Thinking about watching a play through of glitch in the system but also worried about being sad because I can't play the game for myself what should I do
I say go for it! From what screenshots I saw and a playthrough I watched it honestly looked like a great game at the time. Do whatever you feel is the right course.
I'm rewatching JackSepticEye's videos of him playing the fan game The Boss and I just noticed something. In the Stanley Parable part one of the characters is talking about the red and blue doors near exactly like the guy in Princess Bride spoke of the poisoned wine.
It's not every day you hear an announcement like this, but it's with tired hearts--but hope for the future--that we have to say that, for the good of Glitch in the System's future, the project will be changing hands.
Over the past number of years, Lily and I have done what we could to bring a vision to reality... but with everything that has happened in the later parts of development, from burnout to life changes to global issues, we've tried and tried but cannot seem to get back into the swing of things. And both of us having ADHD and being driven by passion, with our time in the JSE community being a long gone but beloved memory, the fuel to continue onward has long since been depleted.
As stated above, no, Glitch is not over. The progress that has been made is far too much to write this game off as part of the "you tried" pile, discarded, forgotten, and sad. Glitch needs to be in the hands of passionate people still within the JSE community who have the drive and will to take the baton and run with it across the finish line.
Granted, we will still be around to advise the new leaders if needed (and anyone else who still wishes to work on the project may continue on with the new team). But despite the advisory role the two of us will play, this will mostly be theirs now and I'm sure they will do the JSE community proud.
So as this chapter of SPG's history comes to a close, it is with fondness and love that we would like to say thank you for remaining with us for Glitch for this long, and we hope that you support the new devs in their endeavor.
As for us, we're not saying goodbye; Lily is enthusiastically working with a small team on the Ace Attorney fangame Truth & Consequences, and she and I will be working on our first original game for SPG in the coming months (no details as of yet, but we will announce them when ready). If you join us on these journeys, then we thank you and hope that you enjoy what is to come
Thank you for showing Sean's reply to the Egos post!! I sent him the information on the two Gamejolt Creator's who has their games taken down. I appreciate it immensely. (I think the games got taken down due to the themes rather than "Copyright" as both were pretty Violent and S€×ual in nature.) I know if I was him I wouldn't want people making games like that of my characters!! 🐍
You are welcome! :)
Hopefully that info helped a little. I'm sure nothing like that is about to happen.
I'm in the JSE community since forever and the egos were made for us to "play and have fun with" in first place.
By what I know, ego related projects, games, fanarts ecc are always more than welcome and they are always very appreciated.
Sean himself played fangames on his channel before.
Not sure about the games you are talking about though, coz I don't know them at all.
But frankly, if those were adult themed games as you said, then it makes sense if they were taken down.
By what I know, now is no longer allowed to post that kind of content on Gamejolt? I guess? (Or at least, this is what I've heard.)
Then, frankly, it depends how much "for adults" those games were.
In general, NSFW stuff about real people -and technically the egos are based on a real dude- is always "controversial" -let's say so- to make...Especially when such content is portrayed in a videogame form that can be played by everyone...
Anyway, glad if this thing was solved way before it could become some baseless drama fire. XD
I can't wait for Glitch In The System Chapter 2! I have been waitin for soooooo long and I cannot fucking believe how I excited I am for it to be released tomorrow! (is it tomorrow? I can't remember)
Hey guys!! I’m sure as you can all tell, the blog for this game hasn’t been very active for a while. Unfortunately, our team has decided to stop working on the game all together for numerous reasons. We appreciate all the support and artwork we’ve gotten in the past, and we are excited to see the advancement of other fan games and projects take place in the community. You’re all incredibly talented and we can’t wait to see what you guys produce in the future. Make sure you’re staying safe and taking care of yourselves.
Yes, tis that time of the year, when we are once again lacking in programmers. If you are someone who knows how to work with RPG Maker (specifically making interactible environments and text generating + adding background music and possibly some other things I don’t even know about, again I am no professional, this is why we need help) it’s YOUR lucky day!
If you harness any of the skills mentioned above (or know anyone who might), then please contact us:
- in our tumblr dms
- on twitter
- on our email adress: [email protected]
- or in our discord group
Best of luck to anyone and everyone who decides to try out, we’d really need the help around here :D
(also this is NOT something you’ll be getting paid for)
Hey guys, Dev Kody here. I know, I said I wouldn’t update until next year, but this can’t wait.
First thing’s first, we have a Discord server! If you want to join, here’s the link to it!
https://discord.gg/VEqfXX8
(Things are still a W.I.P in there. I’ll get on it ASAP, I promise)
Also, Devs Asher, S, and Mist designed our logo, and it’s absolutely stunning! Thank you so much, you guys!
We’re still looking for more people to join our little team, so if you could, please check into our Discord and let any of the Devs know you’re there to try to join our team!
Please note, you won’t get accepted immediately. The Dev room is a very open and friendly space. All of the current Devs have to like you (or at least be willing to work with you) before you’re accepted. There will be no exceptions.
Also, since we’re eight days into developing, we’ll be posting uploads twice every month on what we’ve finished. There won’t be any extreme spoilers, but there will be something posted to show that we haven’t abandoned the game.
Last thing, we have a Wiki for the game! There, you can read about the characters, and how they’ll be portrayed in-game. We’ll also be answering asks here with things about each character if we’re asked about them.
So in the new Glitch in the System game, if you enter your actual name and encounter Niko here, there’s a 4th-wall break. This is what happened when I spoke with him.
@sarcastic-pasta-games you honestly have no idea how extremely touching and emotional this was for me. Having found this during my second round in playing the game, I couldn’t stop crying for maybe 20 minutes.
I can’t put into words how sweet this is and how much it meant to me. I can only really thank you for even giving me the opportunity to be part of the crew and help out however I could, and putting up with my antics. I’m extremely happy you found my efforts and artwork worthwhile and “friggin’ awesome” XD So thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I look forward to doing the rest of the chapters with y’all ^w^
I can only imagine what will happen if @therealjacksepticeye encounters Niko in the game XD
Heya guys, i am currently working on a game with an amazing team. The game is called:
