I see someone beat me to sending in one of my CSI Miami boys, but I have one more to submit to the collective whump hivemind!
Jesse Cardoza - CSI Miami
Propoganda incoming:
Exhibit A: looks like a literal puppy 90 percent of the time, pic above is just his default setting
Exhibit B: Got caught up in a hostage situation on his first day at work (episode 8x02)
Exhibit C: Got stung by a dangerous jellyfish and responded to this by having a coworker pour vinegar on the sting, bandaged it, and returned to work (episode 8x09)
Exhibit D: SO MUCH emotional whump. Best episodes for that are 8x14 (a case he'd worked on as a rookie on patrol gets re-examined because of a decision he was talked into by his superior while taking a witness statement) and 8x16 (a man Jesse investigated in LA and suspects of having murdered Jesse's wife after he got away with killing his own is being investigated for another murder in Miami)
Exhibit E: Wears a LOT of white shirts which is an instant siren song to my brain that they would be improved with some blood stains...

“What’s wrong, H?”
Horatio doesn’t answer him, just tilts the screen so Eric can see the video playing across it. It’s an LA news site, a replay of a story that must have been broadcast last night. Two uniformed officers are escorting a taller man into a police car while a reporter stands in front of the scene, glancing over her shoulder repeatedly at the action as she talks. Probably her first big breaking story.
There’s no sound, but the captions on the video have been turned on, and while they’re not exactly spot-on, Eric can read enough to understand.
Formal charges were brought today against LAPD Detective and crime scene investigator Jesse Cardoza.
I may have gotten into this fandom a little deeper than I thought and written this in a day...
@nade2308 this is YOUR FAULT and you know it

I have nothing to say about this except that one moment I was okay, and the next moment I started shipping these two so hard that eventually something like this was going to happen. And then from one scene to the next in 8x21, Jesse went from put together to dirty and rumpled, and where the fuck did the tie go? So, I wrote him and Ryan some fun in the meantime that of course they had to follow through after the case was closed.
Enjoy.

On Tonight's Episode of, "Jessica Watches the CSI Franchise 20 Years Too Late":
I was not really attached to Cardoza at all, but I'm very upset that I had to sit through another slow-mo, sad music, autopsy scene because you KNOW all I was thinking about was how much I still miss Speed.

Oh My God. I just realized something so sad about CSI and Miami. At the start of season 9 for both shows, they lost a beloved character who was murdered... Warrick Brown and Jesse Cardoza!!! They were both killed at the start of the season with all their teams greatly saddened and were able to seek justice for their fallen friends. I swear both those episodes make me cry, but Warrick’s death is the biggest tearjerker of them all.
Out of every major character who was killed in the CSI franchise, Warrick’s death was the saddest ever and the first major TV character death I ever dealt with. I swear in his final episode I cried from start to finish. There isn’t a single moment where I wasn’t crying, but the very last scene with his funeral was the saddest of the entire episode.

Things made me cry (CSI: Miami version)
-When Calleigh helped Eric after his return to work and kissed him on the cheek (Season 5);
-Speedle’s death and Horatio’ reaction (Season 3);
-When Natalia told Horatio about her relationship whit her ex-husband Nick, righ the day he died (Season 5);
-Marisol’s death and the moment Eric found out (Season 4);
-When Eric went mad that time Ryan got a nail in his eye (Season 4);
-Everytime Calleigh’s father was on the screen;
-That time Eric told Calleigh he was about to leave the team (and even her) and she tried to pretend but died on the inside and was barely able to hold back tears (Season 8);
-When Horatio told Eric he can’t lost even him (Season 8);
-When Eric talked about Calleigh with the social assistants to make them understand that she wasn’t alone (Season 10);
-Alexx Woods everytime she called someone “honey”;
-Calleigh’ reaction after Hagen shot himself in her gun room (Season 3);
-When Ryan got so mad the first time Eric was shot (Season 5);
-That time Eric cried at the hospital remembering Marisol is dead (Season 5);
-When Eric made a (big) mistake and Calleigh didn’t know how to say it without hurting him (Season 5);
-When Eric saw Speedle’ ghost and talked to him/it (Season 6);
-Cardoza’ death and Walter’ reaction (Season 9);
-When Calleigh cried holding Alexx, scared that Eric can die for (also) her fault (Season 8);
-That time Eric put the ring on the finger of the girl... and don’t tell me that he wasn’t thinking about Cal in that moment (Season 8);
-When Ryan told Eric about his bully who broke his telescope and at the end of the episode he found out one in his locker... and I always thought it was a gift from Eric... (Season 9);
-Last but not least... the way they (all, not just the main charachters) are a family, caring about each other... just for an example, Frank’s reaction when Eric was shot the first time.
All my ramblings

Unfortunately, Jesse's luck, and whatever divine providence has been watching out for him all this time, had just run out.
He really shouldn’t have packed a white shirt as his backup.
That had been asking for trouble.
@nade2308 I blame you entirely for convincing me I would enjoy this show and being right. I love the found team family, especially how Horatio seems to adopt everyone he works with, and of course, because Jesse is a precious sad puppy of a character, I can't seem to keep from making his life hurt even more...

CSI: Miami Hogwarts Houses
Ryan and Eric I’d both put in Gryffindor for the same reasons. They both have a certain recklessness and a tendency to act without thinking that’s pretty characteristic of Gryffindor. They always stand up for those without a voice, do what they think is right, and don’t hesitate to rush in and help those who need it, often with little regard for themselves, whether it’s for their health and wellbeing or even their job. When they get knocked down, they always come back fighting. Their pride can get them into sticky situations. Loyalty is also very important to both of them.
Speed spent much of his school years in the library, reading everything he could about the various sciences. He’s curious and a quick learner and, given enough time, can solve any puzzle put before him. And though he tries to hide his emotions behind a blasé façade, he feels very deeply, and he genuinely cares about and wants to help people. He’s a strong candidate for both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff.
Calleigh you could make a strong case for in any of the Houses, but I’d put her in Slytherin. She’s ambitious, even if that ambition isn’t career-oriented; it’s what got her out of Louisiana. She’s cunning and smart as hell and knows how to play to people’s perceptions of her to get what she wants.
Alexx is without a doubt a Hufflepuff. She cares deeply for people, living and dead, and makes sure that everyone who comes through her morgue gets the proper care and attention. She believes in second chances but also recognizes when all the second chances in the world won’t do anyone any good.
Natalia is a Gryffindor. She’s very loyal—she was an FBI mole as part of the requisites for them transferring her to the Miami-Dade crime lab, but she refused to betray the team and only reported back good things about the lab. She’s brave and fierce, and she doesn’t let the terrible things that happened in her past stop her. She got her field certification and worked hard to pass her weapons proficiencies despite her difficulties with guns because she felt she could do more good out in the field rather than solely as a lab tech.
Jesse just feels like he should be a Slytherin; it’s a gut feeling more than anything. But he keeps his personal life and his past very close to his heart, so if you don’t know him, don’t know his motivations, he may seem untrustworthy, though he’s a good guy and cares deeply about those close to him. He would do anything to protect them and those he feels are his responsibility. If he tells you about himself, it’s because he trusts you completely. Plus, the whole Anna thing, the way he followed and kept an eye on her, the way he snuck in (completely legally, even if the bug wasn’t) to bug her murderer boyfriend’s place, the way he asked Natalia out for drinks to get her off his case, never intending to actually follow through, it all seems pretty Slytherin.
Walter is a Hufflepuff. He’s kind, hard-working, loyal, and a good friend. His desire to help people is what led him to becoming a cop.
Horatio I’d put as Slytherin. He puts the people he cares about, whether they be his family/the team or an innocent getting screwed over by the system, above all else—which isn’t strictly Slytherin, no, but the way he’d do anything for them, including bending, breaking, and finding ways around the rules, is.
