George and Bertha have one of those marriages where they don’t share each other’s ambitions, but they entirely support each other’s ambitions. And it is George’s wish that his wife should get what she wants, whether he cares about it or not: [H]e knows how important it is for his wife, and he believes that part of his loyalty is to get for her what she wants. And I think she feels exactly the same. And that’s what they have in their marriage that is rather beguiling, that they are completely loyal to each other and they embrace each other’s wishes.
Again watching downton abbey and I hope I’m not the only one who thinks Mrs Hughes has like a kind of motherly relationship with Thomas?? She’s kind of strict sometimes, but she never seems to *hate* him. I think that’s quite nice to be honest.
i joke about julian fellowes too much but i am actually SCARED of that man. like, I CANNOT trust him. he will make you the happiest person on this earth and then shatter you by killing your favorite character. when i tell you i am praying for larry not to be randomly killed in a carriage accident in the s3 finale 😭😭
First I think of Bertha and George Russell, then of Cora and Robert Crawley, and I can't stop myself from shouting WHY JULIAN HAVE YOU WRITTEN SUCH SEXY MOMENTS FOR BERTHA AND GEORGE AND NOT FOR COBERT?? 😭😭
