One of the many things I love to do is to browse old catalogues of past auctions. Hôtel Lambert, Une Collection Princière, Paris. @sothebysfr recently announced a landmark upcoming auction of contents from one of Paris’ most beautiful private residences, Hôtel Lambert. The hôtel was built by the masterminds behind the Palace of Versailles; Louis Le Vau and Charles Le Brun. The residence has been home to some of histories most famed and celebrated people from Voltaire, Baron de Redé and the Rothschild family. Guests to this hôtel particulier have included Frédéric Chopin, Eugene Delacroix, Franz Liszt and later Salvador Dali, Comtesse Jacqueline de Ribes, Princess Grace of Monaco to name a few.
