Do you have any backstory in mind for how Alonzo and Mistoffelees met and fell in love? I’m curious about the ship, have a nice day!!

Henlo!! This one took even longer to answer bc I never have really talked/thought super hard abt backstory and I feel like I still did not articulate it even after it got. long imo dhsjfnfj so! Here we go fjsjfjdjfj

Tl; Dr: grew up around each other, were kinda friends when they were little and misto had a crush, reconnected when they were almost grown and Alonzo got feelings + Misto's feelings returned

I think I’d best describe them as Childhood-acquaintainces-to-lovers? 😂 Misto would have been like. 4-5 at first meeting, which puts Lon around 6-7.And Lon was always on the withdrawn/anti-social side while Misto...wasn’t, at the time

they would have met bc li’l Alonzo needs babysitters! and I think his go-to would have been Jelly, but she can’t be available all the time!

And then I’m also a basic Bustopherdots/Jennypher bitch since day 1 so Misto and Vic have always been their kids to me.

While I didn’t agree with the implication that there was no actual relation between Misto and Bustopher, Jacob Brent’s commentary that his Misto likes Bustopher+wants to impress him because they look alike did kinda stick with me as a cute little character thing.

So Misto is immediately fond of this other Black and White cat Alonzo, who is...unsure abt this and not a well socialized kid. He doesn’t dislike Misto but he’s kinda uncomfortable with the attention.

Move forward a teensy little bit and they’re still growing up around each other. Misto’s fascination evolves into one of those little kid crushes where they probably don’t even get the difference between platonic and romantic love. Sort of like Sally Brown from the Peanuts to Linus; likes to follow him, makes really cutely awful attempts at flirting bc he has no idea what that actually is; schoolyard puppy love stuff.

And Alonzo...still feels kinda weirded out by it but he’s more used to it. He can pretend he doesn’t notice and Misto doesn’t really seem all that upset by it bc again at this point Misto being “in love” is probably closer to a “I want to be your best friend” love than a “I want to be your boyfriend” love.

Then hop forward a bit more substantially. And here’s where his personality begins shifting. Like I said, I don’t think Misto was super withdrawn as a little kid; I think he was loud, I think he was bubbly, I think he was like--an even cuter and less refined version of his solo-number self.

Then he starts getting older and... suddenly being noticeable and bubbly isn’t giving Misto positive attention. Suddenly it’s getting him half-hidden sneers and reprimands by older cats

and sometimes Bustopher defends him, but then other times Bustopher says the others have a point, and it’s obvious Bustopher’s mates are making judgements about both of them just from Misto’s behavior and--

He starts closing off and tempering a lot of his responses to things. He begins getting like. hyper-aware of negative responses and answers it by making himself as invisible as possible.

Once this starts, suddenly Alonzo’s dancing around affection was retroactively condemnatory to Misto.

because obviously he was always being an ill-behaved bother and others just stopped giving him grace for it as he got older; most likely, Alonzo hated him, right?

Then, since they were never really “friends” so much as “on friendly terms”, Alonzo didn’t know this change in Misto’s perception had happened, and when he starts pulling away Alonzo just assumes he got over his infatuation. And so they just...exist around each other. sometimes.

Skip a bit of more time and Misto’s very much in his own shell rn. He has friends (Mainly Victoria, Cori, and Tanto), and he has ambitions, talent, and such, but y’know. He’s not sharing this out and about beyond the specific contexts. He doesn’t try and socialize or add to his friendgroup.

Enter Tugger! Who, seeing someone that is very antisocial, of course just has to get closer to him. Mainly by inserting himself into the group whenever he can. And, slowly but surely, he starts rubbing off on misto, for better or for worse.

Because Tugger gets him to take all that drive and ‘tude, and bring it out with him to everyday interactions. Which. on the one hand. Yay! Confidence is making its way back out.

On the other hand. It’s still not exactly sincere, and it’s a confidence Misto can’t really sustain if Tugger isn’t like. Right there.

Take the insincerity and add it with the fact that it’s primarily being powered by a desire to outdo, and you also get a Misto who’s?? kind of a jerk? Because he doesn’t know how to cultivate a people-facing persona yet. He’s a teen.

He still thinks no one’s gonna like him without Tugger there/he’d only be liked if Tugger was also there.

Meanwhile, on the Alonzo side of things. he’s been training with Plato under Munk and Skimble, Munk is being ambivalent abt the whole thing as usual, this is v confusing and slightly distressing for Alonzo, you know how it is.

He gets a Tugger, of sorts, in Cassandra, who finds his awkwardness endearing. However, instead of bringing out a hidden/selectively utilized, louder confidence, she teaches him how to seem confident while still being quiet and withdrawn. He’s a quick learner.

In this time they’re both trying out relationships. Most notable would be Misto/Cori and Plato/Alonzo, where both ended with the decision that they worked better as bros. There was also Alonzo/Teazer for a time and that one was. a thing that happened.😂

And Misto might have caught new feelings for Tugger bc uh. first actively positive connection pursued by an outside party who also sparked real change in him

The boys actually, substantially cross paths again in their late teens. Tugger starts convincing Misto to come out to more social events with him + Bomba + sometimes Deme. And meanwhile Cass is getting Alonzo out to these too, if just to get him to different places than his home/the junkyard/her home.

In a “teach the baby bird to fly” move, Tugger starts uh. Leaving Misto on his own during these parties and trying to get him to grow his own abilities. Which... doesn’t really work.

Misto gets overwhelmed and looks for a good corner and wouldn’t you know it Alonzo’s there. And it’s been who knows how long since they last had a good conversation (or. any conversation) so they just stand next to each other.

Eventually Cassandra comes back over and she makes the conversation for them, mainly thru Misto knowing Cori and Tanto bc they’re her cousins.

Then Lon and Misto decide they should actually have a friendship now that they’re not tiny children.

And then I mean yanno they’re. They’re friends. Misto has an embarrassing echo of butterflies just bc uh. I mean clearly he was wrong about Alonzo hating him, right? Don’t ask him abt it right now.

And then I mean it’s like. They don’t really have overlapping friends enough to hang out together so they just. occasionally hang out for some downtime, two of them.

So then now it’s Alonzo’s turn to catch feelings bc they are not little children anymore and this guy is talented and cute and at the same time as Misto saying he only really practiced dance alone/in front of one or two others, he’s getting flustered when Alonzo asks if he wants to practice now (he still did show off tho).

Cassandra makes them try and socialize. This always ends either hanging out in a corner or out on a porch.

Eventually Misto tries to cross the beams bc. Alonzo is his good friend who may or may not still give him a butterflies don’t ask right now; Tugger is his good friend who definitely still gives him butterflies; they’re both p great in Misto’s opinion, it should be great merging the group!

I have other hcs about Alonzo and Tugger, also going back to younger days that, to be blunt, leads to their relationship being...bad.

Ok no it’s hard to explain if i don’t go a bit into it so. Tugger is not related to Munk, Alonzo, or Deut. But he made himself v friendly with their family. He’s somewhere between Munk and Lon in age, and Lon was still p young at the time.

He felt threatened early on, and continues to into the present. What didn’t help was that Tugger, who was also still young, saw a good target for picking on and pranking. Many pranks about the Vicar promising Alonzo to a congregant, about officially replacing Alonzo with Tugger; intentionally mean but unintentionally damaging.

But they’re both like “We’ll be cordial. We have a mutual friend here, we’ll just. Be nice to each other.”

It takes. no time for Tugger to pick up that there is...something happening between Alonzo and Misto.

And suddenly he’s feeling threatened because from his perspective Misto was his buddy first. And He’s not fond of Alonzo bc the two just. do not get along.

So take both of these motivators + he can obviously tell these two are in a weird grey area in terms of physical affection + he knows how to push Alonzo’s buttons...

So now Misto gets two of the main guys he’s been pining for giving him attention. That should be great. It’s not, though. It’s...kinda weird feeling? And he’s not sure why.

Alonzo then backs out of the cold war arrangement very quickly and finds reasons to raincheck any hangout with both Misto and Tugger. Misto confronts him; asks half-jokingly if he’s jealous, and Alonzo answers “yeah, kinda!”

ah.

But hearing that from Alonzo doesn’t feel weird. It feels like his whole chest became a butterfly pavillion and yes you can ask him about that right now please ask him about that right now.

And that’s a long and convoluted path just to them actually getting started

And also to be clear Misto and Tugger are v much still friends!! They don’t stop being friends, Alonzo just doesn’t hang out when they’re both hanging out.

PatB Oneshot: A Whole New World

AN: Well I did have an angst story in mind which I do have a basic outline for but I feel like I gotta balance some of the more despair-driven stories with some fluff.

I decided to use a HC I posted a few days ago: That Pinky would serenade Brain with A Whole New World. Just with a small modification to help the story flow better. Cause it’s cute and adorable and just let them be happy please.

Pinky loved endings. Happy endings, teary endings, pencil endings. They were just fun to chew on even if they left a rubbery taste in his mouth!

And when Aladdin and Jasmine kissed on a starlit night filled with fireworks and flew off on their magic carpet, it was so magicafantastical! Or was the right word beauwondersicle? And then the moon turned out to be the Genie the entire time! He never would’ve guessed!

The moon outside was just as big and beautiful as the one in the movie, except it was made of cheese instead of genies. And there was a funny face in the cheese too. Maybe a moon mouse carved it so earth mice would have something to laugh at and brighten up their nights!

That was really kind of them to help cheer Brain up. And hard work deserved a reward! What kind of cheeses and scented soaps did moon mice like?

Making a gift basket would have to be number lollipop on his to-do list though. For now, there was a lovely reprise of A Whole New World. It was such a romantic song, and it didn’t take long before Pinky was swaying and humming along to Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle’s vocals.

The counter was a magic carpet, and the walls twinkled with countless stars. Pinky let his movements flow like a gentle breeze, making sure to keep his limbs tucked inside the magic carpet at all times.

A body cuddling close, warm compared to the cool night air. The warmth spread through his chest, making him tingly and melty and a thousand other things at once, like the time he’d tried plugging a broken cord from one of Brain’s whatchamajigs into an outlet and gotten shocked. Only this was a good tingly and not a painful one.

“Pinky, put me down at once!” a hand clamped around Pinky’s snout and yanked insistently.

Pinky stood on his tiptoes as the song went into the next verse, and the next tug made him slip and tumble. Pinky laughed as his face smooshed against the countertop.

There was an ‘oof’ from underneath him, which was a strange sound for his tummy to make. It usually made more of a ‘gurgurgur’ noise.

“Zort! Tummy, you’ve got it all wrong!” Pinky scolded. “You’re supposed to growl and grumble like something that’s good at being growly and grumbly!”

Pinky had eaten his dinner during the movie, but his tummy growled anyway.

“That’s a good one, tummy! You sound almost exactly like Brain!” Pinky giggled. He arched his back, bending his head so he could get a good look at his tummy, but sneezed when his nose brushed against the fur on Brain’s chubby head.

Brain scowled, fixing Pinky with his best warning glare. “Pinky, if you don’t let me up in the next five seconds, I shall have to hurt you after I finish hurting you for pulling me into your ridiculous dance.”

Pinky stepped aside and helped Brain up, giggling at how Brain’s face resembled a tomato. Brain could turn his entire face red, and Pinky wondered how he could make his own face turn different colors. Maybe a nice indigo? That was his favorite crayon after all.

And so were aquamarine and periwinkle and scarlet and maroon and…well, picking a favorite crayon was harder than he thought. They were all fun colors!

And a sharp pain to his head let him see even more colors. Olive green, smiley face yellow, and there was even a pretty chartreuse!

“Narf…” Pinky murmured, transfixed by all the swirling hues.

Pinky stumbled, landing flat on his face again. After a few seconds, his head stopped swirling and he could see Brain setting his pen down and trying to rub the red out of his face.

“Zort! I saw so many colors! You should try it sometime!” Pinky exclaimed.

Brain shoved his hands into his pockets, and Pinky remembered that he kept meaning to ask Brain about that because he wasn’t wearing pants.

“I’ll have to decline your offer, Pinky,” Brain replied, his fur back to its usual white. “I’m still debating if I should be more concerned about the objects you put into your mouth.”

“Don’t worry, it was just food pellets. We’re all out of moldy cheese and lint balls, remember?” Pinky said.

“Thank you for proving my point,” Brain muttered as he hit the off button on the remote. The cheery music from a car commercial faded away.

“You’re welcome, Brain!”

Brain grabbed Pinky by the arm and half-dragged, half-led him across the counter to where a notepad was propped up by a stack of books for supersmart mice. Great pictures, but how did x get lost from the rest of the letters and wind up in Numberland anyway? It was a mystery that Pinky still hadn’t solved.

“It’s time to focus on tonight’s plan,” Brain declared, lightly tracing a series of music notes with a pencil. “We’ll broadcast our hypnotic emotional song across the airwaves. This song contains lyrics with double meanings designed to pull at a human’s natural curiosity. They’ll have to listen many times in order to understand what I desire to accomplish, and with each repetition, the suggestion will continue to grow until every human on earth comes to the lab on bended knee and a willingness to make me their ruler.”

“Egad, Brain! Brilliant!” Pinky clapped his hands in delight, grinning when he caught a small lopsided ‘I know I’m smart’ smile on Brain’s face. “Oh wait, didn’t we already try this with Spinatra?”

Brain waved his hand dismissively. “Already accounted for. I was too concerned with vocals in that plan. The background instrumentals will have a much more important role this time. I’m even including a swelling crescendo and key change towards the end.”

Pinky gasped. “That poor croissant! It needs cream to help with that swelling!”

“I need cream for the headache you’re inevitably going to cause,” Brain sighed.

“Does this mean you’re singing again? Can you sing it right now?” Pinky asked. “Cause I love it when you sing, Brain!”

Brain squirmed, the redness creeping into his face again. He was funny about singing, acting like he didn’t enjoy it. If the world ruler thing didn’t pan out, then singing would be a great back-up career. Pinky could just picture it!

Brain Maine, the blond international singing sensation whose stage name was a US state for some reason who dealt with normal people things like being a genetically altered lab mouse in his private life!

“We’ll broadcast the song over the radio,” Brain said, avoiding Pinky’s eyes while he busied himself by adding several squiggly lines into the margins around his lyrics. “Yes, this plan requires me to sing. As for your other question…”

He trailed off, mumbling something Pinky couldn’t make out.

Pinky raised a hand to his ear, wondering if he needed to clean it again. He could never find the Q-tips though. “Sorry, Brain. Didn’t quite catch that. Did you say they’re making Goodnight Moon into a Jelly Belly flavor? Because I don’t think paper and jelly beans go well together, poit.”

“No, Pinky,” Brain scowled. “I’m at an impasse. My lyrics are thought-provoking and profound. My notations are highly technical and intricate, logically designed to invoke a strong emotional reaction in listeners based on precedents set by great composers and music theorists in the past. But for all this excellence, I haven’t been able to organize my lyrics into a configuration that will appeal to the auditory pathways.”

Pinky blinked. He knew Brain liked to hide behind big words. That was just how he played hide-and-seek, like how Pinky enjoyed hiding in a paper towel roll. “That’s a lotta big words, Brain. I just want a teensy tiny sneak peek of the song. Unless you still need time on that part. That’s okay, I’ll just run on my wheel while I wait.”

Brain sighed as he crossed out several music notes. “Precisely, Pinky. I’m well-versed in being objective. However, objectivity falls short when a plan hinges on people’s…feelings. The final product needs to be emotional, but I can’t induce a reaction until I know what sounds will produce a maximum effect!”

He threw down the pencil and kicked it away.

Pinky tilted his head, taking in the numerous edits spread over the page. Brain really poured his heart out for these pretty-looking words. Like his heart just tipped out of his chest and he was trying to cover it up again while scolding it for being visible in the first place. And being upset because he couldn’t find the tune for his heart’s song.

Wait…

A heartsong!

“Just like the penguins who saved the South Pole with the power of tap dancing and singing and Robin Williams!” Pinky exclaimed, grabbing Brain by the shoulders. Brain tried to shrug him off, but Pinky clung on. “Brain, that’s what you need! A tune for your heartsong!”

“Pinky, now you’re just babbling,” Brain said, crossing his arms and leaning back as far as he could without falling over. “And don’t describe my hard work as a ‘heartsong’. You’re making it sound like sentimental sap.”

“Sounds delicious!” Pinky replied. “But all you need is just a little inspiration, Brain! Let me help you find a tune so you can feel everything and help the world feel your song too! Please with a maraca cherry on top?”

“Maraschino cherries, as much as it pains me to acknowledge such a childish form of pleading,” Brain corrected. “I assume you’re not letting this, or by extension, me…go until I indulge you.”

“Nope!” Pinky said.

“Very well. I resign myself to whatever you have in your unconventional mind, Pinky.”

O – O – O – O – O

In the end, the setup was just a stereo and a Disney CD with their most popular movie songs. Pinky had decided against wearing his fedora, since Brain didn’t seem to care for his Donald O’Connor impression very much.

Since the CD case had a coffee stain on it that prevented him from finding the song number, Pinky took a moment to listen to the first few notes of each song before pressing the next button. As much as Pinky loved Hakuna Matata, it just wasn’t what Brain needed right now. He’d save that one in case they ever got dropped into the jungle again. It took about nine, or maybe twelveteen tries before Pinky found what he was looking for.

Satsified, Pinky paused the song and turned back to Brain, who was drawing several neat lines on a yellow sticky note.

“What’s that, Brain?” Pinky asked, leaning over Brain’s head for balance so he could get a closer look.

Brain tilted his head to the right and Pinky slipped off, laughing when he landed on his elbow. “I’m setting up my notes, Pinky.”

“We only need music notes, Brain. Not notes-notes or sticky notes,” Pinky said. Sometimes Brain could be a little confused. Why would he need notes for his heartsong?

“Oh yes, Pinky. How silly of me. The notes will just magically write themselves after all.”

Well, of course they would write themselves. But Brain still wouldn’t budge from his sticky note and pencil.

So Pinky decided to resort to drastic measures.

“Chase me!” Pinky shouted, snatching the sticky note and pencil from Brain and dashing around to the back of the stereo as fast as he could while his paws were full. There was an angry growl from behind him, but Pinky had a good head start on Brain. Normally, Pinky slowed his running speed to give Brain a fair chance at catching him, because it just wasn’t fun if the chaser couldn’t catch up to the chasee.

But this time around, Brain would need to listen closely to his feelings, whatever they were. And he couldn’t do that with notes that weren’t music notes.

“Give those back, Pinky!” Brain yelled, rounding the corner just as Pinky stuck one side of the sticky note into his mouth and grabbed a knobby thing from the back of the stereo, hauling himself up with one paw clutched firmly around the pencil.

“Not ‘til after the song!” Pinky meant to say, but it came out more like ‘nafthang’ because of the sticky note. Brain’s paw clamped around the middle of his tail and threatened to pull him down when he was halfway to the top. Pinky clung to his handhold tightly, keeping his legs spread for balance.

The tip of Pinky’s tail flicked against Brain’s nose, and Brain’s grip loosened. Encouraged by this, Pinky let his tail go wild, brushing it against Brain’s eyes, nose, and fur. Pinky glanced down just as his tail lightly danced around the outside of Brain’s ear, watching Brain let go to bat the rest of the offending appendage away.

Brain really did resemble a white and red tomato with ears now that Pinky had a top view. Pinky couldn’t enjoy it for long though. Quickly pulling himself to the top, Pinky laid the note down, taking a few seconds to spit the sticky stuff out of his mouth. Then he braced the pencil against the handle, making sure it wouldn’t roll away.

“I hope you’re happy,” Brain muttered, crossing his arms as Pinky hopped down. “I wouldn’t be so tolerant of your antics if I didn’t need this for research purposes.”

“Oh, I’m plenty happy,” Pinky chirped. “Are you ready for the song now?”

“We’re delayed by ninety minutes,” Brain said. “I suppose I have no choice if this plan is to be implemented in time for morning rush hour.”

“Okey-dokey then! You’ll dance with me?” Pinky said, rushing back to the front of the stereo. His hand hovered over the start button, glancing at Brain for the go-ahead.

Brain opened his mouth to reply, but then it suddenly snapped shut again. He did this several more times, and Pinky realized he probably didn’t know what to say next.

Brain wasn’t familiar with non-smarty mouse stuff, though Pinky knew he could hand Brain a bunch of numbers and letters and squiggles and Brain would find an answer faster than Pinky could blink.

Pinky decided to borrow a page out of Aladdin’s book, making a mental note to return the page later, because what if Aladdin was reading it and the page was important to the story? Pretending he was Aladdin inviting Princess Jasmine onto his magic carpet, Pinky held his hand out to Brain.

“Do you trust me?” Pinky asked, giving Brain his best reassuring smile.

Brain just stared down at Pinky’s hand like it was covered in really icky goo.

“Do you trust me, Brain?” Pinky repeated.

“With certain things more than others,” Brain admitted after a long moment, slipping his hand into Pinky’s. “Remember, this is strictly for research purposes only.”

Pinky hit the play button, and a gentle piano melody flowed out of the speakers.

The lab quickly melted away and they were dancing on a magic carpet, a starry sky above and a bustling city below. Romantic music flew by, supported by a gentle breeze.

“I can show you the world-“

Brain jerked slightly, eyes wide as the wind sweetly sang about the world beyond the lab and domination. Pinky carefully reeled him in, helping him balance until he could find his footing again.

The world was bathed in silvery moonlight, and the shadows weren’t so scary when they flew by on their magic carpet. Pinky’s fur brushed against Brain, sending millions of tingly little sparks through his body as they weaved around brick and stone and steel, not wanting even a single building to interrupt their dance.

And they were going up, so high that Pinky could reach out and touch the clouds. He’d always wanted to dance on fluffy, cottony clouds. The ground was a million miles below, but Pinky wasn’t afraid. Brain and the magic carpet wouldn’t let him fall.

Then Pinky was tugged in a completely different direction from where he’d been trying to go, only for the step to be hastily corrected at the last second. Brain’s eyes flicked down when Pinky looked at him, so Pinky gave his hands a squeeze to let him know it was alright if he wanted to lead now.

Brain liked control, and Pinky wanted to return his efforts in kind.

With newfound confidence, Brain swept Pinky into a wide arc. Every step precise, every turn sharp. The world blurred around them, Pinky’s heart beating rapidly as he kept up with Brain’s commands.

Forests, oceans, deserts, and mountains disappeared into the distance just as fast as they came by. Pinky saw the sprawling Great Wall of China, the huge Empire State Building, the wavy Sydney Opera House, and numerous other landmarks he couldn’t remember the names of. All part of this world, and they would belong to Brain someday.

Brain’s breathing grew heavier, coming out in little puffs of air, and Pinky’s throat felt tight. Tight like he’d just run so fast, so far, without stopping to catch his breath.

The lab came back into view, the last of the stars fading into the dark walls.

The stereo played the first line of I’ll Make a Man Out of You, so Pinky turned it off. They weren’t ready for a fast-paced training montage.

They headed back to their cage for a much-needed drink of water, and Brain guzzled down nearly half the bottle before letting Pinky have his turn. While Pinky drank his fill, Brain’s attention returned to his notebook, filling in the pages with renewed vigor.

“Did you find your heartsong, Brain?” Pinky called, rushing over to find a bunch of music notes and squiggly lines that hadn’t been there before. “Zort! That’s a lot of circles!”

Brain drew several more lines, filling the spaces with even more music notes. “Whole notes, Pinky. I’m including several long ones to help enhance the emotional quality of my work. However, there’s one significant change I’d like…no, need to make before we broadcast it over the radio.”

Pinky waited, noticing that Brain swallowed a very huge gulp down his throat. “Um, Brain? I think something’s stuck in your throat. Are you okay?”

“Iwanttomakeitaduet,” Brain mumbled.

Pinky blinked. “Is that another big word?”

“I said I want to make it a duet, Pinky!” Brain shouted. Then he took a moment to rub his big head, sighing heavily. “Apologies.”

“Gesundheit,” Pinky grinned.

Brain paced around, murmuring to himself. “Hydrogen bonding. A hydrogen and oxygen atom forming a bond…no, it’s more covalent than hydrogen. Hydrogen bonds are weak unless there’s millions to create surface tension. Covalent bonds are much stronger. And a duet is chemistry in lyrical form, showcasing the singers’ covalent bond-“

“I can’t wait to duet with you, Brain,” Pinky declared, pouring every ounce of feeling into his words as he could. “What am I singing?”

Brain copied the song onto a separate sheet of paper, then grabbed a pink highlighter from a drawer and drew it across two verses and the refrain. Pinky’s parts in pink for easy remembering! This was gonna be a fun plan!

“Pinky?”

Pinky looked up from his paper. Brain was half-turned to his notebook, half-turned to Pinky.

“If you want to know how I felt earlier, the best description I can think of is…weightless.”

He felt happy feelings when Brain’s eyes gleamed in triumph at an idea. Scared feelings when he was trapped in a maze without Brain to guide him. Sad feelings when Brain yelled and grumped and cried because he thought Pinky didn’t want to be with him anymore.

And weightless feelings?

Pinky thought of dancing in the sky and the rush of happiness he felt when Brain took the lead. Cuddling together if the lab grew too cold, listening to big words, imagining what they would do when Brain took over the world.

“That’s a good feeling to have, Brain.”

“Yes, Pinky. It is.”

AN: I think I’ve listened to way too many 90s love songs. I tried watching the Pinky POV to help me get into Pinky’s mindset, and wow that episode is weirder than I remember it. I’m sorry, but Pinky was visualizing a thong on Brain I don’t know what to say that XDXDXD

So, references. I’m not very good when it comes to pop culture outside of animation, musicals, and animated musicals but yeah. Robin Williams voiced Lovelace in Happy Feet and of course Genie in Aladdin (we don’t talk about the live action one here). Pinky would totally love the concept of the heartsong.

Honestly, the Brain Maine thing came about because I was thinking, ‘hey, Maine rhymes with Brain’. That’s it. My mind just be like that.

Donald O’Connor sang Make Em’ Laugh in Singin’ in the Rain, which the segment Just Say Narf parodies.

And of course, Aladdin, but that doesn’t bear repeating here I think.

I need to find a new song now. I lost track of how many times I listened to A Whole New World in the past few days.

Take Flight

Brad confronts MJ about her and Peter's relationship on the plane ride home to NY as Peter watches the conversation from afar.

MJ was happy she told Peter everything and that they were now... whatever they were now. Okay? She was happy, is happy.

But, she's not going to lie and say she isn't just a teensy bit scared by the newness of it all. She's barely had any friends in the first place and what, now she had a... boyfriend??? This was completely uncharted new territory for her and while it could be construed as an exciting exhibition on one hand, it could also be called a plunge into a deep dark abyss on the other.

Which was why after MJ got back to the class, and they all made sure everyone was safe, MJ texted Peter that she wanted to talk. It didn't have to be right at that moment or night though, they literally almost just died, they can take some time to just take a breather before figuring out the mechanics of their relationship.

And that's exactly the reason why Peter Parker was currently snuggled next to MJ, sound asleep, 4 hours into their 9 hour flight. and although, MJ admits that her shoulder's started to transition from sore to losing all form of sensation completely, MJ can't help but feel really happy for Peter. He's finally getting some well earned and deserved rest, and even though MJ knows she has no way to truly know what Peter's actually thinking... he seems happy to be with her, doesn't he? "Because I mean, I am. I'm happy I'm with Peter" MJ thinks to herself. Maybe MJ's just happy Peter's happy to be with her.

However, as happy MJ is being with Peter, unfortunately, her bladder isn't so happy. Suffice it to say, she desperately had to pee, no matter how cute a sleepy cuddly Peter Parker by her side looked. And so with almost surgical precision, MJ proudly thought of herself, she carefully lifted Peter off of her arm and shoulder, and lied his head down a pillow. The operation seemed successful enough, the patient was still sound asleep. And so, after making sure Peter was all good, MJ jetted the hell out of her row and quietly sprinted down the aisle as fast as she could to get to the bathroom.

After MJ relieved herself in the bathroom, she stood just outside it to stretch her limbs some. She had just been sitting and been repurposed into a human pillow for 4 hours, she needed to jolt her limbs back to life.

But, as she sees Brad Davis shyly waving to her as he heads towards her direction, MJ thinks maybe she should have just let her limbs stay dead after all.

"Hey, MJ"

"Hi, Brad"

Untolerable awkward silence ensues for a few seconds that feel like forever.

"Oh sorry, uh did you need to use the bathroom? Heh completely forgot I was blocking it"

MJ tries for a quick escape, hoping it was the locale Brad was here for. Though, MJ knew it was probably for naught.

"Actually..." says Brad, grabbing MJ's elbow which earns an instinctive glare from her.

Brad quickly lets go and says "Oh, sorry."

"Uhhh I just thought I could ask you something?"

Here's the thing with Brad fucking Davis, okay. There's the very well known Fight or Flight instinct that occurs in the face of being forced to confront a problem. However, there's another F that also occurs when being forced to confront a problem, Freeze. And that's exactly what MJ did in the face of interacting with Brad; she didn't run away nor did she nip the problem in the bud, she just... did nothing. She let whatever happen happen between them because there didn't seem to be any harm in it. Until now. Shit.

MJ merely sighs and nods in defeat. Well, she would have had to have this conversation at some point, might as well do it in the front of an airplane bathroom stall. Just rip the fucking bandaid off already.

"Yeah, sure, Brad. Hit me with it."

"It's just that, I saw you were sitting next to Peter and you guys were holding hands..."

"Uhm yeah, yeah we were in fact... doing all those things."

"Sooo..." phrased Brad as if he wanted MJ to finish his sentence for him.

"The hell I will" thought MJ, Brad can finish his sentences himself.

"You still haven't asked your question."

Brad simply sighs, exasperated MJ's had him forced to actually ask her what he's been dreading instead of her just telling him off the bat.

"Does that mean you guys are together now?" Brad asks, sneaking a look at the seats Peter and MJ were occupying.

The action makes MJ take a look as well, and in a blink and you'll miss it moment, (but this is MJ we're talking about, of course she didn't miss it) MJ spots a pair of suspiciously widened brown eyes and scruffy bed head airplane hair peeking out of her aisle seat and then immediately detracting back into the seats.

"This boy sometimes..." thought MJ. It truly was a wonder why she felt the way she felt about him. Goddamn Peter Parker.

MJ merely lightly chuckles to herself, Peter was just too fucking ridiculous and cute for his own good.

And so, despite the fact that they haven't even really talked about it yet, MJ feels brave enough to take the plunge for herself and say

"Yeah"

MJ looks back again to the seats, and once again, Peter was trying and failing to sneakily take a peek.

MJ smiles at her boyfriend's actions, shakes her head in adorable exasperation, looks back at Brad Davis and says "Yeah, we are."

"Uhm was there anything else?"

Brad's dissapointed demeanor could not be missed but it seems he's accepted MJ's answer and replies "No, no there wasn't."

"Okay, bye then. I'll just... see you in school, I guess"

"Yeah. See you," says Brad waving goodbye to MJ.

MJ waves bye back, turns around, and heads back to her seat, breathing one big sigh of relief.

God, she's glad that's over.

MJ finally makes it back to her seat and of course Peter would be pretending to be fiddling around his phone when she got there.

"Oh! Hey, MJ! Did you... go to the bathroom or something?" Peter asks in what could possibly be the most try hard fake oblivious one could muster.

MJ had no words, only the irl facial expression version of this (-_-) to say to Peter.

"Out with it, Parker" MJ says, lightly smacking Peter's chest. "You and I both know my bathroom escapades isn't what's on your mind right now."

Peter chuckles at that, but it didn't help lessen his nerves over what he was going to ask.

"What did Brad want?" asks Peter, his tone completely serious, devoid of any chill whatsoever, and maybe just a tinge of genuine fear and nerves.

MJ chuckled at Peter's reaction, maybe a jelly Peter was just a little cute. But then she thought that Peter may genuinely be confused, and if MJ was being honest, so was she. Well, maybe confused isn't the right word, more... unsure. Maybe they really needed to have this talk.

But then again, Peter was being too cutely nervous and jealous for his own good right now, fidgetly waiting in anticipation to find out what she and Brad were talking about. She had to mess with him about it. She was only human.

"Peter Benjamin Parker, are you being jealous right now?" asks MJ in the most fakely shocked tone she could muster.

And despite the fact that their altitude is like a couple of hundreds of feet up in the air, inside a metal air conditioned vehicle where he was just previously all cuddly and snuggly like in his blanket, Peter felt like it just got 100 degrees hotter in here and is desperately flubbing and flustered and has seemingly forgotten any word in any language.

"NO!! I mean... yes??"

Peter was still panicking and figuring out what to do and MJ just can't help herself, she really just can't.

"Because you know jealousy is the most common motive in murders and considering the fact that you already told me that you almost got Brad killed, plus the fact that-"

MJ leans in to whisper closer to Peter, looking around them and making sure no one's listening for dramatic effect.

"-you're the spider-man vigilante who beats up criminals, gang members, and super villains on a daily basis"

MJ finally leans away to talk normally now.

"that I just, I'm a bit concerned, Peter" MJ says, barely able to keep her laughter in check, but is able to nevertheless.

MJ's pretty sure she might have just broken Peter.

"OhmyGod MJ, NO! i dont i dont wanna kill Brad!"

It's a miracle the passengers of the entire plane didn't look at them with how loud the nervous Peter Parker shouted that out of context very incriminating line.

Luckily, Peter regains some of his common sense back and starts to speak in hushed softer tones.

"I mean do i dislike the guy? yeah maybe a little but it's just cause you have no idea what he was going to do MJ. Did i tell you why i almost killed him? Because really it was just an accident and i only meant-"

Peter blabbered on, explaining himself, when MJ thought okay, enough was enough, MJ said to herself. She can let Peter off the hook he is currently dangling himself in right now.

"Peter..."

"And then the agent just took her gun out while i was still half naked and-"

MJ merely sighs in exasperation and decides to kiss Peter, grabbing him by the collar of his science pun shirt, just to shut him up already before his head explodes.

And of course it shuts him up, him almost kissing back immediately even despite the slight confusion over what just happened.

MJ smirks a slight grin before pulling away from the kiss and Peter is left with an airy smille and a slightly confused but mostly happy expression on his face.

"I'm so confused," says Peter, chuckling, "What just happened?"

MJ lightly chuckles as well, shaking her head, and says "Look, Peter, I know we haven't really... talked about anything yet. And if I'm being honest, I'm still also confused or maybe just unsure about a lot of things as well. But the one thing I am sure on is that... i really like you. I couldn't care less about Brad Davis if i tried. As far as I'm concerned, he's irrelevant."

And finally, for the first time since he woke up and saw MJ talking to Brad, Peter can actually breathe properly.

"Oh okay. That's that's good cause I really like you too," says Peter with an ear to ear grin on his face.

"Well okay then, now if you excuse me, it's my turn to sleep, your turn to have numb limbs so skootch" says MJ with a yawn and gesturing for Peter to move.

Peter simply smirks, does as he's told, and replies "Gladly", making space for MJ to lay her head on his shoulder this time.

And as MJ felt her eyes slowly start to droop, and her finally starting to feel the sweet slumber of sleep overtake her, she holds and grabs onto Peter tighter, and she thinks to herself that she can actually sympathize with Peter's feelings of jealousy. As she feels herself start to fall asleep, lying her head onto Peter's shoulder, MJ is really glad to have this idiot that she can call hers. MJ only hopes that Peter feels that he can call her his as well.

Because as Peter watches MJ asleep, peaceful and at ease, he still can't help but feel that MJ deserves better than him. He finds himself at awe that the girl of his dreams is right here sleeping next to him and not, tall hunky quarterback Brad Davis who knows all her books and off the cuff literary references.

"Hey, MJ, I know you're probably asleep right now. But I just want you to know I'm really glad you're with me. You deserve so much better than me or even, Brad. I'm glad I get to be with you. I- really, I just think it's unbelievable that you actually like me."

MJ's heart warms, consequently melts, and her eyes shot up open at Peter's confession.

MJ has this vulnerable look on her face and she can't help but kiss Peter again, but this time it isn't rushed and unexpected, done to shut him up, it's for her to tell him something she can't put into words just yet.

MJ breaks away from the soft slow kiss, looks Peter in the eyes, and says "I told you, Peter, I actually like it better broken. I wasn't just talking about the necklace."

MJ looks at Peter with a sympathetic reassuring smile on her face and this time Peter kisses MJ now. After it ends, they don't need to say anything more, maybe they don't even really need to have their talk now. They both know what they both mean to each other, and they don't really need to say anything more than that.

So after their kiss and they both just share a lingering look, realizing just the importance of what they have, and not really needing to say anything more, since they both already know, MJ gets back to Peter's shoulder and closes her eyes one more time.

But just before MJ sleeps soundly for good, she says this without even opening her eyes.

"Hey Peter," her statement stifled by a yawn "if we still have a couple of hours, after i take this nap, we should watch a movie with that splitter of yours."

Peter perks up over the idea of him getting to do his plan after all and is happily surprised over the fact that MJ somehow found out.

"Oh, great idea, MJ. What do you wanna watch?"

MJ begins to suggest a plethora of true crime thrillers that has the murderer killing someone out of jealousy and Peter laughs. Peter jokes about how "you're never going to let this go, are you?"

"What do you think?" asks MJ before finally actually going to sleep for reals now this time, the last time.

"But you know what though, I actually kinda dig the jealous look on you, Parker. Kinda hot."

Peter chuckles to himself as MJ struggles to keep the smile forming on her face in check.

There is a very well known phenomenon that occurs when one's forced to confront a problem. In the case of confronting the pragmatics and mechanics of what Peter and MJ's relationship actually was, let's just say they took flight.

Cutie Reviews: TokyoTreat Oct 19

I think I’m doing pretty good progress wise, please be patient with me as I continue to try to review old boxes~

“October is here, bringing with it those spooky Halloween vibes! Halloween has been growing in popularity in recent years, and since Japan loves their seasonal snacks we had plenty of new, interesting items to choose from! In the spirit of being spooky but kinda cute, we’ve created a Poke-Monster Night for you to enjoy! No sharing these tricky snacks though!“

For this months contest, the winner could receive figures of Naruto and Sasuke from Naruto, while runner-ups won a cute pokeball candy and stamp. Lucky Treat consisted of Full Metal Alchemist, Dragon Quest, AND three devil fruits from One Piece, the Gomu Gomu (Gum), Mera Mera (Flame), and Ope Ope (Operation. Also, they accidentally mislabeled as the “dark dark fruit”). I was very excited that they included the 3 belonging to 3 of my favorite characters~

Pokemon Ramune & Strange Syrup DIY

(Please see top pic for images)

For this month, we get a basic, straight-laced ramune drink. Thank goodness :P as much as I like to try new flavors, sometimes I forget the original is probably the best... especially in comparison to those yucky flavors that I’m still traumatized by <_< and this month we even get a really cute pokemon label.

Ramune is basically that “soda“ flavor you’ll see in Japanese candy. It has a sweet, sort of lemon-ish taste but its not sour. It’s a little like sprite, but in my opinion it tastes way better. It’s especially yummy whenever it’s warm out or if you worked up a thirst. It’s also really fun to open because of the marble inside!

If you have ever wanted to try out Ramune, I would suggest checking on Amazon (they have a variety of fruit flavors too), or maybe the Japan Haul website (the website made through Tokyo Treat and its various brands).

The DIY I just included a bonus pic of because I’ve done it several times. It’s a super-sticky, thick syrup like candy that only requires you to mix the 3 flavors, which are strawberry, soda, and lemon. Together they make grape... which looks like this:

Because this candy was a little old, I think it was a bit off. The lemon and soda flavors were fine, but I noticed that not only was strawberry orange instead of pink, which might explain this... greenish-honey color. It’s usually a little purple if I recall.

Also, it didn’t really taste like grape this time, and it wasn’t as good in my opinion- but I guarantee if you open it as soon as you get it, it tastes much better. If you don’t like sticky/gooey textures you might wanna skip this one though.

Halloween Milk Senbei & Bloody Cola Marshmallow

Since I subscribed like 3 years ago, I’ve only seen senbei in a box once; I was very excited to see it again! It’s stuff like this I wish they would include more of, because I want to try the unique foreign flavors you know?

Anyway, the milk senbei is a plain, very thin melt-in-your mouth cracker-like snack that pretty much tastes like ice cream cone, but a teensy bit sweeter. This one comes with a cola flavored sauce to put on top of it. Each 1 (or one pack, not sure) is around 25-27 calories.

♥ ♥ ♥

I really like the taste of ice cream cones, I don’t know why, I just always have. Meanwhile, the jelly/sauce is purple, but it indeed tastes like cola ♥ it’s very yummy. However... together, they get a strange taste and that I’m not very fond of. I can’t even describe it, but its weird. But eating it in small doses is tolerable.

Speaking of cola, we also got a really cute marshmallow filled with a cola jelly! It’s like they combined two of my favorite things~

It’s very soft and yummy, the jelly inside tastes about the same as the sauce from the prior item, but it tastes so much better with the marshmallow.

Apple Pie Kit Kat & Brown Sugar Sweets

Instead of orange kit kats this year, we get to see fun purple one :D these kit kats are inspired by an apple pie. As you can see they also come in a large pack to share with others or to eat yourself. Each pack is 65 calories.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I love the coloring of these, first of all. It’s such a pretty purple, and its fun too. The apple flavor is very prominent, and it has a very small hint of spice, while the wafer brings to mind a sugary crust. It’s sweet, but mildly.

These are popular for their melty and soft texture, with a very thin, crisp layer of rich brown sugar coating. Each one of these is 17 calories.

These are kinda basic, but it’s a yummy sweet that isn’t overly sugary. I think it goes good with the apple pie kit kat, and maybe some milk.

Disappearing Taste?! Mixed Gummies, ZomB Grape Gum, & Blue Green Soda Gum

We got 3 gums this month! Our first is very familiar, because we’ve had this gum before. The only difference is this is its washed out, slightly different cousin. Basically, you’re given a set of flavors of gum, in this case yogurt, strawberry, orange, and white grape/muscat. You can eat them as is, or mix the flavors to make new ones, like a fruit drink, melon soda, or different fruits.

What makes this one special however, is that there is a special gumball that supposedly makes the flavor disappear? I mean, isn’t that what gum does normally?

This gum is really nice, you get a lot of them per-resealable pouch, and the flavors are always pretty good. Plus I like how the gum is smooth and soft in texture. I didn’t really notice any difference with this one from the last pack I had other than flavors.

Next up, we have the ZomB Gum; a popular Halloween item that we have seen before; I think about 2 or so years back, when we got the red cola vampire version. What makes this gum really fun is that it colors your tongue as you chew it, and it has a delicious grape flavor.

This gum has the same texture as the other gum, so I really like it. The color effect isn’t nearly as strong as the package shows, but it’s a cute little gimmick, and it tastes great. The flavor lasts about 5 minutes.

Our last gum is another brand I’ve had before. I have had both this flavor, and their cola version. It’s pretty much the same concept as the ZomB gum (they’re made by the same brand), but its in two sticks and you get a soda flavor, and a melon flavor.

I’d pretty much say the same things as I did about the previous two gums. All three were delicious and I would recommend any of them.

Poteco Pumpkin Gratin & Pringles

Here we have two salty, savory snacks for the box. But of course, the Poteco are not new to us, in fact I think last Halloween we got the exact same pack; minus slightly different packaging. Poteco is good and all, but I got so tired of seeing it that I tend to... shy away from it now. This flavor wasn’t really that different from the original/normal Poteco either.

I was a lot more excited for this item, a unique pack of Japanese Pringles :D Looking at the package, this is a type of ramen or noodle bowl flavor. It’s a mystery item in the booklet so I’m not really sure, but for this small can it is 267 calories!

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Honestly, these are so yummy that I don’t even care how many calories there are. The flavor is very strong, it tastes exactly like this cup ramen I like to buy. Trying to describe the flavor, I would say it’s sort of like beef or soy sauce broth, with a hint of a corn taste?

Pokemon Halloween Chocolate & Pikachu Gummies

These are both snacks we’ve had before, so I’ll try to just gist this one.

These crispy snacks are shape like pikachu heads and come in fun, colorful packaging featuring a variety of Pokemon, while the back usually has a fun puzzle or image. Each bag is 83 calories and they are by the brand Tohato.

These are really yummy x3 they have a slightly bitter chocolate taste and remind me a lot of the coco crispy cereals.

The other snack is also pikachu-shaped, but besides its head, there are also the occasional tail you might find ;3 These are by Lotte, and each pack is 90 calories. The flavor is grape and they taste really good too.

The only real thing to bother me about these is that they didn’t cut the gummy around Pikachu’s ears. It’s a minor thing but it bothers me a little.

Halloween Corn Potage Umaibo

Okay, so... because I talk about this a lot, I’m not actually planning on saying anything about it this time :P long story short, corn potage Umaibo is the best.

Squid Legs & Halloween Pizza Corn Snack

Don’t let the name fool you, these are not real squid legs- they just have a fishy taste. I’ve had these before too, and I have fairly complex feelings about them. On one hand they don’t taste terrible, but I don’t like seafood and the flavor is still unappealing to me. I like their crunchy texture though.

Next up is this corn puff snack featuring a delicious pizza flavor! They taste exactly like the pizza-flavored combos, if you never had those before I would recommend them too~

Pokemon Cola Chewing Candy

This is our final item... and now that I look at it, it kinda looks like a wafer cookie doesn’t it?

Anyway, these are sticks of chewing candy that come in various series and flavors. Before we had some grape Thomas the Tank Engine ones, and this time we get some cola Pokemon. Each wrapper usually includes a unique design, craft, or puzzle of some sort.

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ I don’t know if these are hard because they had to sit around for a while, or because that is just how they are. I don’t remember the Thomas ones being so hard, but they weren’t as thick as these. But if you suck on them for a few minutes they soften up, or you can crunch them to softness. The flavor is very yummy, I think it might be my favorite cola flavored item in the box.

♥ Cutie Ranking ♥

Content - 4.5 out of 5. Everything is very yummy, even though a fair amount of it was repetitive. I really liked it. Theme - 4 out of 5. Well, given the packaging and theme, I could say yeah they did pretty good. We had a decent amount of Pokemon items, but they could have done a little more too I think. Total Rank: 9 out of 10. I really liked this box, I just wish maybe we would have had a couple more unique items.

I’m Youngmin, and I’ll be your flower,” proceeds to grab a rose out of his apron pocket, “boy for today” • you weren’t joking when you said you felt a teensy bit light headed • your hand closed around the plastic-wrapped rose and you stared at it in awe • stick!! to!! the!! plan!! • you cleared your throat, “actually-” • “ahhh, table for one” • youngmin wasn’t being rude - at least he hoped you thought so- he just wanted to get to know you a bit better, plus, you willingly came to the cafe • “you’re in the same friday and wednesday lecture as me right?” he asked as he escorted you to your seat, ignoring your reluctant protests. Youngmin was going to keep you here • “um yes.” you replied softly, heartbeat accelerating by the seconds • he nodded, “ahhh, no wonder your face seemed familiar” • eye contact, charming smile, faint tinges of pink of his cheeks • “i knew i’d never forget a beauty like you” • he left you with the menu and your red face with a disorganised plan • that boy is smooth • @ Youngmin, I see you • it’ll be rude if i reject him as a server…..no i can’t do that • you ordered something because you were hungry though, it seemed too good to resist • “what’s a beauty doing here all alone?” Youngmin posed as he collected your menu • you mumbled out an incoherent, embarrassed reply • he chuckled, “will my aegyo get you to open up?” • instead of speaking, you plucked the plushie charm from your pocket. “i found this in the hall the other day, I figured I should return it.” • “oHmYgoD!” • truthfully, Youngmin allowed it to fall, hoping you would return it and take it as a sign • Donghyun had taught him a trick or two on how to be the nation’s boyfriend and he was ready to win your heart • “are you serious? I went crazy trying to find this! Thank you so much! Isn’t your name y/n? Can I call you that?” • he appeared a little flustered and surprised, clutching his plushie close • he genuinely treasures his plushie okay, fight me • it was cute • ugh • “y/n, and yeah sure” • Youngmin opened his mouth to speak but he was called away by another server. He smiled apologetically and thanked you again, promising to be back with your order soon • you scrambled to text your friends but your hands were trembling like a leaf that you missed all the keys • do leaves tremble? • your texts to them were a mess but they got your drift anyway • Youngmin arrived with your order, “I’m here to give you your food and my heart.” • you really couldn’t help but burst into giggles • “will you accept it, Y/N?” • beaming brightly, you nodded but was still unable to keep the laughter at bay • youngmin chuckled along with you • boi i kid you not hearing his laugh was a blessing • b l e s s • since the cafe was pretty empty, Youngmin settled down in the seat across from your own because “everyone should have company” • he wasn’t much of a talker but he was a good listener, the more he warmed up to you the more he spoke • his eyes lit up when you mentioned you listened to his mix tapes • “you’re a really great rapper” • he just blushed and mumbled a 'thank you’ in reply, the ability to speak left him • “ahh, t-thank you.” • you took note of how well his red hair contrasted against his peach coloured flower crown. It only made him all the more charming and prince like • Youngmin’s company was enjoyable and you could foresee him becoming one of your good friends • you were reluctant to leave • he felt the same way • Youngmin isn’t the kind for a hella lot of aegyo but he has a way with words • even though he says he doesn’t • “y/n? do you have a map? cause honey, I’m getting lost in your eyes,” he said, tapping the pot of honey on your table • o i love puns • “you’re so sweet, are you made out of sugar?” *lifts up jar of sugar* • you’re just out there dying at his lame ass puns • but at the same time, dying bc he’s FLIRTING WITH YOU • imagine your crush flirting with you • hah can’t relate • “y/n, we’re like a four-leafed clover, you are C, I’m R and there’s love between us” he purred out, making finger hearts • you’re nearly dead and although these are somewhat awful, it’s cute • “i never knew you were like this, you never really talk in class…..” you muttered. “so innocent…” • “the only crime I’ll commit is stealing your heart” • bYE BYE IM • it gets late and you eventually have to bid him goodbye • but before you leave, he slides you a note and says, “y/n, if you can accept my love, how about accepting my number?” • “yes! I’ll text you.” • you hastily punch his number into your phone, nearly messing up because you’re still freaking out • there’s an alpaca, llama emoji next to his name, whatever you can find on your phone • suddenly, you become the envy of all the customers, especially when he gives you a matching alpaca plushie • *makes a mental reminder to attach it to your uni bag* • Youngmin smiles bashfully at you but says nothing • when you hand back the board to him after writing your signature - because you paid by credit card, he whistles • “damn, i was looking for a signature on you because a masterpiece always has one” • you are about to punch him • but only out of love • your heart is going to explode • he winks from behind the counter as you head out • “see you soon, Y/N.”

5 times Louie tries to break up with Mark + 1 time he succeeds

In which Louie tries several times to break up with his boyfriend. Actual Break Up occurred the same day Nemo told Louie that he and Tae kissed.

1. The first time Louie tried to break up with Mark was just after he’d talked with Tae. Where he’d thought that maybe he should do it because he was so confused and because it might not be the right thing for him. So he geared himself up and made his way over to Mark’s place in the Tipton hotel, fidgeting nervously as he greeted Mr. Moseby. He could do this. He just had to get the words out and then he’d probably feel better.

“Mark, it’s Louie!” He called out as he opened the door to the place. “I have to talk to you!” He had only made it a foot in the entryway of Mark’s place when his boyfriend came rushing over, hands in the air as if to try to prevent him from seeing.. “Ok ok ok wait there Louie. I’m like almost done with it,” Mark said, and Louie was so bewildered by that that he forgot to come right out and say what he needed to say. Mark scrambled away and then a moment later said “Yooooo okay you’ve gotta see it now, it’s epic!” Louie made his way in to see a large portrait representation of him made out of jelly beans. He couldn’t believe his eyes. “Holy shit. You made food art?!”

Mark turned to him with the biggest smile on his face, and Louie forgot all about what he wanted to do. Instead Louie found himself lunging forward, his arms wrapping around Mark’s neck and he found himself kissing his stupidly adorable boyfriend with overwhelming enthusiasm. “Mark Lee, you are the coolest person on the planet.”

2. The next time he tried, Louie had been asked to wait for Mark in the band room. Mark said he really really wanted to show Louie something he’d learned for the flute. Except he would just sort of stare at Louie and Louie would stare back and Mark would start to turn red and when he blew into his flute it just came out as a squeak. “Hold on one second,” he said, lifting his finger and turning to test it out again. It came out as a squeak again.

Louie had to bite his lip to keep from laughing, and was about to suggest Mark come back to him about the demonstration or something when one of the other band guys (Johnny) blurted out “MARK, WHAT THE FLUTE?” Louie couldn’t keep it together at that point and started laughing so hard he could hardly function. “Oh my god. Mark you’re seriously too cute. It’s okay if you don’t play anything for me, seriously dude.” Mark looked incredibly flustered, and Louie couldn’t help but laugh, stepping forward to wrap an arm around the guy. “It’s okay. Let’s just go hang out and have fun. You can try this again later.”

3. The third time wasn’t even a real time at all, but Louie counted it because he actually did put the words together. It just wasn’t in any sort of context that would make it seem real. But there they were, staring at each other as they tried to order a pizza at pizza planet. “Wait wait wait wait...Mark...you can’t be serious. You don’t seriously like pineapple on pizza right? Tell me this is a joke. Please.” He looked across the table at his boyfriend with big pleading eyes. Mark looked at him as seriously as Louie did him and sighed. “I’m sorry Louie. But pineapple is so good dude!”

Louie groaned. “Ughhh Maaaaaaark. We have to break up. Pineapple on pizza, that’s just something lunatics eat.” He overdid it on the theatrics, resting his head on the table and shaking his head. “Unbelievable.” Mark snorted and ended up poking Louie’s forehead persistently until he finally lifted his head. “Come on dude, you’ve gotta try it for real. Try it again you’ll see it kicks ass.” Louie pursed his lips, eyebrows furrowing as he debated over it. “Hmmm….hmm….suspicious but maybe. Maybe I will if you give me something nice first.” Louie had been angling for a kiss or something, but Mark just sort of lit up and pulled out a bunch of little candies from his pocket. “Here you go Louie!” He beamed like he was absolutely thrilled to get the chance to give it to him, and Louie couldn’t help but smile right back at him.

4. The next time the subject of breaking up appeared, Louie and Mark were in the middle of a passionate debate during their Avatar rewatch. They both loved the characters, but they also disagreed strongly about the way it should have ended. “Maaaaark. Mark please no. Don’t tell me you think Katara should have ended up with Aang!” It was a travesty of epic proportions. Katara and Aang were just so...so boring! “No but like hear me out Louie. Isn’t it like...better that they have a strong stable relationship? It’s not intense and stuff but it’s like...super deep. They really care about each other. I mean isn’t that the important stuff?”

Louie’s eyebrows furrowed as he debated over this. “Honestly I think they should’ve broken up. No they should’ve never been together. You can tell that Katara and Zuko would’ve been a more interesting combination. Or Zuko and Aang. I mean you know just something more passionate. You’d feel more like they were in love. There’s stronger chemistry.” Mark hummed his disagreement, eyebrows furrowing as he seemed to be deep in thought. “Okay okay okay but hear me out yeah? You and me...we’re not firey or angry at each other all the time. We just laugh and have a good time right? And I think like...like we vibe really well you know? We don’t need that for me to be like...wow...Louie’s the coolest person I know. You know?” Louie could feel his face heating and he wacked Mark’s arm lightly. “Don’t say corny shit like that. I’m gonna break up with you one day for embarrassing me.”

The two looked at each other for a long minute and then started giggling, collapsing on their sides by the tv. “Yeah okay...you might have a teensy bit of a point Mark,” he said, shifting so he could wrap an arm around his boyfriend and enjoy a good cuddle with him.

5. The fifth time, it almost really did happen. And largely because Louie had been careless while they’d been watching some crime drama. He really wasn’t paying that much attention, but he did when one of the characters was doing cocaine. “That’s not how I remember it feeling. They didn’t make it look euphoric enough before the crash and shit.” Louie tsked, leaning his head on one of Mark’s pillows. He didn’t immediately notice something was off until he realized Mark was paler than usual and he was actually frowning.

“Hey. Mark. Maaaaark. You good man?” The boy seemed to shake himself out of his thoughts, though he did find him saying, “you’ve done cocaine?” There was a hint of concern in his voice, and Louie was eager to get them out of that one. “Oh well yeah but only once. It’s not a big deal, seriously. It was at that party at Mei’s...remember going? Well you disappeared and I didn’t have anyone to hang out with so I thought...you know...why not?”

It was a little alarming how quickly Mark’s face turned red, but it did. It seemed like Louie had actually upset him this time. Louie hadn’t even realized he could properly upset Mark. “Yo, I would have totally looked out for you if you had told me you were gonna be alone. I wouldn’t leave you hanging like that man. I thought you’d be with your friends! You said you would be.” Louie ran a hand through his hair, making a face at the memory of that party and the feelings he’d been dealing with then. “Yeah I know. I was upset I wanted to just forget about stuff and have a good time!” Mark made a face, rubbing his forehead as if he were exasperated by Louie’s logic. He’d never seen Mark that way before. It made his stomach twist in knots. “You can have a good time without going with drugs Louie. I just...you could really get hurt doing that stuff. I don’t want to see you hurting yourself. I couldn’t stick around and watch you do that to yourself.”

Louie froze at that, heart skipping a beat despite himself. “What are you trying to say? Are you breaking up with me?” He could feel his voice pitch up in alarm. Despite his own concerns in the matter, the idea of Mark leaving him behind was painful. Louie didn’t like it at all. “No. No no no no Louie that’s not...I just...I care about you okay? Please care about you a little more too yeah?” The two of them stared at each other for what felt like hours before Louie finally nodded and the two came together in a gentle embrace. “Yeah. Sorry for scaring you Mark. I won’t do it again.”

+1: Louie felt like he’d been crying for hours by the time Mark came by for their usual date night. He’d forgotten all about it as he struggled to process what Nemo had told him. But one of his brothers must have let Mark in, cause he came in to Louie’s room with a “Yo Louie, are you ready to-” and then he paused, taking a good look at Louie. “Oh man,” the boy mumbled, moving forward to wrap his arms around his boyfriend. Something that Louie both desperately wanted, and knew he really truly didn’t deserve. It made his stomach sink, because he knew that he couldn’t let Mark be this nice to him. Mark deserved better than a jerk who couldn’t stop thinking about a guy who would never love him anyway.

“Don’t know what’s going on but I’m here for you Louie.” His breathing hitched, and Louie found himself crying again, because he didn’t feel like he deserved Mark’s comfort at all. Not when he’d been harboring his feelings so long it had been a constant steady ache.

“Mark, I’ve sort of had feelings for Tae since before we even met,” he finally admitted, feeling himself hunch in shame, making himself smaller in Mark’s arms. “I haven’t really been able to get him out of my head.” Mark, to his credit, didn’t pull away. He didn’t yell or get upset or anything. If anything he drew his arms a little tighter around Louie. And then he said something that blew Louie’s mind. “Yeah I had a feeling. You did kinda draw him a lot. And tell stories about him.” Louie lifted his head from where he’d been sort of making a mess of Mark’s shoulder. “Y-You….You knew? Why didn’t you say something?”

It was another throbbing ache, another thing where someone he was close to kept something from him. Though he couldn’t for the life of him understand it. “Well it just...it seemed pretty personal dude, and you still liked being with me. I kinda figured maybe I’d be able to win you over. We’ve been having a great time right? I really like you, and I felt like you liked me too.” Louie shuddered. How was Mark this nice? How had he spent time with Louie as long as he did even though he knew Louie was a selfish asshole who couldn’t get over a guy? It made him feel even worse, despite the fact that this meant Mark was literally the kindest human being on the planet. What the hell was wrong with Louie?

“I did. I mean I do. I just...I...it really really hurts and you deserve to be with someone who will really love you. You Mark Lee, the most amazing flutist and decent human being in the world. I don’t think we should be together right now. I think...I really want to be the kind of person who really deserves you Mark. But I’m definitely not that person now.” Mark now looked like he was dangerously close to crying, and Louie could feel himself start trembling even more. He had to draw away from him. “I’m so sorry Mark. You’ve been...you were the best first boyfriend a guy could have.” He squeezed his boy- ex boyfriend one more time before he drew away, wiping at his eyes. “I’m so sorry. You should probably leave,” he added after a moment, guilt seeping through him as Mark got to his feet, no longer able to hide his own tears as well before the boy headed out and Louie was alone.

The Bachelor Australia 2017 Recap – Episode 4

“Hey! Your reviews are too boring!” They say. “Get some screencaps like the other reviews!” They say.

Well, I can’t get copyright free screencaps at this stage, but do you know what I can get you? Stick-figure drawings.

That’s right – I will now be adding my (very bad) stick-figure drawings to the reviews. And you’ll damn well enjoy them.

We open with Matty overlooking a pond, which is apparently at the Sydney Polo Club. It’s raining, and he’s a little too proud of himself for making a pun about dampening the spirits of the day.

Matty says, “Cobie loves animals, and I love horses, so I thought it would be good to join our passions together.” A horse is an animal, though. So it’s not really a joining of two passions, but more like the same passion?

Wait, we’re going straight to the date? No Osher delivering a card or anything? Righto then.

Matty rides in on a horse… with a helmet. I’m all for being safety-conscious, but it definitely takes away a bit of the fairy-tale element.

He hops down, he greets Cobie, and then… Harry the horse does a massive wee. Wow, horses do really big wees, don’t they?

Back at the mansion, the girls discuss how Cobie is going on the date. They’re all super jelly. The evil squad decide that Matty’s tactic is to “save the best for last”, Villain Number Two Jennifer makes a comment that she’s the greatest, someone compares Matty to a schnitty, which I’m assuming is a chicken schnitzel… a lot is happening.

Right, back to the date. Cobie has never ridden before, so Matty has to instruct her. He says, “I’m well aware that she’s on the back of a horse for the first time”, proving his ability to state the obvious.

Cobie uses the word “beautifulest”, so we’ll deduct points for that, however she does acknowledge that it’s not a word, so I guess the points go back on?

They horse ride for a bit, and then get to wash the horses. Peppy, Cobie’s horse, is loving the bath.

But then things escalate and soon Matty and Cobie are hosing each other down, she’s wearing a white singlet, and he’s already calling her “Cobes”… dude, calm down.

Matty’s talking head says, “I know that Cobie and I get along the best when we’re being silly and having a laugh.” Dude. You’ve met her once. How do you even know how you get along at all?

Back at the mansion, Villain Number Two Jennifer thinks that Cobie will fall in the friend-zone because “she’s too cutesy”. Her talking head says that, “Matty’s a man and he wants a woman… I know I give off sex appeal, and for me it’s quite natural.” So, let me get this straight, he doesn’t want an adult acting like a bitchy teenage girl, then?

Still on their date, Matty and Cobie find a SEXYTIME couch in a room “that Matty’s planned out”. Yes. It was definitely all his idea. Wait, this is the date? Horse riding for five minutes and then washing a horse? So we’re saving the big-budget dates until the fifth episode, right? Then it will start to get more interesting, right?

They discuss their dating history, and Cobie opens her heart. She says that she wants to date her best friend, but wants to have a connection too. Matty agrees, saying he wants to be friends first and then have it progress from there. Ha! Take that friend-zone naysayers!

Oh God. She wrote him a poem. It’s the first poem she’s ever written. She explains that because it’s her first time dating in a while, she’s finding it difficult to express herself. So she should definitely try a medium she has no experience in. (Side note: Remember last year someone wrote a poem? Or was it Sam Frost’s season where there was a rap? Let’s hope it’s not as cringey as that.)

It’s a bit cringey, and a bit sweet, and they’re playing romantic music so I think she’s in the clear.

Matty pulls out the rose. She says she really wants to kiss him. I’m cringing so hard. She wants him to go halfway. He’s being all romantic. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY’RE MUSHING! IT’S ROMANTIC! IT’S GOING A LONG TIME! Hghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghghgnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

I can’t cope. I’m not coping. I have lost the ability to cope.

We cut to the next day, and the girls interrogate Cobie. Nothing much is said, but now it’s time for the HYUNDAI SPONSORSHIP. There are literally twenty shots of the car from all different angles. I feel like the cameraman was like, “Yeah, work it, work it.”

Anyway the point of this sponsorship is that Matty is driving to the mansion to surprise them all.

They go to another part of the mansion, which is miraculously sunny, as opposed to the first part of the mansion, where it was pouring with rain.

Osher is holding a giant dice (or die, I guess), and that is not a euphemism. Although it might be, I have no idea.

Osher reveals they’re playing The Bachelor board game and I AM SO ON BOARD. For those who don’t know, there are few things I love more than board games. If you could purchase this game, I would literally be signing over my life savings.

So, the Monopoly knock-off game works like this, they roll a dice, and move a set number of squares. If they land on a square with Matty’s face, he asks you a question, if they land on a square with a rose, Osher asks both of them a question. There’s also a golden cage, for reasons that I’m hoping doesn’t involve BDSM.

Alix goes first, and she and Matty choose different answers for the multiple choice. Thrilling.

Simone is up next, and she lands on “choose a girl to cream pie in the face”. She picks Liz, who she says “never smiles”. It appears that Leah (Villain Number One) and Jennifer (Villain Number Two) also don’t like Liz. What the heck has Liz done? And who is she?

Michelle is next and she lands on a “go to jail” square, which involves the golden cage. But she’s allowed to take her glass of wine, so it’s not that bad really.

Some other girls go and I have no idea who they are. Basically, we learn some facts about Matty: his bike is named Cindy (no you did not read that wrong), his worst trait is that he’s late, and he has no pets.

Matty says that Florence is the biggest surprise, and I agree – the biggest surprise to us is that she’s there.

Cobie lands on “move ahead or free kiss” with Matty. Her talking heads says that she wanted to kiss him, but decided to move forward. Jennifer says that if it was her, she’d totally do it, because she understands and that “everyone’s here for the right reasons”. Yes, Jennifer, I can definitely envisage you being very calm and accepting of it if Cobie chose to kiss Matty in front of you. It seems like your tolerance of the other girls is very selective.

The rest of the game is heavily edited so I don’t really know what’s going on. Basically some ladies get swapped for others, there’s more cream pies to the face, and Michelle gets out of jail. Jennifer is one of the women with a pie to the face, and makes sure to get Matty’s attention before rubbing the cream all over her cleavage. I’m willing to give her characterisation to the producers of the show, and she is doing very well being so unlikeable.

Michelle wins the game, and won… a hug? No extra time? Nothing? What was the point of this stupid game then?!

Afterwards, Cobie says she’s disappointed for not taking the kiss, because as she says, it could have just been a kiss on the cheek. She flags that she wants to raise it with Matty tonight, which seems perfectly reasonable to me, but I guess I haven’t been plied with alcohol and locked in a mansion with 17 other girls who want to date the guy I’m into.

Cocktail Party Time!

Cobie says that she came into this experience not wanting to have any regrets, and she regrets not kissing him, so she wants to clear it up. See, perfectly reasonable.

Florence (who? Ah, the Dutch one) has something to show Matty. He’s getting a lesson in Dutch (side note: what’s that thing to do with fluffs and blankets? Isn’t that something about Dutch?). She puts Matty in a red, striped tie and circular glasses. She dresses up in a half-open white shirt over her black corset-dress, also dons some glasses, and holds a cane/pointer thing, which just gives the overall feel of some light BDSM. Is this the theme for this episode or something?

She teaches him how to say, “You have beautiful eyes” in Dutch. She then teaches him to say, “Will you accept this rose?”, and the whole thing is lightly flirtatious and a bit weird and a teensy bit awkward, like the time we played ‘Let’s Get to Know Matty J!’.

Next girl to chat with Matty is Simone, and it seems like she spends three minutes talking about how nervous she is.

So then the dramahhh: Cobie sees them talking, and approaches. She asks (very politely, I might add) if she can borrow Matty once she’s finished talking with Simone. I’m not really sure why this is an issue, because she gave him an option, but I guess the weirdness was the fact that she just stood off to the side, staring at them.

Simone leaves Matty, and goes to chat to… the Evil Squad? Wait, I thought she was one of the good ones. Simone, wasn’t it like two episodes ago that you hated these girls? And now you’re confiding in them? She says, “[Cobie]’s had two group dates and a single date”, and she isn’t impressed with the interruption.

Villain Number Two Jennifer says that Cobie “plays sweet, she plays cute, but she’s a hustler, she’s a bitch.” She also uses the word “hustler” again in a talking head. Jennifer, I’m not sure that word means what you think it means. Isn’t a hustler a gambler? Someone who, in fact, hustles? Looking this up, there is an alternative meaning, which is a prostitute, but I’m not sure she was going for something that aggressive. I can only assume she was going for “hussy”, which Google says, is a “brazen or immoral woman”. And that’s been your vocabulary lesson for today, class. Just, use words correctly, Jennifer.

Anyway, in the actual chat with Matty, Cobie explains why she didn’t choose to kiss him. Matty’s totally cool with it, saying it totally wasn’t an issue, unlike last season when Georgia Love had the issue of Courtney not giving her enough attention in group situations. You can’t win with this show.

Now for the second dramahhh: Leah walks in on their chat and asks if she can take Cobie back because she upset a lot of people. Cobie says she just needs two more minutes, and Leah says again, that she upset a lot of people. It’s very awkward and Matty seems annoyed.

Then, histrionic Leah takes her information back to the Evil Squad, saying that Cobie said she doesn’t care that she hurt other people’s feelings (for the record, she did say “I don’t care”, but to me it came across as more of a “ok, cool, leave me alone” than a “I hate everybody!” kind of thing).

Some of the girls try to defend Cobie, including Laura. You know what, Laura? You’re really growing on me. Anyway she says that Cobie wouldn’t have meant it in a malicious way, which is the way Leah is relaying it, and she’s so done with this shit.

Oh man, now she has to bloody deal with Jennifer. FFS this is so bloody frustrating. Laura says that she loves Cobie, and Jennifer says, “WE ALL LOVE COBIE”, and I let out an actual witches’ cackle. Lisa says she’s really happy Laura stood up for Cobie, and I’m on any team with Lisa and Laura on it. (Readers, I know what you’re thinking. Last episode I was on Simone’s side, and now she’s turned out to be one of the bad ones. Look, I guess I’m just on the side against evil, ok? I’m bloody Harry Potter.)

Cobie and Matty walk out into the group of girls, and Jennifer basically pounces on her, saying, “Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Cobie.”

It’s a bit awkward, but that’s mostly thanks to the editing and sound effects. We don’t get to see any more of the fallout, because this is The Bachelor, and if there’s one thing this show doesn’t know how to do, it’s transitions.

Rose Ceremony time!

Osher introduces Matty, saying the ladies look a bit better than during the “Crème de la crème of board games”. They have literally said that phrase three times this episode, and for once, I’m not exaggerating.

Matty picks a few girls, and he asks Florence to accept her rose in the Dutch he learnt, which is pretty sweet.

For a second, I’m thinking that maybe he’ll get rid of one of the villains tonight, and squash the issues in the house. It would be fitting with his ‘I’m not taking any shit this season’ attitude he’s displayed so far. Like he gets a say in it.

He clearly doesn’t, and Jennifer and Leah both get roses. Jennifer sashays up to him, and I feel like she really treats him like a prize to be won, which in fairness, he kind of is in this context, but you don’t have to treat him like that.

This is the one thing I really dislike about this show. It’s not like Matty is going to pick either of these mean girls in the end. They’re clearly there to further their radio career, or their red carpet reporting career *cough Laurina cough*. They’re easy fodder to just add some manufactured dramahhh to the show, and look, it works: the show is selling a product, and we’re all buying it. But how cool would it be to just see a bunch of nice people and them all behaving respectfully of each other, and Matty just picks who he likes best? Huh? WHAT’S WRONG WITH THAT UTOPIA?!

The other thing is that it is definitely not his choice to keep all of these girls. There’s clearly a stipulation in his contract that the producers would get a say in some (if not all) of the girls chosen. Which means we’re basically waiting ten weeks for him to get rid of the ones he knew on the first night that he didn’t like.

Anyway, tangent over – It’s down to Elise (apparently a montage girl) and Belinda (apparently the Love Coach who made Matty stare into her eyes). Elise gets the rose.

Later, Belinda. Good luck with your love coaching.

Next Episode: A high building, and some more dramahhh with Cobie. And a face-off date?! Not like the movie, I’m assuming, although that could be cool. (Side note: Remember when Sam the model was on that kind of date and he had to go home? Hahahaha it was great.) And Sian gets grumpy at the cocktail party. Ummm… who is she again?

Cutie Reviews: Tokyo Treat May 18

Ahhhh, I took a bit longer than I would have liked to. But with good reason.

Sorta.

Basically, I spent the past few days going through all of the old crates to sort the items and dispose of the boxes/crates. They take up a lot of space when you order so many, and I bought some cute little boxes to sort the items by type and take them to my room.

I still have some to go through, but I made a lot of progress. I think I threw away about 20 boxes. But I did keep a handful of them either because I had use for them, or someone I know did. It’s actually been kind of fun going through them :3 and oddly therapeutic.

Anyway, let’s get on with it! If you like anime, manga, and video games, this box is perfect for you!

Theme: ANIME SNACK ATTACK

So, as you can see, we’re having an anime (and manga and video game) theme. Three things I adore!

LUCKY TREAT

The Lucky Treat is full of anime inspired items, and Pokemon! One of the most popular merchandising brands you find in these boxes lately. Like literally, nearly each box I've gotten recently seems to have some form of Pokemon item in it (not counting the makeups. But I know they have pokemon beauty products.)

MINUTE MAID CRAFTZ CHERRY & PEACH

I'm putting this here because the image of this is the very first one in the post. You can see it on the right-hand side there. Anyway, this is a drink by Minute Maid, a very popular juice brand that I like x3 It combines the sweet, flowery tastes of cherry and peach- I think this would perfect for spring time!

If you like Peach then you'd like this drink, basically. The Peach is overwhelmingly strong, and there is a faint cherry-ness to it, but it mostly blends into the peach. It was refreshing~

Sriracha Rice Chips & Don Taro Udon Snack

First up we got some delicious looking Sriracha chips made from brown rice and soy beans. As you can see on the bag in the pic. These are gluten free and flavored with a spicy kick! Perfect for those intense scenes; or when you start feeling yourself getting tired and need a wake-me-up.

Although, there was one little problem with mine...

Seeing this nice, big clean slice in the bag had me worried a teensy-bit. It came like that out of the box and it wasn't tampered with as far as I know- so I can only assume it was a last-second manufacturing thing that went unnoticed. It happens.They seemed fine, so I just put them in another bag.

Besides a tiny bit of staleness they tasted really good x3 They had a "deep crunch" to them, being sorta soft (which was either staleness or due to being made out of bean and rice) but still crispy. Oddly they reminded me of chicken-flavored ramen.

They are spicy, but it has to build up. It sort of lingers on the tongue for a few minutes but otherwise you won't notice it just eating a couple. It wasn’t really hot though for being made with sriracha. But I really like eating it so maybe I just didn’t notice?

Our next item in the pic is a snacking noodle dagashi, flavored after a real udon bowl.

Honestly they tasted a lot like those chips did. Minus the rice-bean texture. They're not bad or anything, but I'm not super-obsessed with snacking noodles; or noodles as a whole. I have to be in the mood for them. But they didn't taste bad, as I said, and if you really like crunchy snacks (or ramen) you would probably like these.

MENTAIKO UMAIBO & SENZU BEAN EDAMAME

Oh, our usual Umaibo and share pack snacks! How I love and sometimes detest you~

Depending on the flavors that is.

Our Umaibo is one I've had, maybe two other times by now. Mentaiko is "salted, creamy pollock roe", or fish eggs if you're not familiar with the term.

Not being a fish person, I've never tried fish eggs before. They haven't appealed to me. So I can't say if this tastes accurately or not- to me it reminds me of their cheese-flavored ones. I’m not a big fan of this, but it’s not bad either. It's not as strange to me as it originally was the first time I tried it.

Now, I've already given my opinions of these "share packs" so I won't waste time doing it again. For this month we get packs of this edamame themed snack with a light flavoring on them. First of all, each bag is 64 calories, making this a nice snack for those who worry over their weight or just want something a little healthier.

Apparently chosen to represent the "Senzou Bean" from Dragonball. Each bag also has a cute design, made to look like a mesh bag or pouch filled with edamame!

If they reminded me of anything on smell alone, I'd say "cheez-its and some green vegetable". Their taste and texture is about the same too, but I do get an edamame vibe. I think its adorable how they look like them too x3 and they have a light saltiness to them that is pleasant.

Besides the snacking noodles, I’d say these were the top in crunchiness.

DRAGON BALL CHEESE PUFFS

You read that right: Dragonball Cheese Puffs. These are 91.9 calories for the bag, and include a fun card as part of a game series. I know they've made these, but I'm used to seeing the gummy ones; but because I only buy those types, it was neat to try another kind.

So... as you can see, I got Vegeta! He's my favorite x3 I can't ever use the card for its intended purpose- but I'm happy regardless.

They're basically like any other cheese puff-based snack. However, the flavoring was actually very light on the cheese and tasted more like the corn its made out of. But it didn't taste bad, and the crispy texture is nice. These are good as long as you're not expecting a huge, cheesy flavor.

ALMOND TOFU CHOCOBI & CHOCOPIE

I think I'll swap things around and start with the Chocobi; it hasn't been in the box for a while. This time, rather than a fruit it's flavored after a specific dish: Almond Tofu, a smooth and healthy Japanese dessert. I've never tried it before but I assume it's like yogurt or pudding with a jelly texture.

The box is 139.4 calories, and was made in celebration of yet-another Crayon Shin-chan movie. This one features stickers from different regions in Japan, the one I got says Aichi. But to be honest, the only one of these I recognized was Hokkaido. I kinda wish I got that one~

As usual Chocobi as a texture is pretty nice. It's crispy, and they come in such a cute shape!

However... as usual, they also go stale VERY quickly.... So I've never been a fan of them.

Now these, the flavor isn't as odd as past ones I received. It's kind of like sweet, very light coconut, maybe a tiny bit almond x vanilla-ish. I really like almonds and tofu, but I didn't come to this snack knowing what to expect so I can’t say I’m being picky.

Our other item here I was a lot more excited for, meanwhile. The Petite Chocopie by LOTTE! It's basically chocolate covered cake and marshmallow cream- but since when has that ever been a bad thing??

Per each cake/pie its 74 calories, which isn't that bad if you want something sweet. According to the back they also have a type that features a chocolate drizzle rather than coating, and has chocolate and marshmallow cream inside~

Right off, if you don't like dark chocolate then you probably won't like these. I don't think they're made with it, but they certainly tasted like it. My mom thought so too, and she hates dark chocolate- which is a shame because I really like it. But at least I know it'll be safe from her ;3

These were pretty good, but I did have one complaint. As you can see in the picture I took they don't really sync up with the photo on the package. Which is common, I know, but what the actual item lacks in thickness it also lacks in taste unfortunately. With the rich chocolate and cake/cookies under it, the marshmallow cream is too thin- you barely taste it, if at all.

SHIN-CHAN GUMMY, SPLATOON GUMMIES, AND THOMAS THE TRAIN CHEWY CANDY

This single piece of Shin-chan Gummy is available in soda/ramune, and cola flavors. As much as I enjoy soda/ramune, I really, REALLY wish I got cola. Or maybe one of each. The image in the booklet is a tiny bit misleading because you only get 1.

I kinda had to leave it in the package because by the time I got to it (a week ago, just about) it had like... melted into the plastic. At least I assume. I tried to remove it and it was not coming. I took the picture, then I mangled it to get as much as I could out.

I LOVED how this tasted. Exactly like the soda/ramune flavor I like. However, I couldn't necessarily judge the quality of the gummy due to unforeseen issues. As noted above...

The next item I got was another one I was excited for cus who doesn't love Splatoon, am I right?

I only have the first game for now, but I'll be getting the Switch VERY SOON, so I'm excited to get the second on x3 I also have a cute pink water-filled squid I got from the toy store like a year or so ago.

Anyway, these gummies are available in Orange and Melon. There's also a very rare gummy shaped like an octopus that can be found in certain bags. Mine wasn't one of them. One bag is 155 calories, which is kind of lame due to how small it is. BUT at the same time, I've seen worse.

Not only are the gummies really cute, but they taste very good too. I was also happy to see that the bag is zip-lock style and they lasted for 4 months with no sign of aging!

I was so excited when I got them back in May that I couldn't resist trying them then (=´3`=)

The gummy texture... I can’t really describe. It's chewy, but not hard, and they don't take five minutes to eat either. More like a few seconds.

Our last item in this picture is the Thomas the Tank Engine Chewy Candy!

The inner-child in me was really excited to see this. Not only because the candy itself sounded good, but I grew up on the Thomas the Tank Engine stop-motion cartoons x3 Ironically, now that I'm older he seems a lot more popular. That or I just never noticed it before. There's also another sense of irony here though. Back in August, I was re-watching the super old original stop-motions I grew up on; not for any real reason, I was just bored and like the background noise.

Okay, so anyway the candy is a grape chewy candy by Lotte. It looks a lot like gum but it's kind of thicker, and what's fun is that each piece has a little puzzle on it, or you can fold the wrapper in certain ways to make shapes or "toys". Each stick, or the whole pack is 85 calories. I can't actually tell.

It pretty much tastes exactly like grape hi-chew, the only difference is the texture. So if you like Hi-chew or grape candy you'd like this. If you don't then... you probably won't.

(Oh, and if you're curious my favorite is/was James~)

BORUTO GUMMY & BORUTO PINEAPPLE JELLIES

Our last items of the box are these two "Boruto" snacks! Boruto, if you never heard of the series is essentially a sequel to "Naruto". A series I was very fond of. However, I don't like Boruto. It's not because of the characters or anything, but because of some "decisions" they made I just didn't agree with. Besides the cute packaging and decorative detail on the bag, the jellies each feature a decorative lid design based on various Boruto characters. Each Jelly is 19 calories, and are pineapple flavored, with real pineapple juice!

This box was essentially full of nostalgia for me x3 when I was younger I loved eating little jellies. They became pretty scarce as I got older though, and one day they kind of just stopped showing up. It's a bit disappointing.

They taste really good, it's not an overwhelming Pineapple flavor. I love the slippery, soft, squishy texture~

Our final item is this Boruto energy-drink flavored Hand Gummy :3 Hand Gummies are popular and fun, being based on the game Rock-Paper-Scissors. I've gotten one or two other gummies like this before, but if I recall they were much smaller- but I got scissors both times, including this one!

That's usually my go-to gesture and always has been ;D But you can also look at is as "peace sign" too if you wanted. Anyway, these are energy-drink flavored, but the booklet assures us that no energy drink ingredients were actually used in making this. It's simply BASED on a fizzy, sweet-and-sour pineapple energy drink.

That rested any concerns I had, because I'm one of those who people who avoids energy drinks at all cost. If I want energy I'll just eat sugar.

It pretty much tastes like the jelly, but the flavor was stronger. I also really liked its super-soft texture x3

Quality - 4 out of 5. The only real reason why I marked it down was because of that slice in the rice chips bag. I'm sure this was an extremely rare thing though, I usually don't have any problems with any of the items I get in this box.

Content - 3 out of 5. I didn't hate anything at all this time around- which is almost as rare as the above mention. Usually I find one item I detest, and I pretty much only disliked one item, and even then it wasn't that bad...

Theme - 5 out of 5. Besides a couple of items, it was pretty much covered in anime stuff!

Total Rank: 12 out of 15 Cuties. I genuinely LOVED this box in comparison to the April box. It had a couple of faults but nothing serious that I couldn't overlook. Considering how excited I was for this, I feel like they could have done better- but they did really good! Maybe like a... B+

♥ Cutie’s Scale of Yummy ♥

1. Cherry x Peach Drink - It was so refreshing~

2. Splatoon Gummies - I can't say I prefer orange or melon flavors in comparison to ramune, grape, or cola- but they tasted so good and looked adorable!

3. Thomas Grape Chewy Candy - Loved. Loved. Loved!

4. Hand Gummy - I liked this just a little bit better than the jelly. It's very soft and chewy, I'd recommend these if you can find them, they come in many flavors.

5. Pineapple Jellies - I loved their soft, wiggly-jiggly texture~

6. Chocopie - I loved the soft, cakey texture and its dark chocolate-esque taste~

7. Rice Chips - Delicious!

8. Shin-chan Gummy - I was disappointed with this because it was delicious! I just wish it hadn't stuck to its packaging. Well, that and I wish we got maybe one or two more~

9. Edamame snack - They tasted good but I just liked other stuff better.

10. Dragonball Cheese Puffs - I liked how they tasted, but I felt like it might have been a tiny bit misleading cause it didn't taste like cheese to me. I don't know if its because the information in the booklet was wrong, or... I’m very happy with the card I got though!

11. Mentaiko Umaibo - It tastes better than when I first tried it. But I can't say it's in my top 5 Umaibo list...

12. Udon Snacking Noodles - As I mentioned, these I have to be in the mood for. They don't taste bad but it's not something I'd probably reach for.

13. Almond Tofu snack - I really am not just a fan of Chocobi...

Alrighty, here we are at the end of another review. I'm sorry if it seemed like the quality started lowering so far down. I'm feeling kinda tired and my head hurts suddenly, and after trying to write these twice I really didn't want to have to try again you know?

Anyway, I hope you'll stay tuned for the next review :3 it'll be May's Doki Doki crate, then we'll be moving onto June stuff!

Cutie Reviews: Sakuraco April 21

I’ve had this review ready to work on for a while, but I’ve already explained what kept it so I won’t bother wasting your time. I also found out the May box will be coming soon, so I figured I should really try to get to this.

Oh, uh, also... I’m sorry for the bad lighting btw. I was in a hurry when I took these pictures and you can see in some of them the clouds couldn’t make up their mind when providing me with lighting.

“This month, we’re celebrating one of the most timeless flavors - Matcha. With the flowers in bloom and refreshing spring breeze, the earthy flavor of Matcha perfectly aligns with this lush time of the year. Inspired by the vibrant greens of spring, we curated our favorite Matcha sweets made by beloved local makers, and complimented them with additional floral and fruity seasonal delights.“

For this month, the booklet highlights Tsuruya Confectionery (who special in seasonal jellies, puddings, and cakes) and Aziroan (specializing in “Kintsuba”, jelly based wagashi usually made from red bean or sweet potato). As well as the Wakayama prefecture, a history on Matcha/green tea, and a mini-lesson on tea ceremony. The prizes for the photo contest were fancy sakura glasses and handkerchief.

For this box, my extra’s included some little random sweets, a couple from the prior box.

Plum Yokan & Matcha Azuki Waffle

Our first item is a pack of these cute little waffles made by Confectionery Studio Sheri Coco, located in Ibaraki. They’re soft and bready, and the book recommends toasting them to elevate the flavor even more. Vegan friendly. contains egg, soybean, milk, and wheat allergens.

If you like green tea but you’re not a huge fan of azuki, this is probably a good balanced treat. I honesty can’t recall getting much flavor from this, and I mainly tasted the matcha. However, the strange thing is, when I came back to the other waffle a day or so later, I was only tasting a plain bread, which is a flavor I strongly dislike.

This plum yokan comes all the way from Nagano, made by the Kanemata Confectionery. It’s small shape accents it’s cute, floral paper wrapping.

Vegan friendly, contains no allergens.

I’ve never tried a yokan with a wafer over it, so it was kind of strange having a combination of the two. The plum tastes like an actual, sweet plum fruit, while the wafer is plain. The little beads on top didn’t really add anything more then a little bit more texture, but I really liked the combination. It was yummy!

Sakura Yunomi & Gold Plum Tea

The dish was from our prior months box, while the cup came from this one x3 aren’t they lovely?

The cup comes from Japan Mag located in Osaka. Meanwhile, our tea comes from Sekimoto Foods in Wakayama. This is a very pretty tea, featuring gold leaf that sparkles vibrantly in the light pink tea, along with what I assume are pieces of plum?

Okay so it gets a 10 out of 10 on the gorgeous scale, but flavor wise... I definitely prefer it to our previous tea. It was a bit salty like it, but it also offered that sour taste of plum that I feel like would be a hit-or-miss depending on the person drinking it. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either.

Matcha Senbei & Sakura Karinto

Here are two unique looking snacks, our first comes from Kashiwado in Niigata. These thin crackers feature a matcha scent and lovely etched designs. They would go perfect with some tea or as a quick midday snack with friends. Vegan friendly, contain egg, milk, soybeans, and wheat allergens.

They don’t have too much taste, so if you’re someone who doesn’t like foods you could consider to be plain/bland, I’m not sure you would enjoy this one. I also couldn’t pick up the scent as described- but to be fair my nose only wants to work some times, so it doesn’t pick up some scents. I feel like these would be a good “accent“ to other snacks or drinks.

Karinto are a very crunchy cracker, these reminded me a lot of fried dough pieces. They were made to emulate sakura mochi. Vegan friendly, wheat allergen.

These were really good! They have a light sakura scent and taste with a hint of salty-sweetness, and the crunchy texture is just right. It’s not too hard for the mouth either.

Matcha Kintsuba & Yamecha Monaka

These snacks would look lovely paired with some tea wouldn’t they? The Kintsuba was created by Aziroan, a smooth red bean treat covered in a thin, flaky matcha batter-like coat. Vegan friendly, wheat allergen.

I kind of liked this one, it felt unique to me. I’m not really big on the texture of beans, but it was fun to observe the detail while I was snacking on this. It didn’t taste too bad either.

This next item is another wafer-jelly sort of combination, coming from Eguchi Confectionery in Fukuoka. “Yamecha“ is a tea known for its refreshing taste, and in this wafer it’s made from syrup and sugar. Vegan friendly, contains no allergens, and they also contain evaporated liqueur.

I’m not big on green tea, which I’ve mentioned before in various reviews. I’m overcoming that because of all the exposure to it- but with how bitter this was, the past-me wouldn’t have liked it at all o_o I found it to be tolerable, it’d probably be yummy with a green tea drink. I really like the texture of the jelly.

Matcha Mochi & Matcha Pudding

I’m sorry for how gross the mochi looks, sadly it couldn’t be helped and I’ll explain why in a moment. This came from Tengudo in Hokkaido. Vegan friendly, wheat and soybean allergens.

So... there was more to this mochi. The issue was that it was wrapped in that really thin, dissolvable paper that shows up on occasion in some sweets I’ve had in the past and I never know what to do with it. Is it edible? Is it just supposed to slide off? No clue. The mochi was extremely sticky and overall a big mess.

The booklet suggests chewing slowly to allow it’s full sweetness to come out, and I think it was right. I didn’t hate the taste at all, I just wish I didn’t have to waste it because I can’t eat it properly.

Our pudding comes from Tsuruya, and if you hadn’t guessed already this is our first non-vegan item, as it contains gelatin. It also has milk, soybean, and egg allergens, and evaporated liqueur. It was made from Shizuoka grown matcha tea leaves.

I’m not a big pudding consumer, but I enjoy it on occasion. I’ve never had green tea pudding before, and it was delicious. The flavor was on the lighter side and it’s smooth, creaminess won me over. It was also super-wiggly and jiggly, so it’s fun to play with.

Matcha Yokan Roll Cake & Macha Mochi Monaka

(This pic comes from the booklet, I accidentally deleted the picture of the sweets from my phone and didn’t have them uploaded yet <_<)

This pair both come from confectioneries located in Nagano, the top from Nisshindo. Vegan friendly, features the common allergens already listed in this post, and traces of 0.02% rum.

This is a cute, bite-sized cake that was very soft and fluffy~ The cream looks fairly thin, but I could still taste it pretty well. It was sweet, and the chunk of azuki in the middle added more texture to the overall thing.

This other one comes from Bessho, and is pretty much a smaller, fluffier-looking version of the previous monaka snack. This one has azuki combined with the matcha jelly. Vegan friendly, common allergens.

This was another sweet featuring a combination of sweet and bitter. It was okay, but I think by this point I was a little over the wafer-jelly combination since we had so many of the same textures this box. I don’t remember it’s taste too much but I don’t think I hated it.

Soft Milk and Strawberry Baumkuchen & Sakura Sugar Candy

These are our final items, sweets that we got a couple of each. This picture I just took, which is why they’re still wrapped. Accidentally lost the pic for them too.

I love strawberries, and I’ve always wanted to try a real baumkuchen cake so I was looking forward to something different from the rest of the box. It comes from Daiyo Foods in Aichi. Vegan friendly, common allergens included.

I loved it’s fluffy-soft texture. It features a light sweetness and was maybe a teensy-bit dry, but the flavors described were extremely faint. I still really liked it though. I love how you can see all the individual layers in the cake too!

But for some reason this snack gave me that... vibe I get whenever I have something with alcohol in it. The booklet doesn’t mention any sort of alchohol though, so I’m not really sure if I was imagining it or what.

From Tsuyamaya Confectionery located in Shimane comes our final sweet, soft jelly-like candies made from mousse, meringue, ajar jelly, and Sakura ajar jelly. Vegan friendly, egg and soybean allergens. Contains evaporated liqueur. This is a spring limited edition treat.

I love candies and sweets like this, they were softly chewy and so pretty to look at. The one I just ate was a bit more firm then the first one was, but still good. The sakura flavoring was pretty light, but the candy itself was very sweet.

Opinions

Content - 3 out of 5. I think I liked this one about the same as the previous box. I wasn’t in love with too many items, but I didn’t think of anything as unpleasant or gross. I feel like we had a lot of the same/similar textures though.

Theme: 3 out of 5. Half of the contents fit the matcha criteria, and overall it had a spring-ish vibe, which it seemed to be going for.

Total Rank: 8 out of 10 Cuties. My excitement for this brand remains strong! For someone who doesn’t like matcha or green tea very much, I enjoyed the box and it’s various tastes of it. Everything seemed to go along together nicely, and it was still a lot of fun to try it all :3

Okay, so something’s wrong with my front page picture. Instead, we’ll change things up a teensy bit, and I’ll make the front image the April Glam Gift set.

Glam Gift and Photo Prize

So as you saw above, our GG for this month was based around Witch’s Pouch, a brand that happens to stay classy with a touch of cute whimsy. The products are a variety of cosmetics and some extra useful items, such as primer and cleansing pads.

Meanwhile, the Photo Prize consists of these super-cute Line and A Peach lip balms. They look so deliciously adorable~

Pores Clear Pack Peel Off & Foot and Heel Peeling Mask

Our first two items are peeling packs, but for different parts of the body. First, we’ll begin with the pore pack, which comes from the brand Porez. It’s applied directly from the bottle and is made from Moroccan lava clay and charcoal to absorb pore impurities while cleaning the nose.

Honestly I’m not sure if it really does much, other then help pull up some more loose/dry/flaky skin from my nose. It always feels nice after I apply some facial product though. It has a strong scent, I’m not really sure how to describe it.

It goes on pretty easy but until you get the hang of it, you can expect it to be a little blotchy, and if you’re not careful you could have a wet layer beneath a dry layer, rather then satisfyingly removing it all at once. The hole it comes out of can also be kind of messy, but it’s easy to clean up.

I was super-excited for this next item :D we don’t get foot peeling packs very often (in fact it’s been like 2 years since I did it last, if not longer).

This one features a little cute panda motif and is made from natural extracts of fruits and herb. What makes this pack fun is that not only do you apply the product to the socks yourself, but they include cute paw print sticker/tape strips to help hold them on.

Alright, so it’s only been about 3 days since I used them. The description says it takes anywhere from 4-6 days before the skin begins to peel, so I’m not going to be rating this one yet. I’ll have an update on it when something starts to happen in a future post. But for now I’ll say it smells wonderful prior to putting it on, right after removing it, the scent is still there but there was also a very strong alcohol scent overtaking it. It really irritated my nose DX

Mediheal Hair Sheep Steam Pack

I was also really excited for this one, simply because a few Youtubers I watch have tried it out. It’s always kind of fun to get a product you recognize :3

This product promises to leave your hair feeling silky and shiny after use, and it “heats up“ to help repair damage like split ends, and frizzy dryness. It contains items such as goat milk and hydrolyzed collagen.

So... I have mixed feelings about this one. It’s really cute and sounds kinda fun, it also has a decent scent. But I really don’t think it actually did anything for me (but to be fair, it’s about a year old, that could be why?), and it kind of felt like an inconvenience. After you wash your hair you have to towel dry it, then put this on for so long, and rinse it out. My dad of all people had to help me put it on too, because I was having trouble keeping it open (product is inside of it) and hold my hair up.

Animal Beating Net

Next up is this ultra-cute looking sponge that comes shaped as a froggy, bear, fish, or ducky! It also includes a small mesh-ish net that you put the little sponge into and wet, then you apply a facial cleaner or soap to foam it up nice and good. This was made to increase the foam/lather while cutting down on how much product gets used.

It’s silly but I hesitated a little to open the package; it’s so cute looking, I didn’t want to ruin it... but I did, and I set my little froggy free.

Initially, I didn’t really think much of it, but the more I was using it the more fun I found it to be. It’s so cute, and yeah you have to clean it up afterwards, but that’s besides the point. You get a good amount of lather, and you can keep re-foaming it with a bit more water if you need more.

Arm Massager

This item comes from the brand Tsubosh. It’s available in this really light pinkish color or white. You roll it around the shoulder or wrist to loosen the joints and pressure points.

I wasn’t really sure if this was doing anything honestly. But because of my stiffened joints and aches as of late, I feel like it’s been helping that a little bit. My mom (who is still bedridden, but she’s capable of standing and using crutches now, and she can walk a teensy bit) really likes it too, and she’s been using it as a make-shift weight to lift.

Tinted Lip Balm, Bubble Lip Pack, & Heart Blossom Blush

I really didn’t need to cram all 3 of these into one picture, but I don’t hate it.

First we’ll begin with the blusher, which comes from one of my favorite brands, Etude House. This is a limited edition for spring, featuring a cute heart-shaped window and flowers etched into the blush. It’s soft with a faint shimmer, and was available in two colors: Attracted Love or Unrelenting Spring.

At least the booklet says. Mine is listed as the color Just Clicked on the box it came in. It’s a sort of... coral-ish color.

Well it gets high cuteness points. It’s also really pretty, and the container it came in makes me feel so fancy~

The color itself sort of worried me, given how orangey it looks. But when I applied it on my cheek, I noticed it’s not nearly as pigmented as it was on my fingers (you’re supposed to use a brush or puff or something but I didn’t have one nearby), so it sort of just added a natural looking glow to my cheeks.

This cute little lip pack comes from Choosy, a well-known lip-based brand that we’ve seen countless of times within these cosmetic boxes. This was really fun, it was just like using one of those foaming face masks, but on your lips, and it has a lovely mint scent!

I really, really like this. It’s not a long-term product as far as I can tell, but it’s really fun to use and it smells so good. My lips feel refreshed after using it, especially when you apply a little bit of lip balm afterwards.

Also, I’m not really sure but I think you can use this multiple times. You can’t reseal it, but you get so much product, I can’t imagine using it all at once. It only takes a little swipe to fully cover my lips. Even days later, it’s still fresh and works fine.

Our final item and probably my most favorite of the bunch is this kawaii Pokemon heart-shaped lip product from IT’S DEMO. I like this brand too, although I don’t see it nearly as much as some others.

Each tin has it’s own flavor and color, and feature unique Pichu/Pikachu themed artwork. There was:

Blue - Peach

Pink - Cherry

Green - Candy

Yellow - Citrus

I love love LOVE this! It smells amazing, and it’s so ultra-cute ♥

However, I don’t know if it’s because it was sitting around for a year or what, but mine seems to have a “jellied lip balm film“ over it. I’ve never really seen anything like it before. Also, the lid is fairly loose. It rests on the tin well enough, but if you hold the lid, it slides off. Depending on the angle, it seems to stay on slightly longer, but other times it comes right off. Only if you hold it by the lid though, it doesn’t randomly pop up if you’re not touching it or anything.

I wish I could get the other three still~

Content - 5 out of 5. I liked everything, it was very fun and cute. There are a couple of things I think I may have liked a bit more in our previous box, but I like this one about the same. Even that sheep steam pack that seems not to have worked at all; as I said it could be my fault for not using it sooner. I’m super-excited for the foot peeling to begin!

Theme: 5 out of 5. I suppose? I’m not entirely sure how to judge this one, but it’s all stuff you can use in the home.

Total Rank: 9 out of 10. Everything worked, maybe not to the extent of what was guaranteed, but I still liked it all. The theme wasn’t all that special or anything, but it wasn’t a bad idea either. Everyone should be allowed to feel beautiful inside and out, in the house or outdoors.

For now, that concludes this review :3 I just got my Gacha Gacha crate while I was working on this, and I’m planning on getting it done tomorrow. So until then, stay cute!

Cutie Reviews: NMNL Feb 20

With this box, it’s officially been a year since NMNL changed its box to feature cuter Korean and Japanese products in the box.

Glam Gift and Contest Prize

For Valentines Day the box was focused on romantic colors and sweet, chocolate-themed products.

For this month, our horoscope’s would tell us our perfect matches. For example, I’m a Libra, and it suggests I would go good with Leo, Taurus, and Aquarius.

Dear My Soap

Our first item is this adorable little pastel colored soap, available in pink,blue, or white with matching ribbon sweetly tying it in place. It has a lovely Bulgarian rose scent, and it contains rosehip oil.

The booklet says it’s moisturizing... and to be honest, I couldn’t bring myself to un-tie this and try it out like I usually would <3< I feel bad because I try to use everything prior to writing a review, but it’s so... cute-looking, I couldn’t help it! I want to keep it as is.

Momocos Colored Eye Pencil

The Momocos monsters have been becoming more popular these days, I keep seeing them in these boxes! They’re so cute, and this time we get an eye pencil, available in this black color, pink, blue, and red.

As fun as they are to draw with, I’ve been afraid of stabbing myself with eye liner pencils. It applies really smooth when I tried drawing a line on my hand, but on the eye it pretty much blotches along the lid like the liquid. I really can’t tell if it’s me, my eye, or what...

A’pieu Chocolate Milk Mask & Medius Heart Eye Mask

If I recall properly, we got one of these milk masks the previous years box. At least I think, I could be off. I also see it when I go to Target, so I thought it was a funny coincidence. It felt really nice on my skin, but it doesn’t smell like chocolate. To me it actually kinda smells like coconut and hand sanitizer.

Our other mask focuses on the eyes with a lovely rose scent. It moisturizes and its made from the same, jelly-like material the lip masks are made from. It includes extracts of cacao and pearl, along with collagen and ceramide.

Unfortunately, something seemed a bit unusual with mine. After I opened it, I noticed one eye was cut much more widely than the other, it fit okay, but I had some issues wearing the mask. Not only that, but my allergies have been bothering my eyes lately, I kept trying to find the best time to wear the mask but it wasn’t happening. The product or something kept getting into my eyes and was irritating them, even when I kept moving it around. It smelled good and felt nice, but it was too hard to keep on for the full 30 minutes. I took it off at almost 15 minutes.

Beauty World Makeup Palette

I love when we get such pretty palettes, especially when they include colors I’d actually wear. For this month’s box, there was 4 different ones: Daily Color, Elegant Color, Tropical Color, and Natural Color. If I translates this right, mine is the elegant.

What I like about this palette are its unique textures. Some are smooth and silky, some feel scratchy (especially the one that’s SUPER-glittery), and there’s 4 of them with a diamond pattern that feels lovely to rub~

I don’t have the best lighting for these types of pictures <_< I’m sorry.

Melliesh 3-way Multi Heart

We tend to get these types of cute little cosmetic pieces pretty often. In fact we did get a single-colored heart from this brand a year or so ago, I still have it but I don’t use it very often.

This one is not just cheek and lips though, but also eye. The colors could be pink, cherry red, rich brown, or cassis berry. It has a bit of glitter in it and is pretty shiny, but it blends into the skin pretty well too. I’m not sure I could pull off straight up red eye-shadow, but I’m sure it could blend in with other colors nicely.

Capsa Lip Plumper & Heart Crush Lipstick Creamy Velvet

The Capsa lip plumper is a special product made with pepper extract that heats up the capillaries to increase blood flow. It comes in clear gloss, moisturizing lip serum, or as a red gloss. It also has a wonderful minty scent!

I was a little nervous trying this out because I never used a heating type of lip product before. It was kind of exciting too though. I tried it out and it’s actually not very hot at all :3 it does warm up a little but not to an uncomfortable level. I’ve been using it since the start of the week, noticed a teensy bit of a plumping but nothing too impressive. I’m not really big on thick, fuller lips though so I don’t really mind. It’s also very sticky, but that’s nothing new and it doesn’t personally bother me.

Our final item is by the famous brand Holika Holika. There was 9 possible variations of pink, coral, red, and beige you could get in this collection!

Mine is New Woman 01 PK, I think that means it’s a pink shade. Although it looks pretty close to red.

I’ve seen these lipsticks online a LOT and always wanted one of my own, but I haven’t actually seen it on a website to buy from before, so you can imagine how happy I was to receive this! I couldn’t believe it!

I’m not a huge fan of matte lipsticks, but it’s so cute, and it doesn’t look too bad. You could also just use it for a heart stamper if you wanted ;3

Content - 4.5 out of 5. The items are nice, no leakages or issues this time. I didn’t hate anything, although as usual I can’t use the eyeliner, and the eye mask gave me a bit of a problem, but that’s just me personally.

Theme: 5 out of 5. It featured lovely sweet items and definitely gave me a Valentines Day vibe.

Total Rank: 8 out of 10. I liked this more than our previous box, but I think I liked the Valentine’s Day box we got last year a bit more. The items are all kind of on the small side, but they’re also cute and fun to use, re-usable, practical, both playing important roles in these types of boxes. But I will say that I’m getting pretty tired of seeing eyeliner in these boxes, not only that but I wish there was a little bit more variety. It’s almost entirely for your face, and mostly the eye and lip regions.

Lip Plumper - I love how it smells, I don’t mind the stickiness at all. I actually kind of like the warming behind it too~

Lipstick - It’s so cute!

Palette - The colors are so pretty, I love rubbing my fingers over them. I’d recommend buying one of these if you can find them (Japan Haul shop may have them still).

Multi Heart - Pretty color, but no scent. I can’t stand the outside yellow color either, it’s so ugly, the worst shade of yellow for me. No offense to anyone who likes it though, it’s just my personal opinion.

Soap - I really want to use it but it’s so cute, I just can’t!

Heart Eye Mask - I thought I’d love this but it was so uncomfortable.

Chocolate Milk Mask - The scent wasn’t super-appealing to me. A basic mask.

Eyeliner - Once you get past the cute sticker label there isn’t really much to this.

Cutie Reviews: Tokyo Treat Dec 18

Ironically, I just filled out a survey the other day about this box. Changes will probably be coming to it, but not for a handful of boxes yet considering how far behind I am. If the box does change, I just help I like it~

Meanwhile I still haven’t gotten my delivery. As of tomorrow it’ll have been two weeks since it sent.

So because of pictures, I didn’t include the Lucky Treat or prize pics. The Lucky Treat is entirely Crayon Shin-chan dedicated (I’m not a big fan of that series so I don’t really mind not getting this one...) while the prizes are Vocaloid based. Those I’d have loved to get.

The book also features an article on Christmas traditions in Japan (like ordering KFC), and one on onsen.

Fanta Mango Jelly Drink & DIY

As usual I’ll be covering the DIY in a new topic- only because I do have a handful of pictures and a few choice words...

Okay, so our first item is a jellied, mango Fanta drink. It might be a little strange to have in December, but right now when it’s June it couldn’t be better timing!

Each can is 68kcal, which I think is pretty nice because with it being full of jelly it’s bound to fill you up a bit more than a normal drink would, and if you happen to be weight conscious or don’t want a big meal it could be a good addition to the meal.

I feel like if you like mango you’ll love this, but there’s a small chance if you don’t like mango you might still like it. Whatever you do do not smell it >3< maybe it’s just me, but as much as I like mango it always stinks. It’ll taste good but the smell is very unpleasant.

Texture is another thing to take into mind because this drink has it. If you don’t like gelatinous things this might not be something you would consider trying. I love jelly textures though :P

Salty Green Pea Mini Chips & Vegetable Potato Sticks

Next up are two semi-healthy vegetable themed savory snacks! The share pack item are the bags of potato sticks by Calbee, Each bag is only 44kcal and packed with 9 vegetables! You can even see bits of them in each stick.

These I’m pretty sure I’ve had before, but I don’t really remember so i will be rating them just to make sure.

The flavor is light but it’s there, it doesn’t really taste like one specific vegetable though. It kind of reminds me of a very light, non-breath threatening sour cream and onion. They have a medium-crisp.

Our next item are these mini chips by Bourbon, in salted pea flavor. Every 37 grams (which might be the entire bag) is 1 serving, for a total of 207kcal.

It’s hard to tell in the pic, but they kind of have a faint green coloring.

I didn’t really like these when I first tried them, I didn’t taste anything but some salt. However, the more of them you eat the more the flavor comes through, but oddly they don’t really taste like peas to me (I hate peas so it’s not a big deal), they make me think more of pistachio.

Apple Chocobi & Bourbon Strawberry Chocolate Chips

Okay, you can probably tell by now that Bourbon is kinda featured a lot in the box. Not a big deal though cause they got a lot of variety :3

Our first item in this pic is the Apple-flavored Chocobi. I admit I’m not a huge fan of these, usually because they go stale before I can finish them and they’re too sweet in my opinion. But I do like to try new flavors, and I love apples so I decided to remain open minded about this one.

These are made from apples all the way in Nagano Japan, and this set includes some cute, Crayon Shin-chan stickers in various locations in Japan.The one I got is Kagoshima.

I was very surprised by how tasty these are~ They are sweet but not cloyingly, and they actually taste like real apples, but they kind of remind me of cereal too.

For now, I think these might be my favorite (or at least liked) chocobi :3

Our next item I was very excited to try! I love strawberry chocolate, and chocolate-covered chips are usually-always delicious~

They pretty much taste like their name “chips covered in strawberry chocolate“, with a hint of salt. It makes me think of eating McDonalds fries with strawberry milk or ice cream actually, but they are delicious!

The flavor might be a bit odd, but I really think it’s good. I want to keep eating them~

Kumamon White Sesame Cracker

Our next item is a dense white sesame cracker, I think it also has a very light glaze and broken up pieces of nut in it. It kind of looks like something you would give a bird doesn’t it?

I thought it was kind of yummy, I love sesame seeds. But I also feel like I taste a bit of peanut, which I hate. I also didn’t like how dry it left my mouth after eating it. It’s also a little bitter, and sweet.

I feel like this is an “acquired“ item, because I gave a piece of it to my mom and she dislikes sesame seeds. Now, I’ve given her mochi with sesame seeds and she doesn’t seem to hate them, but this she didn’t like at all.

See, it’s unique things like this I wish they gave us more often. Maybe more rice-based products?

Melon Bread Cookies & Burnt Caramel Taiyaki

Next up we have two sweet items, first up being a small cookie based on Melon Pan (bread that resembles a melon. Only some of them actually taste like melon though).

I’d say the melon-flavoring is a medium-high in rating, and I think the cookie might be shortbread. I thought it was nice for a bite sized cookie.

The larger item on the side is inspired by a Taiyaki (fish-shaped pancake-like treats filled with cream, jam, or chocolate). This is a popular snack item by meito and is flavored burnt caramel, these specific taiyaki are made from wafer with air popped chocolate inside~!

This specific flavor is 87kcal, and they have a handful of different flavors. As of now, I’ve tried two or three (soon to be four hint hint) of these, they’re so good.

The black color might look a bit scary at first (or not, I like black so I thought it was kind of fun), but oddly to me it actually smells and tastes a lot like brown sugar and pancakes, I love caramel but I thought this tasted amazing!

I would highly recommend trying this, or any of the others if you can find them!

Bubbly Cola Ramune Candy & Tomato & Cherry Gummies

Okay so... one of these items I was extremely dreading to try. Wanna guess which one?

Our first item here is the cola candy inspired by a real pop. If the picture doesn’t imply anything, this is very foamy. I noticed when sucking on it, the foaming is very slow, and the candy has a teensy bit of sourness. But when you bite into it, it will foam a huge amount! It filled my entire mouth!

As I say all the time, I love cola (I’m even drinking coke as I write this) so I really like getting to try the unique cola-flavored Japanese candies. I think these were really fun, and each pack actually has 3 of them in it so these would be a fun candy to share with friends or to give someone if you wanted to play a cute little prank on them ;p

The next item meanwhile... I was terrified of it. It’s our Kinosei (health snack) is a bag of these tomato and cherry gummies. They contain a blend of natural collagen and lycopene to increase ones natural beauty. They also lower blood pressure, refresh the skin, and help ones heart. It’s also naturally refreshing.

Each bag is 94kcal. They are squishy-soft and jelly-like on the inside. They smell strongly of ketchup and sweetness.

I kid you not, each time I smell these I cringe. I HATE tomatoes, but ironically I really like ketchup. Because of this, I was honestly afraid of this, the only reason I tried it was because I figured “it can’t be any worse than that Takoyaki ramune right?“

They’re actually not bad though; I was shook! I can’t really explain the flavor though, it’s like a cross between cherries and the acidicness of ketchup. Does that make sense? They’re have a neutral sweetness to them, and they actually are kind of refreshing.

A few years ago I saw tomato jelly (basically a jelly tomato) on cold noodles during the summer and thought “what a strange concept“, but now I feel like I understand it a little more...

Bourbon Sylveine Chocolate Cake

To go with the holiday box, of course they had to include a holiday staple- that being a delicious cake! Everyone has a cake on Christmas in Japan, along with the KFC or home-cooked meal. Like a few other items this cake is by the brand Bourbon.

Each cake (or box, I’m not sure) is 102kcal. There are six cakes in total, so you could essentially use this as a dessert for a meal if you wanted :3 The cake is a soft, creamy yellow with thin sections of cream between the layers, and it is covered in chocolate and topped with something. I’m not sure what it is, but it reminds me of a raisin in taste and feel.

These are delicious- they’re a lot like little snack cakes you can buy at the grocery store, in fact I wouldn’t be surprised if these are the Japanese version of them.

The cakes are very soft and squishable, but not soft enough that they can’t be eaten in your hands if you really wanted or had to. But the chocolate is super-melty and a little bit bitter in taste.

I don’t get to have fancy cakes as much as I would like to (nor can I make them just yet...), I couldn’t help but feel fancy eating these cuties~

Oh, and I did share them with my family, don’t worry.

Takoyaki Umaibo & Christmas Pizza Poteko

I was pleasantly delighted by the variety of savory items we got, and surprised too. Our last time items are also savory :D including an Umaibo I’m not going to review because I’ve already had it.

I will say that I think it’s delicious though- way better than the horrible takoyaki Ramune drink. It doesn’t taste fishy, but I honestly can’t think of how to describe the flavor either. It’s covered in seasoning, and it seems to have a very thin, saucy layer or glaze, matching the sauce Takoyaki is usually covered in.

The last item, which I will review because it’s new is an item we get all the time, Poteko rings. You’ve seen these several times on here, but again, when we have a new flavor I’m more likely to be open-minded, and I was kind of curious because we hardly get pizza-inspired snacks.

They strongly smell like cheese, but I actually didn’t taste pizza at all. To me (my mom agreed but my dad took some time to agree as well), it tastes like a McDonalds cheeseburger!

Like an exact cheeseburger from McDonalds. Bun, burger, cheese, ketchup, pickle and all. It’s very delicious, but it kind of made me wonder if they make burger flavored snacks...

Content - 5 out of 5. I loved everything! There was also a nice change in that we had a LOT of savory items, and I thought they did well in terms of item variety. There was a bit of each thing.

Theme - 1.5 out of 5. Sadly I thought they did decently with this before, but this year was really lacking. I could feel the spirit on Christmas with the box, but if I didn’t know it was a Christmas box and didn’t get the one item with a Christmas wrapper I wouldn’t have been able to tell it was Christmas themed.

Total Rank: 9 out of 10. An awesome box, one of the best to have gotten I thought. All they had to do was focus more on the Christmas theme they were going for and I think it could have been a perfect 10.

♥ Cutie’s Scale of Yummy ♥

1. Burnt Caramel Taiyaki - Like I said, I’m not sure it tasted like caramel. But I really liked it! If I see it online I’ll definitely be buying it, I just hope the next one I get tastes as good, if not better~

2. Chocolate Cake - I’m glad we got six of these because they are very delicious~ My dad and I loved them, but my mom was less receptive since it reminded her of dark chocolate.

3. Strawberry chocolate chips - I like em, what more can i say :D

4. Takoyaki Umaibo - I may not be able to describe the flavor well but this one is a winner!

5. Mango Jelly Drink - I really liked this, but as I already warned- try not to smell mango items. They will either smell delicious, or like feet.

6. Cola Candy - I love cola, I love pop, I think fizzy candy is fun to try; I was a little surprised they were kind of sour though.

7. Apple Chocobi - Again, I was surprised by how much I actually liked these. Only because I’ve never been into Chocobi that much. They don’t taste bad, but I gotta remember to eat these before they go south (stale).

8. Pizza Poteko - I’m still convinced they taste like cheeseburgers, but they are good :P

9. Tomato & Cherry Gummies - I was really surprised by these!

10. Melon Bread Cookie - It was okay. I like melon, but for some reason I’m not too into melon-flavored baked goods. I love melon candy and drinks.

11. Potato Sticks - They don’t have a huge amount of taste but I still like them enough. I like the texture too.

12. Peas Mini Chips - They weren’t bad, I just like other items more.

13. Sesame Cracker - I really did like it, but I wasn’t too crazy about the desert left in my mouth after eating it...
