Whatever Happened To Josh Rosen

After a successful college career at UCLA, Rosen had the exact opposite when he landed in the NFL.
Rosen was taken 10th overall by the Arizona Cardinals, the 4th quarterback selected, just behind Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, and Josh Allen. However, the UCLA star and the Cardinals still had to hope for a successful franchise.
"I promise you will not regret this," Rosen told former Cardinals GM Steve Keim after he got drafted. "We're going to win some Super Bowls. I promise you."
Josh Rosen was under his first year with first-year head coach Steve Wilks. As they entered the season with high hopes and weapons like the future hall of fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and running back David Johnson, it seems the team could shoot at the very least an 'improving season.'
The Cardinals finished 3-13 and last place in the NFL. The team was dead last with 225 points. (14 PPG). Roses finished his rookie year in the NFL with 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, with the only highlight that year being beating the Green Bay Packers in Lambeau on a game-winning drive.
The season was so disappointing that Steve Wilks was fired after his first year as head coach.
On January 8th, 2019. The Cardinals hired former Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury after rumors were circulating that The Cardinals would draft Texas A&M quarterback Kyler Murry. This would mean that Rosen was going to get traded.
Kingburry just did as the rumor was told. The Cardinals drafted Murray with the #1 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. The very next day, Arizona traded Rosen to the Dolphins for a second-round pick.
However, there was yet to be an answer for what the Dolphins had in mind for the former 10th pick overall. Rosen was listed behind quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and just ahead of 3rd-string quarterback Matt Haack.
Josh Rosen played in 6 games, starting 3. He completed 53% of his passes, throwing for one touchdown and five interceptions. He was then released in September 2020.
The former UCLA star remained positive: "I was drafted in the first round, and I think people around the league still think I can play to a certain extent. Whenever that opportunity comes, wherever it comes, I just want to be prepared for it," Rosen said via ESPN.
Josh would find new light after signing with the San Francisco 49ers in December 2020. However, he did not get any playing time at the bay. He was released in August 2021 after being unable to compete for a roster spot behind Trey Lance and Jimmy Garapollo.
The Atlanta Falcons' second-string quarterback, AJ Macaron, suffered a season-ending injury in August 2021. They signed Josh Rosen, who would back up starting quarterback Matt Ryan.
Rosen only had a thread of playing time in the Peach State, playing in 3 games. Rosen did not complete more than a single pass in one game, completing 2 of his 11 passes and throwing two interceptions on the year. He was released after the season had ended.
Rosen signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns in July 2022 but was released before the regular season started. In December 2022, he was also part of the Minnesota Vikings practice squad but was released after the 2022 season ended.
Rosen is not currently on an NFL team, but he is known to have had a short shot with the NFL. As the saying goes, "You only have one shot."

I am against any legislation that allows troops to deploy to the Middle East in support roles for Israel, as proposed by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
I am against Netanyahu’s ground invasion of Gaza, which will inevitably lead to mass killings of Palestinian civilians and escalate violence. If there are any future bills supporting this, you need to vote against them and not co-sponsor.
The U.S. Constitution and the War Powers Act stipulate that only Congress can authorize the president to use military force in a foreign war, except in cases of self-defense. Previous administrations from both parties have ignored this, with unauthorized strikes in places like Syria and Libya. I want you to stand against ANY use of military force that supports Israel or hurts Palestine.
And of course, I am against the usual funding of $3.8 billion PER YEAR to Israel. This 10-year agreement began in 2016. I do not want a renewal in 2026, and in the next election, I will vote for representatives who WILL NOT VOTE TO FUND ISRAEL. I will be keeping track of how you vote now, and I will not vote for you if you decide to fund Israel in any way.
I am a single-issue voter for this. I want you to defund Israel. I do not want a single dollar spent on supporting Israel. I will be paying attention to how you vote in the upcoming weeks and months, and if you vote to fund or provide weapons, troops, or intelligence to Israel, I will NOT vote for you in the next election.
We are paying attention to the budget. We know when you're giving aid to a country committing genocide instead of helping your constituents in the USA. Both myself and tens of thousands of other constituents have spent years saying that we don’t want our hard-earned taxpayer dollars going to Israel. The lack of willingness to fund anything for American citizens, but the quickness with which you take action for Israel is telling. It is unacceptable.
As an elected official, you have the opportunity to listen to the public and stand against genocide. Israel is currently committing war crimes against Palestine. You can stop this by defunding Israel. THOUSANDS of Palestinian people have been killed, 1/3 of them children, in just a couple of days. One child every 15 minutes is being killed. YOU can prevent this by refusing to send additional weapons and funding to Israel.
We are currently spending BILLIONS of dollars EVERY YEAR on Israel. I do not want my money going towards the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians. Not a dollar more.

“The Baxters” will premiere March 28 on Amazon Prime Video. Based on the bestselling novels by Karen Kingsbury, the faith-infused family drama series stars Roma Downey and Ted McGinley.
The series follows Elizabeth and John Baxter, played by Downey and McGinley, and their five adult children. The 10-episode first season revolves around their daughter Kari (Ali Cobrin), who discovers her professor husband Tim (Brandon Hirsch) is having an affair with one of his students. Kari must find comfort in her family and faith to discover if love is a choice or if her marriage can be redeemed.
Kingsbury’s novel series has encompassed more than 25 titles since its debut in 2002. Downey has had the book under option for over a decade.
“Since the day Roma Downey asked for my blessing in making the Baxter family literary series into a televised show, I have dreamed that it might find a home on Prime Video,” Kingsbury said. “Many millions of readers are going to be thrilled over this news. It is a dream come true.”
Masey McLain, Josh Plasse, Cassidy Gifford, Reilly Anspaugh and Emily Peterson round out the Season 1 cast. Guest stars Kathie Lee Gifford, Jake Allyn, Damien Leake and Orel De La Mota join the previously announced cast.
LightWorkers Media, Will Packer Media and Haven Entertainment produce “The Baxters.” Jessie Rosen serves as showrunner. Downey, Josen, Will Packer, Kevin Mann, Brendan Bragg and Jaime Primak Sullivan executive produce, while Karen Kingsbury and Rick Christian are consulting producers.

Do you think Section 230 is pretty much going to be passed? I've been thinking about leaving the internet completely over this.
...Well, like many things, the answer is "It's Complicated,"
Firstly, for the most part, efforts to screw up Section 230 aren't direct repealing all of it so much as carve-outs that majorly weaken it, in ways that could still deeply screw up free speech.
The recent Kids Online Safety Act/EARN IT Act is being pushed for, and while it's not in committee, given the former was sent to the Commerce Committee last time and the latter to the Judiciary Committee, they're probably gonna send it next time, and you're probably going to want to call your senators if they're in said committee to tell them to kill those bills.

...Tho, in better news, the questioning in those Supreme Court suits tackling Section 230 seem to show that the justices are at least reluctant to try and do much to 230, very specifically because of how much it could fuck up.
Which begs the question, if even these fucking demons know why fucking with Section 230 is a godawful idea, what excuse do these senators have?
Point is, the efforts to undermine it aren't all at once so much as gradual and insidious. Call your senators folks, and stay vigilant.

Bob Green Raku Pottery. He tells the story:
"I have been working with clay for thirty years. After completing my MFA degree in ceramics from Southern Illinois University, I first settled in New York City and became a member of a pottery Co-op in lower Manhattan. I initially supported myself working mornings as an art handler, transporting sculptures, large paintings… anything artists and gallerists needed moved with care. In the afternoons and evenings I worked in my studio with about six other potters. I and began showing my work in galleries in the city.
In 1978 I participated in my first American Crafts Council show at Rhinebeck New York. I had no idea what to expect, and I don’t remember doing very well. I do remember meeting Josh Simpson and Nancee Meeker, as we were showing our work in the same small gallery in Soho.
In the summer of 1980 I was invited to work in the ceramics studio at Bennington College where my brother Josh was an undergraduate student. Stanley Rosen and Jane Aebersold were the ceramic faculty members at the time and at the end of the summer, they asked if I’d like to be the studio tech and visiting artist for the semester. This great opportunity lasted for four years; I never went back to New York City.
I loved living in Vermont and in 1984 I became the resident potter at the Vermont State Craft Center in Middlebury .This position provided a studio and many teaching opportunities with community members and classes for Middlebury College. I continued to produce and show work regionally and nationally. During the summer I would return to Bennington College to teach a month-long ceramics class for pre-college students. During one of these summers I started Raku firing with my students and my own work was influenced by this teaching experience.
In 1991 I became the resident potter at the Shelburne Craft School where I remained through 2001, when I married the lovely Karen Totman and moved to western Massachusetts. We live in a wonderful old farm house with an attached pottery studio. I am a full- time studio potter and occasionally teach workshops on Raku and pit-fired pottery. I continue to hone my craft in an environment where Karen's family has cared for the land over many generations. The refinement of organic elements into classical forms of the vessel vernacular has fascinated and driven me as a potter. Managing clay's malleability and fire's ephemeral effects on forms and surfaces continues to ignite my decades-long creative investigations."

Of the Senate seats up in 2024, I think the following (all things being equal) I would be confident about staying Dem (Angus King in Maine and Bernie in Vermont are both up for re-election, but they both caucus with the Dems and fairly comfortably won last time and I don't expect any changes there, but I won't list them below)
California
Connecticut
Delaware
Hawaii
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
Rhode Island
Virginia
Washington
The following I think are likely to stay Dem but it would probably be a bit of a fight:
Michigan
Nevada (Jacky Rosen got 50.4% last time, and assuming she can do what CCM did this time plus a presidential election turnout...)
Pennsylvania
Wisconsin
(These are all based on the current incumbents, btw.)
Races which would probably be a real fight:
Arizona (Sinema only barely got 50% last time)
Montana (Tester only got 50.1% last time, but he's a really good candidate for that seat, he oversaw the DSCC this election, and he would benefit from a presidential election turnout, plus in 2018 his GOP opponent got under 47% of the vote, with a Libertarian taking like 3%)
Ohio (Brown had a decent majority but Ohio's gotten redder but also with Ryan's close race against Vance and the groundwork there...)
West Virginia (Manchin got 49.57% to the Republican's 46.26%, with a Libertarian getting over 4%, so assuming he runs again and assuming he might benefit from being a moderate Dem bucking the party every so often and bringing money to WV and assuming a presidential election year turnout and and and)
Who the fuck knows what'll happen with these races:
Florida - Rick Scott only got 50.1% last time, but Florida has decisively shifted redder since 2018 and a lot of work would need to be done in organizing and campaigning plus a good candidate would need to chosen by the Dems.
Indiana: Mike Braun is retiring to run for Governor of Indiana, and last time he was elected with 50.7% of the vote (the Dem incumbent got just under 45% of the vote, and the Libertarian got almost 4.5% of the vote) so depending on who runs there it could potentially be competitive? Likely not though.
Missouri: Josh Hawley got 51% of the vote to Dem incumbent Claire McCaskill's 45.6%, but he's not especially popular and there might be potential to get it back, especially with a presidential election turnout.
Texas: Ted Cruz just barely beat Beto 50.9% to 48.3% and he's unpopular with a lot of people and Beto and other organizers in Texas have been working to make changes, so with Ted Cruz as an incumbent, the groundwork that's been laid, and a presidential election turnout?
Races staying Republican:
All the rest? lol
Mississippi
Nebraska (both seats would technically be up, but Deb Fischer got 57% last time and Ben Sasse won pretty solidly too).
North Dakota (Cramer beat Heitkamp 55% to 44%, roughly, and having lived and worked in North Dakota, it's pretty solidly red there, like one-party rule red)
Tennessee (sadly I don't think Marsha Blackburn is going anywhere unless she runs for President)
Utah
Wyoming

an up-and-coming hotshot, he knows his worth. ever since his call up from chelsea's u20 academy, he's been making waves in the premier league. this is his fourth season in the highest tier of english football, and he expects his call up to the three lions to come any day.
JOSHUA "JOSH" ARIEL ROSEN, 28. 7. RIGHT WING. ASTON VILLA.
an everton academy product, his career has spanned eight years and three clubs - everton, from 2016 through 2019, wolverhampton, from 2020 through 2022, and now, he plays his second year at aston villa. he thinks he's found his home for the rest of his career in birmingham.
CALLUM "DUCKY" ROBINSON, 19. 48. BOX-TO-BOX. WEST HAM.
west ham's most recent call up from their academy, callum's just happy to be here. he's got a lot to learn, and he's eager to learn by experience. he didn't expect to have his career with the team that raised him, so every day he gets to put on claret and blue is a good one!
