[comic of a Tears of the Kingdom korok quest. Link holds up a backpacker korok with ultrahand, squinting at the distance. He says, "That's your friend, at the bottom of the hill?" Down a long slope of a slot canyon, a smoke signal is visible. The korok says, "Yep! I can't wait to catch up!" Link flings him down the hill while he says "I need to reach my friend!" Link glides down above the korok as he bounces down the hill. An explosion goes off next to Link and as the korok rolls to a stop he lands, looking up and yelling, "Who's throwing bombs?!" Link looks back as another square bomb lands right next to the korok. Link stares at it, blank-faced, thinking "is that bad", and then "can he die" The bomb glows, about to go off, and Link scrambles to engage ultrahand and whips the korok away just as the bomb goes off. The korok says "help!" and then "kaboom!!" finally, there is a sketch of the korok and his friend at their tent, link relaxing next to them, exhausted]

Doodle of Orym inspired by my recent dive into Breath of the Wild! I've never played a Zelda game before and I love it so much. I just love fighters out there doing their best.
[Image Description: Doodle of Orym from Critical Role. His outfit is inspired by Link from breath of the wild, with the chest plate being a smaller shoulder plate, a tunic instead of a shirt and the arm wraps that Link has with his champion suit. The sash, tattoo, boots and sword are all the same. There is a korok over Orym's shoulder that he looks at fondly, the Korok has flowers and throws sparkles at Orym. He also has a tail. There is no flat colors, the lines are dark green and the background is a light mint green. End ID]

also tarrey town
actually i dont have too many facts about tarrey town! i mean akkala as a whole has little pits on the map that fill up with water while it rains (one becoming octorock lack in totk), and in the files the town is sometimes called Ichikara (which from the fandom wiki nomenaculture means “from scratch.”
Tumblr media
the goddess statue is there before the town is ever created or youve talked to bolson, also not town specific but in the akkala wilds you can see dinraal and if youre at the top of the skull lake shrine eye you can even hear the music (maybe on ground level too!) however you cant reach it without moon jump or glitches because its as high as the peak of death mountain. thats not an exaggeration either. nice for viewing either way. based on a minish cap map overlay of botw i like to hc the veiled falls from that game are the akkala falls either in the future or in retellings + the veiled falls from zoras domain thats named after the mc is close by :]. also the little flower korok seems to lead link to the ancient ball near the rist peninsula! OH ALSO!!!! whenever you go into tarrey town it will Always be sunny!!! its also very rare in rito village After the singing rocks shrine quest/after vah medoh for some reason. theres also no night theme for it in totk. theres two dogs!!! bolson construction symbol is everywhere from the wood floors to the hylia statue backing, and its the same symbol on the hammer weapon you can use!! also the hylian script says “builders” . ALSO THERES A DOUBLE AXE THERE BY THE SIDE OF A BUILDING? also grante who is robbies son sells rare armour but you probably knew that. otherwise not much!
speaking of not much i think link wouldnt even finish building it after calamity ganon. he gets everyone there eventually but he takes his sweet Sweet time. and when its finished he wouldnt even visit a lot, unless Things Happen like maddison or helping grante move in. he can get arrows from the lizalfos guarding the road to zoras domains and until those guys move he’d have to start getting arrows at shops. despite the inn maybe being be free to use he doesnt ever use it. i Could see him clearing the guardians near the place each time they respawn though. he goes there soon after learning bolson is going there (he already has the shrine there and was confused about the land just. sitting there). but then he just never or rarely fills out the quest. he gives bolson wood once, doesnt speak to him for months or a year, brings another son, and the cycle repeats. he Would bring the wood all at once he’d just get sidetracked beyond belief. zelda discovers tarrey town while visiting robbie and sends Multiple Letters to link telling him to SPREAD THE WORD. FINISH THIS ALREADY. he might even just spread rumors so the sons do it on their own accord or just. ask the champions descendant to tip him off to any sons in the area (he wouldnt make them do the quest for him though.)
its kind of funny in that regard. like theres a whole lot of past motif kind of just by proxy considering how much i focus pre cal and how he’d look back on it, so lots of people seem to consider tarrey town an omen of the future, that things can and Will get better and they can shape it. if this wasnt an au canon link would probably like it and watch over it for that very reason. however here while it Is an omen of the future and a good sign my link just. doesnt interact/doesnt care. in a bit of a twisted way he might even be glad about a lot of civilization being destroyed (which makes him feel mixed things, with a tablespoon or two of guilt and fear and staying silent about that). he wouldnt want tarrey town Destroyed but he’d either see this as an omen and Panic at it, or would ignore it completely. its not his thing to deal with, after all. which is also kinda funny because i see lots of people view botw link view the world as His Failing, which to be fair i could see! but im honestly debating on if my link would see it that way. he’d feel wrong/guilt about the champions, sure, but if he doesnt see the ruins as a bad thing (besides the people being dead. he does feel Off when he thinks about how people used to be there. about how these werent ruins and someone was living peacefully here.) then would he feel like he failed. to him this world is full of opportunities Without . i dont think this is the right word , joker voice Society, to really fully stop him. there isnt widespread rules anymore that stops him from jobs or moving. he cant be hunted by the royal guard because there Isnt One anymore. he can do whatever he wants! and while i do want to emphasize that society does have its benefits (camping irl can really suck my mom got stung by bark scorpions 3 times at the colorado river while brushing it off and it hurt so bad that she wanted to go to the ER/helicopter outta there. she wasnt in life threatening danger and there was a pain medicine guy there but yeah. also have you heard about mormon crickets. they arent dangers except to crops but if you fear bugs i am so so so sorry. also also somethinf something hiking never gets easier, heat stroke can and will kill you and dont hike in the afternoon in the desert you will feel like absolute shit and always ALWAYS BRING WATER. also apparently my science teacher went to a different country with bugs that lay eggs inside your skin and hatch inside your skin. i dont think i’ll mention those things in universe or add them besides possibly the scorpions because i do actually have a fear of bugs and also i dont want this to mirror irl Exactly) the costs that come with society dont really apply anymore. as long as you know how to Not Die and dont have a debilitating fear of bugs nothing besides death can stop you. the question becomes was the means worth the end, do you want to go back to the past even though you hated it at the time, do you miss it, and is it worth it to stick around to a place that may revert in time and create the good and the bad of the past. you cant move to another country either- its all or nothing. you can either live here or. well. plus dealing with the fear of time just fucking go for it. also i think pre cal link would struggle a Lot with the all or nothing approach and the time going for it thing. uh. hm let me know if i should tag anything

i never really revisited the shrine of resurrection because i kinda had sad feelings about link essentially being buried alive to heal and come back to life over a 100 years... because like, damn, i know ganon wasnt dead, he was just sealed away and zelda was trapped in there which sucked but imagine literally dying to protect your princess which is the duty youve been trained for almost your whole life and then being told that isnt enough.
‘get back in there soldier, i didnt say you could rest.’ is a very sad idea to me, especially in this context.
i went back once after i found out there was a korok because a part of my heart couldnt stand the idea of a little forest child (i’ll never forget the kokiri or saria) sitting alone, underground, in a tomb just because they wanted to play hide and seek. i went back when the final shrine called for me, but other than that, i steered way clear
so yeah, i have a lot of probably bizarre sentiments about it, and im not fond of that space, but i say this with full vitriol
get
the fuck
out of my tomb

i'm at a stable, and a guy reading the paper is mentioning the blood moon freak from botw. i wondered what became of him...
wish there were more goddess statues around. i got enough thingies but i need her to give me the upgrades 😭 i hate that i gotta travel all the way back to the lookout...i know there's fast travel but i "lose my place"
HEART CONTAINER GET
i jinxed myself when i said the game gave me enough arrows. i'm down to 36. i over-rely on them tho
i thought i was taking out a camp and then got something about monster forces. i left but i saw people coming up to fight them...cmon! i wasnt ready to do that yet!!
oh well hope they dont die lol
i've decided that i REALLY don't like the moving trees. i think things that are not supposed to move, such as dolls, and statues, and also trees, should not move ever. caught one moving out of the corner of my eye when i was taking out a camp and nearly had a stroke.
i found a new kind of korok puzzle that wasnt in botw!! what a nice surprise (it was the dandelion one)
revisiting the old places in central hyrule the most striking difference is the lack of guardians. where did they all go? i don't even see rusted ones. were they repurposed? destroyed? did they just disappear?
FOUND MY FIRST BATTLE TALUS :D
got one hit KO'd :(
GOT HIS ASS!!!! i think i got a talus heart or something to fuse with?? metal
alright, i feel like i got a lot of cshrines in central hyrule...NOW can i go to faron? lol
i know the game reeeeeally wants me to go to hebra, but i don't wanna <3

"Not letting Link eat til he finds all 900 korok seeds" sounds like the kind of idiotic challenge mode I'd enjoy doing and now I'm very very tempted. This is a terrible idea, up there with me doing the marathon boss fight to find out if you get the 'extra' ending scene if you ONLY get the Captured Memories and no others (eg. no sword, no divine beasts.) (The answer is yes, btw)
it wasnt even a challenge it was just that my idiot friend refused to cook meals and rammed raw food into link and i was concerned

helloooo im the anon from earlier, i was referring to the drawing where zelda and link are by a stream, zelda is in the water, and there’s a korok in the foreground. the other art was more of a landscape, zelda is sitting down in the foreground and link is practicing sword fighting. im sorry if i wasnt very descriptive,,
Hello, Anon
Sorry for being away for so long! I didn't ignore you I swear><
For the Zelda art that you referring to, (no need to apologize! It's really helpful.) I had to do a bit of work to fix the resolution and add more details before I can add the art in Inprnt.
due to the files originally can't be added into Inprnt because the resolution doesn't match their requirement. this is why I was away, including having to wait for approval from them and rambling a lot on Twitter...I'm sorry...!
I'll be putting the link here later. Thank you for being patient and thank you for understanding!

first 8 hours of totk review :D
SPOILERS UNDER CUT
that was the coolest intro to any game ive ever seen, loved starting w 30 hearts and full stamina especially bc that wasnt possible without glitches in botw
do not reconize matt mercers voice at ALL
i thought link losing his arm was very cohesive!!! lovelove love that thats how we lose hearts
i love everything about rauru
top portion of the map is absolutely gorgeous. the fall colours are beautiful. the constructs are creative and blend in well artistically and narratively. theres cooking pots everywhere. its still large but a blip on the map comparatively and very mountainy so its very good to explore and find secrets. scratches my brain
it didnt take me 5 weeks to do the tutorial this time around :D
speaking of map, it looks fucking huge. i dont think its bigger then the botw map but the area borders are different and its throwing me way off
how do i fucking drive some of these things
every time i see an item i reconize its like greeting an old friend i havent seen in a while
and every time i see a new thing im both pleasently surprised and at ease, like im meeting someone for the first time but we immediately click
and every time i see something mildly incorrect im either sad or discombobulated. i walk past a place where i know theres a shrine in botw because ive seen it a thousand times, and theres no shrine. i dont know where they went, just sunk into the ground again? they should still be standing just dead and not glowing and inaccessable imo :((
speaking of shrine THERES ZONAI SHRINES!!!!!!! they follow p much the exact pattern as botw shrines. overall so far i prefer the aesthetic of botw shrines more.
at the end instead of spirit orbs you get "light of blessings" and i stumbled over typing it because i 100% think it should be blessings of light. light of blessings sounds incorrect.
why is there a fuckign fairy fountain right outside dueling peaks stable.
WHAT IS THAT GIANT KING BOKO WHAT. WHAT.
blood moons are still a thing unfortunately and its much sharper and scarier looking this time around
its very weird not having my champion abilities. or 3 wheels of stamina. and everything hurts. where is my paraglider. WHY CANT I GLIDE THIS FEELS SO WRONG
take a shot every time i fall off a cliff
theres tunnels to the center of the earth that instakill you
it isnt "malice" anymore its called gloom now. im still calling it malice.
the abilities links prosthetic arm give him are legit so fun. a bit janky and they take some time to get used to but im having a good time. all i can make is a shitty little car i cant steer. im having a great time.
im not playing this as cohesively as i did botw. walking right past quest markers and things. the way i played botw means by the time i would have gotten the master cycle there would be nothing left for me to do to use it with. i doubt it will be the same but i want stuff to do post game
im not fucking finding a thousand korok seeds again. not for a very long time. i laughed maniacally after the first one and then stopped at 7. they have backpacks bigger rhen they are its adorable.
lots of new weapons
fuse is my favorite ability
shiekah slate is now called the "purah pad" which doesnt roll off the tongue as nice. do you think link was pissed when zelds made him give the slate back. do you think he misses cryonis blocks. because i definitely fucking miss my cryonis blocks
theres been fucking crows outside my window being loud as hell this whole post
lurelin village got invaded and swamped by pirates :((((
my least favorite armor set, the luminous gimp suit is being sold for free in kakariko and im kinda mad about it
paya is chief of kakariko now :D
i had a few more but im tired now zzzz

frustration of the day: none of the korok plushies on etsy are big enough. in game (ok i think theyre diff sizes between wind waker and botw/totk but still) theyre like. up to links knees at LEAST usually if not taller than that (if my switch wasnt still broke id go get some screenshots myself and figure out exact heights since im p sure botw link is 5"2ish if not shorter lol) so basically like. plush makers should consider making a 3 1/2 ft tall korok (that jingles like the do in game) for me specifically

I think Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity might be the first game I’ve 100 percented???
The game was a lot of fun! And the story took turns I wasn’t expecting when they had said this was set 100 years prior to Breath of the Wild.
Mipha was my favorite character to play as (she’d ended up at level 97 when I cleared the last quest, which I suppose for some perspective, the next highest level was Link at 78)
