Tumgik
#just so you know ive been holding off on the afohiko tma crossovers but now. it is Time
Note
5 headcanons for an au, afohiko version because you KNOW i gotta: does Beholder!AfO/Lonely!Gran Torino work as a Elias/Peter parallel because now that i've typed it out, i've realized that lonelyeyes is ALSO a fanon divorced ship
OH MY GOD YOU'RE SO RIGHT
1- AfO has been an avatar of the Beholding since before Yoichi died. He was always so desperately curious about how every possible quirk functioned, their mechanics, their strengths, their weaknesses, their flaws- he wanted to pick them apart. He wanted to pick their wielders apart, too, but only if the quirk wasn't as interesting as the body it was attached to. He knows that devoting himself to fear leads to functional immortality, in some cases, but he has several lifespan-extending quirks. As failsafes. Just in case.
2- Sorahiko has always been... aimless. He's always driven everyone away, at first by virtue of his personality, then later on he started doing it purposefully. He finds people to be more annoying than they seem to think they are. He's never been particularly motivated to do anything, which is why he turned to fighting rings instead of college or the usual customer-facing jobs that lay ahead of anyone who doesn't get a degree of some kind. He doesn't have to talk to win. He just doesn't like the attention paid to him by the audience, all the crowds, sweating and screaming like insects or pigs- no, he doesn't like it at all. He quit the fighting rings but kept the habitual quick resorts to violence as well as quirk use, which led to some interesting consequences.
3- AfO finds out about this mysterious man who seems to be a Lonely avatar and is definitely an efficient murderer, so he's got to meet him and possibly get him to join his operations instead of letting him keep killing everyone who annoys him! Because the people who annoy him are usually AfO's minions and he doesn't like that!
4- Sorahiko tries to push away this weird guy who reeks of Beholding. It doesn't work. He's stuck on like a goddamn barnacle and he guesses that technically, if he really wanted to get away from this guy he could just stop going on assassination contracts but he likes getting money for throwing people into the Lonely, which is what he would be doing anyway, so. He will deal. He will not get attached. He will not.
5- After Sorahiko has unfortunately gotten attached to the weird Beholding dude, he finds out about the whole "shadow leader of the underground" thing and he's like "ah. Dabbling in a web alignment, are we?" so that's an argument that they've had going for forever. On the plus side, this is what motivates Sorahiko to return AfO's advances because hey! Nobody's going to mess with the boogeyman's boyfriend! He also does legitimately want to return the advances but he's also got an ego so he's hiding behind excuses lol
+1- They do, in fact, pull a lonelyeyes and get divorced several times.
