The era of 5-10 second intros, The Falling Skies one reminded me Jericho (static, tho analog vs digital). Then I remembered the Flashforward one which also reminded me of Jericho (light)....

TV Shows that you thought ended well?
Since I haven't seen the endings of all the shows on my profile post, I'm not counting those. Lost ended decently, and I liked how it came full-circle. Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis, PBS Poldark, Downton Abbey, Sherlock BBC (although I'm hoping for a Series 5), Home Before Dark, and Falling Skies. If I remember it correctly Jericho ended well enough too, and from what I've heard about the ending Vampire Diaries ended well, and the only part of the Supernatural finale I liked was the very last scene or two. If the hallway scene with Matt had been cut out, Primeval would've ended perfectly (still mad about that). A lot of my fandoms I've only seen clips/a couple episodes of, and for a lot of them most of my experience with it is from fanfiction.

C.b Cebulski (the guy who pretended to be Japanese & I think he’s the editor in chief of marvel comics) apparently wants Wanda & Vision to get back together 😭😭
How likely is that to be true??
https://www.marvel.com/articles/comics/this-week-in-marvel-cb-cebulski-interview-avengers-guardians-gwen-stacy
So, that's an old interview from March, and he's talking specifically about The Avengers (2023), which, at the time, hadn't even come out yet. We're now six issues into The Avengers, and there have been no new developments in Wanda and Vision's relationship. The latest issue did have something of a callback to their history together, but it took place in an alternate reality dreamworld.
The Avengers is kicking of a new story arc next month, so I don't know what's coming, and I don't know what to expect. What I do know is that Cebulski is neither writing nor editing the book itself, nor is he a part of the creative team on Scarlet Witch or SW&Q. I'm much more interested in what Orlando and MacKay have to say about Wanda's love life-- Cebulski has a lot of power in the company, but I don't believe that he typically gets to make this sort of decision on his writers' behalf. Orlando still has the most creative control over Wanda, and he hasn't done anything with her and Vision-- in fact, he's actually teased her getting back with Jericho.
As I said when this article was first published, a lot of the buzz about Wanda and Vision being on a team together felt like it was pandering to the M C U audience. The two of have them have been on teams together multiple times in the last decade, but people didn't start jumping to conclusions about it until that stupid show came out.

Kenneth Alexander Mitchell (November 25, 1974 – February 24, 2024) was a Canadian actor. He was known for his role as Eric Green in the CBS television series Jericho (2006–2008) and for portraying various characters in Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2021).
Mitchell began his acting career in commercials and independent productions. His first major roles came in Leap Years and Odyssey 5.
In 2014, Mitchell was cast in ABC'sThe Astronaut Wives Club television drama series, playing the role of Deke Slayton. Mitchell played three recurring Klingon characters in Star Trek: Discovery: season 1's Kol and season 2's Kol-Sha (Kol's father) and Tenavik. He also appeared in season 3 as Aurellio, a character whose use of a wheelchair-like device matched Mitchell's real situation with his progressing amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) disease; Mitchell hinted that he would be seen in season 4 playing a character who, like Mitchell's progressing situation, has lost the use of his voice. Mitchell was cast in the FXThe Old Man by Dan Shotz, a friend of Mitchell's who was also an executive producer on Jericho. The role also incorporated Mitchell's condition into the character. (Wikipedia)

You know what I like but question about to myself re CBS’ Jericho is that it both got and was ahead of it’s studio awareness re the abuse of that  war and America versus business and it’s government in bed with business. It leaned into community and togetherness and care for survival, while not villainizing the people of before or after or outside, only in terms of if you were part of the plan to harm. Jake and town were against New Bern, and Constantino, because they planned and incited harm as a first defense, that was the most unforgivable. But they weren’t the main bad, like Ravenwood, who harmed first and for profit alone.
But like this show is both ultra in line with no ra ra patriotism, with you need community and science and smarts, where the black guy is mastermind and best badass...so liberal yay...AND same time ultra conservative guns great blazing, self defense needed, anti big gov, small town value of we form a wagon circle and sometimes that means fuck outsiders.
I love that it appeals to both ends. That nowadays and then there was such a divide, and Jericho was like these identity and defined two sides...NOPE, not in our show. It’s makes it so simple. Almost too simple but it’s what makes it heartfelt for me. That no one watching has to feel like they are gonna be the outsider or the bad guy, or the group to fight against. That the show relied on if you care about your family, and others, if you are just trying to survive and help, you aren’t the bad. Very important, come together. Do something. We fight to live.
Again the show was smarter, smart enough to say your enemy is not who you are pitted against, but those with the power using it as a means to make you conflict instead of using it for solutions.
And in that sense her series ending towards civil war was genius. War being a tool, for conflict in violence incited outright or the change through conflict. A nuke is genius. A tool for the powered, conflict and destruction, or for energy and production.

Neil Turitz on Synderverse Fans
I read this article written by columnist Neil Turitz about Snyderverse fans titled “The Accidental Turitz: Warner Bros. Learned the Hard Way Not to Give Zack Snyder’s Rabid Fans What They Want”.
When did Snyderverse fans develop this reputation for being rabid or bullies?  Because they had instigated a campaign for Warner Brothers Studio to allow Zack Snyder to release his own version of “Justice League” . . . after the 2017 movie was butchered by Joss Whedon and Geoff Johns?  I mean . . . the movie was butchered.  Very few people will deny it.  Snyderverse fans are not the first and last fan base to use petitions to get what they want.
Fans of the CBS series, “Jericho” had embarked on a campaign and submitted a petition to convince the network to overturn their decision to cancel the series and give it a second season.  I don’t recall anyone describing them as “rabid”, “fanatic” or bullies.  So, why did the media decide to dump these labels on Snyderverse fans?  And why was it a crime to request or demand, if you will, that a director’s original vision of a movie is given a chance to be seen?  Because that is all many of these fans wanted.  And nothing else.

The Flashpoint Interview
Hi again, today i'm bringing to you an interview of Erik to pop culture website UGO, which he speaks about his work as a guest star in "Flashpoint", a canadian drama serie, in addition to his other works on TV and movies. The interview, in case, is from 2008 and (again) the link to the original source is down…
Erik Knudsen - Flashpoint Interview
By Bill Paris
If you were a fan of Jericho, you know Erik Knudsen. And if you weren't, you very likely saw him play Daniel Matthews in Saw II. Knudsen has been pretty busy since surviving nuclear war and Jigsaw. In addition to filming the new comedy, Youth in Revolt, Knudsen is guest starring on the recently debuted CBS series Flashpoint. Knudsen plays a former drug addict, trying to change his life. (Extra bonus for those in Jericho withdrawal...Kenneth Mitchell, who played Eric Green, will be guest starring in the August 3rd episode. Check back for our interview with him.) We recently got a moment to chat with Knudsen about what he's been up to since Jericho's final episode. By the way, Flashpoint's debut on July 11th won the night for total viewers. Probably won't have to send anything to the studio to keep it on the air, huh? Knudsen's episode airs Thursday July 24th.
UGO: So, we've all been missing Jericho since it went off the air. What have you been up to since then?
Erik Knudsen: Been up to a couple of things. First thing I was up to after that, was a show for Lifetime called My Teacher's Crime. Basically, it's a story...it was a movie of the week...it's a story about my uncle and me tricking a teacher, and suing her for hitting on me and stuff like that. So I did that, and then I did an episode for Flashpoint, which is a new show for CBS...really, really, really good. I did one episode for that. And now I'm working on a feature film with Michael Cera, called Youth in Revolt. I play his best friend, Lefty. It's a comedy and it's really, really good. A really good cast.
UGO: We heard that Flashpoint won the night for total viewers when it premiered. I know your episode is airing this Thursday night. Tell me a little bit about the show and the character you play.
EK: Yeah, I think they got 8.8 million or something in viewers the first night, which was amazing for that time slot. Basically the show is about...it's based out of Toronto, which is really nice because that's where I'm from. It's about the SRU, which is the Strategic Response Unit in Toronto...I talked to the creator, and this is based off of one incident in Toronto where...there was an incident in front of Union Station where a guy grabbed a girl, true story, this guy grabbed a girl and held a gun to her head, threatening to kill her in front of everyone. It was on the news...they stopped broadcasting our news and all of a sudden, the sniper for ETF, the Emergency Task Force, shot and killed the guy that was holding the gun to her head. And so basically it's all based on this; on the after-effects. On what affects these guys, and the therapy they have to go through to recover from killing someone, and the high stress. They said the "flashpoint" is when they go into a situation, and they're reacting in a flash. So it's all about this SRU unit and how stressful their jobs are. So it brings some respect to their jobs, basically.
For my episode, I play Jackson, who's a troubled youth. He was a former drug-user and is now sort of trying to get on the clean path. He's been sober for eight months. So he's trying to clean up. His family is kind of on the iffy side about him. They're not sure whether he's gonna do it or not. And he's trying to prove it so bad, give the money back that he owes them. But in order to get the money back, he finds himself in a tough situation...the whole SRU unit comes in at the end. Can't really give away too much. (laughs)
UGO: Do you get any good stunts in your episode?
EK: Yeah, they used a lot of squib-loads and stuff like that. I mean, I remember when we were doing a scene they asked me if I had hearing protection in because, usually when they do squib-loads, they use half loads of real gun powder...with semi-automatic guns they use lots of squib-loads. So yeah, there a couple of special effects.
UGO: So what do you think it is about cop dramas that keep drawing people back?
EK: I don't know. I think it's such an interesting job. I mean, for instance, rubber-neckers on the street...when we were filming, because we used real Toronto police cars, and we'd get such huge crowds because people are still interested in what they're involved in. Still interested in the dark side. They want to know what's going on....I don't know. With this one I think what's drawing people is the SRU unit...no one really knows what they do. They're kind of hush-hush. I mean you see cops on the street everyday. You don't see the ETS on the street everyday. And it's such an elite group of people. And they're only called into the most dangerous situations, like hostage situations...they deal with situations that no one wants to be in, but are so interesting to watch. So I guess people are interested just to see what they do and the kind of stress that they go through. The creator was telling me that the reason they're making this show is because they said it was three times more likely to die from a suicide for a police officer than it is to die in the workforce. They found that very interesting. It's not mandatory to do therapy for a cop. They're trying to make it mandatory. It's such a depressing job. Well, not a depressing job...it's such a great job for them, but they're dealing with the worst of the worst every day and it can probably kind of get to you.
UGO: Do you prefer doing a film or a television series?
EK: I don't know, they both have their good sides. Film is a lot slower and you can take your time and there's a lot more preparation. For Jericho, for the second season, we were shooting a whole episode in six days. I mean, it's an hour episode too, so you have to really jam through it. And sometimes it's really, really fun to do it like that. So they both have their good sides...it was good after Jericho to work on a film just because it was a lot of work. On Jericho, my character was filming for thirteen hours a day. It was very fast-paced. And when I was doing Youth in Revolt, it took four hours to do one scene. It was amazing. With Jericho you have to get it up in an hour in a half.
UGO: When you do a genre show like Jericho, especially such a fan favorite, you tend to get recast in the same sort of show. How would you feel about doing another genre series?
EK: Oh, yeah! Totally. Dale was a sweet character. When I first got cast for it, I had no idea what he was in store for. He did a complete 360. So as far as playing more characters like Dale...I mean Dale wasn't even a certain character. He was the nice guy, he was the evil guy...so it's good that I get to play certain characters like that. It's fine to be in a show like that because it continues on for so long and there's so much room for changing your character I think.
UGO: Since you're on set a lot, I have to ask you if you're a gamer.
EK: Oh yeah!
UGO: So which ones do you like?
EK: Um, there's a lot. (laughs) I was trying to buy Mario Kart last night, but they don't have that anywhere. GTA 4 I love. I just bought Battlefield: Bad Company for Xbox 360, and that's really good. And every night...it's kind of really geeky...
UGO: You're talking to the right person here.
EK: (laughs) Ok, well, me and my friends, we call it "Mario Party". They work at a movie theatre so they get off at like 12:30 am, so once they're done we all go over to each other's house and we bring Mario Party bring four Wii remotes and have a "Mario Party".
Flashpoint airs Thursdays at 10 pm on CBS.
