Would you ship Gladys Russell and Jack Trotter?
Hi anon, thanks for the question!
I think that Gladys and Jack would certainly make an interesting couple. It would be fascinating to see how Bertha would react to it in particular, considering the situation is presumably meant to reflect how her and George’s relationship began (this is assuming Jack ends up successful because of the clock.) I don’t know if it’s my favorite potential future for Gladys (I am quite a sucker for the marriage-of-convenience-turned-true-love trope tbh) but I think it could lead to some delicious drama and exploration of class (two things the show needs more of imo.)

Who do we want Gladys to end up with?
Archie Baldwin? Does he come back with an apology and a promise to never let her parents separate them again?
Jack Trotter? I've seen whispers about how they could fall in love once they meet after he goes into business with her brother.

So I imagine Gladys and Jack’s first encounter would be when Jack is waiting for Larry at the Russell’s library and then Gladys thought he’s one of the suitors that always pining for her attention, frustrated because of the Duke thing Gladys shuts him off before he could introduce himself properly. Amuse and confuse, Jack tried to stop her from talking but failed. Then Larry came and saw their little “conversation” then introduced Jack to Gladys properly as his business partner. Embarrassed and shocked, Gladys apologised then walk off only for Jack looking her way before she walked away then their eyes met and sparks fly and a crush was born in between them.
