Sri Lanka Nakata Diary

Title: I got to make some time all of a sudden.

Hello, this is Iggy.

Just as the title says, I suddenly managed to make some time for myself here in Sri Lanka. The guest who was supposed to come over had to go on a last-minute trip, so I wound up with almost an entire day off.

My boss told me that I should take it easy while I was at it and that studying was forbidden, so if you’d like, please give me suggestions. I think there aren’t many people living in Sri Lanka among the ones who are seeing this, so anything goes. Like your favorite ways to spend your leisure time, for example.

By the way, I like cooking when a senior acquaintance of mine comes over, but I noticed lately that I don’t cook much when I’m alone. Eating out is best when it’s Sri Lankan curry.

I went to the spa that Archangel-san introduced to me, and it was a series of first experiences, so I was very excited. Back in my country, I kind of imagined that women were the ones who get this kind of massage, but if my tired body would get better, I could keep getting it in the future too.

The owner of the spa was a Tamil speaker. It would have been great if I were more able to talk to them. Thanks to them, I experienced enrichment in many aspects.

Title: Three-Wheeler

Hello, Iggy here. I had a question in one of my updates.

Do you remember that, last time, I wrote an article about purchasing a three-wheel bike called Three-Wheeler? I’ve been addicted to riding it around lately.

I did have a driver’s license in my motherland, but I was the kind who didn’t have a car or bicycle, so maybe my eyes opened up to the fun of driving a car when I came here.

This thing is like a bike with a hood, so it feels good when the wind hits my face. Finding waterfowl when I’m running around the man-made areas in the evening makes me feel satisfied.

I’m going to study now. After I’m done, I’ll go ride on the Three-Wheeler again. Looking forward to it.

Although this is excessive concern, but if I may share my worries about the Three-Wheeler, while it does have a casual ride quality to it, is not appropriate for crime prevention. For example, there is no wall to protect your body if a thug happens to attack from the side of the vehicle while it is temporarily stopped. Your senior and boss have probably already told you not to carry valuables with you when you are riding. Please be careful.

I went back to read the article about the Three-Wheeler. So cute! I don’t see bikes like that in my country at all. Must be fun to drive around one of those. I think this would come in very handy if you ever feel like renewing all the strata within a 20km radius of your house. I’m jealous.

Title: Men in Skirts

Iggy here. Just as the title says, I’ve passed by several men who were wearing skirts. I wonder if it was traditional wear. But it also had a colorful and casual feel to it, so I’m slightly confused about what it was. I’m not very confident as to whether or not I was making a rude face when I looked at them. My apologies to them.

I believe you understood that it is used as formal wear. Perhaps the fact that there were so many men wearing colorful sarongs means it was a wedding ceremony? Do not be so discouraged.

I got a red and blue gingham check sarong! It’s comfy! Since it’s the locals who wear it, as expected, there’s lots of pros to it – it’s breathable, doesn’t bleach in the sunlight, and it’s easier to walk in than I had imagined.

As you can see in the picture, the length is down to the ankles. It’s longer than a Scottish skirt and that helps. It seems people put this on to go to wedding ceremonies. So cool. Above all, it suits the climate of Sri Lanka, so I think that’s better to wear than Bermuda shorts if you want to spend time here.

I received this from my neighbor, but it’s extremely comfortable, so I’m planning to buy one or two more for myself. I wonder if this can’t be worn every day.

I am a local. It makes me happy that you like my homeland’s clothes. This sort of garment also seems to be trending amongst Sri Lanka’s elite college students in the recent years, so if there are any places near you where college students hang out, then the boutiques next to them are where you should aim to go. Please have a pleasant life. By the way, it seems to me that someone is leaving several comments. Are you okay? If they are being a nuisance, it seems that there is also a block function here. Just my excessive concerns.

I made too many...

The picture is of coconut rolls, pudding and caramelized date. As one would expect, I can’t eat them all on my own, but when I tried to share with my neighbors, they told me that it’s bad for children’s teeth and got a bit angry, so things are awkward. What should I do?

The sweets that I made in big quantity didn’t go to waste. Lucky me.

Weird coincidences do happen. I’m truly glad for that.

I wonder what I should make next time he comes. Please leave a comment if you have any suggestions. As for Sri Lankan sweets, I still only know about things like watalappan, and also the rolls, cream buns, and coconut dumplings sold at the station’s kiosk. But all of them are delicious, aren’t they? If you have any recommendations, please tell me.

I have experience with working in a country a bit farther to the southeast than Sri Lanka, so seeing you live a fun daily life reminds me of my youth, which makes me both cry and laugh. belle’s 2020 tumblr wrap up

i almost didn’t make one of these because i lost my laptop charger on my flight home to california and i didn’t want to type this out on my phone but after being tagged in so many people’s wonderful end-of-year messages (thank you @sunlightwoo @heartyyjeno @atbzkingdom @chaoticdeobi @xfirebenderx @fairyoftbz and for including me thus far 💗) i decided i had to join this beautiful love fest and end the year on a good note!

m i l e s t o n e s (personal and for the blog) ✨

◇ on february 17th 2020 i started stanning (and eventually ulting) the boyz! ↳ this is important because i had been listening to the boyz’s music since no air era, but never watched their videos or learned the members’ names. after stanning the boyz, i was introduced to my beautiful deobiblr, which is such a warm and welcoming community. i met most of treasured mutuals through this community and honestly don’t know what i’d do without it!

◇ on april 23rd 2020 i reached 1,000 followers on my blog! ↳ this was very special to me because i have previously reached 1k followers on many different platforms (quotev.com, wattpad, a different tumblr blog, etc.) but after not writing for a long time i was worried people wouldn’t like my writing anymore or that i wouldn’t be good at it after taking a break. reaching this number was surreal for me and it made me realise that i wanted to study creative writing in university, which i am now doing!

◇ on may 30th 2020 i graduated high school! ↳ i graduated with honours and a 4.0 along with a lot of life-long friends that i had made in the two years i spent at my competitive, college-prep private school. i faced a lot of hardships but eventually got through it and i am a better person for it. congratulations to all the graduates who didn’t get the graduation they all dreamed of, you did something spectacular this year!

◇ on august 24th 2020 i started university as a creative writing major! ↳ 2020 was a crazy year for everyone and it made picking which uni to go to really hard, but there was one uni in particular that loved my admissions essay and wrote to me personally saying they would love to have me in their creative writing program, which really touched me and interested me in this uni. i’ve always been someone who finds academics really important so i had gotten multiple scholarship offers from different “higher ranking” universities, but i was able to learn what was important to me in picking a school that would both foster my learning and make me feel at home.

◇ on september 21st 2020 i got my first ever B on a test! ↳ and i was really happy about it. in high school i strived to get 100% on every test and would have panic attacks when i got even a single point off. i wish i was joking, but that’s the truth. i’ve always been a perfectionist and i wanted to have a more healthy relationship with my personal expectations in university. being in uni helped me to pace myself academically and learn to juggle doing fun things – like this lovely blog – alongside studying. i still managed to get all As in my final grades for this semester, but i really loved letting myself get Bs and take breaks.

◇ on october 18th 2020 i reached 2,000 followers on my blog! ↳ if you read how important reaching 1k to me was, you can probably guess how amazing and emotional this was for me. not only did i have enough followers to fill three of my high schools, but i had made a lot of friends at this point, and that was so special to me. i had also never done a special series to celebrate a milestone, and as i stand here on december 31st with 2,457 followers, i have yet to finish my 2k celebration due to taking a short break from writing. don’t worry though, it’s all coming very soon!

◇ on november 29th 2020 i reached 1,000 notes on a masterlist! ↳ facade? was my first social media au masterlist to reach 1,000 notes and when that happened, it truly blew my mind. i have no words to describe how special that moment was for me. a lot of people loved it because they resonated with the main character or because they found all the plot twists fun, and i really love that so many people enjoyed it and gave it a chance, despite the general plot being quite common.

◇ on december 7th 2020 i reached 1,000 notes on a fic! ↳ he loves me, he loves me not was my first one shot/fic to reach 1,000 notes and my second fic ever to reach 1k notes, which was literally crazy. so many people have reached out to me about that fic and how much it resonated with them and their experiences, and i just loved that this was the first written fic i ever had reach 1k notes because of the emotional implications.

Falling For You - Chapter 2

Pairing: Spencer Reid x Reader

Word Count: 1.8k

Warnings: cussing, kissing, fluff

Summary: This chapter is literally a filler chapter, it kind of sucks but oh well. Spencer x Y/N learn they have more in common than they thought when it comes to life experiences, but they also learn more about each other and their feelings. :P

Spencer came back into the living/family room. He looked upset but in deep thought.

“Hey, are you ok?” you asked as he came over and sat down next to you.

You could tell he was really holding back, but you stayed quiet now. Spencer rubbed his face and began talking about his Mom going missing.

“I’ve had some stuff go on in the last couple of months and because of the nature of my job, sometimes the people I care about also get affected by it. Now she is missing and we can’t find her,” he went on, you could see tears running down his face. You lightly put your hand on his knee, not wanting to startle him.

“You don’t have to tell me everything if you’re not comfortable, I understand. Sometimes it’s just nice to have someone to be around,” you said in a calm, soothing voice. This was one of those times that you were glad that empathy was a natural gift for you, but not because of being a therapist, just that you really did feel for Spencer.

“She’s a paranoid schizophrenic and although many individuals who aren’t being treated are more likely to leave where they’re staying and get lost, she is getting treated and staying somewhere. She was being watched by someone, who I was paying to stay at my house while I was working during the day. It was safe there…” he quietly spoke, doubting his own words, “or so I thought…”

“I’m sorry Spencer, I really am, but I also understand what you’re going through. My mom has schizophrenia and I’ve seen her have episodes and run away, even when she was on medications and being treated. Growing up I had to pretend that my mom was just on vacation somewhere and that no one could come over. I also know what it’s like to have someone go missing. My best friend had a habit of doing that when we were kids, but one day she was finally taken from her Dad and placed with someone else. Losing someone regardless is scary.” You empathize with him and share a very deep part of that you didn’t normally let out. It felt like taking a breath of fresh air, someone who wasn’t going to judge you.

“I hate to do this to you, but I do have to leave. I have to go into work even though I’m supposed to be on ‘leave.’ Hopefully I can find my Mom,” his eyes showed exhaustion but looked at you as if they were smiling. It made you blush and you couldn’t hide it, making him chuckle.

“Of course you can go,” you smiled, still blushing by the looks that he kept giving you.

“I’m going to stay a little bit longer, they said they don’t need me until 8am and it’s 5:30am. But when I leave, I could always come back later. It shouldn’t take long. Here’s my number though,” he took out his phone and grabbed yours on the table, putting each other's information in both. “As long as that’s okay of course. I don’t want to intrude,” he looked at you again.

You can stay as long as you want with the way you keep looking at me. Stop Y/N. Reel it back. You smiled at him, grabbing his hand again, “of course you can come back over. I’d love that. Again, I’m really sorry about everything you’re going through.”

Normally you don’t just hug someone randomly, especially because some people don’t respond to touch well, but you just had this instinct driving inside of you to hug him. At first his response was to jolt, to the point you almost stopped, but then he put his arms around you, pulling you into him like you were when you woke up a half hour ago. Have you ever just met someone and immediately you feel comfortable with them? No matter what is going on and how upset you may be, they find a way to soothe you, to the point you couldn’t get mad at them? Well, that’s how you felt with Spencer.

“You know, I don’t normally do well with touch. It normally bothers me, but I didn’t feel that way with you,” he looked at you again, and damn was that man making you melt into a puddle of water.

You decided to be brave, reached for his face and kissed him. His lips were soft and he was more than willing to return the kiss. You smiled as you pecked a few at each other and you could feel the heat rising in your body.

Spencer began to speak softly, “There’s a possibility you may be feeling this way because of me saving you. I’m sure you’ve heard of transference be-” you shut him up by kissing him more. This time with more force and moving your body up so that you could straddle his lap. You felt the pain on your knee and leg from the day before, but told yourself to shut up and continue before the boy genius decided to talk again.

That was until he threw his hand into your hair, gripping it enough to make you moan on his lips, but also gentle. You did the same to his hair, and slowly peppered kisses over to his ear, breathing hot air into them. The light giggle that came out of your mouth coincided with the moans that came from his mouth. He pulled your hair to have control of your head with one hand to get access to your neck, while his other hand wrapped around your body, pulling you in as close to him as he could. You honestly felt as if he wasn’t going to let you go, but you really didn’t care if he did or not.

You started to feel something underneath you and you smiled knowing exactly what you felt.

“Hmm.. wonder what that is?” you whispered into his ear, now biting his earlobe and then moving quickly back to his lips with even more need than before. You slowly started to move your hips against his, both of your kisses sloppy with one another.

“Y/N, I want this more than anything, but I want to do this when you’re ready. I don’t want this to be a one time thing,” he spoke quietly, stopping you and holding your face. “I met you less than 24 hours ago and there is something you’ve done inside of me that I can’t even explain.”

“I feel the same way as you do,” you leaned into him as your heart rate started to slow down. You put your head on his shoulder and he hugged you again.

“I want to do this right, if that’s what it is. Please,” he begged you and whispered into your ear.

You heard what he said, you weren’t upset, in fact, you agreed with him. As much as you wanted this man to take you and show you what he’s made of, you needed to go slower and at this point, you felt as if your body was about to give into another bout of sleep.

He didn’t need to hear your response, he got your answer when you kissed him gently again and slid off into his arms to cuddle him. Slowly, you began to fall asleep again.

The two of you fell asleep but this time you were woken up to a body not behind you and Spencer’s voice talking. You tried to listen, but decided against it. You didn’t want to eavesdrop, it really wasn’t fair. If he wanted to tell you, he would.

You grabbed your phone and saw that you got another couple hours of sleep in. It was now 7:30am. Spencer hung up the phone and came over to you.

“They may have a lead on my Mom, more than they did just a few hours ago,” he spoke. “I really need to go.”

“Go, go. Let me know what happens or call me before you come over, I might be sleeping,” you laughed.

He kissed your forehead and was out the door.

Still a little sore and tired, you went and took some tylenol, noticing that you could at least walk better today, and you felt like you should probably try to sleep again and in bed this time. Walter came over and licked your face as you laid down in your bed. Again, you felt sleep hit you like a brick.

After a few hours, you woke up noticing that it was around 12pm and that it was going to be a long unproductive day. You got out of bed and tried to clean whatever you could without hurting yourself and finished up some session notes from the few days before, but that time it was 3pm. You called your friend and told her about Spencer. She, of course, harassed you about it and told her to shove it, but that you definitely had an interest in him. She ultimately told you she would kick his ass if he hurt you.

You let Walter out, managing to get down and up the stairs without much of an issue and fed him. You sat down on the couch again, noticing it was around 4:04pm and thought you should probably eat, but when you started to think about what to have, you fell asleep again.

*KNOCK* KNOCK* *KNOCK*

You woke up, not knowing what was going on. “What?” you grumbled to yourself.

You grabbed your phone and noticed that it was 7:34pm and you had no phone calls or texts, so you definitely weren’t expecting anyone. You stumbled off the couch in clumsiness and reached the door. You rubbed your eyes and opened the door. If you weren’t awake then, you sure as hell were now.

Spencer was standing right in front of you, but this time he looked different. He was wearing an FBI jacket, still looking handsome as ever but there were 3 others behind him. Two girls and a much older, fatherly-looking, handsome man.

Spencer walked into your apartment, the other three introduced themselves. The brown headed one being Emily Prentiss, the pretty blonde was Jennifer Jareau, or JJ, and the older man was Dave Rossi.

You let them in and looked at Spencer as he was walking around your place.

You walked over to him, stopping him and looking him dead in the eyes. This was something you hadn’t seen in him before, though only knowing him for 48 hours, that would make more sense. But no, this was something sinister, anger, and you were a bit frightened.

“Spencer!” you yelled with your hand on his chest, “What the hell is going on?!”

“We need to talk.”

if you convert 15398642_14 , the violation code , with a unix time stamp converter , you get June 28th , which could possibly be a release date or something like that , maybe the day the full album gets released instead of singles.

the dates above each image are dates of the albums , or birthdays of the boys.

the date the self titled album was released is above the following picture , 009 12 Moon 29 , which converts to Dec 29 2009 , the date that self titled was released. as you can see in the above picture , this appears to be an isle of flightless birds , which is a song in the self titled album. this would be the isle of flightless birds on the tower of silence.

this picture has the date , 013 01MOON 08 , which converts to Jan 08, 2013 , the date vessel was released. in the center of the circle , the dots , look like the blurryface logo , but if you zoom in on the dots , you notice that they say letters which translate to lyrics.

this picture has the date , 011 07MOON 08 , which translates to , July 8 2011 , the date regional at best was released. in the picture , it looks like a kid , also connecting it to regional at best , considering there is a kid on the regional at best album cover.

the full picture of this picture has andre weil on it, mathematitian. who founded this group of mathematicians of 9 people. in the letter two slides below , it says that there are 9 bishops , 9 quadrants , 9 blurryface songs.

this is dated 988 12Moon 01 , which translates to , december 1st 1998 , tyler josephs birthday. this seems to be some kind of identification card or badge , the title of the image when i downloaded it was “ba_dge.jpg” , which leads me to believe that this is a identification badge of clancy , one of the characters introduced during this album. regional at best baseball field is also on clancy st. the violation code is also on the badge.

this picture is dated 988 06Moon 18 , which translates to , june 18 , 1998 , which is josh duns birthday. the letter up above reads, ”The perplexities of the Dema horizon didn't occur to me until my ninth year. It was then that I began to contemplate the existential, and decide what type of impression I wanted my life to make. also, in the above letter, it says “the perplexities of the dema horizon didn’t occur to me until my ninth year” twenty one pilots formed in 2009, so their ninth year is 2018. this also pushes the idea of clancy being tyler instead of josh , but being a songwriter myself , clancy may not be either of the boys , it may be a created character , but you never do know.

the fact that this was put under josh’s birthday leads me to believe that clancy = josh , also , clancy translates to red warrior , hinting to josh’s old red hair , making him the red warrior.

clancy's journal states that basically keons is the bishop/region clancy likes and all the other circles (the circles represent quadrents under the rule of bishops and also the songs on the bf album art. keons is heavydirtysoul.) are horrible and clancy wants to get the hell out of dodge but cant. he also states that the "west is blocked up"

there is a bit of writing on the website that reads “ sev_ering__tiez “ , if we remember when josh accepted an award at a award show , he said tyler was our “severing ties with dema.” later , this s was changed to a z , then back to an s , once it was changed to an s for the first time , a torn off compass on the map that was only obtainable by editing the image was fully removed and currently remains that way.

this letter was later on added to the mix on 5/9/18. it reads , “ To refer to Dema as m[y] home has never felt accurate. Dema, t[o] me, has simply been the place that I've existed, or, the 'slot' they've put me in. on 7/1/18 these three items were added to the website , a letter from clancy dated , , which translates to july 1 , 2018 , todays date . a yellow highlight dated , 017 02MOON 12 which translates to february 12 , 2017 , which was the date of the grammy awards , and a gif of a vulture turning its head , also dated , 018 07MOON 01. when you put the highlight over the letter from clancy you get “ we are band itos “ which translates to , we are banditos.

we have all the eye images. the final one was the message man one and today was a double update. today we got kitchen sink, as the vulture blinked (nobody dreams when they blink). and we messed with the message ,man by highlighting the clancy letter to find out we needed to reverse the audio given yesterday to get "we are banditos".

this was posted 7/6/18 , and titled "_they_ca_ntseeFCE300.GIF" , it looks to me as if it is a possible music video , or maybe it is clancy using torches to escape the tower of silence , maybe it is a connection to self titled , a car , a torch , a death.

these were added 7/8/18 , the first picture is a dead body , and the last picture is a letter from clancy , written on the back of the picture of the dead body , in handwriting now , because clancy has escaped. the ketter reads , “ I've made it out.I feel weightless. Let’s Answer: Some UtaPri Q’s

That you might have had for me but never asked for some reason This is going under a cut and some answers will be short but some will be essays so that is the reason for the cut Ready? LET’S ROLL!

Q: How many years have you been in the fandom? A: That would be 4 officially as of January this year Q: What made you discover UtaPri? A: Oddly...a gif of this guy

Funny thing is that while...yes Ren was my “most despised” character of the series from Series 1 he became arguably my fave from STARISH later on (despite the blip in Season 4)

Q: How many of the UtaPri Lives have you seen? A: That would be 2 and they were unsubbed when I watched them. It was 3rd stage and 4th stage with 4th legit getting me to go at one point during an MC segment

(to be fair this was me being a dumbass for not watching subs but I’m weird about fansubs)

Q: Any plans to watch any of the other Lives?

A: Funny thing about that. I found 1st stage on Youtube a while ago but never finished it. I’m gonna try to find it again (if Broc didn’t strike them all down) so I can watch it cos I DO want to see where the “Live Series” started in its humble beginnings. So...yes I do have intentions on at least watching the first two and then 3rd and 4th again. 5th I’m “ehh” on and I think people know my stance on 6th BUT I will make sure to expand on it in a bit Q: Are you going to watch Maji Love Kingdom when it comes out next year? A: As long as the Gov keeps our internet free and open...yes I have intentions on watching it. Now will I watch it as much as say...SSX? THAT depends on what I thought of the movie if I am going to watch it 50 times or something crazy like that (Plus to be really real...last movie I remember watching as much as the SSX OVA was the Animalympics movie that I DEMAND everyone watches...you can find it on YT so you have zero excuses) Q: If Broccoli announces a 7th stage and it has all three groups at it again would you watch it? A: So this takes us to the point where I will talk about WHY I never watched 6th stage despite I know I could find it if I wanted to. So...okay have I been a royal d**k about watching 6th stage? Yeah I have and while there is probably no REAL justifiable reason for me not watching it let’s try this So you have a stage that you are going to do and for the first time ever its going to have EIGHTEEN SEIYUUS performing together. First off that is a massive undertaking and the second thing is you have to figure out how to block stuff out. Even WWE at its grandest show had issues with time where things went long so they had to cut things or cut them short. Broccoli and King (I know the latter probably had jack shit to do with this but I just wanted associate them cos they do the group singles) had to know that this show was going to be a project because of the fact that they were going to have a lot of people on the stage and there were probably people that were wondering what songs were going to be performed...understandable. Here is my issue The stage was announced back around...what the first episode of Season 4 so they had time to figure out what songs were going to be put in and how much time they were going to get. I get that they also had a noise ordinance they had to deal with (basically no loud noises past I think it was 9 PM JST) so that’s fine but you had a “new group” that was performing for the first time on the stage so my issue was I thought they should have gotten to do THEIR SINGLES especially if ,as we would come to find out, STARISH and QN were getting their own stages later on (and STARISH got to go back to the place of 6th stage...kind of annoyed by that) ANYWHO Here is the other issue I think I had with them not getting as much time (or close) as one of the other groups We KNOW there is going to be this movie with STARISH ,QN and HEAVENS and there are people (away from tumblr) that think currently that this movie is going to be very “STARISH-centric” and well its not WRONG to think like that but it can be a little expected. The issue however boils down to this The question is IF Broccoli announces a 7th stage right? Okay let’s say they do and all three units are there THEN I will go back and watch 6th (albeit begrudgingly) because I know by then that HEAVENS will possibly get time to perform and I can be happy with that. As of now though we don’t know if its going to happen. If it IS and its the FINAL then its almost fitting because both STARISH and HEAVENS have 7 members! Now let’s answer this one Q: If UtaPri got a 5th season after Maji Love Kingdom but HEAVENS wasn’t in it would you watch it? A: Yes just like I am going to watch this movie. Here’s the thing When I started watching UtaPri it was after Season 2 had ended. At this time we had STARISH and we had just introduced QUARTET NIGHT into the fold and as we know at that time I was staunchly in the camp of QN...still am even if you don’t hear me talk about them nearly as much. I’m NOT going to be one of those fans that goes “Well HEAVENS isn’t in UtaPri anymore so it can fuck off. Let me just get a steamroller and smash all my CDs from the series that I bought cos its over” If I felt THAT WAY...do ya think I would be playing Shining Live right now (okay not “RIGHT NOW” cos its near 1:30 in the morning but you get the idea). The fact is I STILL need to finish getting the plat on Repeat Love and then I have Amazing Aria/Sweet Serenade and then Dolce so that is going to keep me busy PLUS I still need to get the DVDs for Legend Star and Revolutions...yeah I’m not leaving this fandom any time soon regardless whether HEAVENS is in it or not. TsukiPara or B-Pro would need to come out in English for that to even be a THOUGHT (and even then a friend of mine on twitter told me about Fate/Grand Order..I’m gonna be busy). Q: YOU DIDN’T FINISH YOUR BIRTHDAY FIC YOU OLD MAN...WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! A: You got me You ever come up with an idea for a fic and its far too fucking grand to sit down and write it...yeah that is what happens with my fics sometimes and this one was no exception cos it was supposed to have a lot of stuff in it but implementing it was going to take till damn near AUGUST and by that time a couple of K Movies would be out and THIS DUDE’S BIRTHDAY IS THEN TOO

Random thing I never told anyone: I actually considered Yukari “Genderfluid” upon repeated viewings of the movie and then also seeing RoK...thought you might be interested in that

ANYWHO Yeah the birthday fic got scrapped cos I legit was probably going to be into AUGUST to finish it then I have to turn around and do Yukari’s birthday post...that wasn’t happening Now this DOESN’T mean I don’t have ANY ideas for fics cos I do but its been hell with doing theory posts for Shining Live ,starting to grind on JP and other stuff. I do have plans to do more fics though and yes this beautiful person will be involved...especially when comes to everyone’s favorite coffee addict in Shiki but “spoilers” LAST ONE!! Q: You write a lot of self-insert fics with primarily HEAVENS or them with QN and STARISH is seemingly left out intentionally...what gives? A: ANOTHER FUNNY THING! The last fic I scrapped was supposed to go from May 1 to May 27th (my birthday) and in it there was supposed to be at least Masa when he performed “Lasting Oneness” with Kira. Had I wrote out the fic to its conclusion (which was going to feature an appearance from Len Tsukimori of La Corda fame) it was going to feature Len and Syo doing a song together and then also Nagi and Natsuki so there were plans for that. I won’t give away the next fic plot BUT STARISH might be involved and we are gonna have some good clean fun with them...I say that cos almost all my fics are rated G unless someone legit dares me to write angst at which point I need like a month to prepare for it ANYWHO THIS POST WENT ON WAY TOO GOD DAMN LONG! One of the most integral steps of self-healing is to release your fear of feeling, for choosing not to feel is choosing separation from yourself.

Your ego-self wants everything to stay the same so it can feel in control. Forward movement and expansion are what your soul craves. This disconnect is what often creates discomfort. Think of your soul self as the loving guide and parent of your ego self, making the highest decisions for the entirety of you, knowing that with your care and guidance the ego will always settle into its new reality. When you are tending to all aspects of self you will find it much easier to surrender into the forward movement you seek

A common theme that is coming up for healing for a great many of you is the belief that you are not good enough. This belief sits at the bottom of all self-imposed limitations. It is impossible to step into your highest life expression and still carry this false belief. It would amount to trying to leap with an anvil tied around your neck.

It is time for you to embrace this truth – you are enough. You are more than enough. You are good. You are innately good. The fact that you are reading this post and interested in self-improvement proves that point.

Your ascension process is about the rediscovery of your own unique goodness – your true divine essence. There has never, ever been a time that you have not been good enough. You are all individuated aspects of God. As such, how could you be anything other than good enough? In fact, how could you be anything less than spectacular?

Release that old belief that was only designed to make you obey someone else’s desires who had no ability to see you in your own truth and beauty. Commit to never re-wounding yourself with that old judgment with your own self-talk. Let your essence shine, beautifully and brightly for that is exactly how we see you – as beautiful, bright, courageous souls, driving the shift on your planet as tender, sensitive beings of love.

Embracing the unfoldment allows the foundation for your highest life expression to take form. It makes your dreams possible and sustainable.

If you have a limiting belief that you keep repeating like a mantra, we recommend you find the energetic antidote to replace it with.

For example, if you have a belief that it is not safe to trust anyone, you could imagine it being energetically released from you with whatever imagery works for you and replace it with a new statement.

So perhaps you have a belief that only fools trust other people. A wonderful and far more empowering belief would be, “I trust wisely and with discernment.” To see the old one crumbling away or dissipating and see the new one written out and settling into your energy field. When you find the new statement that gives you the healing you will feel a subtle but distinct shift in your heart center.

You can do this with anything you feel is holding you back or any area where you feel stuck. You could replace “Nothing is coming together for me” with “Things are manifesting for me with grace and ease.” You could replace “No one understands me” with “I am seen, honoured, and appreciated in my truth.” “Life is hard” with “I shift my life into being a wonderful adventure”.

Do you see? You are the author of your own life expression and there is tremendous power to your words and belief systems. Write down your limiting self-talk whenever you catch it so you can begin to rewrite it.

If you don’t catch your thoughts on the way by, which is very common for old beliefs because they have been with you for so long, that is ok. Simply wait until you are feeling particularly uncomfortable and then explore the feelings behind that discomfort. Once you identify the feelings, you will be able to uncover the words you repeat that support those feelings and then proceed with the rewriting process.

This is a very easy and powerful technique that is absolutely available to everyone. For every shift you go through, there are more old beliefs that can be uncovered and reworked to better honour what you really want and deserve. 1. Do you remember your first time watching or reading Fullmetal Alchemist? What was your first impression? I do remember! I was sitting on the couch playing a gameboy game while waiting for Inuyasha to come on (lol) and the first episode of FMA 03 started playing on adult swim. I kept looking up from my game to see what was happening cause it seemed pretty interesting. Since my attention was torn between the show and my game, I don’t really remember what my initial feelings were about it. My first impression was probably something like “huh, this is kinda cool.” Never could have imagined that it would go on to have such a HUGE impact on my life.

2. Tell us about The Fave™

/CRACKS KNUCKLES So if my icon and url and rambling tags that stretch on forever didn’t get the message across, my favorite character is Ling. Just about anyone who knows me here (or among my close friends irl) know how much I love Ling. He’s cute and funny and could easily be passed off as the goofy comic relief but he’s so much more than that. He’s determined and loyal and he’ll do whatever it takes to claim the throne for himself. Not out of a desire for power simply to have it, but because that power is the key to securing a safe future for his clan. I just love and admire him so much, and I can only hope that some of his princely wisdom and compassion rub off on me u v u

3. Do you have a favorite fanwork? Fanfics? Comics? I have many faves! Just to name a few: - siruoa’s Emperor’s New Clothes amv which is beautifully animated with gorgeous art. A must see! - Nothing Gold; an EdLing fic that reads like a novel and crushes the heart like an anvil to the chest - The Roommate Agreement; a fic about Ling and Greed in a modern day setting with a bit of a supernatural twist - Blunt Force Trauma; a fic that plays out so vividly in the mind as you’re reading that it may as well be animated by BONES (oh, if only) GreedxDolcetto, DEFINITELY NOT FOR KIDDOS

4. Hit me with an analysis/opinion you have on the series or characters! I love the characters. All of them. While I have read that some find this to be a fault, I think that one of the absolute best things about FMA is the attention that every character receives. Every character gets a moment to shine. Even if they only show up for a couple chapters, they somehow manage to completely steal your heart. If even the side characters can be so lovable and such a delight to see, it’s no wonder that the main characters are so well developed and why they warrant such love and adoration from the fans. Hiromu Arakawa pulls this off beautifully.

5. Tell us about a project you have going on! Or if you don’t have one, maybe something you’ve always wanted to write or draw? I wouldn’t consider it so much a concrete, singular project. But I am always developing my own interpretation of Xing. It’s my baby. I have about twenty or so OC’s as a part of it- from the court officials to the royal wives to the citizens of Xing’s many provinces. I’ve written quite a bit about it with a dear friend of mine, but I feel that there’s always room for improvement! ‘ v ‘

6. Favorite opening/ending number and why? This is SO HARD. I can’t pick just one because I love them all for different reasons. So for now I’ll say my fave opening is Ready Steady Go. It takes me back to my early days in the FMA fandom and makes me so nostalgic. Fave ending number would be Motherland by Crystal Kay. I play it so much. It’s such a sweet, pretty song and I love the lyrics. (Plus the animation that goes with it is adorable! <3)

7. Tell me about a scene that really touched you or made you realize something about yourself. A scene that really touched me was the scene where Edward is in the Gate and he promises Alphonse that he’ll come back for him. You think that’s it’s going to be this cruel tease and that a glimpse is all the brothers get of one another but then Edward breaks through and calls out to Alphonse and GOD, the scene just ruins me. Edward and Alphonse have such an amazing relationship and it’s so touching to see the brothers so devoted to one another.

8. OTPs! Who are they? Why are you WEAK FOR THEM? Edling’s got me WEAK. This pairing has a very special place in my heart because it’s a big part of how I actually met my best friend. But even on it’s own, Edward and Ling have a great relationship together. Even with just the friendship we see in the series, they come to care for one another greatly and there are just so many precious moments between them. Like Edward’s concern for Ling when Greed takes over his body, or the way he goes back for him when they’re stuck in Gluttony. They’re just a couple of dumb teenagers in love and I love it. GreedxLing is my damn aesthetic and I will never get enough of it. These two are so similar and yet so different and that’s what makes them mesh together so well. I always think about that scene during the attack on Central when they couldn’t tell if it was Ling or Greed in control because they were so in tune with one another. These two learn a lot from one another and seeing their relationship play out with each other gets me every time ; ;

9. Funniest headcanon you’ve ever seen. Go! Trust exercises at Fort Briggs involving Captain Buccaneer trust falling onto soldiers half his size I’ll leave the results to your own imagination

10. What spurred you to join the fandom? I dunno if there was a particular moment where I “joined”, per se?? I’ve been around since ye olden days of quizilla and lemons and the FMA Banana Phone amv.

11. Have a fandom meltdown here and tell me why you love your fandom or show/comic so much! BOY, I HAVE SO MANY FEELINGS I’ve been a fan of this series for so long. (To the point where I hardly remember who I was as a person before it???) It’s become practically synonymous with my identity in that everyone who knows me knows how much I love it. It’s so much more than “my favorite anime.” It’s what has been at my side growing up, my support in times of strife, and my biggest inspiration. I can say with absolute certainty that it has helped shape me into the person I am today, and that I am able to thank it for all the amazing friends I’ve made and the amazing experiences I’ve enjoyed throughout my life. I truly don’t know where I’d be without FMA and I’m so glad that I still have the lovely people still participating in this fandom to interact with on a daily basis. I feel so blessed to be a part of this miraculously thriving community.

My Daughter’s Keeper

Eliza Danvers has never liked Cat Grant. The woman is hard, sometimes cruel, power mad, and possibly just plain old fashioned mad. The drugs and alcohol are clearly signs of self medicating and Alex’s tales of how she’s demanded Kara’s time at all hours of the day and night do not lend themselves to motherly approval.

The fact that Kara has such an awful crush from early on does nothing to alleviate her concerns.

Which makes it faintly galling when Alex calls, drugged and in pain, but eager to reassure her she’s going to be okay, to learn how the woman threw herself into the fire to protect Alex. True, it was to protect her own child as well, but to hear Alex tell the tale, she could have just hidden with the boy and left Alex on her own. Instead, Cat Grant dragged her to safety before taking on a group of armed men who would have tortured Alex for information, then either hidden her away as future collateral, or equally likely, simply killed her.

She can no longer chalk the woman’s actions up to simply saving her own skin or at best, protecting her own children as she did in the aftermath of Non’s attack via Myriad. She has to acknowledge she might just have misjudged her.

Definitely misjudged her, she decides days later when she finds herself standing in the doorway to Cat’s room in a DEO medbay. It’s night and ultra quiet for once. Kara is with the woman, half in a chair, half sprawled on the bed, sleeping for the first time in days. As Eliza watches, her adopted daughter stirs ever so slightly, whimpering in her sleep. The nightmares are nothing new and she starts forward. From experience, she knows a soothing touch and a soft word will usually ease whatever panic chases Kara through her dreams. She pulls to a halt as Cat lifts her hand and settles it on the back of Kara’s head, ruffling her hair gently.

“Shhh, it’s all right,” Cat soothes. Her movements are stiff and she makes a few tiny sounds indicating it hurts, but she leans closer all the same, her voice tender. “You’re safe.” She pets Kara’s hair gently until she settles, then collapses back into the mattress with a low groan. Her hand remains and even from a distance Eliza can see both the ugly cuts and bruises one her fingers and knuckles as well as the way she continues to gently pet Kara’s hair. Judging by the way she winces, even that small contact must hurt, but she doesn’t stop.

Soon Kara’s restlessness is a thing of the past and her breathing is slow and deep.

Cat nonetheless continues petting her hair with a gentle hand and Eliza finds herself wondering why there’s no one there for her other than the boy. She knows her mother is alive. After all, Katherine Grant, the self proclaimed “literary giant”, isn’t exactly an unknown.

Then Cat looks up, her gaze a little unfocused, but not so much so that she misses Eliza. As Eliza watches, she carefully pulls her hand back as though she’s afraid of being chased away.

It reminds Eliza of a rescue dog she and Jeremiah adopted early in their marriage. Abused as a puppy, it was snappy and wild and spent years expecting the back of her hand at the strangest times. In that moment, she thinks maybe she understands a little too well why no family has come for this woman. “I’m Eliza Danvers,” she introduces herself as she steps forward. “Kara and Alex’s mother.”

Cat nods and pulls her hand back a little farther as she darts an uncertain look at the top of Kara’s head.

Eliza feels her heart break just a little at the fear she sees in green eyes. She suddenly wants to assure the other woman she has no intention of taking anything from her, but suspects it wouldn’t be understood. Instead she whispers. “Is there anything I can do for you, anyone I can call?”

Cat frowns ever so slightly as though she doesn’t quite comprehend the question. A beat, then she shakes her head as a tiny snort escapes her lips. “No one,” she mumbles.

Eliza looks away for a moment, wanting to offer some kind of comfort and uncertain what to say. “I...I want to thank you,” she says at last, her voice creaking uncomfortably. “For what you did for Alex. I can’t thank you enough.” She brushes a hand along Kara’s shoulder. “And for the way you’ve helped Kara...supported her,” she adds seriously. Whatever her issues with this woman might have been, they’re over now. “That makes you family.” Reaching out, she curls a single finger under Cat’s palm where it hovers in mid air and guides it back to Kara. “It’s okay,” she assures the other woman as she watches her settle her hand on silky gold hair once again.

Cat swallows hard and Eliza sees the way she winces, the bobbing of her throat emphasizing the dark bruises. “Can I get you a fresh drink?” she asks. “Or something to eat.”

Green eyes watch her warily, but finally Cat nods. “A drink would be nice.”

“I think they’ve got some of those little ice cream cups in the break room. How about one of those. Chocolate or vanilla?” Sometimes it’s easier to let the child choose the flavor, rather than ask them if they want something to eat.

Cat’s mouth twists into a wry smile, leaving Eliza with the distinct sense she’s aware of the tactic.

Of course she is. She’s a mother too, Eliza reminds herself and they share knowing looks.

Not much later, they’re sharing what may be the worst ice cream Eliza’s ever had, the kind that comes in tiny cups with a flat wooden “spoon” tucked in the lid and is slightly grainy and chewy with thickeners that have no relationship to anything even cream-like. Cat’s surprisingly quiet for a woman legendary for her temper tantrums. She touches Kara’s hair frequently, seeming to reassure herself with the small contact.

Kara, meanwhile, slumbers peacefully on.

By the time the ice cream is finished, Cat’s eyelids are fluttering and she’s visibly sagging. “Sleep now,” Eliza whispers as she stands and gently fusses with the other woman’s blankets, mothering her even though only a few years separate them. She stays close until Cat’s breathing is slow and soft, then she slips out.

She’s still in the hallway when she hears a faint whoosh, then the a soft thud.

“Thank you,” Kara says softly.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize Kara was awake the whole time.

“I know you aren’t her biggest fan,” Kara says softly.

“Wasn’t her biggest fan,” Eliza corrects. “But after what she did for Alex...” She shakes her head. There is very little the woman could do that would even annoy Eliza at this point. “She’s family now,” she whispers after a beat. “She’s earned it.”

Kara nods, and they share a hug before Kara slips back inside.

Eliza stays in the doorway for a long moment, watching as Kara tenderly folds herself around Cat, holding her carefully and whispering softly to her. It leaves her feeling somehow young and old at the same time. And so very grateful for both of her children and for this strange woman who brought one of them home again.

In this article, Rachel Andrew takes a look at some of the interesting CSS features that are making their way into browsers right now.

Things move a lot faster than they used to in terms of the implementation of Web Platform features, and this post is a round-up of news about CSS features that are making their way into the platform. If you are the sort of person who doesn’t like reading about things if you can’t use them now, then this article probably isn’t for you — we have many others for you to enjoy instead! However, if you like to know what is on the way and read more about the things you can play with in a beta version of a browser, read on!

Flexbox Gaps

Let’s start with something that is implemented in the shipping version of one browser, and in beta in another. In CSS Grid, we can use the gap, column-gap and row-gap properties to define the gaps between rows and columns or both at the same time. The column-gap feature also appears in the Multi-column layout to create gaps between columns.

While you can use margins to space out grid items, the nice thing about the gap feature is that you only get gaps between your items; you do not end up with additional space to account for at the start and end of the grid. Adding margins has typically been how we have created space between flex items. To create a regular space between flex items, we use a margin. If we do not want a margin at the start and end, we have to use a negative margin on the container to remove it.

It would be really nice to have that gap feature in Flexbox as well, wouldn’t it? The good news is that we do have — it’s already implemented in Firefox and is in the Beta version of Chrome.

In the next CodePen, you can see all three options. The first are flex items using margins on each side. This creates a gap at the start and end of the flex container. The second uses a negative margin on the flex container to pull that margin outside of the border. The third dispenses with margins altogether and instead uses gap: 20px, creating a gap between items but not on the start and end edge.

Mind The Gap

The Flexbox gap implementation highlights a few interesting things. Firstly, you may well remember that when the gap feature was first introduced to Grid Layout, the properties were:

grid-row-gap

grid-column-gap

These properties were shipped when grid first appeared in browsers. However, in much the same way as the alignment features (justify-content, align-content, align-items, and so on) first appeared in Flexbox and then became available to Grid (once it was decided the gap features were useful to more than grid), they were moved and renamed.

Along with those alignment features, the gap properties are now in the Box Alignment specification. The specification deals with alignment and space distribution so is a natural home for them. To prevent us from having multiple properties prefixed with a spec name, they were also renamed to drop the grid- prefix.

If you have the grid- prefixed versions in your code, you don’t need to worry. They have been kept as an alias of the properties so your code won’t break. For new projects, however, the unprefixed versions are implemented in all browsers.

Detecting Gap Support For Flexbox

You might be thinking that you could use the gap feature in Flexbox and use Feature Queries to test for support by using a margin as fallback. Sadly, this isn’t the case because feature queries test for a name and value. For example, if I want to test for grid support, I can use the following query:

@supports (display: grid) { .grid { /* grid layout code here */ } }

If I were to test for gap: 20px, however, I would get a positive response in Chrome which currently does not support gap in Flexbox but does support it in Grid. All those feature queries do is check to see if the browser recognizes the property and value. They have no way to test for support within a particular layout mode. I raised this as an issue in the CSS WG, however, it turns out to not be an easy thing to fix, and there are limited places currently where we have this partial implementation problem.

Aspect Ratio Unit

Some things have an aspect ratio that we want to preserve, and image or a video for example. If you place an image or video directly on the page using the HTML img or video element, then it nicely keeps the aspect ratio it arrives with (unless you forcibly change the width or height). However, we sometimes want to add an element with no intrinsic aspect ratio while making one dimension flexible with the other retaining a specific aspect ratio. This most often happens when we embed a video with an iframe, however, you might also want to make perfectly square areas on your grid (something which also requires that one dimension can react to another).

The way we currently deal with this is by way of the padding hack. This uses the fact that padding in the block direction is copied from the inline direction when we use a percentage. It’s a not very elegant solution to the problem, but it works.

The aspect ratio unit seeks to solve that by allowing us to specify an aspect ratio for a length. Chrome has implemented this in Canary, so you can take a look at the demo below using Canary if you enable the Experimental Web Platform Features flag.

I have created a grid layout and set my grid items to use a 1 / 1 aspect ratio. The width of the items is determined by their grid column track size (as is flexible). The height is then being copied from that to make a square. Just for fun, I then rotated the items.

In Canary, you can take a look in the demo and see how the items remain square even as their track grows and shrinks, due to the fact that the block size is using a 1/1 ratio of the inline size.

Native Masonry Support

Developers often ask if CSS Grid can be used to create a Masonry- or Pinterest-styled layout. While some demos look a bit like that, Grid was never designed to do Masonry.

To explain, you need to know what a Masonry layout is. In a typical Masonry layout, items display by row. Once the first row is filled, new items populate another row. However, if some of the items in the first row are shorter than others, the second-row items will rise up to fill the gap. The Masonry library is how many people achieve this using JavaScript.

If you try to create this layout using CSS Grid and auto-placement, you will see that you lose that block direction rearrangement of items. They lay themselves out in strict rows and columns because that is what a grid does.

So could grid ever be used as a Masonry layout? One of the engineers at Mozilla thinks so, and has created a prototype of the functionality. You can test it out by using Firefox Nightly with the flag layout.css.grid-template-masonry-value.enabled set to true by going to about:config in the Firefox Nightly URL bar.

While this is very exciting for anyone who has had to create this kind of layout using JavaScript, a number of us do wonder if the grid specification is the place to define this very specific layout. You can read some of my thoughts in my article “Does Masonry Belong In The CSS Grid Specification?”.

Subgrid

We have had support for the subgrid value of grid-template-columns and grid-template-rows in Firefox for some time. Using this value means that you can inherit the size and number of tracks from a parent grid down through child grids. Essentially, as long as a grid item has display: grid, it can inherit the tracks that it covers rather than creating new column or row tracks.

The feature can be tested in Firefox, and I have lots of examples that you can test out. The article “Digging Into The Display Property: Grids All The Way Down” explains how subgrid differs from nested grids, and “CSS Grid Level 2: Here Comes Subgrid” introduces the specification. I also have a set of broken-down examples at “Grid by Example”.

However, the first question people have when I talk about subgrid is, “When will it be available in Chrome?” I still can’t give you a when, but some good news is on the horizon. On June 18th in a Chromium blog post, it was announced that the Microsoft Edge team (now working on Chromium) are working to reimplement Grid Layout into the LayoutNG engine, i.e. Chromium’s next-generation layout engine. Part of this work will involve also added subgrid support.

Adding features to browsers isn’t a quick process, however, the Microsoft team brought us Grid Layout in the first place — along with the early prefixed implementation that shipped in IE10. So this is great news and I look forward to being able to test the implementation when it ships in Beta.

prefers-reduced-data

Not yet implemented in any browser — but with a bug listed for Chrome with recent activity— is the prefers_reduced_data media feature. This will allow CSS to check if the visitor has enabled data saving in their device and adjust the website accordingly. You might, for example, choose to avoid loading large images.

The prefers_reduced_data media feature works in the same way as some of the already implemented user preference media features in the Level 5 Media Queries Specification. For example, the media features prefers_reduced_motion and prefers_color_scheme allow you to test to see if the visitor has requested to reduce motion or a dark mode in their operating system and tailor your CSS to suit.

::marker

The ::marker pseudo-element allows us to target the list marker. At a very straightforward level, this means that we can target the list bullet and change its color or size. (This was previously impossible due to the fact that you could only target the entire list item — text and marker.)

Support for ::marker is already available in Firefox, and can now be found in Chrome Beta, too.

In addition to styling bullets on actual lists, you can use ::marker on other elements. In the example below, I have a heading which has been given display: list-item and therefore has a marker which I have replaced with an emoji.

Please Test New Features

While it’s fun to have a little peek into what is coming up, I recommend testing out the implementations if you have a use case for any of these things. You may well find a bug or something that doesn’t work as you expect. Browser vendors and the CSS Working Group would love to know. If you think you have found a bug in a browser — perhaps you are testing ::marker in Chrome and find it displays differently to the implementation in Firefox — then raise an issue with the browser: “How To File A Good Bug” explains how. If you think that the specification could do something it doesn’t yet, then raise an issue against the specification over at the CSS Working Group GitHub repository.
