good news: majidreza rahnavard's public execution was cancelled. he is, to my knowledge, still alive.
bad news: iran is also set to execute toomaj salehi for 'speaking against god'. he sung songs about freedom and was subsequently tried behind closed doors and sentenced to death. we cannot allow this to happen. iran sometimes folds under international pressure. please keep his name in your hearts and speak up about this. we need to ally ourselves with the people of iran in their fight for basic human rights.

Man publicly hanged from crane amid protests in Iran
Man publicly hanged from crane amid protests in Iran
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (LG) —Iran protest continues as the regime  executed a second prisoner on Monday convicted over crimes committed during the nationwide protests challenging the country’s theocracy, publicly hanging him from a construction crane as a gruesome warning to others. The execution of Majidreza Rahnavard came less than a month after he allegedly fatally stabbed two members of…

A 22 year old Iranian protestor is at risk of being sentenced to death. Please share.
22-year old Mohammad Qobadlu has been sentenced to death at his very first trial session, to which the court denied entry to his lawyers, and is imminent danger of execution, according to a video message released by his mother. HRANA reports Qobadlu was tried on Oct. 29 at the Public & Revolutionary Court of Tehran under Judge Salavati on charge of “corruption on earth.” Prosecutors allege he drove a vehicle into motorcycle-mounted law enforcement agents, killing one. Besides the grave due process violations mentioned by Qobadlu’s mother, lawyer Amir Raisian has raised violations and inconsistencies in the case: - No images exist depicting the incident, the collision, or the hospitalization of medical examination of the agents involved -Preliminary reporting did not mention head wounds to officers involved in the collision, but the deceased officer died of a strike to the brain and skull fracture. The extent to which hospital treatment may have contributed to the cranial injury is not mentioned. -The criminal complaint gives the cause of the officer’s death as a car collision, but lawyer Raisian’s sources indicate only a skull fracture - no bodily injuries - was detected. Special force officers typically wear helmets, moreover. -The forensic medical authority ascertained Qobadlu’s mental fitness / sanity only on the basis of his own statements, neglecting letters from prison authorities stating he was mentally “precarious.” -Authorities present at the mourning service for the deceased officer made comments that were “not consistent with the car collision death narrative” said lawyer Raisian.

Recently, 227 out of 290 members of Iran parliament voted to execute those who were arrested in the past 8 weeks of uprising. According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the number of arrested protesters are more than 14,000 people. Islamic republic has a long history of mass murders. In the 1988 massacres of political prisoners, more than 30,000 people were executed. In 2019 protests, the government killed more than 1,500 protesters during the internet shutdown. They never stop their criminal ways because blood and bone is the foundation of their reign.
These people, who have the dream of freedom in mind, are going to be sentenced to death if international human rights organizations don't do something about it. We're not talking about nameless faceless people. These 14,000 lives have friends and families, pets and lovers. Let's get to know some of them:
This is Hossein Ronaghi. He is an iranian blogger and human rights activist. He's also a computer programmer and one of his activism areas is internet restrictions and how to go around them. He has a long history of political activities and since 2009 protests, he has been a political prisoner on and off. During current protests, he was called to turn himself into Evin prison or his family will be in danger, so he did that. But even though he was there voluntarily, security forces violently attacked him and beat him. Currently he's in prison with broken legs and no medical attention and a 46-day-long hunger strike. His life is in danger.
Tumblr media
These are Elaheh Mohammadi and Niloofar Hamedi, the two journalists who covered Mahsa Amini's murder news. This is not the first time the government arrest and punish someone who spread a crime news instead of arresting those who committed said crime. Media freedom is a joke in Iran and those who speak the truth get silenced. A while ago in an interview with Shargh daily, the newspaper Niloofar works for, she addressed sexism in her field of occupation and explained: "sometimes a female journalist would think with herself maybe I should just give up this job, this job has many safety issues and the salary isn't good at all. but most of them stay. Women journalists never give up."
Tumblr media
This is Fatemeh Sepehri, a political activist. She oppose Khamenei leadership and demands a democratic future for iran. She's a mother who lost her child custody to sexism. Her husband was a martyr of Iran-Iraq war. Her brother is also a political prisoner. She was kidnapped at the beginning of current protests and is being kept in solitary confinement.
Tumblr media
This is Leyla Hosseinzade, former Tehran university student. She didn't believe in hijab and still doesn't. She refuse to wear hijab while in jail and that put her in a dangerous situation with security guards. She's currently on a hunger strike.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Faezeh Barahui, a young Baluchi girl who was arrested during protests in Zahedan, has been in prison for weeks.
Tumblr media
This is Fetemeh Mashhadi Abbas, a professor in Shahid Beheshti university of medical sciences. She was kidnapped and is now being kept in Evin prison.
Tumblr media
This is Toomaj Salehi, Iranian rapper who's songs are mostly protest songs aimed at the regime. He was brutally arrested and is under heavy torture at the moment.
Tumblr media
This is Nazila Maroufian, a journalist who's in Evin prison because she interviewed with Mahsa Amini's father.
Tumblr media
This is Marzieh Ziari, a women's rights activist in iran who was arrested and her current condition is unknown.
Tumblr media
There are many many many more people. This is just a thin list of more known ones. According to HRANA, among all these arrested citizens, 1,941 of them have been identified and their arrests have become publicly known, 438 of them are university students. Children are among prisoners too but their number has not been reported. The wellbeing or placement of some prisoners are not known and that causes a lot of concerns.

By: Iran International
Published: May 3, 2024
Over the course of two weeks, from April 16 to April 30, the Iranian government executed 63 individuals, averaging one execution every five hours, continuing a trend that began last year.
The data presented by the Iran Human Rights Organization (IHRNGO), headquartered in Norway, highlights a broader pattern of capital punishment in Iran.
Since the beginning of 2024, 171 people have been executed across various prisons in the country.
Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the director of IHRNGO, criticized the international community's silence on the issue, stating, "In the last two weeks, the Islamic Republic has executed one person every five hours without any political cost. States that adhere to human rights and have diplomatic relations with Iran must react to the wave of executions in Iran. Silence paves the way for more executions."
The organization's latest figures indicate that at least 71 people were executed in 24 different Iranian prisons during April alone, with 63 of the executions occurring in the latter half of the month. Out of these, 44 were executed for drug-related offenses, 26 faced 'qisas' (retribution-in-kind) for murder, and one for rape.
The surge in executions follows the onset of the Woman, Life, Freedom protests in 2022, after which the Iranian government has significantly increased the pace of carrying out death penalties. In 2023 alone, the country saw at least 834 executions.
An April press release from 82 Iranian and international human rights organizations pointed out that over half of the executions in 2023 involved individuals arrested on drug-related charges. The statement emphasized the low cost of the drug-related executions to the government, signaling a potentially punitive approach towards non-violent offenses.

The corrupt, impotent clowns of the UN didn't just remain silent about this, they honored the tyrant behind it all.

HELP STOP EXECUTIONS IN IRAN
Tumblr media
The numbers are rising. They are using executions as a tactic to frighten the people and stop the protests. Be their voice. For anyone living in G7 countries, please urge your representatives to talk about the executions in Iran, bring attention to it in their parliament and in the UN. These students do not deserve death; they are heroes. They need to be saved.

The Islamic Republic Executed 3 more Protesters This Morning
The regime has executed more than a hundred of kurd, baloch and Arab activists in the last few months, all of them under false or ambiguous charges. Habib Asivad, an Arab rights activists who was kidnapped from turkey and brought to Iran by the regime, was one of the recent ones.
This morning the regime executed 3 more protesters who has been arrested during the nation wide Jîna revolution. They were tortured and forced to confess to a murder they didn't commit. In fact, there's a document that shows the murder was the regime guards doing. typical.
Tumblr media
The three political prisoners wrote from jail on Wednesday urging the people to stop their execution.
Describing themselves as "children of Iran" in the letter, the three prisoners said: "Hello. We ask our dear fellow citizens not to let them kill us. We need your help. We need your support.
On Sunday night, demonstrators had gathered outside the prison hoping to stop the feared hangings. Campaigners say the prisoners were tortured into confessions, and there is no reliable evidence against them. -Iran International News
As it was mentioned, people tried to stop the execution by protesting and gathering in front of the prison and it was postponed but at the end the regime executed them anyway.
Meanwhile Iran has been chosen to chair the UN Human Rights Council 2023 Social Forum. This is not a joke anymore, it's the tragedy of western human rights. Apparently murdering your people for protesting grants you a human rights council chair in west.
