#i have been crying in my car for 10 mins now #i’m sure the ppl think i’m crazy as they walk by #oh well #today could not be any worse #and i thought me and this guy were talking and getting along rly well #and i liked him a bit !! i was like ohh he’s rly sweet #and then it turns out he’s not very different and that sucks #literally feels like a slap in the face when they say something so dehumanizing so casually #and then u pour ur whole energy into half a semester worth of work #and finally present it and are so ready for it #and everyone just ignores u in in front of the whole class bc 99% of the ppl are men #there were 2 girls in the back #looking at me so sympathetically #and rolling their eyes everytime i got spoken over #and like #that was just such a slap in the face when you typed out a whole paragraph of your points and ideas #and someone reads it before you can #just before ur about to read it #bc it’s UR slide #and then everyone nods along and says ‘wow that’s such a good point that’s rly clever’#thanks.#thanks but also u don’t know it should be ME saying thanks #and then after class a bunch of ppl came up to the OTHER 3 #and formed a circle like bro #ur presentation was so good that was rly engaging #and i’m standing right there #RIGHT THERE #as they say ‘thanks!’#as if they didn’t all stop responding by 11 pm #and i stayed up till 5 LITERALLY 5 doing it all myself

I love the idea that avatars of the spider are super unassuming and innocent in the way that they’re perceived. Like….something about the juxtaposition of spiders creating an immediate feeling of danger in most people compared to the people that represent them being perfectly adept at hiding that aspect of themselves.
