Tumgik
#it’s also why I don’t like him AS much as Kenjaku or Mahito (who are my favorite villains in jjk). idk

Spoilers/Leaks for JJK 247❗️
I read this when I saw the fan translation was out and have been SO busy since, so my thoughts are everywhere. But Yuuji!!
Liked this chapter, although very sad over Higuruma (my favorite new character of the culling games ;-;). I expected many deaths with the Big Boss fight and unfortunately he had a lot of death flags and not much of a future :( Despite the Nanami comparisons both from fans and in the manga, he’s been a huge comparison to Yuuji for me too, with their guilt, “death wish,” and desire to fulfill their role. Not a mentor like Nanami or Todo, but closer to an equal in their attitude and approach. His fate makes me curious to what Yuuji’s will ultimately be.
I actually think Higuruma’s death was fairly well done. It’s clever that Higuruma thought of using curses from dying to his advantage. One of the better (side character) deaths in JJK, although I’m slightly confused on how RCT works since Higuruma got it. Are Sukuna’s slashes too deadly and quick for Higuruma to heal from?? If it wasn’t for his last words being a way to strengthen Yuuji, I’d say there was a chance of survival, but that’s extremely unlikely.
I’ve only quickly looked online and have both seen comments that Yuuji isn’t fast enough to defeat Sukuna and also that the blood technique was Yuuji’s??? I’m not a powerscaler so I’m possibly missing things, but I don’t know what sprung up those???
Expecting Ino (part of that new gen.) and Choso to survive this fight. At least with Choso, he needs to live long enough for Yuki’s sacrifice to not be thrown completely in the garbage.
I’m enjoying this fight SO much more than the Sukuna vs Gojo (although not as much as the recent Takaba vs Kenjaku or Yuki/Choso vs Kenjaku) especially from the protagonist side, but I mostly want Sukuna lore soon. There needs to be something else to make his character more captivating if this fight will continue. Or else it might feel repetitive and uninteresting to have the same routine of characters dying to him. There were a LOT of fans making fun of Sukuna being a cursed or neglected child, but I don’t mind having backstory, especially if we get more into his whole thing with cannibalism. On top of that, the protagonists need a small victory or perhaps even an update on Megumi for the same reason.
I’m not sure if Yuuji has RCT, but I’m inclined to think that him being unaffected by Sukuna’s attacks was a result of either being a cursed object from Sukuna’s CE or (possibly) eating his brothers (also cursed objects). Love seeing Yuuji fight and I hope Higuruma’s death isn’t in vain.
Honestly, the way this chapter ended was very cliffhanger-y and I’m expecting something to go wrong OR a classic shift of perspective. I don’t have much else to say because the direction of this chapter depends more on what I see following it. Sukuna still hasn’t used his fire powers, revealed what the hell allows him to have those powers, etc.
Hoping for some good stuff in later chapters (sooner rather than later), mostly with Sukuna’s character or the fight progressing. At least there’s around a year left in JJK—need that to be enough to conclude this and Kenjaku’s backup plan (along with character conclusions).

why do people mischaracterize gojo so much?
spoiler alert ‼️
ofc he got some problems and ofc he isn’t a saint but comparing him to sukuna, naoya, kenjaku or mahito is MAD (i’m mostly talking about the „when he’s a red flag😍“ tiktoks) or calling him a womanizer because of some mistranslations. it annoys me so much.
he may be cocky and arrogant sometimes and ofc duh that man is the strongest but calling him straight up evil and narcissistic is too much for me.
gojo is the strongest but he can’t save everyone, if he could then he definitely would but he can’t man and calling him evil for that is mad.
and yeah he was a bit cold when people got murdered infront of him in shibuya but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care or that he’s evil. i think we all know that he doesn’t show his true emotions.
he’s a complex character who went through so much shit, he lost some of his friends, he lost his BESTIE geto (mans still ain’t over him btw), he has seen people dying because he couldn’t save them and much much more. and he doesn’t show it but he does CARE ‼️ he cares for his friends and students and he appreciates them all.
and tbh I don’t think he was ever „loved“ by anyone before he met geto. his friends and students respect and admire him but LOVE? nah. do yall think he was ever loved by his clan? by his parents? do yall think he got love when he was a child ? i mean the love a normal child needs to feel secure, valued and supported and not the „love“ „the strongest“ needs.
tbh I don’t think he got the healthy type of love and that shit is traumatizing even for the strongest.
gojo definitely had A LOT of pressure and responsibility being born into the gojo clan and because of his immense power (the six eyes, limitless) and that’s why he had to grow up so fast and maybe that’s why he acts so childish as a grown up (to heal his inner child).
and then the whole break up thing with geto happened 💀💀 geto turned evil and gojo didn’t even kill him after geto murdered over a 100 people including his own parents, gojo let him roam free killing more people for over a decade (that’s pretty loyal to me idk lmaooo) like that shit must have been sooo traumatizing for gojo.
like ofc he’s going to have some commitment issues after that and some people really out here calling him a player for that. i don’t see gojo with someone romantically because of his trust issues and his big responsibility as the strongest, but I also don’t see him as some playboy cheating on his partner. gojo isn’t built like that in my opinion.
and i don’t see him as a womanizer or him sleeping around because he is the type of person who needs to have a special bond to someone to do all of that, you know? am I the only one who feels like this or? lol
that man still calls his dead bestie his one and only and now imagine him with a partner?! 😭 listen, that man is LOYAL !! he cares deeply about protecting others, he’s intelligent, he’s lovely, HES A PRETTY AWESOME CHARACTER STOP MISCHARACTERIZING HIM lmaooo
i have so much more to say about him but not today.
sorry for the typos I wrote it too fast and english isn’t my first language 😭😭 sorry !!!
SPOILER ‼️‼️‼️‼️
and i know that man is probably dead but who cares, he’s alive in my head, it ain’t gojover yall !! ‼️‼️

Hello, hello, have you seen the newest update of JJK? I'm so proud of my best boy, Yuuji....
Can, I ask, why do you think Yuuji is one of the character that is so underated in JJK? He is the mc, but many people (in fandom) treat him like a side character? At first, I don't think so, but I love many shounen, and somehow Yuuji is one of the mc that is underated in their own story....
Sorry if I'm wrong, just I love Yuuji and want him to get the spotlight he deserve....
Sorry it took me so fucking long to reply to this.
If you think that the story doesn’t focus on him enough then I don’t really agree with that but I don’t think it’s wrong of you to feel like that. But I’m not sure this is even what you meant, I just wanted to move this out of the way. And the following paragraphs will explain that a bit. That will be the nice part of this reply.
JJK isn’t a story that mainly follows one character and the plot happens only where that character is. For example, as much as I watched of Demon Slayer (I think up to season 3 and I have no interest in picking it up again ) or read of the Chainsaw Man (first part, I got bored a few chapters into the second), made me think that those stories are too focused on one character. Villains did villain things on the side but the story always came back to the main character and focused on him in the end and plot usually happened where he happened to be, and he was the one to kill the bosses. In JJK even if the story lines feed into each other, they have much more independence and it doesn’t feel that Yuuji is the centre of the universe and the story just waits for him to move. And my personal preference is for the JJK kind of story, as I said CSM and Demon Slayer didn’t manage to hold my interest.
It’s just a matter of preference. And If you’d like the story to be more streamlined around him there’s nothing wrong with that.
That being said, I think that the JJK story still strongly centres around Yuuji.
He’s connected to all the most memorable and important villains of his time (aka those that didn’t die before he became a sorcerer). He’s one of the linchpins of Kenjaku’s plan and the only one of their experiments that they seem attached to, he’s Mahito’s obsession, he’s Sukuna’s nightmare and now also obsession.
Yuuji is also strongly connected to all the major JJK themes: weakness vs strength, human connection vs loneliness, the value of life, bodily autonomy, humanity vs dehumanisation, oppressive systems of power, tradition, gender stereotypes, drive and agency, jujutsu world vs the normie world, family, love and friendship, new vs old.
I think only Kenjaku also really connects to all of these to the same degree as Yuuji does, though some of the other characters are close like Sukuna, Maki or Megumi. Gojou or Nobara aren’t that strongly connected to some of them. And characters like Getou or Yuuta are even more tangentially connected to some of them or not at all. Yuuji really is the one who brings it all together.
Here ends the nice part of this answer. Everything that follows will be rather bitter and unkind towards the JJK fandom. Because I’m really fed up with it as a larger group.

So why does the fandom treat Yuuji like shit? There are a few reasons that can be pointed to and they apply to varying degrees to the behaviour of individual fans.
__________________________________
Part 1 - This fandom is the fucking pits
The fandom in itself is absolute fucking garbage. Like interacting with it will make you lose faith in humanity and give you brain damage.
Casual fans
JJK is a fairly popular title in the west and the fandom is quite big and loud. It’s an ongoing title with a hype anime and there are a lot of casual fans. It’s full of:
People who also like many other things and don’t really follow the story closely and don’t really know the lore.
People who read/watched JJK once and haven’t really taken the time to understand the story and its world.
People who as @/cursedvibes says have issues with object permanence and don’t remember what happened a few chapters earlier, and who feel that if the character isn’t in the frame that means that they are dead and/or forgotten and/or were always irrelevant.
People who don’t really like stories like JJK but have never understood the idea of saying “this is not for me” and moving on. Instead they take it as a personal offence that this popular title doesn’t cater to their specific tastes. And they often have the delusion that their personal taste is the mark of objective quality.
People who only want flashy fights and/or power scaling.
A lot of these people feel that they need to shit out content about JJK on social media because that’ll get them into the trending tags. And since they don’t really have any opinions of their own apart from not being satisfied with JJK they find some cold take that sounds clever to them and regurgitate it over and over again until a new clever-sounding cold take becomes popular, rinse repeat.
Those people should be ignored, blocked or muted. They’re just riding some pathetic bandwagon and clout chasing.
___
Righteous Haters
The cold takes the casual fans regurgitate usually come from people who just thrive on criticising popular things. Those divide into:
The “Intellectuals” who think they are better than the plebs who like popular things. In their mind popular things can do nothing right and are by default shallow and stupid.
The “Enlightened” who will jump at any opportunity to call something problematic and emerge as the morally pure person.
It’s hard to tell whether these people actually read the story and know it well. Their takes are usually very divorced from the text and I’m always on the fence whether it’s due to genuine lack of reading comprehension or willful misinterpretation.
If you engage with these people they will argue with fucking manga panels, like they will not accept the text even if it’s presented to them. They are honestly a joke. But a lot of them will die on the hill of discrediting Yuuji and spread that opinion around wrapped in pseudointellectual language. Some of them will even put on the airs of academia without knowing how to academia a text in any of the many possible academic analysis ways. Or how to academia about social issues. It’s an intimidation tactic that makes me disrespect them.
Among the JJK enlightened you will find a lot of terfy pseudo feminism. It will be very conservative flavoured and really misogynistic, usually not overtly queerphobic but the vibe will be there, and it will aggressively bring up the general fandom opinion that Gege is a man (which may even be true but Gege doesn’t officially gender themself) to attack and discredit Gege and their work, according to the terfy belief that all men are dangerous and evil. There will also be a lot of intellectualised transphobia especially in relation to Kenjaku, but also Uraume, Tengen and Kirara. And all so funny homophobia about how in their opinion Gege is attracted to their male characters.
___
The thirsters
JJK surprisingly aggressively caters to the female and queer gaze in ways that most shounen just don’t. I once wanted to make a joke post titled “The Masculine Forearm, the true main character of JJK” just consisting of panel after panel that is angled in such a way to put the skillfully drawn male hands and strong forearms front and centre. (The masculine hand and forearm are often mentioned in relation to the female gaze.)
I gave up, there’s just too many of those, simply look at the covers. It’s really funny because Gege does not hide the forearms of Yuuji or Megumi, but at least in the earlier manga that I analysed from that perspective, the forearm angles of those two are much tamer than for example when Sukuna or Nanami are shown. It almost feels like Gege knows or subconsciously senses that the forearm is thirst, is fanservice, and Gege is very consistent about not sexualising the teenage girls and likely also the boys.
The forearm is of course the tip of the fanservice iceberg. Everything about the JJK men is very that to the point that JJK is widely known for its sexymen. There are people, including fan creators, in the fandom who have never read or watched JJK, they just learned of the sexymen thirsted hard enough to join the fandom.
These are the people who usually won’t actively attack Yuuji, they will just flood the fandom with the posts about their favs and make it seem that few people care for Yuuji.
There are also Yuuji thirsters but there aren't that many of them.
Yuuji is 15 years old in canon and some people just draw a line at thirsting over a character that is underage in canon. And as long as they don’t insult or harass others about that I don’t give a shit what they do.
But also even if Yuuji was of age, Yuuji is not a prime thirst object. He’s for a slightly more refined palette. And he becomes more desirable if you understand his character better.
On the surface Yuuji is a himbo, a dumb jock with a heart of gold and a cute face. There’s no mystique to him, no edge. This view of him is very widespread. For some thirsters that is enough but it’s not a popular thirst worthy type.
There are some thirsters who actually know the source material and know who Yuuji is but those are people who are in the JJK fandom for more than just thirst.
Generally I don’t have a problem with thirsters but the more ignorant ones contribute to the general fandom idea that there’s nothing interesting to Yuuji.
___
Gojou and SatoSugu fans
I ranted about those people a lot and everything I’ve written about them holds up. A large and loud subset of them will spam all the tags, will create posts that boil down to “JJK is about Gojou (and Getou) actually and everything that happens in JJK is about him (them), regardless if it happens to other characters”. If you don’t actually block them on sight, wading through the main JJK tags is nigh impossible.
Gojou really won the internets and is truly the “strongest” of the JJK sexymen.
The overabundance of content about him exposes a lot of people to the “meta” his fans produce in droves. I put it in quotation marks because fuck, so many of these people are allergic to canon and what they write is deranged fanfiction tagged as meta or discourse. Gojou exists in the western fandom more as headcanon than canon. And to people who aren’t really invested in JJK, he seems like the main and most important character.
There are both shippers, thirsters, casual fans and righteous haters (they hate everything about JJK but Gojou (and Getou) in this group.
And of course they influence the perception of what JJK is, including the perception of Yuuji.
___
Sukuna fans
There are some of them who will spread takes that reduce Yuuji to Sukuna’s skin suit and will generally treat Yuuji as a function of Sukuna, not a separate character. Interestingly enough, Kusakabe is one of them but he pretends to be a Sukuna hater.
___
People who think Kusakabe speaks the truth straight from Gege’s brain
Because the reading comprehension in the fandom is very poor, there are people who take whatever Kusakabe says at face value and will ignore everything else that has happened in the manga thus far. They also haven’t picked up on the fact that Kusakabe has always been deeply biassed against Yuuji.
Why is Kusakabe still alive?
And honestly not only Kusakabe, to them any character that discredits Yuuji is always correct and spot on.
___
Megumi and ItaFushi, SukuFushi fans
There is a subset of those fans that despise Yuuji with a passion. They think that Megumi either should be or is the main character of JJK. They think that Sukuna has been obsessed with Megumi from the start because Megumi is special and has incredible potential. They will pretend that the main JJK storyline revolves around Megumi, they will often ignore Kenjaku completely and pretend they are not the main driver of the story. Because admitting that Kenjaku, not Sukuna was the main villain of the story, would just by itself completely discredit Megumi as the main character, because Megumi barely any connection to Kenjaku, only through Tsumiki and Yorozu, and has only a weak, practical, plot related and not thematic connection to Sukuna. He became Sukuna’s escape plan and a tool to kill Gojou.
He has no connection to any other major villains or antagonists in current day JJK. He’s only connected to Touji and Naoya, but it can be argued that Yuuji had more dealings with Naoya than Megumi.
Yuuji’s connections to Sukuna are:
Practical - being Sukuna’s vessel and cage.
Plot related - he is Kenjaku’s way of controlling Sukuna and being Sukuna’s vessel influences everything about how Yuuji functions in the story and how he relates to other characters.
Emotional - they both harbour strong negative feelings for each other, Sukuna even more than Yuuji.
Familial - they are related. Yuuji doesn’t know and would just likely compartmentalise it. Sukuna pretends he doesn’t care but it’s clear he cares very much actually.
Philosophical - Yuuji by merely being himself challenges Sukuna’s whole worldview.
Thematic - strength vs weakness, sorcerer vs normie, humanity, value of human life, family, love, connection and loneliness, tradition, new vs old, bodily autonomy.
If those Megumi fans are shippers they will often push the dumb himbo stereotype on Yuuji. There are a lot of fics in the ItaFushi and FushiIta tags that will treat Yuuji as the necessary evil but you can really feel that the authors dislike him. Finding fics there from his POV or at least exploring him is a fucking chore. And that is or at least used to be the most popular ship tag for Yuuji. Pages upon pages of stereotyping or downright character assassination working hard to replace the canon Yuuji with the fanon one in the general fandom consciousness.
__________________________________
Part 2 - People say one thing and do/think another
Basically a lot of people are not really self aware or are hypocrites or just repeat things they read and never put any thought into them.
You will see a lot of people criticising shounen tropes. That shounen is formulaic, that the shounen main characters are all the same, that shounen battles are all the same, that shounen main characters are overpowered… and so on and so forth.
Those same people will latch onto Gojou and crown him the main character.
Because faced with Yuuji … they have no fucking clue what to do with Yuuji. They finally got a shounen main character that at first glance might seem like the same old shounen main but very quickly it becomes clear he absolutely isn’t that.
So there are three reactions to that.
Denial
No, Yuuji actually is a stereotypical shounen main. He’s got colourful hair, he’s strong, he fights with his fist, he’s super dumb and kind of a pervert but nice and everyone instantly loves him. He gets power ups and learns everything too easily and too quickly, fights the bosses and breaks the story. And of course he has a sob story and is related to the villain. And his mum has a braid.. She doesn’t, well she does have a ponytail, kinda, in two of her bodies anyway…
And that’s it, there’s all there is to him, there’s nothing more to see.
Faced with canon they will reject all arguments or block you.
___
Rage
Yuuji is so fucking weak, why is he so weak? Why are there other characters in this story that get focus? Why is everyone more powerful than him? Why doesn’t he power up and destroy all the bosses, what kind of fucking shit is this? Well at least there’s Gojou the fucking GOAT, let’s go the strongest!!!
Gojou died? Why? Didn’t he say he was the strongest? Why the fuck is Yuuji there? What can he even do? He wasn’t powering up and bodying opponents so we didn’t really pay attention to whatever was happening with him. This is some fucking ass pull.
They also can’t accept that the final battle isn’t a one vs one, that there’s actually a plan with many aspects and contingencies. That the characters are trying to be rational about this thing, they aren’t driven by their egos and desire for glory, well apart from two, and they just want to do everything they can to get rid of Sukuna and stop Kenjaku.
This is not acceptable. If it’s not hard hits and energy flashes but plans and strategy then it’s not a real shounen fight. Gojou vs Sukuna was kinda a fight like that, of course Sukuna was not doing it right because he was scheming too much. But it should’ve ended there, Gojou’s energy balls should’ve concluded the manga.
If you try to suggest to them that he’s just a different kind of character and JJK isn’t that kind of shounen and that it's actually okay for it to take a different route, the rage will spill. They will not accept that shounen can be many things but they will complain that all shounens are the same and predictable.
___
Condescension
Yuuji isn’t what they want him to be and that’s “objectively” bad writing. That’s it. They will actually list how Yuuji should’ve been written but more importantly how everything should’ve been written and generally Yuuji should’ve never been put forward as the main character because he really doesn’t make sense as one. Gege is just a bad writer and it’s all mid and doesn’t make sense.
What’s even the point? Is there even a story in JJK, what is it even about? The magic system surely doesn’t make any sense, who even understands that? Everyone who says they understand is lying.
Sure, there were some interesting parts in it, so people got hyped, like the Hidden Inventory arc and Shibuya but only until Gojou got sealed, everything after that is just boring and awful and did I mention bad writing?
And all those deaths of fandom sweethearts, pointless. Either they are just for shock value because there was nothing absolutely nothing in the writing that suggested that they might die, od Gege just being mean to the fandom and hating their own characters and Gege should honestly *insert violent ideation*. Or the deaths are too predictable, generally everything is so predictable in JJK, and stereotypical.
Why do people even care or like it, they are objectively wrong if they do. Because hello the writing is so fucking bad, people have no fucking taste honestly. Who even reads that shit anymore?
Why are those people still in the fandom? Fuck knows.. They will spam the tags though, incessantly. The world must know how much they are better than JJK, Gege and those losers who have anything positive to say about JJK.
___
Honestly there is no winning with any of these people. What they claim they want is not what they are ready to embrace or even tolerate. They can’t also accept that maybe JJK just isn’t for them. There must be something wrong with JJK and with Gege because their tastes are universal and objective.
__________________________________
Part 3 - JJK may be a shounen but Yuuji is a shoujo main character
I’ve written about it before (some of it is a bit outdated now due to what was revealed in the manga) but I will always stand by this. Because it really explains everything.
Yuuji isn’t a typical shounen protagonist but if you look at shoujo protagonists you’ll see his type of protagonist. He is of course a mix of both and in the recent chapters he’s leaning a little more shounen but not too much.
He’s not indulging Sukuna, look how little he even speaks in this fight. He’s not revelling in this fight like Gojou had because he’s not fighting for himself. The outcome, not the fight matters. He’s still not ego driven, still two of his win conditions apart from his fighting abilities are his personality and strength of convictions that so deeply unsettle and upset Sukuna.
Recently everyone in the story, apart from Chousou, Higuruma and Toudou puts Yuuji down, discredits all his accomplishments. He even is starting to believe it. Sukuna is continuing to take everyone away from him. And yet Yuuji is still fighting because this is not about his ego. This is about removing the threat that is Sukuna and hopefully saving Megumi. He really puts himself last and isn’t even given the space to feel bad. All of this will just be there to crush him later.
And the fandom just takes every single insult hurled at Yuuji by the other characters at face value, as if the jujutsu world hasn’t always been hostile to him, treated him as less than human. As if those characters were impartial and haven’t been showing their bias towards Yuuji. They don't pick up on the fact that the jujutsu world is rotten to its core and Gege has consistently used the story to question the values of that world.
So lastly the fandom can’t stomach that Yuuji isn’t 100% stereotypically masculine, that his arc isn’t an alpha male power fantasy. That he isn’t written to perfectly embody the conservative gender norms. This is what the weakness accusation is all about, even if the people hurling it would swear up and down that they aren’t misogynists. Because Yuuji isn’t only accused of losing but also of crying, of breaking down, of being scared. This slight proximity to what is considered stereotypically feminine is a vice. One that for many discredits him completely, makes him not worthy of being the main character.
And if you think that I’m reaching with this… It’s a pattern that repeats itself in the fandom. You will see criticism of the JJK girls for not being soft enough, girly enough. Any proximity for masculinity will be zeroed in on and criticised under the guise of “feminism” with the terfy sentiment that female characters can’t be girly anymore. But girly characters like Hana or Yorozu will be hated for their proximity to stereotypical femininity because that’s considered feeble and shallow and unworthy. And just look how the fandom reacted to Megumi having an ugly and hysterical mental breakdown. To him showing weakness and not manning up. To him showing his emotions in such a visceral way.
____
These are the three main reasons why I think Yuuji is so underrated and why so many people will go to great lengths to just shit on him.

Pardon me, but could I ask for a JJK x Pokemon crossover request?
Where Trainer!Reader, who's a Ghost type specialist, falls through a portal and into the Jujutsu Kaisen world?
Pairing wise, romantic Gojo/Nanami/Sukuna, with the side of onesided creepy Mahito/Kenjaku. And platonic Yuji/Megumi/Nobara/ the rest of the students.
Ooh I like this idea! I always wondered what kind of story this could make 😁 also just a heads up i haven’t finished the game as i have been procrastinating it and just haven’t gotten used to the new features of this pokemon game yet so please bear with me.
Warning: noob author, male!reader, violence, and others.
Characters: gojo, nanami, sukuna, one-sided!mahito and kenjaku!geto.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were just battling a trainer when you got sucked into a portal that had randomly appeared behind you. You are a adult student part of the college education of the academy here in paldea and was also apart of the mission of defeating the gym leaders to become champion along with other missions like researching the titan Pokémon’s and taking down team star.
You most;y specialize in ghost types, with some if not most being dual tropes to help you along with your journey.
When you exit out of the portal and fell out of it and next thing you knew is that you’re in the hands of a white haired man with a blindfold covering his eyes, next to you is a care that was being driven by a male as you heard him yell frantically.
“Ahhh! What happened?! Why did a man fall into your arms, gojo?!”
“Hmm, i don’t know but he certainly is a cutie that’s for sure~” the man who caught you says while leaning close to your face which made you blush at the closeness and at the complement he gave you as it doesn’t happen often.
After the man in the care drove away somebody ambushed you two and started attacking , you don’t know if this was a pokemon or something else as you don’t think you’re in your world anymore which freaked you out at that possibility and start to worry on how to get along.
A blast from the wall next to you covered both you and the man that caught you which scared you to death as it would mean you… well you would be dead! But surprisingly that didn’t happen as both you and the man still holding you didn’t die like you thought you would.
They talked back and forth before the man holding you finally put you down to, you guess, fight the one eyed talking creature that is a ‘special grade’ whatever that is.
You decided to stay behind him and to hopefully not bring focus to you as the two fought to death.
After one attack smoke clouded your vision making it hard to see the one who caught you when you exited out of that portal, you hoped that he didn’t just dike as you need to figure out a way back home and way to survive this world with those things like whatever attacked you two, thankfully your savoring survived somehow which made you breath a sigh of relief.
“Ahh, we just went over this a minute ago!you a slow learner?” Your savior, which you still haven’t caught the name of waves the smoke out of his face while coughing a little. “This smoke is so irritating.”
After that you just focused on staying hidden as this is something that you don’t understand at the moment and you don’t want to get caught being dead yet.
You watched as the man that saved you wave his hand to demonstrate his point about this ‘infinite’ between him and the monster that attacked thinking that the man was dead when he actually wasn’t. The monster went to the man but you couldn’t see much else from where you were hiding which wasn’t much of a place rather you just sticking low to the ground, good thing your outfit has a bit of the colors that surrounds you three.
Next thing you know is that the man attacked the monster by holding his hand and punching him in the stomach, he continued doing it again and again to the monster before kicking him off the freeway.
You see a small orb of red at the fingertip of the man that saved you before you had to cover your eyes from the big flash of light, once you opened your eyes the man and monster was gone but then you see a trail of wreckage happening in the forest below of the road you’re on.
You decide to sneakily follow after them with one of your pokemon helping you out, ceruledge, you hope the man that saved you doesn’t die as you need to survive in this new world i until you can get back to your own.
Ceruledge carried you to where the fight between the two had ended up, which was a small rounded lake, though you also noticed a boy with pink being carried with one arm by the man that saved you, you and ceruledge stayed in the tree line as you can’t stand on water like the man and monster can.
Though you were shocked to see that the boy can stand on water and with what you were guessing from his reaction so was he.
You noticed that’s the monster was exploding like a volcano and guess that the man had said something that irritated him. You see that a circular structure had formed around the three which confused both you and ceruledge.
You decided to wait and play some games on your phone before you heard what astounded like shattering glass and no more curcular structure seen where last saw it.
“Cerledge, can you bring me to where they went if you can?” You got a nod from the human figured pokemon before being picked up and brought to where they went after the structure broke.
When you got there, the two seem to be getting attacked by another monster that hasn’t shown it’s face yet.
“Ceruledge! Cut that vine holding the boy and bring him to safety!” You commanded your Pokémon and received a nod as he went to do it.
You noticed another monster stealing the head of the first monster that showed up but what you didn’t notice was the the two were looking at you with narrow eye’s.
(I’m going to speed this along.)
Though while you were with man now known to you as gojo and the boy named yuji you never would’ve guessed that someone was talking about you at there secrecy hideout.
“And i see that you didn’t bring the man i had brought to this world?” Geto questioned the two as there was no passed out man like he had asked.
“Do you think i could’ve gotten him looking like this?!” The head of jogo that was in the arms of hanami yells at geto.
“What about you hanami? Why couldn’t you get him?” Geto asked the one armed cursed which brings out a series of words that are hard to understand if you wren’s them.
“Hmm, i guess you have a fair point. Just make sure to get him next time, and that goes the same to you, Manitoba, no fooling around if you do see him yourself.”
“Ok~ will do~”
You were introduced to the prince pal by gojo and was given a job at the school that kills the curses, that you now know is what those molnsters were, that rises in this world after a four hour interview.
Though some random things started to happen, like when you go to sleep you’re met with skulls of many dead things and water that was red, you hoped that it wasn’t blood but from the way things looked it might actually be blood, there you met a male sitting at the top of the pile of skulls and other remains, the male shared similarities to yuji and you wonder if he has some relation to the poor boy that was being trained by gojo.
“Finally we met again, (M/n)” the man says which had you confuse, both on why he knew your name and how he knew you when you never met him until now.
“I-I’m sorry, but who are you?” You asked confused and freaked out.
“Of course you don’t remember, those damned sorcerers, always ruining things for me.” The man whispered but you didn’t’t hear him as he was further away until he teleported to you which startled you at the sudden appearance of him being in front of you.
“Oh how i missed you, you were gone for so long and now you’re finally in my arms again.” He says as he fondles with a strand of hair, you get more confused about what he is saying as you never met him before.
“I don’t know who you are! You must have me mixed up with someone else!”
After that you woke up to it being morning. You continued on the day and even met yuji’s friends, nobara and megumi you treated them and yuji like you would with siblings/teen children and thankfully they liked you as well but megumi had a hard time showing it more than nobara which was fine as you still helped him with that.
Some time passed and you met nanami with yuji, some things happened and now you three are fighting a curse named mahito who freaked you out with all that he was saying and made you bring out your ace pokemon from the shadow that it hides in.
You also ended up saving a boy named junpei who was about to get turned into something that wouldn’t have lasted long if it wasn’t for you coming in and saving the boys from more trauma.
Giritina had brought mahito to it’s world of distortion and brought him out of it knocked out with several wounds before the same curse that saved the monster that attacked you when you came to this world saved mahito and was about to grab you if it wasn’t for the bloodlust that only it and nanami could feel coming from yuji which was originally from sukuna but in a way also from yuji as he doesn’t want to lose you like he almost lost his friend junpei.
(A/n: i hoped i did a good job on and hope you like it!! I thought of this crossover before but didn’t know how to get more thought process for it to become an official idea so this was fun to make though i did have to speed things along to get to the characters you had asked for so i hope you’re ok with that, and hope y’all have a wonderful day/evening/night!!)
hmm what about yuji for the send me a character and i’ll tell you?
My first impression: I thought he was a sweet kid and a lovely person to be around
My impression now: BEST BOI BEST BOI! ANYONE WHO HATES HIM IS A RED FLAG HE DOES NOT DESERVE THE SHIT HE GETS FROM THE FANDOM
Also he really needs some therapy
Favorite thing about that character: his personality:) also really like his pink hair and how much he wants to save people
Least favorite thing: the fact that Gege made Him wear his school uniform again after Shibuya
It doesn’t make any sense
The outfit he wore while he was with Choso post shibuya and while looking for Hakari were way better ( at least in my opinion)
Favorite line/scene: of course it’s the " I’m you " scene:) idk all of Yuuji’s scenes with Mahito are great
I will say this if Yuuji and Kenjaku ever do get to talk to each other then that would be my favorite ( Gege give us the family drama)
Favorite interaction that character has with another: hmm maybe Junpei? Or Nobara and of course Megumi
But yk all of those ended in tragedy ( well we don’t know about Megumi yet )
Wait wait i forgot TODO! AND CHOSO! How can I forget them ( I miss todo so much)
A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Maki and Kenjaku
I LOVED when Yuuji and Maki jumped Sukuna back in chapter 215 ( I believe that was the chapter)
I once read a fanfic that took place right after Sukuna escaped with Uraume in it Yuuji and Maki had a little bonding moment talking about the people they lost and at the end of it Yuuji calls Maki his big sister and OH MY GOD MY HEART
For Kenjaku it’s pretty obvious that’s his mom the person who has planned all of this and ruined so many lives is also his mother
ALSO THIS PANEL
Tumblr media
Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: hmm a lot of people say Denji from chainsaw man and I see why they have their similarities and also their differences ( idk this isn’t something i thought about a lot)
A headcanon about that character: like the idea of Yuuji being a horror movie fan watching the newest movies to come out to the ones from the 80s
He’s a huge movie fan everytime he watches a film he likes to sit in silence and think about it yk the things he liked and things he disliked
Also one time Yuuji missed the bus so he tried to run for it and accidentally went Past the bus
A song that reminds of that character: can’t think of one rn sorry
An unpopular opinion about that character: Yuuji doesn’t need a power up or be the strongest to be the MC he doesn’t need to be the solo focus of the series other characters can have the spotlight and he would still be the protag no matter what
Favorite picture: this one
Tumblr media
I’m just joking
It’s probably these three
Kisses (Mahito x Kenjaku)
Hello~! Very glad I wrote this earlier in the week as the new episode of season 2 came out last night and wow that sure was an adventure. This one was very enjoyable though, I took it as more of a first kiss than a kiss, but hopefully its as good for others as it was for me! Cross-posted to Ao3 under the same name and shared to twitter as Kenjakusbrain, reblog and comment if you have thoughts!
The summer heat didn’t quite bother Mahito as he strolled along the spillway leading to his personal hideout. Just because he wasn’t sweating didn’t mean he wouldn’t rather be in the comfortable shade of his sewer. He had a few new humans in his pocket and some new tests in mind, so he was in a bit of a hurry, not paying too much attention to his surroundings.
Ducking into the large pipe built into the levee, he started the short walk to his hammock.
Mahito’s feet stopped several steps into the entrance however as he noticed two forms on the other side of the waterway. Pausing to get a better look, he studied them for a moment. It was obviously two humans, though they didn’t seem to have reached maturity. They also didn’t seem to be sorcerers, as neither of them had registered the powerful curse standing a few feet away from them.
Now that Mahito thought about it though, with how focused on each other they were, he doubted they would notice him if he did anything short of stabbing them. As he watched for longer he noticed they were attached at the mouth, kissing perhaps? He didn’t venture into romance too much but he had seen enough movies with kissing that he had an idea of what was going on. Though the movie kisses he had seen were nothing like the mass of panting flesh these two made of themselves.
He was curious, what was so fun about kissing like this that it led these teens to be so completely unaware of their surroundings? How could something entrance them both in such a way? Mahito filed his questions away for asking the others later. He doubted Jogo or Hanami would have any answers for him, but Geto, a human, might know a thing or two. Geto didn’t seem too interested in the flesh of other humans, Mahito thought to himself as he crossed the waterway over to the youths.
As he stood over their forms he realized he could take advantage of this. Holding out his hands toward them he used his ability, transfiguring their souls. Trying his best he twisted the two souls together, binding them together in an intricate mass. If they wanted to be so close to each other in life, maybe they could appreciate being stuck together in the state of near death that he was subjecting them to.
Shrinking the two souls together he picked them up from the sewer floor. They had turned two different colors when he shrunk them, the different colors bleeding into one another and swirling around like some morbid embrace. If Mahito had been a romantic he may have had some thought other than how interesting they looked like this.
Returning to his original goal of heading toward his hideout, he put the lump of lovers into his pocket. He’d show Geto later when asking him about kissing. Mahito was sure Geto would find appreciation in the twisted souls.
--
Mahito wasn’t sure how much time had passed when he heard familiar footsteps approaching his hideout. He didn’t bother putting his book down yet, as the person approaching hadn’t said anything yet. It was strange how Geto always managed to make an appearance whenever he was thinking of asking the man something.
Peering over the side of the hammock, Mahito made eye contact with Geto, who was still on the other side of the waterway that ran through his hideout. Instead of walking around the water or walking through it, Mahito watched as Geto held out a hand and summoned a small fishlike curse above the surface of the water. Stepping onto it he glided across to the other side of the sewer and closer to Mahito.
“Why don’t you just walk like normal? Are you lazy?” Mahito asked pointedly, head now hanging entirely out of the hammock to regard Geto properly. He had noticed before that occasionally the curse user would use his ability randomly, for trivial things. Though he never used it publicly, it was like he wasn’t proud of his powers, or hiding something. Mahito didn’t understand humans.
Geto looked up, he didn’t seem annoyed at Mahito’s words, instead he looked like he had something interesting to share with the curse. Of course he was there for some specific reason, he usually didn’t venture down into the sewer without a pressing reason. Maybe that's why Mahito liked it down here so much, there were very rarely any humans around.
Mahito usually didn’t mind listening to whatever plan Geto would bring to him, but this was just the man he wanted to speak with. He knew if he let Geto speak first he likely would have no chance to bring up his question, or it would be pushed to after they finished whatever Geto wanted to do. Mahito knew he needed to act fast.
“I was waiting for you though! I saw something earlier and I wanted to ask you about it,” Mahito said, cutting Geto off as he opened his mouth to respond. Excitedly, Mahito jumped off of his hammock and landed in front of the curse user.
Geto raised his eyebrows at the sudden outburst from the curse, he was usually excitable but not usually at this level. He tilted his head, again not speaking and allowing the Mahito to continue without interruption as it seemed that was what he wanted. Though he usually only came down here for specific reasons, he hadn’t seen the curse in a few days and wanted to make sure he hadn’t gotten himself into any bad situations. “The strangest thing happened earlier, Geto. Whenever I returned I found some humans near the entrance, I thought they were just sitting together but the closer I got to them it was obvious that they were kissing. That’s something I’ve seen humans do in movies but, they just kept going! How is sucking another human’s face so interesting?” Mahito rambled as he approached Geto.
As Mahito spoke, Geto thought to himself that this was just another way Mahito reminded him of a curious child. His mind was moving faster than his mouth would allow which led to all of his words coming out at once.
“If you know what kissing is, how is it surprising that humans would seek pleasure in one another?” Geto asked. He knew Mahito of all curses could understand the very human urge to look for the most pleasurable option. Or perhaps he just didn’t see kissing as something pleasurable? Geto hadn’t fully considered the sexual nature of the curse in front of him beyond appreciating him in a physical sense.
Though Mahito’s curiosity of humans could extend into other, less philosophical areas.
“Is it actually fun? I thought it was just a way that humans showed affection? Hey if it's fun you should show me!” Mahito said, putting himself into Geto’s personal space. Their chests touched as Mahito got as close as possible while speaking, excitement at a new human experience filling his body.
Geto just smirked down at the excitable curse for a moment. This was new, but not unwelcome.
Reaching up, Geto placed his hands on Mahito’s shoulders, pushing the curse back. For once, Mahito didn’t protest the movement and just went wherever Geto was guiding him. Geto walked them back until Mahito’s back was pressed up against the cool wall of the sewer, he then removed one hand and placed it on the wall, effectively caging the curse against it. Of course Mahito could get away if he wanted, but the excitement brewing inside him rooted his feet to the ground.
Without speaking Geto used his other hand to cup Mahito’s chin, tilting his head up so they were fully facing each other. Before Mahito knew it, their lips were connected in a soft kiss. Just like the ones he had seen in movies. It was warm, a surprisingly soft gesture that filled him with comfort.
The feeling didn’t last though, Geto quickly began moving his lips, kissing the curse more fervently. Mahito, unsure what to do but eager to please, tried to match his pace and movements. The rush of lips and soft movements made Mahito flush, heat filling him in a way he didn’t know how to express. It was as if Geto was undoing him with simple touches.
Despite the warmth, a shiver ran up Mahito’s spine at Geto’s hand drifting down to cradle his neck. The curse gasped in response, which was exactly what Geto had been wanting. He took this chance to move in deeper, slipping his tongue into Mahito’s mouth. The soft brush of their tongues together ignited even more heat inside of Mahito, it felt much better than Geto had described.
Mahito wanted to keep up with Geto though, even if he was new to this he still wanted more. His tongue followed Geto’s back into the human’s mouth, curiously prodding and caressing the other’s tongue. Mahito was distracted by all the new sensations that the surprise of Geto sucking on his tongue pulled a muffled moan out of the curse’s throat.  He pulled his head back, smacking it lightly against the wall. His face flush as he looked up at Geto through half lidded eyes.
“That is fun! Let’s play some more!” The curse exclaimed before pressing his lips once again to Geto’s. The human laughing into the kiss before returning to the soft brush of their lips.
There’s a theory that the song “SPECIALZ” (JJK Shibuya arc theme) is a song from Kenjaku (or the curses in general) mocking Yuji as “special”. (Look up Will Stenson’s cover for English lyrics)
However in the Eriverse it swaps concepts as the transfigured humans mockingly thanking Mahito for making them “special” (hence “U R MY SPECIAL”)
Just listened to the English version, watched the Japanese version, and reread the English version without sound.
And honestly, I kinda see the opening being more geared towards Satoru more than it is being sung to Yuji.
Like yea, I agree that the song feels like it is either coming from Kenjaku or the curses (I more see it being Kenjaku honestly), but to me it feels like they are singing it to Satoru more than Yuji because Satoru is the special one out of the two (at least compared to how the curses and Kanjaku see the two).
I can kinda see the theme also being from Mahito directly to Yuji, in a similar way it's from Kenjaku to Satoru. Both are absolutely trying to mock and get a reaction out of Satoru and Yuji with their actions/looks in order to get the upper hand.
It's just the line(s) "No! No! No! Don’t be still as stone, all calm and alone" feel more geared towards Satoru for the most part as he was very much as calm and collected someone could be in the Shibuya incident (well... he went a little silly against the curses but it's whatever lol). Yuji only went calm after accepting him and Mahito are the same (and by that point Mahito was not in a mocking mood towards Yuji.
There's probably more I could analyze directly but I am a little short on time and don't really have the ability to explain why I think it's more of a song towards Satoru than it is Yuji (maybe because at this point in the story Satoru felt more like the main character than Yuji did, which I see is a common complaint in the fandom lol, but that's just how the story is written).
As for the Eriverse, I would say that it doesn't fit all that well unless you do a turn-around theming to it.
Meaning that the first/most of the song is actually from Mahito to everyone else. He's mocking them and having fun, ending up somehow setting up a rendezvous with everyone thinking he would be fine only for them to turn the tables and they end up taking the song for themselves against Mahito.
I would say the turn happens around the second “get 1○st iπ 31” line. The no regrets part of it which leads into the final “i luv u 6a6y.”
From then on I can see it being the transfigured humans directing their hate towards Mahito.
It's not FULLY from the transfigured humans, because I can see Mahito saying/representing the "No! No! No! Don’t be still as stone, all calm and alone" line in a more desperation tone as he is now all alone and doesn't like how he can't manipulate and hurt these people anymore who now have power over him.
But yea, I can see the song being slightly from the transfigured humans but also from Mahito as well.
(also, side note, but I love how many ugly cryers are in JJK lol. Just rewatched Mahito's crying scene for funs and I really can't wait for more of Choso's crying scenes! He's the best ugly cryer hehe).
I am now up-to-date on Jujutsu Kaisen. Thoughts are as follows:
Character thoughts:
MAKI MY BELOVED. The haircut! The scars! I am so glad she got to be horrifically scarred and then do horrific violence. It’s really nice to see a female character get to go feral and do plot-important revenge on a mass scale in shounen.
Choso is my surprise fave. It is absolutely hilarious that he decided he is Itadori’s brother and is going to stop being evil and help them and then everyone just kinda rolls with it. (And him crying about leaving Itadori was sweet and funny.)
Also now that he’s a recurring character and we got more information about Kenjaku/”Kamo Noritoshi” GIVE ME  HIS MOTHER’S NAME
Nobara had better not be dead. :( I initially didn’t like her - her introduction where she’s all about wanting to be a model and the parts in the goodwill event arc where she fights Momo and Mai rubbed me the wrong way because they fell too much into the “women being catty bitches to each other” for my tastes. But the parts where she stabbed herself to inflict pain on the death painting wombs and the flashbacks to her past & non-jujutsu friends really endeared her to me.
I also had limited feelings on Itadori, but his reaction to Sukuna taking over in Shibuya made me like him, lol. I’m also intrigued by Kenjaku being his mom.
Tengen is ... intriguing. The natural arc of human lives, if we don’t die of old age, is to approach a cursed spirit-like state? Looks like Jogo was onto something about curses being the true humans.
RIP the disaster curses. :( I was really surprised that they all died! I did like the energy surrounding Mahito’s “death,” though. I guess they were “starter bosses,” so to speak
I do not understand the Culling Game stuff in the slightest. How and why does this work ......? It’s so convoluted and I’m not sure how the information is being conveyed to the characters in universe.
I would also like to note that I called my brother and he is also confused. Let it be known that if we are stupid, we are stupid together.
Very excited to see the horrible repercussions for normal Japan. The 23 special wards have ~9 million people in them, so how were the mass death tolls explained? The higher-ups don’t want to reveal jujutsu and curses to the masses, but the Culling Game seems like it’s done that for them? (Mark this down as another thing I’m unclear on.)
Who the fuck are the “higher-ups”. They keep being referenced, but it’s not clear who or what they are. I’ve been thinking of them as basically the Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter, but that’s not an exact analogue since the jujutsu world isn’t as independent from the regular world as the magical world (e.g. they use the same currency, they don’t seem to have an actual separate government, just a vague “governing board”)
actually, how independent is jujutsu society? To what extent do sorcerer families (especially prominent ones like the Zenin) interact with the regular world? Do they register births and deaths like normal people or is that done in a parallel jujutsu system akin to whatever the purebloods do in Harry Potter? Is it possible in a practical sense for someone from a sorcerer family to leave and live a normal life? (i.e. not as a supernatural hitman, FUSHIGURO TOJI)
you know, I wonder how much, if any, Fushiguro’s mom and Tsumiki’s mom knew about Toji. Also, what happened to them? (Nothing good, to be certain, but I don’t think we ever get specifics.)
I’m interested to learn about how Kenjaku, Sukuna, Uraume, and Tengen knew each other back in the Heian period.
jjk 225 spoilers below
i knew it that when all those 1000 yo fuckers started to come out with the barrierless domains that it would matter. that a barrierless domain is better. i feel so vindicated and satisfied right now. i love this fight. all the domain stuff comes together. the fact that gojou teaches us and yuuji about domains. hakari and higuruma’s unique domains. that moment when yuuji broke into mahito’s domain. the whole battle between kenjaku, tengen and yuki. all the domain moments with megumi, especially the reggie star battle.
i was always screaming at megumi that he’s wrong, that actually his domain can be extremely strong if he chooses not to focus on building the barrier. especially that his technique doesn’t lend itself to a sure hit effect that well. dumb megumi, i hope he’s learning now.
anyway, i knew gojou would be on the back foot against sukuna. the domain was one thing. but the second thing is that sukuna is an extremely smart and wise fighter, while gojou isn’t. he’s reckless and too sure of himself. when he said in the first chapters that he’d win... a death flag if i’ve ever seen one. and he kept proving it throughout the manga. the whole mess with touji in the past. in the present he didn’t even manage to keep hold of jougou. he didn’t kill hanami during the exchange event. time after time he left problems unresolved so they’d come back to bite everyone. if he’d finished off jougou and hanami it’d’ve been much harder for kenjaku to pull off shibuya. in shibuya he should’ve been more careful in general.
and the weeks in the box taught him nothing. he tried soloing a clever and prepared opponent in shibuya and lost. so he’s trying it again. and he will lose again.
gojou and sukuna are matched power wise. but gojou is just full of himself. sukuna is full of himself and fights extremely smart.
i’m not sure if it’s a killing blow but i won’t be mad if it is. sukuna fucking earned it and gojou fucking deserved it for all the constant failure and grief his recklessness has brought everyone.
so like the fight? A+
the chapter in total C
why are you all dumb fucks sitting there and watching? why aren’t you out there hunting down kenjaku? who’s on killing uraume duty? huh? i love how yuuji figures it out about the domains, my smart boy, he’s also a very clever fighter. but like i’d prefer it if he was trying to find his mum to spend quality time together. that’d be a better character moment.
like i’m a hxh person, i do love battle narration and detail oriented power systems. but like i’d be fine with just narration. the kids don’t have to say it, they can do their own stuff.
