We're not well, dear. Toll the bell, dear.
As our lives dissolve we revolve
Lonely & uninvolved.
Pencil thin, we're near done in, we're
masticating maize. An empty gaze,
sitting like that for days.
Try as we may, calendars
are scattered, furnaces go cold,
wardrobes flap in tatters, you & I grow old.

@horrordestined asked : ❛ i still remember the way you said goodbye. ❜
🌻 ── it was the week for goodbyes it would seem. the smell of the hospice was dank & drab , the clinical cleaness of despair. for the past few days louis had been here sun up to sun down. hand wrapped around his father’s , never letting go. the staff come into talk to him , hear his stories. oliver hope doesn’t have any words to say , just barely hanging on by a thread. the cancer is at the stage where any day now louis will have to plan the impending funeral. he didn’t ask @horrordestined to come with him , but john came anyways. as the sound of machine beeps fills the quiet room , the words suddenly draw louis away into another memory.
it’s hard to forget that day. the day he left without a goodbye , & left john with a broken heart. louis had to hold his own together as it shattered into pieces of it’s own ; the only person who helped make the pain go away was laying here on this bed , dying. it hurts to much , everything hurts. eyes squeeze shut as the first tears in weeks pour down his cheeks. it hits him right in his chest , a grip on his heart , a chokehold on his lungs. ❝ i don’t want to say goodbye anymore john. ❞ voice thick and gravely with emotion , ❝ i have none left in me. ❞
