As it turned out, being scrappy and resourceful paid off in a town that functioned on the barter system. It was only two days after her encounter with Xavier and Jackie had already found and acquired a skateboard in relatively good condition.

That was the easy part. Staying upright on it was another story.

After tripping for the fifteenth time, Jackie let out a loud sigh and simply laid back down on the pavement, staring up at the sky until it was suddenly blocked by a human-shaped silhouette. "'Sup," she greeted, gesturing toward the skateboard that lay next to her. "Apparently these things have a steep learning curve."

Aster suspects his brother’s new friend of being an Octoling soldier, and will do anything to keep her away. Even if that means taking extreme measures. But he’s not as good as hiding his plans as he would like to think.

So I finally managed to put together a cover! This is just going to be a fun little short comic for some of my OCs, set in the time-frame of Splat1. As of right now there’s no upload schedule, but I might try for one a week. We shall see!

finished cursed princess club!!!! SO wholesome!!!

-imo, i still really like all the arranged marriage ships, so my headcanon is that even if the engagements are broken, they get back together at a later date anyway, once blaine resolves his issues and maybe visits a certain monastary. i do think lorena/lance/suzie happens.

-i still don't really like leopold/jamie as a ship? i really tried, and i just... don't see it working out, even if i like jamie falling for leopold! i still can't figure out why i don't like leopold returning those feelings??? all of princesses' romances had such fun manic energy to them, but that was also them finding common ground... whereas jamie's fun manic energy kind of just... worked negatively on leopold, so from leopold's perspective, yeah, i can see him loving jamie as a friend, but more than that, i'm just... not convinced.

-i'm still v. surprised that leland didn't declare his unrequited love for jackie tbh??? to me, he's been in love with jackie for such a long time, marrying isolde only because jackie/lilyth were going to get married too. whatever, i'm still v. charmed by them, and i think they could work it out after some relationship councilling or whatever, what's a couple of revenge schemes among friends and potential incest implications with the whole plaid/pastel marriages happenings.

-i imagine prez/whitney get back together. he may not be rich, but she bears him four children anyway, and they're beautiful together.

-not sold on aurelia/cronis. i liked aurelia's redemption storyline, and her reading the diary when prez told her not to. but... didn't care about her dating life. i do kind of wish she had more panels with her bestie tho.

-monika/orson cute as hell!

-thought i was going to get some syrah/saffron declarations of love, and well... so sad that didn't happen!!!!! oh well, at least i get them both admitting that they had crushes on each other at different points of the story!

-loved the witch having a friendship with lilyth!!!!! so cute!!!!!

-lobsters are eternal in their love for each other!!!!! super adorable that he went and got himself cursed too bc he missed her so much!!!!

-i do love that gwen is gwen's true love. she broke the curse. she learned to love herself whole again. and sure, she has days that she struggles, but... she is surrounded by people she loves.

-i'm so glad bozart did nothing wrong in his life, ever. and went on to live happily ever after with his clown posse.

-i love how intricately plotted everything came to be!!! it was so well done!!!

-i'm gonna miss the chaos. it got so chaotic and so fun so quickly!!!

What the height of CPC characters? we could use some as standard comparison (like Frederick, but his height changes so much it's become unreliable) to compare them w others

^ Gwen is the shortest among her sisters, Monika is shorter than Gwen tho (supposedly) - but then let's compare more. Ah for short groupie princesses we have Abbi [15 y.o] as likely the shortest, then Monika [21 y.o] and then Gwen [16 y.o]

JAMIE AND LEOPOLD IS HERE!! Took them long enough lmao. And this whole time, Jamie knows?? I guess that explains why he never says anything even tho Gwen was thinking about the cpc while making the brownies.

Seeing her reminds me of the theory in discord about how this woman might be Lance's mother because of biological similarities.

I wonder what Isolde is preparing? Maybe something related to that parliament thing?

"What?" Stacy gasps. "That's—i-is that possible?" She looks at Scarlet and Saffron. "Can magicians create... Places?"

"We make CPs all the time," Scarlet says slowly.

Sam shakes, like They're shaking Their head. NO. THOSE ARE DIFFERENT.

"Sam says those are different, I think," Jackie relays.

"I keep forgetting you can sort of understand Them," Marvin mutters. "Anyway. Yeah I get what They mean. The Place was, like, naturally forming, a-and it was hard to access. The CPs you guys make with magic are pretty, uh, consistent with their access."

Scarlet frowns. She looks at Saffron, who is thoughtful. "Making a CP is like... putting a sticker on a piece of paper. A naturally forming Place is like a wrinkle in the paper itself. So... Iris would've had to fold the very fabric of space itself."

That sounds incredibly difficult, JJ says. Can she do that with her magic? I thought magicians had a limited reserve.

"Hey Stacy," Chase says. "Didn't you mention there was energy from, uh, our Place in those weird crystals?"

Stacy's eyes widen. The magicians gasp in unison.

"And so was the corruption and Sam's power," Schneep recalls. "It is possible that, with those three things, and that strange other type of energy... that she would be able to do this."

"I-if she somehow created a natural Place," Saffron says, her voice shaking, "then this is probably an entrance to it. This... spot where that tablet lights up."

Jackie looks at the tablet. He steps to the side, then back, turning it off, then on again. "Okay," he says slowly. "So how do we get in, then?"

Pokemon Challenge Run: Pokemon Blue- No Catching

Straightforward run in that I couldn't catch anything, instead using only gift Pokemon, or bought Pokemon. This seriously limited my roster especially given how important HMs are in the earlier gens. Not to mention how absolutely difficult it is to grind EXP in the early games.

Knowing that my starter would be my saving grace from early on, I chose Bulbasaur. Nicknaming the little sprout Bruteroot since he would have to be brutally aggressive against both Brock and Misty.

My second choice of team member was the $500 Magikarp right before you enter Mt. Moon. Which I added instantly since while raising a Gyrados is a nightmare, I was headed into a place where Bruteroot would slay and Kite the Magikarp could get plenty of second-hand EXP. Though the Paras and Clefairy I ran into did give me some trouble, unlike Team Rocket and their Zubats. (Did I say that out loud?)

From here it was pretty bland, trying to dodge as many trainers as possible for future teammates to get a chance at a ton of EXP while also limiting Bruteroot and Kite to the meager scraps of EXP from the wild Pokemon. But, once I got to Cerulean... it was pretty strightforward.

I tried to dodge as many of the trainers as I could on my way to Bill's house so I could take on Misty. A fight Bruteroot was absolutely MVP as an Ivysaur, a clean sweep so I could move on. The only place I couldn't do this in was SS Anne, since I needed Cut to get the rest of my team... more or less. And with Bruteroot and Kite needing enough EXP to carry the rest until they could do it for themselves, it was the obvious choice to fight literally everyone on the boat before crushing Blue (I named him cheater as a joke because its a no catching run but here he is with all the Pokemon he could possibly catch but... calling him Blue/Gary from now on.)

Once I got ahold of Cut, I dodged the same people as much as I could, ignoring Lt. Surge for the time being. My main goal was getting the rest of my team, or as much of it as possible. I ran off to Route 10, skirting to Lavender Town and Celadon City where I was completely able to grab a ton of good Pokemon.

Ah yes, the free Eevee on top of Celadon Apartments, the Game Corner prize Pokemon. I did a lot of grinding in the Game Corner to grab a Dratini and Pinsir. The Eevee I instantly evolved into Flareon, just for type coverage sake. And with plenty of money, since I was selling as many of the free items as I could for all of these Pokemon...

But, I was able to buy Flamethrower from Celadon Department Store. Along with a few more TMs for Hogarth, the Dratini and Crunchie, the Pinsir. I also went ahead with a drink for the guards of Saffron so I could just run around freely. Also to take on the Fighting Dojo on to grab Hitmonchan, who I named Jackie. My bias of older movies showing yet?

This ended up being my final set up for the rest of the game. While that did put Lapras from Silph Co. and the other available Pokemon from the Game Corner and the two fossil Pokemon in the box. Sorry babies, I've never had this good a chance to use my favorite, later game Pokemon.

Admittedly, Flareon (Pyro) did underwhelm as a team member, but the fire type was greatly appreciated as a buffer in the League. Agatha, I'm looking at you. Cleaning up the rest of the game and it's Trainers was easy enough. I ended up fainting everything that crossed my path since EXP was rather difficult to come by without cheats or losing a ton of battles.

Another thing, while I wasn't able to use any captured Pokemon, I did still catch the two Snorlax, the Legendary Birds, and Mewtwo. While all of them could have been beaten and let go, I decided that it would be a better challenge to catch them. Even though it meant those six were also boxed.

All in all, this team was really fun to use. I've never actually used Flareon, Dragonite, or Pinsir before... let alone in a Kanto Playthrough. Of course while Gan 1 didn't have genders or Natures, I gave them personality during the play time. I had a lot of fun thinking about this, and no I didn't try to make them competitive in any way.

"Okay." Jackie nods. "Magician guys, can we possibly find that information as soon as possible?"

Saffron picks up her amulet, her eyes briefly turning golden yellow. "Seems everyone important is waking up and going to the meeting halls," she reports. "We can head right over."

Stacy nods. "Okay. I'll go and—oh wait!" She gasps and spins to Chase. "Are the kids still asleep? Will we need someone to watch them?"

"They are still asleep," Chase confirms. "I can go back if I have to but I think it'll be fine for a while."

"You're right. You're right. Probably." Stacy doesn't look too happy with that but decides to move on. "Okay. I'll go and meet up with everyone else. Who else wants to come?"

"I do," Marvin says, raising a hand.

I'll go with, then, JJ says.

"Me too," Henrik says.

"Alright, let's go." Stacy looks at Jackie and Chase. "Are you two gonna stay here?"

Jackie nods. "Maybe something will happen with this entrance."

"Yeah," Chase agrees.

I WILL STAY AS WELL, Sam adds, settling down on the ground and curling Their nerve around Them.

"Tell Jack we're working on it," Chase says quietly to you. "Tell him we're not going to leave him there."

god I can’t believe I have 2 more chapters of them as adults just being the absolute perfect match for each other to get through before they finally kiss in ch 11 (i’m maninfesting it no one say anything) I am literally going to scream.
