The Disappearance of the Demon’s Head

(Damijon AU)

Slade never attacked. Damian Al Ghul Wayne never got sent to live with his father. He grows up cold, prickly, having a giant superiority complex, and successfully attempts to be emotionless.

At 20 years old, Damian Al Ghul is a highly accomplished assassin. He lives to rule, to command the league of assassins. He is lethal. After he takes the mantle of Demon’s Head at age 18 as his birthright, he joins Talia and comes partially out of the shadows.

A Justice League member gets drafted against him. He gets the second superboy as his foil. So, Damian studies. He discovers the half-kryptonian’s weaknesses. He plots and creates contingencies. And when he watches a fight from the shadows for the first time, fuck, nobody told Damian that Superboy is adorable.

Damian Al Ghul knows about seduction, how to use one’s body to persuade someone to do something. But fuck if Superboy’s drawl didn’t nearly cause blood to rush to his cheeks. But it doesn’t show. It never does.

Damian Al Ghul is not a hero. He is a villain, he is a killer, he is an emotionless assassin. Yet, something about the boy wearing red and blue. It makes him wonder about how maybe in another life...

Extra research, clearly only for battle strategies, showed that he first fought in an adorable hoodie and ripped jeans. And his eyes, guileless and innocent blue… Nope, Damian Al Ghul, Demon’s Head is an assassin. And if Damien might have found out Jon’s identity, no one had to know. Aka, Damian spent so long gazing into Superboy’s blue eyes, he recognized him instantly in his civilliansona even with the rectangular glasses.

One day, it happened. Damian pulled a coup, defeating most of the Justice League and population through a couple convoluted plans. He succeeds in paving the way to take over.

(“Your city is in ruins. You are-” Damian stopped, gloves half off, and raised an eyebrow. “You’re wrapped in my cloak.”

Swaddled in the thick fabric, only Jon Kent’s face was still visible, his expression trapped between a scowl and a pout. “It’s cold down here, and you left it in reach. If you weren’t too tight to heat your jail while keeping me prisoner down here, I wouldn’t have had to resort to thievery.”

“You look adorable,” Damian said, forcing a sneer into his voice. Because Jon did. He looked adorable and warm and perfect.)

And fucking god, he should not be feeling this way. What is even worse is that Jon was captured as a civilian, a picture of innocence. But even as a civilian, the clear fear for his loved ones, turned into righteous fury. Damian clearly had a problem, but there was nothing he could do. Once again, his traitorous inner thoughts screamed. I didn’t choose this life, and I am far too deep. Yet the Demon’s Head showed none of his indecision, he never did.

Damian sat down next to his apparently cold captive.

“Do you ever wish you never existed?”

“No.”

“Count yourself lucky.” Damian uttered with finality, before up and leaving dismayed by how much he had given away, his emotionless mask still firmly on.

After he had departed, Jon noted quietly that the Ruthless Demon’s Head hadn’t demanded his cloak back or even released his identity. He had heard the assassin’s wondering about the highly guarded civilian. Wondering why he was kept alive.

Jon was sincere in a way Damian envied. Damian was confident and abrasive, blunt and straight-forward. Damian did not know what to do with the flutter of his heart near superboy. Damian stayed away.

Jon got used to being captured, praying his mother at least had escaped before the city burnt. He knew his Pa, cousin, and brother, would be on the front lines. All Jon had was hope. And apparently his captor’s cloak.

Cassandra Cain was an expert in body language. That’s one of the reasons Bruce Wayne, her adoptive father sent her back under deep cover within the League of Assassins. She could confidently say that The Dreaded Demon’s Head was adorably soft for the young Superboy, Jon Kent.

After finding his files, and discovering he was technically Damian Al Ghul Wayne, Cass couldn’t help but wonder what if. And when she saw the indecision, on Damian's taunt frame, she planned. She was going to wingman the hell out of them. Reverse Stolk-holm Syndrome or Lima Syndrome, Jon can help Damian, give him a shot at happiness. Damian is not malicious, most of the time. He doesn’t feel glee killing innocents.

Cass could tell her brother? wasn’t that far gone. He had morals and ethics twisted since birth, but still there. She hoped Jon could pull Damian into a better state, but not at the expense of Jon’s own sanity. Judging by her research, they could do it.

The kidnapping of Jonathon Samuel Kent, son of Lois Lane and Clark Kent, ended months later when the victim was presumed dead.

Meanwhile everyone begs to wonder why one day, the leader of the League of Assassins for all intents and purposes ups and leaves in the middle of his highly successful takeover. He just disappears. It must have been an internal coup, people whisper under dark shadows. Why else would he have left?

Cass smiles as she records the conspiracy theory containing the aftermath of Burning Day. She compiles them in a folder until she skips town once more.

The isolated farm somewhere in Kansas flourishes. There are many dogs, cats, and other rescue animals. It is fully functional with cows and a couple chickens and many crop varieties.

Cass sits down with the couple, gathered around a homemade wooden table as the three open the folder to laugh. Jon grabs Damian’s hand, and it’s a credit to how far he’s come that the only move the former Demon’s Head makes is to gently squeeze back, smiling softly at his husband of 7 years. Life was finally peaceful for the two men, life was perfect.

I’d describe myself as: dog-lover, book-lover, scientist, level-headed, witty (i hope), and kind (i also hope the most)

Fictional character(s) that I identify with or am fond of: ohhhhh man there are so many!? cass cain from dc comics, artemis crock from young justice, sam from danny phantom to name a few

Three random facts about me:

1. I have a weird uncanny ability to always spot dead or dying animals. like i’ll just be walking around and all of a sudden have an urge to look over here, and of course there’s like.. a dead bird or lizard right there. i’m sure there’s some meaning to it but i’m not going to think about it too much.

2. I’m super allergic to cats. like, if one bites or scratches me i will go into anaphylactic shock. or so my doctor tells me, but i’m not testing that theory.

3. I put my milk in the microwave for 11 seconds and then i put the cereal in. fight me but i ain’t drinkin no super cold milk that early in the morning oK like the milk isn’t HOT it’s just not 4 freakin degrees celsius

Something little about my appearance that I kind of like: my hair is fantastic

An outfit that makes me feel powerful: put me in high heels baby and i will feel like i can rule the world

An object that is special to me: i have a necklace i wear almost every day where the pendant is made from the ashes of my dog who passed away suddenly last year. pics of louis here on my main blog if anyone wants a dose of the cutest fluffiest most majestic king ever.

A compliment (or two, or three) about me that made me feel warm inside: definitely anytime someone thanks for me my advice and tells me how it’s helped them! and also when someone compliments my writing.

Something I love about myself: i love that i love myself, that i know i’m worth it, and even the parts i don’t love about myself i still accept bc this is me. this is alll me.

Something I love about someone else: i love my husband’s laugh. it’s the kind that lights up a whole room.

Something I’d love to buy for someone else: pay off everyone’s student loans. just. poof!

Something I’d love to buy for myself: a private chef. i love to eat but hate to cook so there you go.

Three things that make me happy right now:

1. Just started reading ninth house by leigh bardugo! Perfect autumn/halloween read.

2. Had a compulsive thought to redecorate my office at home and then promptly ordered some new prints from society6, so I guess we’re going through with that one boys!

3. Finally got me some wireless bluetooth headphones and my life has changed! No more headphone wires getting caught on things!! I can actually set my phone down somewhere while in the lab and not have a tether!! omgggg thank u gods of technology

Something I’m looking forward to: gonna go visit my husband’s nephews this weekend in san diego to celebrate the 2nd bday of the older one. i also haven’t seen the younger one yet so time to squish some baybees!

Something I enjoyed recently: binge-reading leigh bardugo’s six of crows and the sequel crooked kingdom (i finished both of them in like.. a week; just couldn’t put them down). HIGHLY recommend if you’re in the mood for a badass fantasy/magic heist involving a rag-tag team of thieves, spies, and no-do-gooders.

I watched this, maybe you’d like it too: the masked singer. i’m putting all my bets that the fox is wayne brady.

Supernatural Survey

1. What season did you start watching Supernatural? Season 1!! although I wasn’t really super into it until season 2

2. Who was the first character you fell in love with? Dean fudging Winchester

3. Who was a character that you hated at first but grew to love? hmm, i’d say Bela Talbot. Actually, couldn’t stand her until I re-watched the whole show. I then realised she was completely hilarious and I’d wish she’d stayed longer :(

4. Which character would you most want to be in a long-term relationship with? interesting question... of course Dean♥

5. If you could go on a date with just one character, which one would you choose? I mean I don’t want to answer with Dean every question, so Cas he would be very entertaining I imagine

6. What would you do on that date? Maybe a theme park? or somewhere he would be all cute and confused. I think we’d go to an aquarium.

7. Which character would you most want to be like? I could name any of the bad ass female characters so I’ll just pick Charlie

8. Which character would you most want to see brought back from the dead? (im not including cas because obviously CAS!) Gabriel #1, BENNY #2, Eileen #3, Bobby #4, Crowley #5, Charlie #6

9. Which character would you most like to punch? Definitely Lucifer, I always haated Gordon from season 2-3, in fact, he is probably the only character that I’ve continueously hated so yeah I’d punch him

10. Who is your absolute favorite character? It’s Dean but sometimes it’s Castiel, then sometimes it’s Dean and other times it’s Castiel (So Destiel right?)

11. Which “Big Bad” do you think was the worst? by worst do you mean the best bad guy or the one I least liked? hmm

Lord knows how much I hate the Bmol, and not because they’re good bad guys because they fucking sucked

I really liked Abaddon, but the best would be Lucifer (only in season 5 tbh or Casifer) I loved the built up from seasons 1-5 and Mark totally met my expectations

12. Which character are you most like? Apart from the fact that I am completely ugly and have absolutely no love life I am the same as Dean. Isn’t it weird sad how I hate myself more than anything but my favourite character ever is the one most like me??

I find it so easy to relate to Dean, feels worthless, 100% self loathing, feels the need to protect loved ones but doesn’t understand when they do the same (lol they don’t) gets angry af sometimes, no one seems to know who Dean very is even Sam, is treated with a lot of tough love when he really needs soft gentle affection, dying of loneliness, gets too attached and can’t leave toxic relationships *coughssam* I could continue to go on but I won’t

13. What death hit you the hardest? Bobby’s - It was such a fun episode so it took me completely by surprise

Cas’s- I spent all episode sobbing to myself that I didn’t want to see Cas die...

14. What season finale hit you the hardest? Season 12 because Cas, but probably season 5 I literally had to take a break from watching spn after it like damn wow. If I re-watched the show again I’d watch up to season 5 and then particular episodes from 6 onwards.

15. What are your ten all-time favorite episodes? In not order: Lazarus Rising, Changing Channels, The French Mistake, Swan Song, The End, Dog Dean Afternoon, Free to be You and Me, In my time of Dying, Bad day at Black Rock, Plucky Pennywhistle’s Magical Menagerie,

16. What’s been your favorite season? I thought about it a lot and it’s definitely season 5. Kripke did a really great job of setting everything from 1-5 and I love it. I’m a very emotion tv show watcher, so too much sad really drains me, but this season has some of the funniest episodes as well as some super depressing (but awesome) ones. It also has both Castiel and Crowley in it so that’s like 500 + bonus points from me

17. Who is your favorite angel? Castiel, who else?♥

18. Who is your favorite demon? Crowley I also loved Abaddon

19. Who’s your favorite evil character? I really really liked Cain, i don’t really think of him as evil though yes he’s a demonic murderer, whatever

20. Do you have any Supernatural ships? I only ship what I see with my eyes and connect with, so basically, I only have one main ship (OTP actually) and that is and always will be Destiel

21. Who’s your favorite supporting actor? SHit I love the entire cast ,, favourite acting ? they are all seriously talented. I don’t know if he counts but Misha, even though he is a main character!!! (his jimmy novak was so different to his cas it’s so freaking cool to watch)

22. What’s your favorite quote from the show? damn just one? do I go meaningful or comedy? ask me again in 100 years when I can go through them all and find one

23. If you could cast one famous actor in an episode of SPN, who would you choose? Totally not my idea, but someone made a post about having Robert Pattinson play himself, and he hunts vampires Lmaoo

24. If you could write your own episode, what kind of creatures would you like to see included? Something that messes with the mind like the djinn or the wraith

25. Who’s your favorite girl that Dean’s hooked up with? um, no one from the later seasons because Dean HAS a freaking husband, so I get Cassie?

26. Who’s your favorite girl that Sam’s hooked up with? I really liked Jess, she made him happy. I know they didn't hook up but I also like Sarah, and I like Maddison

27. What are some of your favorite convention moments? the fact that cockles panels keep getting gayer.

29. What do you hope to see in the next season? I’m honestly so conflicted, because there has never been more canon destiel and I really truly want it but I’m sure they won’t but I’m also yelling at myself because season 12 was GAAAAAY bi
