I just got a ficus bonsai tree and a juniper bonsai tree. I LOVE these little trees. They bring me great joy and peace when I look at them and care for them. They make my world more beautiful just by existing with me. I am very thankful for them.

This baby juniper will be in a penjing with my altar. Something to look forward to in 2026 or 2027.

Steve Harrington's babies from favorite to least favorite in no particular order because he loves all his kids equally
based on this
(image limit is a bitch so pics of the bonsai trees will be in the reblog </3)
1. Non-Concussed Steve (Petunia)
Tumblr media
(it was a present after all it is only polite to get misty-eyed every time he looks at her)
2. Rose Nylund (apple tree Bonsai)
(what can he say, it was love at first sight)
3. Dorothy Zbornak (Scarlet Begonia Bonsai)
(tiny tree AND pretty flowers?! Do you even need to ask at this point)
4. Blanche Devereaux (azalea bonsai)
(Don't tell Blanche but he just finds Dorothy's colors a bit prettier)
5. Sophia Petrillo (juniper bonsai)
(he loves the way the trunk twists and turns)
6. The Golden Girl (maple tree bonsai)
(Her full name is actually the golden girls intro song but when other people are around he only calls her gold)
7. Tall Lucas (Dracaena Fragrans)
Tumblr media
(the one that opened his eyes to the possibility of trees in small)
8. Mike Junior (Swiss Cheese Plant)
Tumblr media
(it was his first adopted plant it has a special place in his heart)
9. Eddie Blink Blink Asshole (Gerbera Daisy)
Tumblr media
(He just finds the flower pretty okay?! Everyone else only knows this beauty as Eddie only, and Steve is taking the full name to his grave)
10. Supergirl (String of Pearls)
Tumblr media
(Admittedly he always puts this one a bit further up because he feels bad that he only associated it with El because of her nosebleeds. And Supergirl is also super good at hanging.)
11. Red Cactusfield (Cactus)
Tumblr media
(She would be higher if she didn't keep pricking his finger like a fucking asshole. She also falls a bit into the background because she isn't as needy as some others) (he is talking about the bonsais)
12. Will The Strong (arundinaria appalachiana)
Tumblr media
(the shame he feels every time he looks at the plant he got because he thought it looked "exotic" only to find out that it is native will never completely leave him)
13. Henderson Hard-Head (Succulent)
Tumblr media
(his foot is still sore from when this fucker fell on it)

So @befuddled-calico-whump's PBU (pot boy universe) still lives rent free in my brain and all I'm thinking about is a multi-whumpee situation with a bonsai gardener and an old Juniper tree, twisted and mangled from years of being forced to grow in absurd ways. Juniper's lived like this for years and stays silent, resigned to his fate. Until one day, a new seedling comes screaming into the garden with wire wrapped around his limbs and forced into a beautiful stress position. And Juniper just decides then and there,
"No. No they don't do this to you too. I'm too far gone, but not you."

Call of Duty with Plants
Ghost – Great with succulents, can leave them for a while and not worry about them dying.
Soap – Black thumb, no luck at all with trying to grow anything.
Gaz – Is great with orchids, but horrible with any other plant. His orchids blooms are some of the prettiest you’ll ever see. (Pretty like him.)
Price – Has amassed lots of foliage plants from the 141 members, his office call look like a jungle greenhouse if he doesn’t regularly trim them all.
Laswell – Loves her Amaryllis from her wife, beautiful red bloom and clover plants. (The rest of the 141 have clover in their plants because of this.) (It’s the STD of the plant world and they joke of this)
Farah – Has an African violet (That she may refer to as Alex…)
Alex – Just like Soap, no luck. He forgets to water them.
Nikto – Great with his bonsai tree, finds it calming to prune them, he has two; a Juniper and a Japanese Maple.
Rodion – Sunflower, he likes watching it move as it chases the sun throughout the day. Also like how big the grow.
Roach – Farmer, grows veggies, herbs, and a few fruit trees at home. Brings home some of the harvest to the 141. They all love it. Nothing like fresh homegrown fruit to munch and fresh herbs and veggies to cook with.
Minotaur and Bale – No interest in plants but finds it amusing to watch Rodion with his giant sunflowers and are thankful Nikto can cut something other then other people.
Nikolai – He has a little cactus in his helicopter, glued in place. It’s a trooper with all it goes through with Nikolai’s adventures

Favourite kind of plant?
Oooh, this is a fun one. Personally, my family has only really grown produce- fruit and vegetables- but...
I really liked the little juniper plants my store was selling in December. They were kinda like bonsais. Bonsais are amazing, I want to buy myself one some day. When I have room for more plants, because I really don't have room for many. (That said, I do love my succulent).

Juniperus davurica "parsonii" (Parson's juniper. What was misidentified for ever as a Juniperus chinensis). Kathrin's tree, it was the winner of the Literati Grove award at Komorebi 2019. We've been letting it grow these last few years with minor adjustments and today at the Sarasota Studygroup it was time for some cutting, detail wiring to come in February. It's in a Thor pot and was originally styled by Rodney Clemons #bonsai #bonsaitree #bonsaiart #literatibonsai #juniperbonsai @kathrin2020 @ekitainoken.eth @komorebibonsai @literatigrove (at Adam's Art & Bonsai Studio Nursery) https://www.instagram.com/p/ClsAZwNNzdn/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Me and my brother went to a bonsai show this past weekend, and he fell a little bit in love with them.
I got 2 new trees to train in the spring, plus my brother got one he handed over to me for my (slightly, a very little) more knowlagble hands. They are all cold hardy- 2 junipers and a yew-so they are outside soaking up any last bits of sun before beginning the process of dormancy! At that point they will be nice and tucked away in a cold frame.
This year I promise I am gonna be better about pictures XD. Don't remind me that I say that every year.
