gabriel asks him if he can go inside the bookshop Aziraphale's immediate reaction is to pretty much recoil with an immediate "No!".
Of course he is then forced to let him in because there's a naked man on his steps while the whole neighborhood is watching, and we get some many more little moments of Aziraphale anxiety emerging through his body language: The pacing, the way he sits ramrod straight in front of Gabriel, and him literally backing away multiple steps when Gabriel asks him "You know how it's like, when you don't know anything at all, and yet you're totally certain that everything will be better if you were just near one particular person?"
(Because of course Aziraphale knows how that feels, and that's exactly the same reason why he's been so scared of Heaven for-fucking-ever!) (Also as an aside let me just bless Michael 'Acting Choices' Sheen for that smile that lasts a shard of a second after Gabriel asks that. You can pretty much see the word "CROWLEY" stamped in big bold letters on his forehead in that moment lmao)
(Also as an aside to the aside. Jon Hamm is just fantastic. Gabriel comes across as such an asshole in S1, but Amnesiac!Gabriel is a fucking cinnamon roll and he pulls it off so well ajahjahja)
Then of course we get the whole exchange about the 'something terrible' that sends Aziraphale into more anxious frenzy until another tiny, kinda overlooked moment hits us in the shins, in which Gabriel says "You're funny. I love you." And like, can't blame anybody for not looking at that moment without much thought, I know that that sentence had me crying laughing multiple times on multiple rewatches, but also... God, you can see the way some of that fear instantly leaves Aziraphale, the way he relaxes ever so slightly and ??? Aziraphale??? Is that all you need to instantly start trusting someone who wanted you dead? Who treated you like shit for who knows how long? (Why am I even asking this, of course that'd be enough, it's Aziraphale we're talking about, here.) Then of course the rest of season 2, he and Crowley having a row about what to do with Gabriel with Aziraphale insisting that he needs them, as his friends, yada yada, we get back to the initial moment that sparked this post.
We get there, Aziraphale's (eldritch) Ball and the romantic moment he's been working himself up for ruined, murderous Demons at his steps putting both he and all the humans inside in peril, and all he would need to do to avoid any harm coming to them is to give Gabriel up, and... "You came to me. I said I would protect you. And I will." Not just the words, but the way Aziraphale says them; voice lowered and serious, that hint of hesitation and fear at the start that melts away into full blown confidence at the 'And I will'.
It isn't just Aziraphale being scared by Gabriel mentioning the 'something terrible' at the beginning, nor the brief moments of cryptic recollection that he witnesses Gabriel going through-- It's that Aziraphale sincerely accepted to protect him, and he wasn't going to give that up. He is a Guardian and a Principality, after all.
And like, I see this and how am I supposed not to get my heart utterly shattered by it? If Aziraphale had rejected Gabriel, or treated him unkindly in any way, I hardly doubt anybody would be hard pressed to say Aziraphale did not have the right to do so, not after the way he's been treated by Gabriel and Heaven his whole life. But he doesn't. He is kind to him, if a tad long-suffering at times. The protection he extended over Gabriel is utterly sincere and unwavering.
And ngggggggh I don't even know where I'm going with this. I just. Love Aziraphale so much. Stupid, clever, anxious, brave man-shaped thing that he is, recklessly throwing himself into the line of fire for somebody that, by any means, did not have any right to ask something of that magnitude from him. He is my scrungly, and by God am I ever so excited to see how everything will play out in season 3. I want him to fully grasp that bravery and raise absolute -metaphorical- hell with it. Shine bright, you crazy bastard.

i love the debate of whether Mike should have long or short hair in s5! but i'll be a die hard defender of the long hair because
1.) it looks good okay, it suits him and the possibility of ponytails or Will brushing a hairstrand behind his ear are killing me in concept alone. but that's just personal preference, for me it's mainly 2.) it'd follow the Wheeler theme So Well, guysssss
bc i do like the concept of him cutting it in response to Eddies death. but listen, listen: the Wheeler's consistent themes with hair styling on the show okay.
Nancy's hair journey is a complete reflection of her personal growth as attested by the costume department. as she grows to be more independent and rejects the suburban cul-de-sac life her hair gets progressively shorter in every season while Also getting curlier. reject tradition and all, the haircut she had in s1 is Nothing like the one she has now
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and Mike on the other hand goes in the opposite direction on the show. he starts s1 with your typical 80s-boy almost bowlcut but not 100% committed hairstyle and clothes his mom bought him. that's how his mom dressed and styled him - even commented on in universe with his little outfits from the GAP. and it's just like how Nancy also dressed to fit in the family. and then Mike's hair gets floofier and messier over the seasons, by s3 he still has the same haircut but it's overgrown and doesn't fall neatly or flat anymore. and then by season 4 where he finally starts to commit and rejects expectations for the first time and joins hellfire he has Long hair and it's length also makes it the waviest and curliest it's ever been
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
guys their hair journeys literally parallel each other in terms of character growth as of now. they both have less and less of the hairstyle they had in s1 as they reject their family's and the town's values. short neat haircut for boy and long wavy locks for girl were their starting points. classic nuclear family, gender roles, Reagan years. and now they're donning the shoulder length wavy hair for Mike and the short and crazy curly hair for Nancy. the Wheeler fashion seem to have a direct correlation between non-conformity and their hair defying the ideal conservative expectations of the time. and i love all possibilities i've seen suggested for Mike's hair, but following this pattern Mike should either have a similar hair length to s4 or longer/curlier to show him fully rejecting the expectations placed on him
because this hair showing development phenomena is Such a big thing even Karen fits that family styling 😭
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
from wavy brunette, to suddenly bleach blonde and then BAM curls out of nowhere. and all over her independence/cheating/plot relevancy story line
growing your hair to a style that's not alligned with what's seen as "tidy" or "ideal" is literally a Wheeler family moment and it's HILARIOUS
(maybe if Ted finally grew his mane out he would stop catching bad dad allegations)

Even though I’m a multishipper most of the time, I wouldn’t be fine if MiIeven was canon after the events of ST4, vol. 2 more specifically, and how the love triangle was handled overall. The sentence “I don’t care which one will be canon as long as all of them are happy” has been very common around circles that love both couples, MiIeven and Byler, but I can’t bring myself to agree.
I wouldn’t be fine if MiIeven was endgame after Will’s feelings were used as a prop to mend it. El should have herself told Mike how greatly she feels about him, or Will shouldn’t have to urge Mike to say “I love you” if the relationship was to be fixed. (However, I think they are doing this for a reason, but this is beside the point.)
Will is a gay boy in the 80’s, lives in a small conservative town that already hates his family. On top of that, he is terrified of coming out. Amongst everything else he has gone through, he does not need a storyline where his romantic love for his childhood best friend is neglected, turned into a plot device in favor of restoring a hetero relationship.
If they wanted to make Byler as an example of a tragic unrequited love, there are other ways to do it that doesn’t reek homophobia (and queerbait). The love triangle is not just a mindless fandom battle between who is better for Mike (or who he “actually loves”) like any other heterosexual love triangle in media. There is a difference between the two outcomes. One of them being filled with homophobic and disgusting writing choices that led to cause more unnecessary pain and trauma for a queer character and the other is a hopeful, refreshing ending along with another step forward in queer representation that the mainstream media lacks.

I haven't been able to actually watch the stream yet, but I have thoughts about the message Cellbit got.
Some people are theorizing that whoever sent the message wants him to stop Jaiden from completing her mission. But the message dosnt say anything about that. Just to follow and gather information and not fail.
What if they want whatever Jaiden is going to do to work. And what if it actually helps the eggs? And that's why the message mentions that failing would mean losing Richarlyson? Because her mission is to protect them, and if she fails, they will continue to be in danger, and that will eventually lead to Richarlysons death.

okay but I actually do think that Sweet Nothing will stand the test of time unlike, say, lavender haze because the song itself is a rejection of the empty business of the world and the phrase sweet nothing, as deployed in the song, is about finding in the beloved freedom from the weight of crushing expectations and also the warmth of affection and simplicity.

One of the most wonderful- and sometimes detrimental parts about AIB is that none of the characters are black and white.
It's wonderful because all of the characters are absolutely more fleshed out, they feel more like real life people with realistic emotions. Even characters that would be usually seen as stereotypically "mean" (ex. Alef, Pitchfork, Telescope, Coconut ect.) have characteristics that make them lovable, relatable, and you're genuinely rooting for them at times.
It's detrimental because, well. The majority of the fanbase are children. Like, 13 and under. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing!! It's just that a majority of nuance seems to go over their heads. Hell that's one of the reasons I made this blog, because I wanted to provide a more balanced analysis of a character that's interesting to me because, well...AIB is amazing at those kinds of characters!!

i dunno, i feel like if they wanted to kill Steve off they very easily could've done it in season 4. And as much as i love Eddie i do feel like he did get killed off because they didn't/don't want to kill off Steve. Eddie could've been anyone and yet they chose to make all of those parallels, down to Eddie dying of the bat bites while Steve gets saved. Steve could've been put into Eddie's position, especially since we've seen him grow into such a heroic self sacrificing roll. Aand just because i feel like it's a related topic, i might as well throw it in here too, i really don't think they'd use an entire season of stancy being built back up again, just for either Steve to die or for them not to get back together again. In my eyes it honestly feels more like 2 seasons of build up, with Jonathan and Nancy's relatonship being on the rocks since the very beginning of season 3, to the writers deciding to make Robin a friend and not a love interest for Steve, to keep Steve single the entire season when he's actively looking for a relationship, what would be the point in hurting Steve like that again? I view the end of season 4 as a parallel to season 1. Jonathan and Nancy are still together but you just know it's not gonna survive the next and i genuinely don't believe that Steve will be killed off. long story short, i have stupidly high hopes for a stancy endgame. 😂
ALSO after Eddie's death, unless they kill off Dustin too, i really don't see Dustin having any sort of happy ending if Steve were to die. Steve's death would completely obliterate that kid.

the tortured poets department theory...
for purposes of clarification, i'm talking about the song, but what i'm getting at may apply to the album of the whole
the tldr is that i think the song refers to the department (departing in the sense of leaving) of two tortured poets (taylor and joe), rather than a department of tortured poets
obviously there's been a lot of discussion about this being a heartbreak/break-up album, so i'm wondering if this song will specifically dive into the very end of the relationship.
maybe this sounds really obvious, but i've been thinking a lot about how the verb "depart" can mean to leave, so this song could be about the two of them leaving each other for the final time.
the title is "the tortured poets department", but it could be rephrased as "the department of the tortured poets". obviously joe was involved in taylor's life not just romantically, but also creatively, with folklore, evermore, and midnights. (and we have references to this in these albums: i'm setting off, but not without my muse and on the way home/i wrote a poem/you say "what a mind" among others.)
with this in mind i don't think its too much of a stretch to say that taylor could have considered joe to be a poet alongside her, but then things got tough, and they both felt tortured, so they departed (each other).

Okay, after having finished watching A Journey to Love (I’d put off the last 5 eps) I think I can definitively state that this cdrama has an effect equivalent to that of a truly perfect cheeseburger when you’re hungry. Are there better things? Yes, sure. But frankly, this is really really good and all I really need.

Okay not to delve too much into the disc horse BUT the issue isn't really "should Din become Mand'alor or not" seeing him actually struggle with whether or not to accept the path that's been offered to him. Everyone keeps saying that Din never wanted the saber, and I'm not saying he necessarily does but he also hasn't really made too much of an effort to get rid of it either. Yeah, he offers it to Bo-Katan on the cruiser but that could very well be chalked up to him trying to fulfill his end of their agreement. After all, part of Bo agreeing to help him get Grogu back in the first place was her trying to lay, claim to the Darksaber. Plus we don't see what happened that led him to keep a hold of it, but we do see that he DOES keep it--we even see him fight to keep it against Paz. Yes yes hah hah Cain instinct/anyone but him but still. If he really just flat out didn't want it, he could have let Paz take it by his familial claim. Or he could have simply left it with the covert when he was declared apostate (why should someone shunned like that keep a hold of such a powerful artifact). Hell, he could have just chucked it in a corner of the cruiser on his way out and let Bo decide if she wanted to take it.
So there's something that prompts him to keep a hold of it. There's something drawing him to it, highlighted by the fun movie magic of the lingering shots when he's putting it in his checked bag (~visual storytelling~). And there's something in the fact that the first time we see him fight with it he injures himself! And yet he tries to keep it! Why! This is the interesting thing about him holding the Darksaber.
Compare it to Din and Grogu. No, Din did not set out on that bounty to end up with a kid. Really, he's not looking to keep the kid at all, but he has a damn conscious and then he goes and bonds with him. So season 1 is watching him struggle with unwanted fatherhood and bonding with the kid despite his best efforts. Season 2 is him struggling with this newfound connection he has with the kid with the looming idea that Grogu does not belong with him and needs to be returned to his own kind. Him winning the Darksaber from Gideon adds in another but similar conflict--something powerful is now in his possession, how does he respond to this new responsibility and how does he feel about it. PLUS really if you add in the fact that the Darksaber is famously a Mandalorian AND Jedi artifact and gee wizz guess whose a Mandalorian who just gave up his kid for Jedi school (thematic relevance anyone???).
So Season 3 was initally set up as yet another step in Din's conflict with what he wants internally VS the responsibilities that are giving to him. His kid is gone, he doesn't have to worry about him anymore but he's gonna. Meanwhile, he now has the opportunity to claim leadership of a scattered people but does he want to? Where does his personal code point him? Towards his former foundling Grogu (who by Creed his no longer his responsibility) or to his scattered people (who by tradition he is now the leader of)? Plus just the surface conflict of Din, who grew up in a traditionalist covert and yet has no knowledge or connection to this traditional artifact and yet is now it's wielder by right? That's some good shit right there.
Anyway tldr it's not about Din actually becoming the Mand'alor or not it's about not getting to see him struggle with the responsibility at all.

I hate how some FF7 fans who want the Rebirth story to stay the same as the OG are ruining theorists' fun. The trailer just came out, and we still don't know a ton about the game, yet some people instantly came to the conclusion that it's the OG based on what was shown in the trailer.
The developers are probably going to reveal more about the new mysteries in later trailers, yet some people are saying it's the OG all over again. Meanwhile I'm having a blast theorizing about big bad Jenova and time traveler Sephiroth, and many people are analyzing the trailer and making theories out of it that sound 100% better than the plot of the original FF7 (in my personal opinion).
I think that Rebirth is a completely new thing with the same plot points, character arcs, and story themes, but it's different from the original game. And I will die on this ship until it sinks. To all the FF7 theorists, have fun theorizing!

I'm aware of my statement in my guidelines that in many instances the fandom doesn't represent me, hence my decision to not want to be affiliated with it. However, given the (once again) uprising of a fanon theory concerning time loops and samsaras, I want to be firm about something: I don't subscribe to this. I didn't when it was big during Sumeru, even less I do now. I'll keep the thoughts to myself as to why I don't trust it. Do you believe it and want to apply it to your portrayal? Cool, I respect you. But know that I won't take part in it.
