one of my closest, dearest friends has been isolated and kicked out + taken away to nowhere by his family for being trans. i do not know if he is okay. I do not know if he is safe. I do not know where he is. I can't even ask him or reassure him, he's been gone for days. and today I got a message back, but it was from his transphobic family. it was some of the most triggering, disgusting, misgendering shit I have ever seen. I have learnt my friend's, my brother's deadname against my will. I feel sick. I am afraid for his safety and I cannot do anything for him. I have been called hysterical for worrying so badly. I want him back.

Submitted Prompts #160
I was listening to that song "Space is Cool" that a fan made with Markiplier videos (what can I say, the music is really good).
And it reminded me of Danny, who's also so very in love with space.
And now I'm getting a clear mental picture of Danny full-on GUSHING about Space, in a sort of Outside POV thing.
Like, a Danny who's going to Uni in somewhere like Gotham or Star City, and got into the Astronomy club. And their "recruitment video" is just the cute freshman who adores space and will take any chance he gets to gush about it.
There's a lot of shots zoomed in on his pupils doing the cat thing of going from slits to big pools of black (like a black hole at the center of a galaxy) and his freckles start glowing in constellation patterns.
They go on an outing to the nearest Observatory, make it a sleepover thing, and sleepy Danny stretches and howls like a star, flops onto the nearest classmate and Club Member, and starts purring whenever they pet him.
He may be a meta, but they'll be damned if anyone blabbers to Batman about it.
Cue one Conner Kent coming to Gotham to tour their University, to pick where he wants to go when it's his turn next year, and find himself sitting next to Danny when he goes off on a rant about some deep space scans that caught images of Krypton before the explosion.
When asked about his opinion on the Supers, Danny, who's gotten so used to casual affections being directed towards him in the form of head scratches and hugs (they make Danny purr and light up in all kinds of patterns, so the club members do it as often as they can), pats him on the head and quietly praises Superboy for all the important work he does, and how his cloned little sister has always seen him as a mark that being a clone means nothing in the grand scheme of things, and it's who you are that counts.
Conner goes back to his parents in happy tears and with an invitation to attend Gotham U if he so chooses.

the gradual shift in joel from being the guy who’s so desensitized that he can carry a dead kid the same way he carried sarah to the site of her death and toss the corpse into a fire without blinking to being the guy who has a massive breakdown and almost nukes his whole life from the fear of ellie being irreparably harmed while under his care......and the way the last few episodes the show go out of their way to specifically test him on that fear.....like hey joel you’re mortally wounded and can’t protect or take care of her, what do you do. hey joel while you were bedridden she went through the worst experience of her life, what do you do. hey joel [insert spoilers for last ep here, you get the idea]. and he rises to the occasion, he pushes through the fear for her, because she asked him to. she wanted him to be the one to deliver her. she didn’t want anyone else. and he’s decided he’s going to give her whatever she wants
it takes time for the realization that he’s gonna have to confront his worst nightmare to really sink in. he’s built up a mental fortress against what happened to him 20 years ago. and you see that when he really starts to care is when all of that comes back up. the time skip between ep 5 and 6 was probably the Joel Quietly Freaks Out with Increasing Frequency and Intensity variety hour
and him telling her she’s not his daughter. aside from being that thing where you say the worst thing you can think of to someone when you’re trying to end your relationship with them so you can’t go back and change your mind later. but also, when you peel back all the layers of pain and fear, that’s him saying “you are not going to die.” up until that moment it’s the most honest and open expression of his feelings that he’s shared with her. his daughter died in his arms. that’s what happens to “joel’s daughter.” so ellie cannot be his daughter
that probably should’ve been 3 separate posts but it’s season finale day and i’m unmedicated, fuck it

i have so many (very normal) thoughts about the way this episode handled the whole joel wanting tommy to take ellie to the fireflies plot
in the game, joel's feelings and internal struggle aren't explicitly told to you, just very heavily implied through little things (i.e. joel refusing the picture of sarah in the game, him saying "and you'll be doing even better with tommy", and overall just general knowledge of his character up until that point). in fact, i'd say joel attempts to hide his feelings from the player and tommy, his argument for tommy taking ellie simply being that she could be a cure. but for the purposes of moving on with the story, the implications told you all you needed to know about what the true reason was.
its implied that the reason joel wanted tommy to complete the trip with ellie is because he's scared. we assume the fact joel can't imagine not being able to protect ellie in the same way he couldn't protect sarah.
but in the show?
we get to see joel completely and utterly vulnerable for the first time. it's beautiful, and its so incredibly heartbreaking. joel tells tommy he's afraid. joel says he's too weak to protect ellie, and he's crying. after joel tells ellie about this, we are shown that he thinks of sarah. i was absolutely NOT expecting to see joel so desperate and so detailed in explaining why he wanted tommy to take ellie to the fireflies; moreover, i did not anticipate such an exploration of joel's thoughts.
but the unexpectedness is what makes it so perfect.
the level of emotion we get from joel in this scene is a testament to just how much he's grown to truly love ellie during their time together. we never see him so emotionally vulnerable until he's accepted how much he loves her. we're aware of this when playing the game, but we don't get to delve into it in such a way; it's just something that's understood.
the show doesn't stop at making us understand it. the sheer intensity of joel's feelings in the show make us as painfully aware of how terrified he is of losing ellie as joel is himself.
safe to say, i don't think i'm emotionally prepared for what's to come.

i know were long past the pitching our own versions of scooby doo tumblr phase but like if i could write/direct just one single piece of scooby doo media i would do an episode (based on the original like 60s/70s run or thereabouts) where the gang is investigating rumors of vampires lurking around a certain abandoned manor or smth on the outskirts of a small superstitious rural town. pretty standard stuff. they hear about the supposed vampire sightings and decide to investigate. its all going pretty normal until they actually spot one, shrouded in shadow at first, and see them turn into a bat and take flight before their very eyes! its a real vampire!
so this huge bat is swooping and screeching at them and everyones flipping out running all helter skelter but then she transforms again and shaggy and scoob suddenly just. stop.
after a sec shaggy starts to laugh. the rest of the gang is like oh god the vampire did something to him or idk maybe he finally got so scared something in his mind just snapped but shaggy is just like lol guys its ok its just sibella.
and sibella is now fully revealed to be a like young teen lookin vampire girl, a little older than she appeared in ghoul school but def still recognizable. and shes super psyched to see her old teachers again and theyre all like catching up (this so called abandoned house is actually her extended familys vacation home (its their first vacation in a century or so and its fallen into a bit of disrepair ok) and shes visiting with them) meanwhile the rest of the gang is like ????
and shaggys like what? i told you guys about that time i took that job as a gym teacher at that creepy boarding school where the kids were all little monsters
and velmas like ............we thought you were being hyperbolic
and daphne and fred are just like EVERYBODY SHUT UP MONSTERS ARE REAL?? FOR REAL??? NOT JUST OLD DUDES IN COSTUMES???
and shaggy says uh yeah did you guys not think monsters were real? like weve been sayin..
and velma says smth like what are you talking about? every time weve investigated some supernatural phenomenon its always been a guy in costume, how could you possibly have deduced from that that monsters are real??
and shaggys just like .......velma my best friend is a whole Talking Dog
