Sometimes I think about how Jack stopped referring to Renfield by name and just called him the "zoophagous patient" when Van Helsing came into the story. And its weirder when immediately preceding this, the professor asks Jack to write everything down, as he did in university, so they can assess all the information relevant to Lucy's case. Was Jack subconsciously distancing himself from Renfield, knowing Van Helsing would eventually listen to his diary?

For the record, he doesn't refer to Renfield by name, even when he gets attacked! Which is extremely bizarre. He does call him "my friend" sarcastically, but it seems awkward as we all know who it is. It's only until after Lucy's death and when Van Helsing begins to convince him about vampires that he mentions Renfield by name again. It's such a small detail but it's SO dehumanising. Perhaps the grief of Lucy's passing makes Jack give up trying to be impartial. But like, seriously, what the fuck, man.

Can we ask Bethesda to give us actual tattoos in the next game and not the weird over saturated temporary tattoo looking ones we get in fo4?

tragedy is some of the oldest and most iconic literature, drama, and film there is. i feel like black trauma discourse (and its cousin queer trauma or whatever) is just people chastising black filmmakers, playwrights, etc for making the same kind of tragic (or historical/topical) stories that get lauded when white men make them. stories that everyone has been telling since the beginning of time…..its very annoying. and imo it feels like people who do this don’t read books especially not classics
