It's been a while, but happy birthday again to one of my favorite comic book writers and artists, especially Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comics. And that is certainly Don Rosa. Happy 72nd birthday Don Rosa and thank you for the best comics!

Junior Woodchucks and Chickadees - Kids scouts group - Duckverse

This is also my gift to my friend from Instagram and Deviantart, but I also drew this for Scouts Day, which is celebrated on February 22nd. Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell, was born on that day in 1857, who was also the founder of scouts (the first scout camp was Brownsea Island Scout camp) in 1907. On the same day, his wife Olave Baden-Powell was born, but in 1889, she too was credited with founding the Girl Scouts, just as Robert Baden-Powell was credited with founding the Boy Scouts. While the whole world celebrates the Scout Day on February 22, in America it is celebrated on February 8. Yes, those scout groups of either boys or girls help to improve their knowledge and skills and to get along better in nature and not be at home all the time in a closed space. Those scouting organizations are still active today.

Yes, I drew Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie together as the Junior Woodchucks, in which they are much more disciplined than before, and there is Gyro's nephew, Newton who is also a member of the Junior Woodchucks. There is also Sonny Seagull (Garvey Gull), who, although not a member of the Junior Woodchucks, is still best friends with Donald's nephews, so he is often with them. Unfortunately, he is an orphan. Incidentally, it is also the anniversary of the comic "Operation St. Bernard" published in February 1951 and written and drawn by Carl Barks and that comic was the beginning of Junior Woodchucks. Besides them, there are also Daisy's nieces, April, May and June (version from the Dutch comics), but as the Littlest Chickadees, a girl scout group and dressed in uniform. There is also Bertie McGoose or Grand Mogul, the leader of the Junior Woodchucks, also one of Donald Duck's best friends from childhood. And there are their parents, Aunt Daisy, Uncle Donald and Uncle Gyro Gearloose from Little Helper, watching their kids have fun and socializing while in scout groups. I mostly drew by combining styles from European comics. And yes, Huey holds the Junior Woodchucks Guidebook, which contains all the important information and is a veritable encyclopedia for young curiosities.

Who appears the most in Dialing for Disaster?

So this is an interesting one because it's told through two storylines. So instead of just counting appearance, entry and exit I also counted which parts belong to each storyline.

As always spoilers for the story + I still don't count pages the page count is just calculated from the percentage!

HDL - 73 (panels) / 17.1 (pages) / 38.02% (of the story)

Donald - 77 / 18.04 / 40.1%

(My thoughts and additional stats below!)

Inducks lists a couple of other characters on this one as well, but I decided not to count those because I don't really care about them!

Let's look at entry and exit stats first!

HDL - 1 (0.52%) / 191 (99.48%)

Donald - 20 (10.42%) / 192 (100%)

Alright, let's look at the new stats!

The red is parts in the HDL storyline, the blue in the Donald storyline and the purple is spots where they collide.

HDL storyline - 72 (panels) / 37.5%

Donald - 74 / 38.54%

Mix - 46 / 23.96%

Egmont lists this as a Donald story, but I think it's obviously a shared lead between Donald and HDL. The story cuts between their two storylines, although more time is spent in Donald's. I think this is a brilliantly structured story!

Happy birthday, Carl Barks!

On March 27, 1901, near Merrill, Oregon, Carl Barks was born, the famous writer and artist of Donald Duck comics who would turn Donald Duck and his family into something spectacular, starting with Duckburg and the Duckverse universe. He had a difficult childhood and was constantly looking for work until he started working for Disney from 1935. He worked on writing scripts for many classic Donald Duck shorts, and from 1942 he started writing and publishing the comic book "Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold" and since then he has been writing famous comics that will be read all over the world and that Donald Duck will be even more famous. Although Al Taliaferro invented Donald's nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, Gus Goose, Grandma Duck and Bolivar the dog, while Walt Disney Donald and Daisy Duck, Barks remains famous for perfecting these characters and inventing one of the most famous characters without that the Duckverse wouldn't even exist. They are certainly Scrooge McDuck (created in 1947), Gladstone Gander (created in 1948), Beagle Boys (created in 1951), Junior Woodchucks (created in 1951), April, May and June Duck (created in 1952), Gyro Gearloose (created in 1952), Cornelius Coot (created in 1952), Goldie O'Gilt (created in 1953), Flintheart Glomgold (created in 1956), Magica De Spell and Miss Quackfaster (created in 1961), John D. Rockerduck (created in 1961), Abner Whitewater Duck (created in 1962), as well as Neighbor Jones, Soapy Slick, Pig mayor, Matilda and Hortense McDuck and other characters.

He stopped working with comics in 1967, but continued to draw special artwork and developed a duck style that influenced other artists and writers to follow him. Although he established his own rules for the Duckverse and the duck family, he never established it as true canon and let other authors make up their own. He strove for excellent humor (sometimes dark humor), and his comics are proof of that, even though conclusions about adventure comics were drawn from it. Those comics will later greatly influence other media, not only for Disney, but for the creation of the Indiana Jones movies. Influenced a lot on Osama Tezuka, the founder of manga. It also influenced the creation of Ducktales in 1987. He traveled around European countries and met other Donald Duck comic artists and writers. He especially influenced Don Rosa, Romano Scarpa, William Van Horn, Guido Martina, Carpi, Vicar and other authors. He married three times and left two daughters. He died on August 25, 2000 in Grants Pass, Oregon.

And now the best pictures of him in memory of the great Donald Duck artist who won The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 1987. He was also called The Duck Man and The Good Duck Artist. The Woodchuck Way.

(Took a break from Samurai Quack to at least start this, and an excuse to show my ducktales oc!!!)

(Huey Pov)

I was sprawled on the couch, my red t-shirt all gross and disgusting from it being a hand-me-down, I hated being a triplet.

But clearly, that didn't matter to my hyperactive brother Dewey, who was already begging me to make him breakfast. Uncle Donald wasn't home. He was on his port missions. This one had him taking down a cult? I didn't question it, though.

"Pleeeease, can't you at least make me some Porn Pops or at least some Boob O's?" Before I could speak, he began rambling about different erotic cereals, some that had vibrators as prizes.

"Fine, I'll make you some. But why on earth would they target this cereal for kids?" I asked as Louie lazily walked downstairs as he turned on the TV, to some 'Saturday Morning Cartoons', but in reality, it was a drama series of murders and femme fatales

I sighed, taking out some Busty Puffs from the cabinet, and poured them into a bowl.

Until I saw the back, it was an advertisement for the Junior Woodchucks?!

"You guys won't believe this!" I excitedly exclaimed, blocking both of my brothers' view of the television.

"You're adopted?" Louie said casually, but I ignored him, "No, I just got invited to be part of the Junior Woodchucks!" I said.

Dewey pretended to be excited, "No way, the box only cares about you, and not the space camp I wanted to go to since I was 5, I was five, may I remind you!"

I sighed, knowing about the Castellean Space Camp, Dewey wanted to go to, to search for our mother.

As Uncle Donald came home early, I excitedly told him the news, "And, they even have canoeing!" I said, as he sighed smoking a pipe. "That's wonderful, but is that really what you wanna do all summer?" He asked, motioning to his gross-out houseboat.

"I'm not cleaning that!" The three of us shouted together, as Uncle Donald chuckled, "Ok, ok, but Huey can't be the only one, doing something for the summer, you two can't sit around forever." He said as Louie groaned.

Later that day, I was in uniform, excitedly bouncing in my car seat as Dewey was buried in comic books, while Louie was trying to convince Uncle Donald that doing nothing was recommended by a professional doctor.

I saw the big brown arch up the driveway and excitedly squealed. This was it!

"Now, promise me you'll behave. There will be a pickup line each day, so try to spot my mini van, kay?" He said as I nodded in my little world of reading.

"Yeah, uh-huh...." I said dismissively as I walked to where the other campers were as the care drove off.

There were many newbies like me, all crowded together, chatting about how excited they were.

I finished reading as a group of boys were immediately getting a crowd of newbies, I slipped in through the crowd and found a merboy (in human form) with his friends showing some of their treasures.

As they finished, I noticed one of their badges, was that a satanic symbol?

I shrugged it off, watching my childhood friend Violet, writing about how fascinating this was.

"This is so beautiful, Mr. Pacifica, how'd you do it?" Violet Sabrewing, a top A+ student who, along with other refugees, escaped Duckburg during the Marine War.

"Please, just call me Pacifica. I ain't to chill about that. " He said, his piercing glowing. He was a lanky 17 year old, with beach blonde hair, that was damp and curly. He was wearing sunglasses and a shark tooth necklace. His eyes were blue-green, while his white pupils were shaped like waves. He was naked except for some tan cargo shorts and sandals.

He then began to announce the rest of his friends, "Alright, Bros and Betty's, lemme introduce you to some of my camp co-workers..." He said, ignoring Cornelius hand.

"Excuse me, but I asked you a question?" Cornelius snapped, not noticing another counselor, shooting a syringe into his back.

"You bros don't wanna be like Barney over their little dudes and dudettes, Kay?" He said as we all nodded.

"Rules..... Ugh, I told her I don't wanna review this, but fine, Rule One, always expect the unexpected, kay? and

Rule Two, all Junior Woodchucks must be open to the unknown in their quest for the truth?" He said, crumbling the rules paper.

"Alright'o, so we'll do some real activities tomorrow, for now let's meet our staff..." He said, motioning to his friends.

From a punk with skating skills, a hippie, or a mall bimbo, these camp counselors were something.

"And now, Miss Scarlet, the sister of Isabella Finch, has a few words to say."

Miss Scarlet, a Robin, unlike her who was a finch and explorer, was a very rich household executive of the Junior Woodchucks Foundation.

She was a very exclusive woman.

"Greetings, Woodchucks, my name is Scarlet, I'm am the sister of the explorer and founder of the Junior Woodchucks." She said, turning to the five boys beside her.

"I don't have much to discuss with you all until tomorrow. Mugman, can you watch them while I talk to the others?" She said as Mugman nodded.

Mugman was a skinny 16 year old, with blue highlights in his blonde foam hair.

His eyes were very detailed, a blue and gold color, he had a small blue nose and nose piercings lining it, he wore a crop top, daisy dukes, and white high tops, with goggles on. He almost looked like something out of Disney Channel.

He walked around, his grin getting slightly dark as he watched them leave.

"Ok, campers. Why don't we play a game?" He said, quickly pulling out a toolbox filed with weapons.

"First camper to make a direct hit on me wins!" He said, his eyes gleaming at all the worried looks on their faces.

As he handed each of us a weapon, I looked at Wakko, a fellow camp counselor, who was bewildered by the fact he had a gun.

"Are you sure, dude, this is seeming kinda tight? Just hang loose, man..." he said, trying not to sound so scared.

"Alright, you b*tch, you can go first then..." Mugman said, sitting on the stump, not even protecting himself.

"Kay, I can do that, Bro." He said, trying his best not to hurt him, Mugman rolled his eyes, grabbing the gun and shooting at his head. He was healthy regardless, not a scratch.

"Are you in a cult?" Forkington asked, pointing to his badge. Something must have stirred in Mugman because he brawled Forkington, splitting him open as Forkington's organs squirted out fresh blood all over the grass, drying once it hit the pavement

Forkington's eyes were blood-shot and melted, his mouth slightly open. As you could see his esophagus, by the way, he opened his mouth.

Soon, he was lashing out on other campers. Most were injured, and few died on the scene, I was lucky that I got away, but I had a huge tear in my bill.

The nurse's office was closed, but I could see the pick-up line, I immediately ran to my car, watching Uncle Donald, whip his head around as he saw me breathe heavily.

"Did you have fun o-" he stopped mid-thought as Mugman was on the roof of another campers car, while the four others were destroying the parking lot. Was that a summoning circle?!

Uncle Donald didn't bother to finish his thought as he sped away, as Pacifica jumped onto the roof of our car. Louie and my brother Dewey and I screamed, and his laser gun was putting a hole in our car.

Dot who was swinging from tree to tree using a grappling hook was trying to stop them.

"Like, literally Pacifica, the f*cks, your deal?!" She said, tackling him on the floor. More of his little group showed up. I panicked, I noticed he dropped his Junior Woodchucks Guidebook, and I stole it, I gasped. They were a group of criminals who were anti-heros in the Marine War, each of whom destroyed, manipulated, and started extreme war crimes.

"How about you and your plastic ass move it or lose it!" He barked, grabbing a tranquility gun.

He began shooting it. As I passed out, I as I woke, I was in a summoning circle, I gulped.

"Please, Dot, call us Pacific Rim...."

The Master Story!

Sul Topolino oggi in edicola si pubblicizza l'uscita, sulla collana quindicinale Le Grandi Saghe, della Master Story! Con questa storia ad episodi, negli anni 90, si intrecciavano, a suon di piccole citazioni, le vicende delle Giovani Marmotte e di Pk. Recentemente è stata riproposta nella collana antologica Il Manuale delle Giovani Marmotte, ma questa sarebbe la prima ristampa totalmente incentrata sulla saga.

On the Topolino issued today, the release of the Master Story is being advertised in the fortnightly series The Great Sagas! With this multi-episode story, in the 90s, the events of the Junior Woodchucks and Pk intertwined, thanks to a few quotes that established the fact that the two series were happening at the same time. It has recently been reprinted in the anthological series Il Manuale delle Giovani Marmotte, but this would be the first reprint totally focused on the saga.

Donald's girlfriend, Donald's sister, Donald's relatives and Donald's friends. - Duckverse characters

I will be posting some of my old drawings and I am posting new drawings related to certain characters from the Duckverse and the classic Disney universe from comics, cartoons and video games that I love and I am posting them separately.

The first drawing is Daisy Duck and yes Donald's girlfriend, and aunt to April, May and June, but definitely she is a special person that I love in the Duckverse. I drew her in Ducktales 2017 style in a beautiful dress, but in my own way.

The second drawing is Della Duck, Donald's sister and pilot and mother of Huey, Dewey and Louie. Although she had a role in the Ducktales reboot, she also had roles in comics, especially Dutch comics. I drew her combining the Ducktales reboot style with the Topolino style. Also, I was inspired by some drawings related to her,

The third drawing is Gyro Gearloose, a famous innovator who works for Scrooge, but helps Donald and his nephews a lot. He is also Donald's best friend. Yes, I drew him in the style of Ducktales in 1987. And there's Little Helper.

The fourth drawing is Fethry Duck, Donald's clumsy cousin who does all kinds of things just to somehow please others. He likes to help, but sometimes things go too far. Still, he's Donald's best cousin to me. I drew him in the style of Italian comics (Topolino).

The fifth drawing (new drawing) is the Gladstone Gander, Donald's lucky cousin. He is often lucky and annoys Donald a lot, although his luck is not always useful. He also has problems. Overall, I love Gladstone. I drew him in the style of Italian comics (Topolino) and he is wearing a four leaf clover as well as a horseshoe which symbolizes good luck.

The sixth drawing is Gus Goose, Donald's cousin who is often lazy and likes to eat and sleep. Although he annoys many, he is still useful to Grandma Duck where he works at her farm. Still, I love Gus. I mostly drew him based on the Italian comics (Topolino) and that he was eating his sandwich.

The seventh drawing is Grandma Duck (Elvira Coot), who is also the best parent in the Duckverse in general, because she took care of Donald, Della and her other grandchildren a lot. She is also strict, but she is also well-intentioned. I drew her based on the Italian comics (Topolino) and that she is holding a cake, as she likes to bake and cook cakes. She is also the oldest living citizen of Duckburg, although she lives on her farm and is the daughter of Clinton Coot, who founded the Junior Woodchucks.

The eighth drawing is Dickie Duck, Goldie's granddaughter. She is a very lively, exciting older teenage girl who works a lot and hangs out with her friends. Yes, she works for Brigitta and Gideon, but also helps Scrooge. She also hangs out with Daisy a lot. Plus she babysits Donald's nephews and Daisy's nieces. I drew her based on the Italian comics (Topolino).

The ninth drawing is Bertie McGoose or Grand Mogul, the leader of the Junior Woodchucks, also one of Donald Duck's best friends from childhood. He can be curmudgeonly, but mostly he does everything to help the Junior Woodchucks, in which Donald's nephews and Gyro's nephew Newton are certainly the most useful.
