Small things I learned about Pau'ans from the Star Wars novel "Last Shot."

Two stomachs. Idk why. Multiple stomachs are usually seen in species that have to break down plant matter. (I'm a sheep farmer) Maybe they need two to break down grains. Or just to digest raw meat and bone.

Pau'ans sunburn fairly easily. When they do it's a dark grey color.

Their native language, Utapese is not known for hyperbole or metaphor the same way human language is. I'm not sure if that's a cultural thing or dialect thing.

Their eyes are black to absorb light. They have night vision and extremely bright light can injure them.

In the same way, loud noises can damage their hypersensitive hearing.

One character mentions the lines from their faces are all over their bodies 😳.

They don't find straight teeth attractive or culturally it's inappropriate to correct them. I'm not sure what the character that mentioned it was insinuating. Having wild or jagged teeth isn't fixed medically because of this.

The bottom teeth are usually not pointed.

Having a Coruscanti accent isn't uncommon for Pau'ans that grow up in large cities. (Makes me wonder where the GI grew up).

Some have very thin white hair around the chin. (I think this is a result of crossing with some other species but idk)

The surface of Utapau is very dangerous due to a high presence of predators. There are also some primitive, not entirely sentient tribes that are reptilian in nature. I can't remember their name at the moment.

They are highly agile and fast despite their height.

Their blood might be darker than typical human blood. Every time one bleeds the author describes it as "very dark" but that might just be his prose.

They are capable of screaming or roaring at a significant volume.

Males value the way their red markings look. I'm not sure in what way. One character mentions his red tear like markings are as fine as any Pau'an's or something like that.

Utapau has some of the most prestigious doctors in the galaxy.

Edit: they also have hollow bones, that's mentioned specifically by Fyzen. Makes me wonder what they came from evolutionarily, some kind of avian maybe?

If I've been quiet/slow to update this week it's because I've been working on an ENORMOUS project with a deadline, but now that I'm making really good progress I wanted to give you all a bit of a tease of what I have coming down the pipe! That's not to say I'm not updating Ride or Die, oh ho.

The Kiners made that one post about the Bad Batch playing cards and it's been living in my head rent-free since, so...

Details:

We're going to pretend that Tech and Wrecker don't have sharper lineart than the other two, because I don't know how to fix it without redoing the lines completely and I do NOT have the energy for that

Wrecker's winning! Crosshair is helping. Mostly.

I didn't know what cards look like in the GFFA, so I made them blue, because, well, everything else is.

Cross has scratches on his face because he's a little menace that gets himself into fights before Hunter can stop him

I want to squish Wrecker's cheeks

Tech is eyeballing Cross because they had an argument about whether something was in the rules (spoiler alert: it probably wasn't)

This took me about 15 hours, I'm going to go and sleep, enjoy
