Profiling Art Patrons of A Certain Class

Ayala Corporation, one of the oldest conglomerates in the Philippines founded in the year 1834 by Domingo Roxas and Antonio de Ayala and was first named Casa Roxas. Domingo Roxas has three children Jose Bonifacio, Mariano, and Margarita. Antonio de Ayala eventually ran off with Margarita while the second son, Mariano, had a great interest in arts. Mariano is one of the people that established the Academia de Dibujo y Pintura de Manila that saw students such as Juan Luna and Simon Flores.That interest in art remained with the Ayala bloodline. A few generations later, Fernando Zobel de Ayala y Montojo who is the son of Enrique Zobel de Ayala and member of the Ayala Family. In the year 1942, Fernando had a spinal deficiency that made him bedridden for that year. During that time, in order to pass time Fernando spent it sketching. He eventually moved to the United States to study in Harvard where he started making art work without any formal training in the arts.

Fernando eventually returned from the United States and started working in the Ateneo faculty where he created the Ateneo Art Gallery. It is widely recognized today as the first museum of Philippine modern art. The Ateneo Art Gallery was established in 1960 through Fernando Zóbel's bequest to the Ateneo of his collection of works by key Filipino post war artists. It also includes works by Fernando Amorsolo and Fabian de la Rosa. Enrique Zobel de Ayala had a great interest in arts and was friends with Fernando Amorsolo. Enrique’s interest in art is one of the reasons why his was also interested in it. Fernando Zobel eventually got close to Fernando Amorsolo due to his father’s connection. Besides being a successful businessman, Enrique Zobel was a philanthropist and patron of the arts. He was also a skilled essayist who contributed regularly to the newspapers of the day. For his work, he was awarded the Isabel la Catolica del Merito Civil. In his later years, Zobel established the Premio Zobel, a prestigious literary prize that honors Filipinos who have made contributions to Spanish culture. It is not farfetched to assume that the young Fernando would have been influenced by the artistic leanings of his father.

Aside from the Ateneo Art Gallery, Fernando Zobel de Ayala also founded Museo de Arte Abstracto Espanol which was created in Spain. The essay “176 Gifts / 176 Dispossessions” shows the struggles of the artist in the art industry and hardship to earn money. It shows how artists are forcefully making art out of their own will just to get money to buy food on the table. Then the art that they create will be bought by rich people and display them in their galleries. The problem here is that the poor try their hardest to feed themselves and their family just for the rich to exploit them and get the majority of the profit. Ayala is one of the families that display great art not to exhibit the talent and story but to earn money from it. That is the essence of a museum or art gallery wherein art is displayed for the clout not for the deep story given behind every stroke. This is the sad fate that artists need to deal with whenever they have their backs against the world. The sad part here is that they could not do anything at all.

Fuera de servicio: Cierran Línea 1 del Metro en Ciudad de México

Ruta más antigua, claves de transporte y alternativas

El pasado 11 de julio cerraron más de la mitad del metro de la línea 1 color rosa, en la Ciudad de México, al necesitar un mantenimiento urgente después de operar por 53 años continuos, mientras que el tiempo de vida del material eran 40 años. “La Línea 1 superó su vida útil hace 13 años. Todos los sistemas de vía, señalización, eléctrico y electrónico han concluido su vida útil, han entrado en obsolescencia", explica el metro capitalino sobre por qué es necesaria la renovación.

Claudia Sheinbaum, jefa de gobierno, lamentó las afectaciones que conlleva este cierre; “es una modernización necesaria, pues es la línea que lleva más tiempo operando sin remodelaciones” explicó en una conferencia de prensa en junio del año en curso, también sorprendió a la prensa con el contrato de mantenimiento con una empresa china.

Tras pasar una semana posterior al cierre, comentan que se están neutralizando las alternativas, pues, los primeros días se sentía un caos a pesar de haber implementado alternativas y anunciarlas desde tiempo antes como el Metrobús, microbuses, peceras, RTP, incluso servicio particular desde aplicaciones, no obstante, aún hay usuarios que creen que no es necesaria la remodelación, así como es un beneficio para el pueblo.

Durante la búsqueda de entrevistas, se notaba que los usuarios corrían para alcanzar el transporte o esperaban transporte de Uber y comentaban que llevaban prisa, porque antes el trayecto era acelerado

Las estaciones que se encontrarán cerradas aproximadamente durante 8 a 10 meses son: Pantitlán, Zaragoza, Gómez Farías, Boulevard Puerto Aéreo, Balbuena, Moctezuma, San Lázaro, Candelaria, Merced, Pino Suarez, Isabel La Catolica y Salto del Agua, mientras que el resto seguirá funcionando de manera normal.

Una de las alternativas que implementaron fuera de cada estación es el RTP con las siguientes rutas:

Pantitlán - Balderas A (no pasa por San Lázaro).

Pantitlán - Balderas B

Pantitlán - Pino Suárez

Estación Zaragoza - Balderas Está diseñada para usuarios provenientes del Estado de México (Chimalhuacán, Chalco e Ixtapaluca) y de las alcaldías Venustiano Carranza, Iztacalco e Iztapalapa que no llegan directamente a Pantitlán, hace el mismo recorrido que la ruta Pantitlán - Balderas.

X cierto..el Piloto q murió en CHILE con su HIDROAVION [nombre q podría tener mi grupo] la nochevieja 2022 [q vi a VERONICA ROMERO de OT en sala MOROCCO y q debuto con cd LA FUERZA DEL SOL y cd LLUVIA así como versiono AMOR BRUJO de MANUEL DE FOLLA digo DE FALLA [=ERRA] al q encargo ALFONSO XIII la ópera ATLANTIDA para la EXPO IBEROAMERICANA de 1929 en SEVILLA pero no pudo acabarla a tiempo y la acabó otro siendo estrenada en el incendiado LICEO de BARCELONA con el Príncipe JUAN CARLOS en 1957 y en la q ISABEL LA CATOLICA la interpretó la soprano catalana VICTORIA DE LOS ANGELES LOPEZ]..no solo era de SEVILLANO sino que se apellidaba SEVILLANO..y en 2020 murieron un portugués en el acto apuntó de jubilarse con 65 años y un español de 38 años en su casa recuperándose de las lesiones

X cierto..la familia del sevillano Luis Sevillano pidió una 2da Autopsia por si finalmente falleció en un TIROTEO????..se hizo eco de la NOTICIA "EL BATE_FUEGOS DE ORO" jaja
