For some reason this is the time of year where the game Don’t Starve takes over my life, hence the inactivity. Little doodle for now, back on a regular schedule tomorrow :)

Waiting for sunshine I've been playing a ton of Don't Starve Together with my friends, this game is brutal and is everything that I expected from Minecraft back when I bought the alpha almost 7 years ago. My favorite character from the game is Wigfrid the Quasi-Valkyrie, and so I decided to attempt a blend between my style and  @jeffagala‘s wonderful sketchyness.

4. how often do you draw?

I try to at least doodle every day! I’m pretty slow at finishing pieces since the development of my tourettes bc its caused chronic pain due to my physical tics but I still draw all I can!

Not on tumblr are Christy Hui ( creator of Xiaolin Showdown ), Kenn Navaro ( creator of Happy Tree Friends and working on some other new shows too, love his art direction and use of color so so much ), Marcel Marceau ( ok maybe his paintings aren’t moma material but I have so much interest in people who can take a concept and paint of picture for you just with their body language, there is such mad respect for mimes. just mimes in general ), and honestly Scott Cawthorn for taking a simple but fresh new game mechanic as a hobby and it instantly becoming so so huge and loved

But yeah all these ppl ^ beautiful miniatures or sculptures or animations or use of shape or lines or colors or composition or style or more than one of those things or all of them. All my favorite artists inspire me. If I tagged you or even if I didn’t seeing your stuff makes me wanna make stuff too and even if you’re just a teenager drawing for fun right now never, ever doubt your ability to make a career out of your art. Keep doing it if you love it. Nobody else in the world has had all the same influences and life events and experiences as you, and all this impacts your art somehow. If you’re drawing what you see through YOUR eyes and not what somebody is asking you to see and your art is looking how you feel, nobody’s gonna match it bit for bit. A lot of you are adults who have been through art school or even professional work and already know this but I’d love to see you keep truckin too

10. are you right or left handed?

Right-handed! I’d really like to try to train to draw with my left too. During my animation internship when I was just out of high school I had an accident and was attacked by a tag, it scraped a major vein in my dominant arm and I was out of work for a week ( we were using cyntiqs and I couldn’t hold my arm up very long without it shaking ). It made me realize how screwed I’d be if the dog had got me just a little bit more in any other direction or if I just flat out lost the arm.

11. warm or cool colors?

I honest to god love all colors. All colors have a place and a use. I love bright oversaturated neon greens and mucky gross yellows and muted purples and all kinds of blues and oranges and reds... There’s so many colors and so many different versions of them. They’re all great.

So right off the bat I love Don’t Starve, and I’m from the Caribbean. Naturally I jumped for joy when the Ship Wrecked expansion came out! Caz omg it’s like a Caribbean Don’t Starve! How could I not like it right? Anyway me and my friends play Don’t Starve Together all time (Totally waiting and hoping the Shipwrecked expansion comes to DST) and when they released the Shipwrecked crockpot menu I just thought man it would be cool if they actually had some Caribbean food that we eat down here. I also really enjoyed Warly because he actually looks like he’s from the islands! So i thought what if he had, certain dishes that only he could make with his special crockpot... like he’s the restaurant owner of the Don’t Starve world, anyway before I go blabbering on So heres some Don’t Starve Shipwrecked food fan art! lol Thanks to the amazing @jeffagala  and Klei for this game and the art style I just love.  Check me out on facebook for more my stuff
