Another Dumb Owl House Exchange
Collector: alright Belos here’s what you need for your fake magic staff since you can’t do anything with a Palisman without thinking of lunch. Listen carefully cuz we’ll need this stuff to play later
Belos, with notepad: I’m listening.
Collector: you’ll need parsley and ivy, something knifey, broken galderstone, ivory chrome, handful of basilisk scales, two of—
Belos: Wait, why do they rhyme?
Collector: huh?
Belos: These ingredients. They rhyme.
Collector: it’s a learning trick, to help you remember! Plus it’s all kind of fun
Belos: ….go on.
Collector: handful of basilisk scales, two of thunder hail, copper wire and palistrom spiral, lots of Titan nog, and last but not least, updog
Belos: What was that last one?
Collector: last what?
Belos: The last component to make this artificial magic staff. I never heard of it. What is…updog?
Collector: *smiles and inhales*

(Sorta Random) Hunter headcannons.
Cuz this boi is my best boi.
(And Gus too! And a few others! The list goes on a bit.)
Also, these headcannons might not be 100% in character, because A) they’re headcannons and B) im not the one who wrote the characters in the show, im just taking what i saw and running with it. You’ll never catch me! >:3c
Tws: talk of toxic behaviour, child abuse, trauma, emotional abuse, abandonment issues, conditional love and kindness, unhealthy relationships, trust issues, this is hunter were talking about i mean really.
Okay, so, I’ll bet you 5,000 snails hunter wasn’t taught how to deal with his emotions
Or anything relationship wise
Or what a healthy relationship is or anything to do with toxic behaviour because if he knew any red flags and stuff he’d rebel against Belos faster. Information is key in his situation really.
So he doesn’t realize anything he’s doing might be toxic, leading to him having difficulty making friends or keeping them. It really isn’t his fault, but that doesn’t mean he cant do anything about it. So he learns! Once he’s out of the coven of course….
It also means he wouldn’t understand if someone was being toxic to him. And I don’t mean someone shouting “hey punk! Give me your lunch or I’ll hurt you!” Or something like that, he’s sheltered, not daft.
He wouldnt let someone push him around but if someone were to insinuate their friendship isn’t unconditional or were to say “you cant be friends with them.” He’d question it but if they just said “theyre a bad person and theyre mean.” He’d probably listen.
When he gets out of the emperors coven and goes to the human realm I think he’d start to explore himself further. He’s in a much safer place where everything and everyone doesn’t want to kill him, he doesn’t have to keep his guard up as much anymore. But even if he realizes it, it would take him a while to actually get comfortable but when that happens he’d start looking around for hobbies.
Because I think he likes to keep his hands busy he’d probably like knitting, crochet, sewing and perhaps even drawing! Luz’s mother would 100% give him resources as long as he asked. I think she’s just sorta the type to leave you be until you asked or really needed help and stuff
Hunter would get into history and books, I feel like he wouldn’t like fantasy that much because of how different humanities view on the magical and mythical is from his reality. He might get intrigued by a few things though.
So in the coven I feel his emotions were pretty stunted, same with his person but a few things I can get from him is he is very loyal and fiercely protective. It takes quite a bit to get him to leave someone. Speaking of leaving.
This boy has ✨abandonment issues✨ (don’t we all tho? I mean like, you’re here, aren’t you??)
And everything he’s been given is conditional. He even said himself that chances have to be earned. The fear he showed in eclipse lake? Just how irrational he became out of fear of failure? He doesn’t get love for free, he doesn’t get kindness for free, everything is a ploy to gain your favour, everything has an ulterior motive. Just because he isn’t with Belos anymore does not mean any of his trauma magically disappeared.
Because a lot of people are willing to backstab you in the coven (I bet it’s a very “dog eat dog” kind of environment) hunter would have trust issues as well. He’s scared of people leaving him but he’s scared of letting people close.
It’s a steep learning curve for him but eventually he starts to trust others more often and stop being so scared of them leaving.
Another thing I gathered about his personality is that he is very protective, he’s willing to put his life on the life for those he cares about.
Another thing is he can be very patient. When the time calls for it.
He’s also very dedicated and is self-disciplined. If he saw a pile of dirty dishes or his room was messy he’d go “I should clean that.” And then he would. He is god tier in being self disciplined.
I believe he can not cook to save his life. Absolutely the worst. It will be burnt and he’d put it in the freezer to try and make it not burnt. He’d try his best and it just wouldn’t work. I’ll bet he does however have a green thumb.
Feels guilty for all the wrong he’s done as the golden guard and everything the golden guard represents so he’d try to make up for it.
He just wants to be a good person and do good things. He wants to make people happy and he wants others to be proud of him. He craves validation and love but he needs to learn how to give it to himself first.

I don't know why but I feel like Lilith would have a break down when it clicks in her head that she's an aunt. Probably also a panick attack as well if her brain hasn't switched from seeing Eda as a child to seeing her as a adult. Because the Eda she remembers wouldn't be capable of taking care of a child.
AUNT LILITH AUNT LILITH AUNT LILITH
Lilith discovers that Eda’s “pet human” is actually her adopted daughter and she has a WHIRLWIND of emotions. Shock, confusion, horror, panic, mild amusement, disbelief, etc. On one hand, it explains why Eda lost it when she took Luz, on the other hand, how the hell is this kid not dead.
Lilith had seen Eda around as they grew older, but she’d always see Eda as an immature criminal who’s seconds away from causing the next natural disaster. And you’re telling her she has a kid now? Eda, in her mind, is way underqualified to raise a child. God forbid Luz wasn’t a teenager, she’d be dead in a week!  This, of course, leads to a few...interesting situations.
Due to her having absolutely zero trust in Eda, after all, she swapped bodies with this kid, had her cheat in a witches duel that could’ve seriously hurt her, and go into the Emperor’s Castle on a field trip (granted Eda had no idea of that last one), Lilith sort of takes it upon herself to make sure Luz doesn’t die. It’s kind of her way of saying sorry while also not wanting to face the wrath of Eda if anything happened to this kid, whether or not it was Lilith’s fault. Because as much as she believes Eda should not be within fifty feet of children, she clearly loves this girl. And that doesn’t really go well. Luz, being the one Lilith could’ve seriously hurt or killed regardless of how much she says she wouldn’t have actually killed her, isn’t exactly a big fan of Lilith. The added bonus of causing a lot of the suffering of her only mother figure in this realm just piles onto the dislike. So Lilith trying to be her ‘protector’ of sorts didn’t go over as well as Lilith hoped.
Luz is a tough kid, and she can Usually handle herself. And having Lilith of all people start checking her over and making sure she’s okay not only makes Luz feel like Lilith is undermining the fact she fought Belos and won, but it also feels like she’s obviously just looking to be forgiven for her mistakes by suddenly being nice. Leaving Luz to fight Lilith at every corner she tried to help in, genuine or condescending. Course, there’s a different between making sure the fifteen year old doesn’t fall off a cliff and legitimately saving her life from the very Coven she used to lead.
After that, Luz was willing to consider Lilith was actually worried about her, and would go out of her way to assure Lilith she’s fine while trying to tame a rabies-infested ratworm. Lilith is about to have a goddamn heart attack. Amity isn’t like this. Are all humans like this? Is it cause she’s being raised by Eda? Help??? And then there was the famous Slip Up. Where Luz called Eda mom on a whim and the poor witch had an existential crisis. Lilith was on somewhat-comfort duty for a while. But it wasn’t until a few days after Eda and Luz had calmed down that the thought suddenly slipped into her mind without prompting; “Huh, I guess I’m an aunt now.”
The sheer PANIC on Lilith’s face when she realized this. No, no, no no no. She only made sure that Luz didn’t die, not become her aunt. If she thought Eda was a bad mom, she’d be an even worse aunt.  Eda finds her staring at the ceiling ready to Die at like 5 in the morning and they have a little Talk. Course Luz catches on after Lilith calms down, and makes it her Mission to annoy Lilith with this as much as possible. Same thing with Beta AU, she calls her Aunt Lilith, Auntie, and Tia. For the first two weeks Lilith has a heart attack as Luz is just Snickering. Eventually Lilith gets used to it and nowadays just rolls her eyes and occasionally says something like “don’t you have some training to do, niece?” and that usually shuts up Luz for a little while. Eda is laughing because this is the funniest endearing-trash talking she’s seen
