And idk if it's moreso a crackship or a rarepair that only works in an AU (HACKS up Starstruck), but Reggie's line of "...and I hope Ollie made it out too. I hope a lot of things." It's totally me reading into it but like,,,,I want them to talk because Ollie is not dead to me in my heart of hearts.

Maybe the only change is like Reggie taps into the communication on the radio in Hot Water instead of using the earpiece, so Ollie ends up hearing him also? And they end up getting along really well (with Reggie having to jump through a couple hoops to be like "haha what agency..."). There's an Agency base in the South-East coast of Australia and maybe the Agency ends up adopting him after he washes up on the shore with the escape pod (after HEAVY questioning).

Just kinda... putting this out into the universe for right now, but I've been thinking really hard about getting my old enamel pin collections back in circulation, as well as maybe releasing them as stickers as well (for a budget option and also for things you can't put enamel pins on). I had to throw out basically all my remaining stock when I moved (which... oouugh it still hurts), so I might essentially run a "reboot" kickstarter to get another batch of Dire Hounds made and then try again to get the full Grimalkins set funded. A few things this would let me do:

update the templates for slightly cleaner manufacturing, and update the backer cards with accurate artist info because man that was really bothering me

like I said, hopefully get the second half of the Grimalkins produced so they're a proper six-pin collection like the first one

network! Now that I'm in a big city I think I honestly might have better luck with consignment stores and craft fairs than I ever did with only an online shop, and more visibility can only mean good things.

I'm also still definitely planning to make idog merch, and beyond that I'd potentially love to lean even further into the cyberpunk and y2k aesthetics to really hone my Brand™, but obviously that requires original thought and creative effort while getting the dogs and cats remade just requires pulling the old AI files off my poor aging iMac.

I just got an idea for one of those soulmates aus. like one of those where everything is in black and white until they meet and then they see colour after meeting each other for the first time. except I prefer it when instead of everything just bursting into colour immediately, it happens more subtly, over the course of a few weeks maybe.

so imagine, Stede and Ed meet, and after that everything starts gradually changing around them. except because it's so gradual, neither of them realize right away, except ed realizes a bit before stede does.

so ed realizes that things are getting different during the moonlight scene in episode five. all of a sudden the silk he's had ever since he was child looks slightly different. the sky and ocean he has been looking upon for years look somewhat changed and then he looks into stede's eyes and realizes what is happening. which makes it so much harder to try and get over stede after he leaves in episode nine, because everything is still in colour. it didn't go back to the way it was before because he can never go back to the way it was before.

but then stede realizes that everything is in colour during the conversation with mary in episode 10 after she tried to skewer him. and he realizes it then because the last time he was there, everything was in black and white but now it's not. and similar to how ed compares the silk and the colour of the sky and the ocean that he has known for his entire life, stede notices the difference between how he remembers his room to look, versus how it looks now. and the whole montage thing that happens in his head as mary is describing what it's like to be in love, stede sees that in various different hues/tones/whatever it's called depending on how long he has known ed. and that's (one of the reasons) how stede realizes that he is in love with ed and that he is his soulmate.

(also maybe the speech mary gives is different because now it's about seeing things in colour and how that was a gradual process she didn't notice right away, but then all these little things started popping out to her and that's how stede realizes how his sight has changed over the course of the last weeks)

anyway, that's my thoughts on that

judging by the "fixes" they've applied to fern and i'm fairly sure also to a few other genes, they likely intend to flatten and generic-ify EVERY gene that does anything interesting with especially the top feathers portion of the wings. :/
